First of all I am not much of a shoe person. I have flat/wide feet and finding wide shoes is a chore. I have been wearing bad sneakers my whole life no standard sneaker fits my wide/flat feet correctly. I always have to go up at least a half size so my pinkie toes aren't unbearably squished but even doing that there isn't much relief. So for the past month I have been looking online for alternatives. I am not a runner I do not need a padded running shoe. I am a mom who cleans often, works out, runs errands and I need comfort. Especially since I recently started working out my quest for a good shoe seemed even more imperative. So for the past month I have been looking into so many brands and reading reviews mostly on Amazon.

I came across this shoe and what struck me first was the color I love it! The second thing was the shape very unusual. The toe part is so much wider and looked like it would fit all my toes unlike the standard narrow sneaker. They came in wide even better!! Some people said the sneaker ran small another said too big but since it came in wide I gave it a shot and bought my true size a 7.5.

They came in yesterday and o m g the color is true to the image hot pink and black! They fit like a glove honest to God I could not believe it. I can wiggle my toes in these sneakers that too me was amazing. I haven't had a chance to work out in them but I did do errands today and I really don't want to take them off. I never bought a shoe that just fit and gave me so much comfort. They are super light and I can feel so much more of the ground. Which for me is nice and perhaps will help me balance better.

I can't say enough good things about this shoe. I am beyond impressed. I have always my whole life had shoe problems always left stores disappointed and defeated. I really made the right choice here and I hope they last a long time. So if your a flat footed person with wide feet don't fall for the "flat foot" shoes and waste money on inserts buy these!

I wanted a close fitting shoe for cross fit, and this shoe is great. It fits very close to the foot, and I am not wearing socks and ordered my regular size. I am not using these for running, but doing squats I can really notice a difference in being able to keep my heel to the ground, and feel that it is in the right place. I don't feel like I am walking barefoot, but I usually wear a lower profile shoe. Great shoe, and looks great also.

At first I was apprehensive about purchasing a minimus shoe--but this shoe is phenomenal; by far the best shoe purchase I have ever made. I usually purchase a 9.5 in Nike so I purchased a 9.5--could have gone with a 9, but the shoe is still comfortable. Toe box is a bit wide but that is to be expected with the style of a minimus shoe.

Daily use: Row, strength train, and distance run (indoor)

Training time per day: 2-4 hrs.

Great fit. Supportive but still flexible. Use them for crossfit and short distance running. Not great for walking all day

Overall, the shoe fit well and felt comfortable. Just enough cushioning and still flat which is great for my crossfit workouts. However, the vibram sole totally started falling apart after only two months of 3 day a week wear. This is not the same level of quality I expect from New Balance.

However, New Balance customer service was fantastic and exchanged the shoes for a comparably priced pair. I stayed away from the Vibram sole though and went with a standard sole.

I've been wearing Saucony Shadow sneakers for over 25 years. They give great support, they're attractive, and there are a variety of colors available. The quality was better 25 years ago, but now they're about the best for me. I stockpile them for fear of the day when they are no longer available. If they were still made in the USA instead of in China, maybe they'd go back to their original quality. I still give them "five stars" because it's a problem with all sneakers and shoes made in China instead of the US.

I'm a picky shoe person. I want a very minimalist shoe but one that doesn't cause a bunch of friction on my foot. This is a pretty good balance of both. I like the rounded sole on the heel. I wish they would do that to their other Pure shoes too. It allows for better ankle motion in the running stride. It's definitely a neutral shoe though and not much heel drop (if any, I'm not sure) which is nice for knee impact. Either way, if your used to cross trainer-type running shoes (which is most) just work up a little slower. I'm not sure how it compares to the PureConnect 2 yet.

This was a really cute shoe but ran narrow and it was uncomfortable so I had to send them back.

Honest reviews on New Balance Women's WL442 Lifestyle Running Shoe

The cushion and arch support felt great, but were so narrow that I had to return them. I have three pair of New Balance running shoes and these are by far more narrow. I would only recommend these if you have very narrow feet.

I'm a fan of New Balance 442 sneakers and have had several pairs. I wear 6.5 medium and do not have a wide foot. I have bought this style in 6.5B which fit perfectly but I also had to buy 6.5D another time. This pair in size 6.5B was way too small. I think New Balance manufactures them in various places and the sizing is not consistent.

I've always worn Asics since high school track days. For the last decade or so it's been pretty consistent GT series shoes. Over the last 18~24 months I've been trying to branch out and try new things. This was my latest experiment. First off, this is nothing like the GT series or Kayano. This shoe is very light and has very little cushon. This is a shoe for racing (or for people who are very good runners who want a minimalist-type shoe). After training and racing in it, here are my thoughts: Training I use this shoe for my shorter, faster training sessions (4 miles and under and/or track workouts). Racing I recently used this shoe for an Olympic-distance triathlon (10k run). The shoe comes laced with traditional laces but included are elastic "speed laces" which I used. The shoe is designed to be used without socks, having said that I have gone with/without socks and had no problem. It also has "drainage holes" in the bottom which seems to be the trend now with triathlon-specific shoes. These are by far the lightest shoes I own and I can feel it when running. There is a trade-off of course, speed vs cushion. The 10k was the limit for me, no longer than that in these shoes, I could start to feel the stress/fatigue in my lower legs at the end of the race. On the plus side you WILL feel faster. The shoes went on fast (no socks) and didn't cause me any foot discomfort (blisters etc) at all. These shoes are not for everyone so know what you're getting into. These are fast, light, racing shoes. I give 5 stars becuase they do what they are supposed to do and do it well with a little flair too...

Great tri/running shoe. Only complaint I have is I wish that the tongue was part of the upper. Separate tongue and upper takes about 1-2 seconds longer to put on. Great flex, moderate cushioning. I love the color scheme. Definitely an attention getter. I have been doing my tris in the pearl izumi isotransition but this one has a slightly lower drop at around 6-7 mm Both have the drain holes in the sole which I like for tris but running outside on wet days gets kid of annoying because water ran come up through the bottom, but they do keep your foot cooler on hot days. Totally worth the trade-off in my opinion.

I was a bit sceptical at first paying quite a lot of money for these shoes, however since they have arrived ALL of my other new walking shoes have become obsolete as I wear these new shoes everywhere except to work. The first thing I noticed was how comfortable they are even the very first time I put them on. They are lightweight and air seems to almost flow through them from every direction since they are entirely vented which is great on hot days and nights.Feels like I am walking/ running on clouds because the soles are soft but supportive under my feet. I've been walking the dirt trails near my house for several years wearing various shoes and boots. Recently I stared Nordic Walking and increased my pace so I thought that I needed a shoe designed for trail walking. I've always liked Puma because they run narrow and I have a B-C width foot. These are narrow, too, but not a true C width. They lace up tightly, have good rocker and flexibility to the sole and good cushioning in the heel. The sole tread pattern grips nicely.

Yes, they are every bit as ugly in person but that seems to be the current trend in athletic shoes

Running background I run between 15-25 miles week and have run several half-marathons (both stand alone events and in half ironmans).

Prior to running in Brooks, I ran in Nike Pegasus. I don't have anything against the Nike shoes, but began to wonder if the height of the heel padding was contributing to my ITB pain when I started increasing my distance. Several of my running friends encouraged me to try the Brooks based on my running style (more of a forefoot striker) and I have to admit I wish I had tried them sooner.

The shoe itself takes a little getting used to and they definitely aren't a shoe that you would use for anything other than running. Walking in them feels somewhat awkward because of the padding in the forefoot. Nevertheless, they are a dream to run in.

I typically wear a size 10.5 11 (with 11 being more common), and my Brooks are a size 11. The toebox is really roomy and I read this was to allow for your toes to spread out more during the run. I've got lots of toe room, to the point of the shoe feeling like it might be too big, but they fit perfectly.

I'm looking forward to putting some mileage on these shoes.

I began my brooks journey with the first pureflows and I run about 35 miles a week. These shoes are great! When my pureflow (1) gave out I went and bought another pair immediately and then saw that these came out. I ordered these in orange day one that I could and have put about 20 miles on them so far. These shoes are designed as more of a minimal type shoe for road running. Do not get the thought that they are toe shoe or minimalist, they are just more of a road shoe. The still give great support though. They are snug on the arch like you would want and wide in the shoe box which allows for a more natural foot plant at strike and to give you a little more grip and push for explosion. These have a lot to offer. With that said it mentions that you can expect only about 250-300 miles. I say that is extremely conservative. If the 2's last along as my last ones did, I got about 550 out of them including a full marathon. This can be expected depending upon your style of running, your pronation, if you take them off road a lot, how much you wear them outside of just the run (mine are on only to go run, no extra walking around or as little as possible)... Hope this helps.

Best Deals on Brooks Men's PureFlow 2 Lightweight Running Shoes

The PureFlow2 is, as the name would suggest, the second generation of the fully cushioned, 4mm drop shoe from the Brooks Pure Project. The Pure Project is Brooks' foray into minimalism, and they've seen decent success. The PureFlow2 (PF2) falls into roughly the same category of shoes as the Saucony Kinvara 3. Its light weight, low offset, and wide toe box put it squarely in the minimalist genre, while its full cushioning and stack height give the feel and protection of a more traditional trainer. Don't let the word "minimalist" throw you off, though. This shoe brings a lot to the table in terms of technology. "Technology?" you may ask. Why, yes. The PF2 is a walking, or perhaps running, (heh heh) contradiction. It is a minimalist shoe with all the bells and whistles.

Think, Smart Car with a lift kit, rims, hood scoop, and a fin. There's nothing wrong with such a Smart Car. The extras don't turn it into a gas guzzling SUV. But it does seem go against the ethos of why a Smart Car was built in the first place. To date, the Brooks PureFlow2 is the most technology equipped minimalist shoe I've ever used. The bad news is that some of these "technologies" do nothing for me. The good news is that they don't seem to inhibit me either. In fact, I even like some them.

The Best Parts

FitI really enjoy the feel of the tongueless, asymmetrical lacing system. I honestly wish more shoe companies would make the jump. I think asymmetrical lacing works because feet are asymmetrical. The thickness of a foot is not uniform, but traditional lacing systems treat the foot like it is. Instead of cinching the two pieces of the upper over the top of your foot, the upper of the PF2 swaddles the the foot with overlapping layers of maternal affection. I simultaneously feel secure and free. Good job, mama Brooks. Also, the PF2 run wider than some of the other PureProject shoes, which in my humble estimation is a big plus. Minimalist/barefoot enthusiasts love the extra space.

CushioningThe cushioning in the PF2, as I mentioned earlier, is very similar to the well loved Kinvara 3. It may be just a touch firmer if at all. Perfect for a daily trainer. My longest runs in these shoes have been between 9 and 10 miles, but they could easily perform well over longer distances; I suspect they'd be great up to a marathon. If you're used to running in something more on the barefoot end of the minimalist spectrum (like I was) then this will feel like quite a lot of cushion between you and the ground, enough to noticeably change your gait. Brooks claims that their BioMoGo DNA midsole is an "adaptive" cushioning system, meaning that it should feel firmer when running faster and and softer when running slower. If the midsole is actually accomplishing this, and I'm skeptical that it is, it's not all that noticeable.

Beveled HeelBrooks calls their beveled heel design, "Ideal Heel". Whatever they call it, it works great. It makes the shoes feel more level than the 4mm offset would suggest. Further, it delivers on the promise of moving the runner a little more forward in their stance making the mid/forefoot strike feel about as natural as it would in a zero drop shoe.

DurabilityAfter 100 miles, there is very little wear on the outsole rubber. It may be difficult to see in the photos, but there are very small, hexagonal etchings on the black in the rubber pods. The only difference I can see between the sole with 0 miles and the sole with 100 miles is that some of those etchings seem to have worn off. They served no function beyond aesthetics as far as I can tell, so the out sole rubber might as well be new. Likewise the upper is flawless.

Traction is good but not great; fine for every road I've been on. I took these out for two snowy/icy runs. They performed fine. They didn't catch my attention as being either excellent or sloppy. I slipped around a little, but not enough to think that the shoes were failing me.

The Worst Parts

As I mentioned, the worst part about this shoe that it's not as awesome as it wants to be, which isn't to say that the shoe is bad. Think of this section of "The Worst Parts" as "The Underwhelming and Mediocre Parts".

TechnologyTechnology is not bad. But I am pretty sure a good bit of the technology that is supposed to make these shoes unique and, indeed, supposed to set the entire PureProject apart, is non-functional. Take the Nav Band for example. It seems like nothing more than a piece of elastic waistband material. I can't tell if it's doing anything that the laces are not doing already. I can't feel it, so it is good that it doesn't bother me, but I'm not sure why it's there. The other bit of technology that has me scratching my head is the split toe. It's not a bad idea really. Other folks are doing it. The idea is that it'll allow the big toe to flex independently and in a more natural way. That would be fantastic if the big toe section could actually move. I can push, squeeze, compress and pull at the toes of the PF2's but I can not, for the life of me, make that big toe section budge one bit from the rest of the shoe. So how exactly does it allow my big toe to flex independently of the rest of my foot?

Weight and FlexibilityThe PF2's are light (8.5 oz), but they could be lighter. The upper is thick and firm. Here, I think the PF2 could learn from the Kinvara 3. The Kinvara is comparably cushioned, even slightly thicker (23mm/19mm heel and forefoot stack heights), uses a similarly strategic outsole rubber scheme, but manages to be noticeably lighter (0.6 oz lighter according runningwarehouse.com). So where does the extra weight come from? Almost certainly from upper materials including the Nav Band. The shoe is no clunker, but it's no feather weight either.

The PF2's flexibility, like some of its other features, is just ok. It's certainly more flexible than some of the other shoes Brooks makes (*cough* Beasts *cough*), but is just average compared to other minimalist shoes in it's category. On maybe one in ten runs I feel like I'm fighting the stiffness just a little. My foot wants to bend and flex in a way that is every so gently restricted. Perhaps another 100 miles will change it's mind.

Conclusion

The PF2 is a solid shoe and has been my go to daily trainer since January. I can't say that it has ever let me down. It leaves something to be desired in terms of simplicity, but the lack of simplicity is not a deal breaker. If you're looking for a transitional minimalist shoe, or just a cushioned daily trainer that is level, and feels stable and secure, you should take a look at the PureFlow2.

Honest reviews on Brooks Men's PureFlow 2 Lightweight Running Shoes

I recently purchased these to replace a pair of the Pureflow 1st generation shoes that I had used. I previously ran in New Balance Minimus shoes for the past couple years, but I'd been unable to go longer distances without getting injuries (usually forefoot pain). When I switched to the first generation pureflow, I LOVED them and thought I had found the perfect shoes. After putting 300-400 miles on them, I figured it was time to move to a new pair and I bought the Pureflow 2s.

I've been running on the pureflow 2s for almost a month now, and I don't like them. They aren't as comfortable as the 1st generation and I feel like they have less heel padding. The fit feels more like the NB minimus shoes, and I once again have gotten forefoot pain and knee pain (which stopped when I started using barefoot-style running shoes).

To be fair, I'm a bigger than your average runner (both height and weight), and these shoes may have been designed for someone with more of a traditional runner's physique. Anyway, I'm going to order more of the first generation pureflow shoes if I can find them in my size, and I'll probably give away the second generation pair.

I got these couple of weeks before running my first marathon and had no issues with them. They are really comfortable and light and provide nice support. I completed the marathon faster then I had trained for. I really like the way the lip is sewn on one side so that it does not move around. But after five months of running about 260 miles, they have become spongy and no longer provide adequate support and I started to get pain on back side of my heel. That is quite disappointing for such expensive shoes. So now I have bought a pair of Brooks Ghost 6 and lets see how they fare compare to these.

I have extremely high arches and suffer from planter fasciitis. The ASICS Gel-Nimbus is the only shoe I have worn that has just the right amount of cushion and support that doesn't aggravate the symptoms. Very comfortable!!! If they could just get a handle on the color options. My last pair was the 12. Took 3 models for a descent color combination.

For big frame, high arch runners I cannot imagine a better cushioned shoe. I am 6' 190. I have had consecutive multiple generations of these shoes back to GEN I-don't-know-what ( I think 3). Ultimate cushion, large toe box, great flex. Every pair has been race ready out of the box. I am 51 and have run multiple or at least one duathlon, 1/2 or whole marathon every year for the last 12 years ( year of my first gel nimbus). There has always seemed to be a color combination that looks nice too. I run with orthotics an the there is ample space to insert your own foot bed unlike higher models for pronaters. I was a New Balance guy for since high school (many moons ago) until I had my first pair of these. I am just glad to see that Acics has not over-engineered the model away from its original awesomeness. Great job!

Best Deals on ASICS Men's GEL-Nimbus 15 Running Shoe

The fit of the shoe is as expected. The first time I tried on a could definitely feel the gel move. After going for my first 4 mile run I don't feel it moving anymore and feels broken in. They are definitely more comforable than my year on Nimbus 14 that have been put through the ringer. Based on my recolection the structure of the shoe is a little stiffer than the 14. One annoyance of the 14 that appears to be fixed is the heal. The 15 feels more firm and secure whereas the 14 had a problem where the structure would roll down inside the fabric. I also like the look of these more than some of the Nimbus 14 options. I will try to remember to update once I have more time to run in these.

Honest reviews on ASICS Men's GEL-Nimbus 15 Running Shoe

I'm a solid guy in my 40's who's generally athletic but I have high arches, a wide forefoot, and wear a small sized running shoe. I am not one of those effortless, injury-free runners. I land on the outside of my foot as I run and my feet and lower legs take a beating as I pick up speed and mileage. So my running career has often been a start and stop affair. I've purchased New Balance running shoes for the last few years, particularly since they routinely offer more width options. These were okay, but as I started back into running this spring I was looking for another option. (I had followed the recommendations at our local go-to running store, but I think they default to New Balance for wide feet.) After a good amount of research I bought the Nimbus 15 through Amazon and it has been the best running shoe I've ever worn by far. I'd never run in Asics before although I've tried many other brands in the past: Nike, NB, Saucony, Brooks, Adidas... The difference for me was immediate and striking. For underpronators (supinators) with high arches the cushioning in this shoe is ideal, yet responsive.

I ordered my normal size in 4E, largest width. Surprisingly, the shoes felt a little loose, so I ordered another pair a half size smaller with the same width. I ended up keeping both pairs and use the smaller size only for running and the half size larger pair for more casual activities.

I guess the price for the Nimbus could be considered steep, but if I can get in a few more runs each month without pain then it is easily worth it for me. My only complaint would be that Asics only offers one of the Nimbus color schemes in the wider options. I even ordered last year's model, the Nimbus 14, as an alternative style, but those shoes don't have the same outside forefoot cushioning for road running.

>>

>> UPDATE at 300 miles of wear. These shoes have held up great after 3 months of regular running on roads, treadmills, and trails. I just finished a Tough Mudder run in Tahoe with a dozen miles of running over rocks, trails, obstacles, mud, and dirt and had no problems at all. These shoes have been great on the roads when running fast intervals or long slow distances. The Nimbus 15 has been the perfect running shoe for me and I hope Asics doesn't mess it up next year.

I ran with it yesterday and it's the most comfortable shoes I have had in a while. I was running on the Kayano 18s and the Nimbus beats it for me. Maybe because I'm an underpronator and the Nimbus is more for it than the Kayanos.

*Disclaimer: I love running in minimal-ish shoes. Thin, around 5-6mm drops, but with more cushion than an official "minimal" product.

I fell in love with my old Puma Faas 300. They became my best friends for training: I even ran a few races in them! When they became treadworn and ready for retirement they were replaced with another brand that was "highly recommended" for long runs.

The new other-brand shoes are great for long runs but I missed the feeling of my Puma Faas, their quick reaction, the way they lost themselves on my feet as I forgot I was wearing anything at all. When a pair of Puma Faas 250 (the slightly-thinner cousin of my beloved 300) showed up at a discount price on Amazon my heart skipped a beat. With a few clicks, they were mine.

These shoes are AMAZING for my quality workouts. They have the same Faas fit that I've come to love but with a (did not think it was possible) thinner, springier sole. I can feel the ground as I run which is what I crave. My feet can quickly correct for adjustments in terrain, my ankle is stable, and the shoe is so light it never weighs me down.

These are my go-to shoes for speed work, strides, splits, track training... all my runs except my long-mile runs. If you are a neutral runner (go to a running shoe store and find out!) that loves minimal-ish shoes, these are worth a look. I order my true "run shoe" size (which is always 1/2 size larger than my regular non-run shoesI don't know why) and they fit beautifully.

I love this shoe because it's lightweight, mesh upper allows my foot to breathe.

This shoe is best for short, several mile runs. It doesn't have too much support or cushioning and I think sort of falls under the minimalist area vice cushioning and support. I have an issue though with the shoe tongue sliding down -nothing to keep it up like a tab in the laces; however I still like the shoe a lot and I'm a Puma fan. In fact I have four pairs of this shoe afraid that it'll stop being sold.

I them so much and had no issues with fit or injuries wearing them for a whole year, so I decided why not replace them with the same exact pair? So far so good.

It's hard not to love these, they are the lightest athletic shoes I've owned. The quality seems pretty good too. They look and feel kind of cheap but they are very good quality, kind of deceiving. I'm happy, would buy again.

I love this sneaker, it is very light weight. not a whole lot of sole on them if you are a serious runner outdoors I wouldnt recommend this sneaker. the are very thin in material so a drop of rain and your soaked! but very stylist and true to size.

These boots are literary the best pair I've had in years. I live up north in NY state where in the winter it's cold. Plus I work at a car wash and I'm around water all day. These boot keep my feet dry and warm all day. I've been working at the car wash for almost 5 years and till this day can't believe that I found a good pair of boots.

These boots were excellent quality. They kept my son's feet very warm in very cold and windy weather. His feet did not get wet or cold while tubing, airboarding, sledding and playing in snow. Being from Florida, he would of complained at the first chance about his feet being cold and he did not. Loved them!!! Well worth the money.

My wife bought me these boots for my birthday. Although we live in sunny California, we do travel to cold snowy places in winters. I just wore these while walking in the snow for the past few days (I often go off road with my digital camera). While walking to my knees in the snow, these boots have kept my feet warm and dry I'm very impressed. They're not too heavy but comfortable.

These boots are as warm as advertised! From Ft. Lauderdale, FL I went ice fishing at Devil's Lake, North Dakota where it was bitter cold (-17 degrees) my feet stayed perfectly warm all day. BUT, like most Sorels, they are flat so after a few hours they are not comfortable for standing and certainly not walking.

They are compact compared to felt lined Sorels which is very nice. So if you are going to be sitting in the cold all day you will be happy with these boots. If you plan to walk for more than thirty minutes, these are not the boots you will want to buy.
