My 16-year-old is a shoe crazy kid, and he absolutely LOVES these tennis shoes. They're beautiful! They change colors from purple to teal when turned at different angles, and the bottoms glow-in-the-dark for an extra special feature. The New Balance MR1222-1225 series were recommended by a foot doctor. I use them for walking, not running. They are very well made and last a long time. I am a diabetic and had painful plantar fasciitis. I went to several foot doctors, got injections, but the pain kept getting worse. These running shoes have made a huge difference. When paired with Spenco orthotic inserts and wigwam shocks (no painful seams), my feet feel great. I highly recommend them. Hope they help you, too.

I am extremely satisfied with the 1225's. Right out of the box I found them extremely comfortable and ready to go. I took them out for a 7 mile run and thought they were great. Excellent cushioning, but not too soft and definitely not too hard on each footfall. I tend to suffer from shin splints and I think these shoes have helped me stabilize my gait and neutralize my shin splints. I also really like the styling (shoe laces do not come undone), color scheme and reflecting features (good for night running). I highly recommend them if you're someone who needs a stability shoe or even if you are a mild to medium overpronator who needs a stable but not heavy shoe.

I have wide feet and am 6'-4', 240, so need lots of cushioning. I use these mainly for trail runs/light hiking and these blow away every other pair of shoes I have ever owned. Very light weight and breathable. Am buying several more pairs as I can't believe how comfortable they are. Durability for trails isn't the best (but I'm not complaining). NB makes great products and I've always loved their wide range of styles/sizes. As such, will remain a loyal buyer.

I have had the last two versions of the 1220 series and upgraded to the 1225's. These are a great balance of cushioning and support. Great for heavier people or people that have hard steps. Was dealing with plantar fascitis for a bit after my long runs and the support and cushioning in these helped me get rid of it. Would definately recommend to all.

New Balance Men's MR1225 Running Shoe I've owned 20-25 pairs of New Balance running shoes in the past 10 years. Never have I had a pair of NB shoes literally disintegrate on me. After only about 50 miles of running the middle forefoot tread is almost gone having come off in chunks. The rest of the tread on the shoe still has those little dimples like on a new shoe, but the composition of the rubber in this part of the tread is clearly too soft or perhaps improperly formulated. Totally unacceptable. Stay away from this shoe at all costs.

fit is as expected and my daughter says the shoes are comfy. Colors look nice, however after wearing them less than 2 weeks, the soles are coming apart. The white part that is attached to the yellow sole is coming undone. Not happy.

Oboz Men's Lightning BDRY Trail Running Shoe Reviews

Critique: I have been trail running for years and for about the last 3/4 of a year I switched to a minimalist shoe called the brooks pure connect because I also do a decent amount of road running. Those shoes are ultralight weight and extremely flexible. They don't have a raised heel so my stride can follow through better. However they have rounded relatively smooth soles so when I go trail running if the trail is the least bit damp they love to slip. I saw these shoes and I really like the sound of the company and was intrigued by the off set lacing system. After watching a youtube review and seeing the other reviews on this shoe I was sold. lightweight, doesn't retain moisture, great trail runner, ect... I took these out the first day for a short 2 mile run with the dogs and it was the hardest run I have run in a long time. My heels were hitting too soon and messing up my stride, my calves were working overtime to compensate for the stiffness of the sole, and over all it was extremely difficult. In addition it weighs a substantial amount. I have some Merrell hiking boots that I normally use for backpacking and hiking. These shoes and the Merrell boot are pretty much the same weight. I kid you not! I handed them to my roommate to see if it was just me, but neither of us couldn't tell which weighed more.

Upside: The shoe does seem to be very well constructed. I do like the offset lacing system, it lets the toes bend more naturally. It has a sole similar in stiffness to a backpacking boot meaning it doesn't really bend past the ball of the foot which will help prevent arch fatigue. It is lighter than a lot of hiking boots. The shoe is very solid. I have been looking to get away from boots because after a while the higher boots tend to crease and rub against my ankle bone. I would have returned these since they are definitely not a running shoe in my opinion but I think that anyone looking for a good hiking shoe should check these out. It is a quality shoe, and it comes from a good company.

This is my third pair of Lightning and sixth pair of Oboz in general. Got them, put them on, ran 15K on a trail in Napa and they fit like I've been wearing them for months. Strong support, fantastic fit, it's like they were made for me. I just love these shoes, they keep puddles out and stay breathable. My only complaint is that I wear them out every four to five months, not their fault I just get nervous every time that the next iteration will fall below the previous and I'll lose my favorite shoe.

The shoes I was sent are fakes. I verified with the Vibram website and there are subtle differences. Go to vibramfivefingerdotcom and compare the photo there with this photo. I wish I had and not trusted Amazon. These shoes are too short and squeeze my toes. Have 2 other real pair that are lovely. These make me glad to take them off at the end of the 2x's I tried to wear them. Actually caused pain to my feet that lasted through the night. Really tried to believe they were real and it was just not my style but then found differences in the models I was sent and the model on the VIbram site. Shame you you Amazon and Brick Oven I no longer trust you.

These are my first pair of Vibrams Fivefingers. I received them from Fusion Apparel. And I am very smitten! Once I ordered them I began doing the foot training exercises that are listed on the Vibrams website. I'm assuming that helped my transition when I wore them today. They are so much more comfortable than my sneakers which started to hurt my feet after I began the exercises. I was a little sad to take them off.

Needless to say I'm already planning on my next pair. I really think they should make a new pair that is insulated for the winter months because I honestly don't want to think about going back to normal footwear.

My only complaint is that my right foot tends to swell and is usually larger than the left. Since these are styled like sandals there are slits in the side. Occasionally the sides of my foot would be pinched. However this is something the company couldn't help. Once the swelling went down though it was smooth sailing.

I also noticed that someone said they received a pair of fakes. I only saw that after I ordered mine and it made me worried. Fortunately I have the real deal and saved a few dollars too; Amazon is usually great for that.

I use these for running on pavement 15-25 miles per week. Purchased 2 weeks ago and have used them for 10 runs at 4.5-5.5 miles each. I always use Asics Gel and look for a shoe on the low priced end for budget reasons and also I consider them to be as comfy and performance appropriate as the expensive Asics (as I have used the pricy sneakers as well). The excite fits all expectations. All Asics gels are considered to be "heavy" for a running show but the comfort and support provided is well worth the few added ounces in weight. I would happily but this shoe again. Also, as I've found with all my Asics gels, there is no "breaking in" period...feel perfect the first run!

These shoes run smallmy normal size was way too tight on my feet. Also, they're heavier than a good pair of running shoes should be. I didn't like the fit or the feel of them at all. I assumed gel would make them cushy and springy... they weren't.

very lightweight shoes, great for short distance runs. I suffer from Achilles-heel , and I can only use running shoes to help me absorb the impact my heels receives. This product has respond properly to my demands but if you are a heavy person with knees or heels problems I wont recomend these shoes a lot, they wont be able to diffuse the shock from your joints because the sole isnt very thick.

I have had these for a couple of months now and I really like them. The only complaint I would have is that my boney feet get a little sore with the rubber tongue on the shoes, but it seems to be softing up a bit, slowly. They are very stylish and love the color and I can even pull off wearing them with my long skirts and not look ridiculous. I found these shoes at my local shoe store about a year ago and I have been wearing them every since. I currently own 6 pairs and wear a different pair for work, recreation, and running. For the price, they are a very good running shoe. They take milage well, wear well, and are comfortable from mile 1 to mile 8. I have bought $100 shoes before and they didn't hold up nearly as well as these do. And for the price, you can't beat it. I would highly recommend these shoes to anyone.

Saucony shoes are always so comfortable when I try them on. I always try the more popular brands, thinking that I'm missing something. But I actually know now that other people are missing out when they buy their flimsy rock hard "fashion" running shoes. Saucony's are always nicely padded, feel natural, and last a long time. Their insoles are great, better than the gel or orthotic ones you can buy separately, and don't flatten with age. Highly recommended. If you are buying these online, I would say get a half-size larger. I'm normally a 10 1/2 but with Saucony's, 11 fits better.

I hate wearing shoes! I live in flipflops in the summer and Ugg type boots in the winter. Not so great to go hiking in either one. These fit the bill perfectly. I have the protection, comfort and freedom in a breathable shoe! I love the coloring of the tusk/afterglow because it goes with everything. I typically wear an 8.5 in sneakers and a 9 in boots. The 9 fits me perfectly. They have a removable insole so you can put in your own insert. I have weird arches so I always need to put my own insoles in. However if it weren't for that they are very comfortable!

Very comfortable shoes! They arrived looking slightly dirty, which I wasn't thrilled about. They aren't as cute as I thought they would be, but what they lack in style they make up for in comfort. I am a long distance runner but I only use these for walking as they don't have much support.

I've had my pair of speeders for about 3 years now. After heavy use they are finally wearing out now and I plan to replace them with another pair.

The shoes mold to your feet very easily (mine look all warped, but fit my feet perfectly).

The mesh is nice because it allows your feet to breathe a little.

Only Cons I can think of are:

If the ground/grass is wet then it just soaks through the mesh, but it dries quickly.

Because of the outsole (bottom) design stuff does get stuck in them a lot pebbles, grass, mud, etc, so just make sure you wipe your feet off well before entering a building!
