Can't go wrong with these shoes. They wear like iron! This is my daughter's second pair and she's had her first pair for 3 yrs. She wears these a lot in college because she says they are both comfortable and warm. Worth the money!

I have been a Hi-Tec customer for quite a few years. I purchased this footwear online to save time and it only cost me grief and sadness. I bought these twice if you count the replacement pair. I had to return both pairs because:
Purchase 1: The tread began to fall apart on the first day I wore them.
Purchase 2 (replacements): The tread began to fall apart on the second day I wore them and the right heel pinched.
I have recently received my refund and will make my Hi-Tec footwear purchase in a store from now on as I believe that less than second rate shoes should not be sold EVER.
This is the only time I have ever been dissatisfied with a purchase from Amazon and I have been making those purchases for several years. To the credit of Amazon the time delay to refund was quite reasonable and I will be making future purchases, just not footwear.

Review of ZEMgear 360 Ninja Split Toe - Running Series
I'm writing a review here because there doesn't seem to be a place to do that directly on Zem's site...and maybe my comments will get a little more notice here vice their broken contact/customer support system...more on that later.
First, I purchased these shoes coming from experience with Vibram FF's (Sprint, KSO, and Bikila), but no other minimalist style shoes. I love the fit and feel of the KSO and Bikila (Sprint not-so-much), but when I saw the 360's I decided I had to see how they compare, esp being cheaper and with the unique split-toe design.
Initial thoughts They look nice (IMHO), fit well (normally wear 11.5 so ordered up to 12 for the first pair), the bands seem to snug the shoes to my feet (with socks), material and sole are very flexible, great "road-feel", slightly warmer than the VFF's, easier to take on and off (esp with tabi (split-toe socks)), and all around an impressive shoe. My feet are "average" and roughly identical in length...no issues with rubbing/pinching on the 12's (even with moderate heel spurs).
How do I use them? I run moderately (mostly paved trails/sidewalk/some light offroad) but also use them as an everyday shoe...errands, physical training, driving, you name it. They're just a comfortable easy to use shoe with great feel. Be warned though...you will feel rocks and other objects through them if you don't watch your step. I still love my VFF, but if I'm in a hurry and don't want to mess with five toe socks or velcro, these are what I grab. (And they're money at the airport.)
But...as much as I enjoy these there are a few glaring cons that make me hesitate to recommend the Ninja 360.
First, after using the 12's for about 2 months the left big toe tread began delaminating/separating from the sole. This is a huge hit. I had run and used them lightly during this time...maybe 40 miles running at most on asphalt/concrete/paved and sandy areas, and walking around. I was deployed and was outside the Amazon return period, so opted to try gluing the tread back down. This was a very temporary fix, and I've had to try different glues and re-apply several times since then. Considering the limited use of the shoe when this issue developed, this is an unacceptable flaw. Currently my repair is holding, but I shouldn't have to start repairing my tread after only 2 months of light use. Could I get them replaced under warranty? I don't know. I thought I tried that, but so far no luck. (slight sarcasm, see below)
Also, I had been wearing either "flip-flop" socks or Injinjis with the 360's, which helped the 12 fit more snugly. However, after ordering some AFX no-show socks, which are very thin, I noticed the shoes slipping on my feet while sprinting. It could be partially my form, but I decided to see if an 11 would fit better with thin or no socks. I wanted a glove-like fit. So I ordered some 11's (direct from ZEM this time).
First pair of 11's, the right shoe fit perfectly. It was like a glove; exactly what I wanted. The left shoe, however, was sewn shorter in the big toe. The best I can describe is the material was overlapped too far and pinched more material into the toe of the shoe. So while the overall fit of the left was great, the big toe was too short and there was extra bunched material inside rubbing on the end of my toe. No good.
And to top it off...right out of the box the left big toe tread was delaminated for about 1/4 inch from the tip. (That's 2 for 2 with tread issues. A red flag for me!)
As this pair was purchased directly from Zem I e-mailed them about returning/exchanging. I got a strange e-mail that looked like my message e-mailed back to me, but no confirmation or acknowledgement. I tried again. Same thing. I waited...Sent another message. Nothing. Finally I received a reply, but it was obvious the individual didn't fully read or understand the issues. (I guess my bad for listing the problems with both the 11's and 12's together) But after that human contact I heard nothing. I sent a couple more e-mails. This stretched on over a couple months. Mind you I had other things going on and didn't have the time to keep e-mailing over and over. But it was like my e-mails were being eaten.
Eventually I did try again and the same individual told me a replacement pair had been sent several weeks earlier. (Of course no one had told me this) When they finally arrived I tried them on. This time the tread looked firmly attached on both shoes, but the left big toe exhibited the same pinched/shortened toe pocket. Everything else was pretty much perfect, but the slightly shorter toe and extra material inside the end made for an uncomfortable fit, and I'm sure there would be a nice blister if I tried running in them. I wore them around the my room for an extended period just to make sure, but no go.
I emailed Zem back with the news. The original ticket had been closed and a new individual was helping me, but it was again obvious they weren't quite getting the issues. After several in-depth e-mails with photos and no real resolution I haven't heard back from Zem for about a month. I don't know if I dare try again. (Zem, if you read these...help)
To summarize, I really like the concept of this shoe and overall the 12's have served me well the past 6 months (self-repair frustration aside). And heck, I even want to help make them better by providing feedback to Zem about what works and what doesn't, but there appear to be some serious issues with tread adhesion and a little slop in quality control. And if your issue falls outside the scope of Amazon's return policy or you order direct from Zem, good luck working with customer service. I recommend you try the shoes in person if you have that luxury, both for fit and a good inspection of the tread. Hoping my frustrating experience is an isolated case, but proceed at your own risk. =)

Ok first, great for traveling, there's no reason to not take them anywhere. I'm a guy, but i bet it's great for girls to keep in their purse when they're out in high heels but want to come back in comfortable shoes. You can roll them up, wash them easily all graet stuff.
Now about the comfort, GOD i have to walk a lot while i'm traveling, but when i have these on i NEVER GET TIRED. Moreover if my feet are tired from aesthetic shoes (aka regular shoes that serve the sole function of looking good at the detriment of everything that has to do with the FUNCTION that feet perform) the zem shoes REJUVINATE your feet after a tiring day.
RUNNING= WOW you feel like a sports car with these on. You constantly want to rev the engine. You feel SO AGILE in these shoes, you can blitz past a crowd (like a kid). You feel like you're on a motorcycle.I got the split shoes because I heard they dont let your feet slip around like the round toes do (i've never tried those so i dont know, but the split toes do NOT slip)
Draw backs:
1. When it's wet, the cloth upper soaks in water (but really who cares, not like youre wearing socks)
2. If your pants are loose they are going to drag on the floor as they would when youre barefoot (solution: buy pants that fit, you slob)
3. THE MAIN DRAWBACK= THEY ARE UGLY UGLY UGLY!!!!!!!!!!!! (only for the split shoe). You and your crab feet WILL get stared at wherever you go
Here's why the are ugly-it's not the split toe itself but because (to save cost) they simply use the same sole for the round and split toe, and simply slice the split toe. What this does is leave an extra corner of fabric and rubber in the corners of the split which gives a crab claw look to your feet. If the sole was rounded off around the split it would look a LOT better, but i understand they like to save cost and use a single mould for the sole.
Anyway all in all, no regrets!
I've had heel problems for some time, so I tried the 5 Fingers, which were nice, but a real hassle to get all 5 toes in. The ZEMgear just fit. It's still winter so I've been wearing them with toe socks (they also work with regular socks just fine). They have not gotten stinky with socks on.
The first time I wore them for a one mile walk downtown my feet were aching! After a half mile of running my calves were unbelievably sore and stayed that way for about two weeks. But after lots of short runs (1 mile max) and consistent walking in them, I just ran 4 miles today for the first time in 2 years. My feet feel great, they feel stronger, my calves are stronger, and I'm probably walking right for the first time since I was a kid.
Update:
These will last for about 3-4 months of casual running. They are not durable, but I still love them.
I wear these with tabi socks, and I consider being able to wear socks an advantage. However, even with socks my ZEMs are a tiny bit big for me, and I hope ZEMgear will make plans to create smaller sizes.
Finally, the taping around the opening can get frayed at the ends still room for improvement there.
EDIT: My new favorites are now the ZEMgear Terra, which have a more robust sole suitable for both indoor and outdoor practice. I could not practice on rough asphalt pavements in the 360's because the traction pads would start to peel off they really are better for relatively smooth surfaces. In the Terras, however, I can practice movements which require turning on a weighted leg without fear of damaging the soles (other than normal wear and tear, that is). The Terras soles also wrap up around the sides a little, just enough to protect the toes and keep the sides from abrading. I still enjoy the 360's, but I now use them for indoor-only practice.

I was going to give 5 stars, but they are WAY TOO UGLY!!! But first let me tell you how great they are. Here are the main perks:1. Super light, great for traveling

Super comfy, easy to slip on and off, and after three weeks my feet feel great for the first time in years. I have wide feet and these feel way better than other "minimal" shoes like the Saucony Hattori. These will change how you walk and run though, you cannot land on your heel in them.I've had heel problems for some time, so I tried the 5 Fingers, which were nice, but a real hassle to get all 5 toes in. I wear these for indoor tai chi (taijiquan) practice, and so far they've been great. The split toe style allows the foot to expand naturally, and the lack of extraneous padding helps with balance and flexibility. They are also durable enough that I can walk to practice in these if the weather is dry. Traction is very good without being sticky. These are also much more affordable than most other minimalist alternatives popular in my class such as the Vibram FiveFingers. The 360's are an improvement over the classic style Ninjas with less noticeable inside seams, a more molded shape, and much more attractive styling.I wear these with tabi socks, and I consider being able to wear socks an advantage. However, even with socks my ZEMs are a tiny bit big for me, and I hope ZEMgear will make plans to create smaller sizes.

New Balance Men's MR940 Running Shoe Reviews
Just wore this pair out and about to buy another. Amazing shoe for stability foot pattern runners who average 20+ miles a week running. Didn't have an issue until about 350~400 miles which is about average for running shoe life. Will buy again and again until model is discontinued!!!

Sizes run small and I had to purchase a size larger than normal. The shoe fits and wears well. This New Balance 940 replaces the older version 850. I walk 5 miles a day and average about 600 miles a pair before I have to replace shoes. These are my favorite running shoes. Better stability and arch support than most running shoes. Nice snug fit. Not the lightest shoe, but good for the amount of stability. Length is maybe a quarter-size smaller than other popular brands, but my normal size fits well.

I've been running for over 25 years and always suffered from horrible blisters on my instep during long runs (6+ miles). I was convinced I'd never be able to run a marathon b/c of my blistering problem. These are the FIRST shoes I've had that I have not blistered ONCE...not even the first run straight out of the box. I've done over 100 miles on my current pair and they are as comfortable and supportive as ever. I'm training for a half now and planning for a marathon now! I'm filling up my closet in case they ever stop producing them!

Reebok Ziglite Running Shoe (Little Kid/Big Kid) Review

My son has worn zigtechs for the past couple years. This style did not hold up well at all. I would consider a different zigtech style.

Great shoe. I vowed never to buy Nike, but these are light, cushy, supportive -and perfect for my runs. I had a pair of Lunarlon and loved those so I tried the Lunarglides they are wide for my wide foot ... have an amazing arch support for my somewhat falling arches and the heel is like marshmallow ... ok maybe not like that ... but I have bad knees and this is the only shoe that makes my knees not hurt when i wear them. They keep my foot in the right position so no pronating or the other way ... they really are an awesome sneaker ... and for color ... ORANGE way cool ... I have them in Lime and Yellow as well ... Brooks Racer ST 5 Running Shoe Reviews
I was in the market for a racing shoe that favored a minimalist design but provided a bit more support than the previous shoes I have tried I run between 35-40 miles a week. A friend of mine coaches for an local endurance sports program and recommended these shoes, he wears them and swears they are MAGIC.
I ordered the shoes late on a Tuesday afternoon and they arrived by lunch on Thursday. Amazon Prime never lets me down!
I put the shoes on right out of the box and ran a 6 miles. Good fit, no rubbing, very comfortable and it gives me the cushion I need without being a clumpy bulky shoe. Very light weight shoe but it provides enought support to wear for half and full marathons. I plan on running in these for the Chicago Marathon and feel confident these shoes will get me to the finish line.

My first Brooks. I used it for my first 70.3. Very comfortable. Great support. Great for training or racing. I don't like the laces , so I changed it for Lock Laces. Great for 21K or 42K. I normally run in Nike Free Runs 2 which really work for me. I wanted to try something different and ordered the ST5. The weight is slightly heavier than what I am use to and they are not as flexible as the Nike Free Runs but they have more stability. Despite that, the ST5 is a very smooth ride and you do not feel the weight once you adjust and start running fast. The only thing that I have problem with is that it has a low arch and I have a high arch which can be troublesome for me during longer runs like 10 miles. I start to feel pain in my arch but may be corrected if I change the inner sole. Anyways, because of the great stability--I use it for short trail runs at Griffith park and to the Hollywood sign which works just fine!!

I bought these shoes for my husband. Luckily he looked into the brand before buying and learned that the sizes run a bit big so he went to the store and tried on a similar pair before buying. The shoes came and fit perfect and looked great. Packing was perfect and the shoes were in perfect shape, just as if bought at a store. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that my husband says they are not very comfortable. The do look really good though! Bought these for my boyfriend because he actually had the same pair over a year ago but our Great Dane Puppy ended up enjoying them as a chew toy.. Best Salomon Men's Quest 4D GTX Hiking Boot Deals
I am in Afghanistan and I needed some light boots that would breathe and give ankle support for the mountains. I carry a decent amount of weight and the slopes here are steep and jagged. These boots have been amazing. I put on my Belleville boots a few days ago and was just disgusted in how terrible they felt on my feet. The Salomon's are the best boots I have ever worn. A++

I did something no experienced backpacker would ever do: I took a pair of boots from the box and wore them on an 8-day trip in California's Sierra Nevada mountains without breaking them in.
I went a half-size up to accommodate socks with more cushion and I did replace the insoles with a pair of orange Superfeet. As used, the pair weighed 4 pounds.
The results were amazing! Right out of the box, they were fantastic. Day 1 was 10 miles over a 12,000 foot pass carrying 50 pounds. I weigh 225 pounds. If I was going to grind my feet into a blistered mess, this was going to be the day. I couldn't believe how comfortable and stable they were. The trail quality changed frequently, but these Salomons handled it all.
I did a lot of cross-country travel in pursuit of some of the peaks and passes in the area. I was pleased that while bushwhacking the knots on my laces came undone, but the locking system kept my boots snug. The locking system also allowed me to apply and keep completely different tension between the upper-half of the boot from the lower-half without having to do any complex lacing.
From talus to scree to knife-edged rock the boots took a lot of abuse without getting significantly cut or scuffed. I only used them 8 days, but from what I saw, they'll be good for many trips to come.
And with numerous creek and stream crossings and afternoon Sierra showers, my feet stayed dry without cooking in the boot.
I rolled the dice with these Salomons and I couldn't be happier with the outcome.
This is by far the most expensive pair I hiking boots I've ever purchased. I was able to try on many different kinds in a retail store but kept wanting these (which they didn't sell). I originally ordered the size 12 and they were a bit too big so I sent them back and got the 11.5. The fit is perfect. I'm so glad I had that voice in the back of head telling me that the extra money would be worth the investment to get the ones I researched online. I've been wearing them everyday for about a month now breaking them in (which they do not require much breaking in at all) and just finished a 4 mile hike in the woods with them wearing my 40 pound pack getting ready for an upcoming trip. I wanted to wait to post my review until after they were broken in and I had used them in a real world situation. These boots are very light, very comfortable, water proof, and provide awesome ankle support. I stood in 4-5" of water for one full minute and not a drop of water came through (I did treat them with a water tight spray as suggested).
One issue I had (which was a fear from other reviews I had read) was squeaking with every step from one shoe. I could hear it faintly at first then it got louder and louder as I went on. By then end of the hike it was all I could hear and it was driving me CRAZY. I was out to enjoy the sounds of nothing and nature, not a boot that sounded like an animals squeaky toy. I did a little research and ended up calling Salomon directly and found out that tightening up the laces at the toe of the boot would resolve this. It did, and boy am I glad!
Overall this is my favorite pair of boots I've ever owned. I have a two week trip coming up in two months so if anything changes I will be sure to update my review. The bottom line is, I would not hesitate to buy these boots again and again.

I got these boots because I needed a pair of light weight boots that could be used in rough terrain that had characteristics that could with stand some moderate weather. These boots did the job all around except in the area of walking on side sloping terrain. On this type of terrain the bones in my feet really took heavies. I am going to look into RDT/E'ing a pair of Lowa "Tibetan Pro's" or a pair of Lowa "Baffins" to see if I can take care of the side sloping terrain lack of support issue. Never encountered adverse weather in these boots but did walk through a fair amount of water and mud and the boots never soaked through. These boots may not be the best choice for carrying moderate to heavy weight on your body, but for light loads they appear to be a good choice. You can pretty much take these boots out of the box, strap them on, and go hike. They do not require any real break in. I covered roughly 45 miles in rough terrain in 4 separate days of hiking carrying roughly 30 lbs. of gear for an 10 hour period each day. They are a good boot for 4th class rock climbing and scrambleing. These boots I thought were the best I'd ever purchased. I've had these boots for a little over one year and wear them frequently. The protective toe cap started coming apart from the leather as well as the bottom traction or as they call it the advanced 4d chassis. Ok' so I suppose I'll e-mail Saloman for the warranty (no E-mail) alright that was a bummer I'll call them after 45 minutes being on hold listening to repetitive piano tunes I gave up.
