This is my second pair of the NB WR10v2 running shoe. I also have the purple color. I have been running in minimalist shoes for 10 months. This is my 4th pair of NB Minimus (I also use the NB hi-res for runs under 7 miles). I run 30-40 miles a week, and wanted to start rotating this pair with my other. I am a size 9, but always go up a half size in running shoes. These have a wide toe bed, yet are still tight enough throughout to feel comfortable. Not so loose they rub, but not too tight. No blisters in either pair, ever! I use these for my longer runs (over 8 miles) as they have a bit more cushioning in the heel than my other minimalist styles (but remember, this is not near as much as traditional running shoes). They are pretty light, I like the white for hotter days. If you are new to minimalist running, you need to ease in, by using them for walking around, then eventually short runs of 2-3 miles, before taking them out on longer runs and I would suggest going to your local running store to have an assessment before ordering. I bought my first pair at my local store, but they only had one color. They suggested I order from online :)
Maybe the slits are there for more flexibility in the shoe? So your foot can breathe better? I don't know. And it doesn't bother me, until it rains or the ground is wet. The water gets through the sole of the shoe, saturates the insole and your socks and foot.
VERY annoying. Also very disappointing since these are otherwise the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn.

I have to admit, I was skeptical getting these. I had tried them on in a store so I new exactly what size I wanted. The store did not have this color and as it turned out, the price was better here on Amazon. I got these for both power-walking and casual wear. I LOVE THEM! Really, these are so much more comfortable than I ever imagined. I feel so good walking in them. I do suggest if you are not used to going barefoot, you work into using them for extended miles or time as your feet will need to get used to them. These shoes are very comfortable... until it rains. For some reason that I haven't figured out yet, there are two slits on the bottom of each shoe between the tread (if you look closely at the sole picture, you will see them. There's one near the ball of the foot and one near the heel).Maybe the slits are there for more flexibility in the shoe? So your foot can breathe better? I don't know. Buy Saucony Men's Grid Fastwitch 5 Running Shoe
I was fitted with this shoe by our local running shop, which is staffed with some hard core runners. Now after three seasons of offroad "xterra" racing my cheap butt must now purchase another pair. This shoe really came through for me at a regional point race when we came up on a creek too wide to jump. I just hunkered down and ran right through. The poor sucker in front of me had some good shoes but no drain holes, so he instantly had a couple of cement blocks at the bottom of his legs. It's nice to pass guys like that, knowing that they're completely "disarmed" and no longer a competitive threat. It's all good, don't hesitate to pick up a pair, you won't be disapointed.

A very minimalist shoe designed for racing (maybe on a track?). On the pavement I wouldnt want to go much further than 5K in these. Not much guts to the midsole, probably by design. I was expecting a good midrange trainer that I could get a half marathon race from, but wouldnt try it in these. To each their own, I need a little more EVA or air or gel or something. It is light, pretty flexible, and breathes really well. It has enough support that if you are a fairly efficient runner, you can use this as a daily trainer. I've always been a Saucony wearer. Note that this shoe is best for running and not for just casual wear. It's light and not thick around the shoe side edges.
Merrell Men's Barefoot Rapid Glove Review
Very similar to normal Merrell Trail Gloves, but they are just too roomy and without laces you can't tighten them up on your feet.
Pros These are decent water shoes, with some arch support. Well made. They have a molded hard sole and good handle on the heel to pull them on. They are pretty comfortable once you have them on.
Cons They are HARD to get on. I wear a size 10.5, and I thought I would not be able to pull them over my foot. They do not stretch AT ALL. That said, once I am able to pull them onto my foot, the fit is correct at 10.5, and they fit comfortably and snugly. Also, the adjustable strap you see is for decoration only, it doesn't really do anything (so don't be fooled). The Arch support could be better. It is there, but it is minimal.
The real difference between these and the fancier ones is the arch support and sole inside the shoe. It is still minimalist, but better than the cheap ones. I MIGHT buy these again, but I would sure try on a few more before I do.

Normally I don't take the time to review products, but I felt I had to with this one. I purchased the 10.5 size. I had read that they were "very hard" to get on in some cases, and another review said that the strap was meaningless, that if you loosened it, there was no difference in the difficulty of getting them on your feet. Well, I have to disagree. At first I tried to put them on without loosening the strap and, yes, they were difficult to get on. But then I loosened the strap and they went on just fine. They do fit "true to size", and I'm glad they come in 1/2 sizes. I have a slightly wide foot and these fit perfectly. They have to fit snug around the top to keep out small rocks etc that are encountered in rivers, on the beach, in the water etc. Don' hesitate, buy em : )
Cheap K-Swiss Whitburn L VLC Running Shoe (Infant/Toddler)
These shoes look very nice. And my toddler moves in them very well.The only downside is the tongue isn't very cushy. So when i had ankle socks on my daughter it rubbed her leg a little raw. Now i just put cuff socks on her when she wears these shoes. Definitely look nice though.

These are great! Low to the ground cushioning is great for responsiveness and great support for lateral movements. Fits like a glove because the tongue is attached to the bottom of the insole, plus the insole has a type of memory foam functionality where your foot sinks into it which eliminates any movement in the shoe.
I thought this shoe was going to be bulky but it is very light weight thanks to the heat-gear material on the toe and around the collar.
And you do not get any crease on the toe. They also have laces that do not come lose because of the rippled texture. Also flexible, was not hard to break them in at all.
Probably not the stylish of shoes but if your looking for functionality, support and comfort this is the shoe for training.
I'm hoping they are durable and last a while too.

That shoes look great, so I ordered them (11.5). But it's tight after I difficulty put on. Actually, my size is 11.5. Anyway, I decided to keep them because I thought they could be stretched while I wore them. Unfortunately, it won't happen, so I went to the store for seeking another UA, and finally purchased UA Strive III that fit better than UA Micro Defend.

Let me begin by saying I've been running with the NB WT10 shoe, and as much as I LOVE them, my feet get a bit tender from running on roads. I looked around and tried on several different minimalist shoes trying to find a good minimal feel without the tenderness I've been getting with the trail shoes. I tried on the Minimus Road, the Brooks Pure Connect and a few other I don't remember. The problem I had with all was it just felt like too much padding under my foot. I wanted protection without extra fluff. The second I put these shoes on I was in heaven. I read the few reviews available to see what others had to say and they all were really positive. I did read that most had to go up a size, I actually went down half a size to get the feel I wanted. The toebox is nice and roomy with a tight fitting heel. The shoes are very well ventilated. My only gripe as far as construction goes is the laces are really cheapo and I'll be switching them out. I also like how they aren't flashy shoes, I'm a plain jane kind of girl, I don't need neon shoes to be cool, I just want to get out there, do my thing and not draw tons of attention to myself. I love the design of these shoes.
I took them out for a run after buying them today. Just a 2-mile run because I'm slowly rehabbing an injury and these shoes just did it for me. I felt connected with the pavement and didn't even feel the tender spot on my foot until the end of the run.
I would not recommend these shoes for a heel striker. I run on my forefoot and have no issues with these shoes, but I bet for heel strikers they would be painful. I don't know if they would be good for someone wanting to transition because I made my transition in the trail shoes.
That's about all the important details I can really think of. I would definitely recommend these shoes, and will more than likely buy more pairs before New Balance screws it up with a newer model. I hope this review has helped. Happy running folks!

I ordered a 7.5 for my running shoes, and I love them. There's so much wiggle room in the toes width-wise that I never have achy toes after a run. I view these as my "step up" from minimal/barefoot shoes because while there's not a lot of cushion, there's still some.
I would suggest ordering true to size if you're using them for errands and daily wear, but if you intend to use these as running shoes, I'd go at least 1/2 size up, maybe a full size if you have long toes :)
**UPDATE** I have been running in these shoes for about 6 months now, and as one reviewer also stated the mesh is starting to come apart, right where the foot bends. However, it is just the top layer of mesh that has "worn" and the shoe is still very much usable, there is no hole all the way though... and looking at it, I don't think there will be. This has happened on both of the shoes I own, my running shoes are a bit worse than the other pair. This would NOT deter me from buying this shoe again.

I originally bought a pair just to wear around for daily use/errands and such. I really loved the style and color. I love these shoes because they are so very comfortable. I have bunions, and the mesh on the sides of the shoes makes it possible for me to go on my daily dog walks with no pain. They also look cool. I have two pairs of these shoes.

Looks great, not as comfortable as other Sketchers I've had. That pretty much sums it up. These are a little stiff and don't seem to have as much cushion as Sketchers typically do.
Cheap Powerstep Pinnacle Adult's Insole
I'm an ICU nurse, and I developed a plantar fasciitis. I had the choice between paying $200 to a podiatrist for customized inserts, or trying something off the shelf. I researched it online, found good reviews for the Pinnacles and tried them spectacular! Took a couple days for my feet to get used to them, after that walking was so much better, the pain went away when I was wearing the insoles. Then, after 2-3 months, the plantar fasciitis resolved and hasn't returned. I love these!
He was immediately attracted to the heel cushioning aspect of the Powerstep Pinnacles and went on to wear them for a couple of hours a day for several days. He said that they began alleviating his pain almost immediately. He felt the insoles repositioning his feet during the break in period and used that to guide him as to how long to wear them before taking a break. In any case, they've been show-tested and although he is not pain free he finds them very helpful and I am going to get him several more pairs here at amazon for distribution throughout his flock of footwear. If I were going to buy one pair only I probably would get them on ebay where several vendors offer them for about the same money with free shipping.
He typically wears Merrells, boots and outdoor sport type shoes, in a 10-10.5-11 size range. Swapping out the Merrell insoles with a pair of 10-10.5 size G Powerstep Pinnacles was simple and easy and did not require altering the insoles in any way.
Regarding the Superfeet Black, he did try them out. They are currently installed in a pair of his Merrell Chameleon mid height boots, which I notice he's not been wearing. When I asked him about the Superfeet he told me that because the Superfeet do not have the immediate cushioned feel of the Powersteps he doesn't feel inclined to persist with them. Now I just spent several minutes examining the two pairs of boots housing the new insoles and, to me, although the Superfeet are overtly sans cushion there really isn't a whole lot of what I would call cushioning in the Powersteps either. But apparently it makes all the difference for him.
I wanna say that I am profoundly grateful for all of the information freely available from the amazon community in these reviews. You folks surely are a generous bunch and I continue to be amazed by and very thankful for you.

I used these for 1.5 months before the top fabric liner began to fall off. I contacted the manufacture of the product and they replaced them for free (I paid to ship the defective ones back). The manufacture said they have been getting complaints of the liner failing recently. My second pair is also already beginning to fail after only a few weeks. They are very comfortable but just unusable when the top liner falls off and balls up under your heels. I purchased two pairs of these orthotics for my husband and adult son who are both flat footed. My husband's podiatrist actually recommended these inserts to improve an issue he was having with his ankle joints sagging due to his overpronation. These immediately reduced his ankle pain and swelling and with regular use have corrected it. My son had a similar problem with his knee due to his flat feet and these completely cured the problem. Amazon offered these orthotics for more than $10 less than offered at our local store. I always check out Amazon first whenever I need ANYTHING and I am never disappointed!
Cheap Vasque Men's Velocity 2.0 Trail Running Shoe
I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail and wore two pairs of these shoes from South Lake Tahoe to Manning Park. I chose these shoes because they have a stiff (but heavy) sole like a boot but are well ventilated on the top like a trail runner. With the addition of Superfeet Insoles, these shoes performed admirably and kept my feet well protected from the rocky, sometimes volcanic terrain. The ventilation on top meant that I could walk through a river in them, and my feet and socks would be dry in 1 to 3 hours of walking, depending on the outside temperature/humidity.
After 1100 miles, the first pair developed a big tear in the mesh above the toes such that the only thing keeping the black rubber toe guard attached was the sole. I hope that a future version of this shoe includes a strip of nylon down the center of the toes (similar to the sides) for additional durability. With the second pair, the top lace loop tore after 2 days, a defect that gave them a little less support on the top of my foot. Other than a few small tears in the mesh, however, this pair is still going strong after 500+ miles through Washington (Goat Rocks, Glacier Peak, etc.). I would recommend them to anyone hiking with a pack weighing less than 30 lb., but not without replacing the insoles, as these (like most trail shoes/boots) wear out in about 20 miles and are totally inadequate for more than a single day hike. As for their fit, the toe box is wider than most standard shoes, and I bought them one shoe size bigger than my normal shoe size to accomodate wool socks and the larger insoles.

Fits narrow in the heel, which is great for me. My feet are fairly narrow. Toe bed is good. Excellent cushion. I use this as my walking (3-4 miles daily), hiking, biking and knock-around shoe. I have difficulty finding a good fit for my feet and suffer from severe pronation, which led to achilles tendonitis and planter fascitis. This shoe has performed well for on year. Skechers Women's Shape Ups XF - Accelerators Lace-Up Fashion Sneaker Reviews
I have to say that I'm in love with the new XF line from Skechers! I already own a pair of "regular" Skechers Shape-Ups and I really wanted something lower to wear while jogging on my treadmill. I decided to give the Accelerators a try and I am so happy that I did -they are awesome! The kinetic wedge seems to be a different material than the kinetic wedge in my regular Shape-Ups. I don't know how to describe it other than it's more of a smooth, shiny rubber and seems to be more durable than the original kinetic wedge. I have the light blue/silver Accelerators, but I like them so much that I'm going to purchase the black version. Another thing that I really like about these shoes is the mesh paneling. My feet don't get as hot in them. I've also noticed that the insole is different from the original Shape-Ups. It's a smooth material and has more perforated holes for breathablity. I'm so pleased with these shoes that I won't go back to the original Shape-Ups. These are fantastic for athletic activity and definitely more stable. FYI -I've found that these shoes run true to size. Enjoy!

Maybe it is because she was a figure skater for 14 years and so is used to having to balance when standing without side support and has good ankle strength from her skating. I don't know but in any case she has been wearing them for about a month now and the only complaint she has about them was that they need to have a wider selection of colors. Not that the colors they have are bad, but she likes some colors they don't currently offer in this particular model of shoe though they do offer the colors she likes in other models but those models don't have the same features she wanted that this model does have. Perhaps when they are out for a longer time Sketchers may widen the selection of colors further.
These sneaks have a more "sneaker-like" profile, meaning, less of a curve on the heel, which I think makes the shoe look more like a sneaker and less like some of the original shape-ups, which seemed a bit orthopedic looking for my taste. Yes, I know that seems vain and all, but I'd like to be comfortable and still wear something reasonably nice looking. I liked the choice of colors in this particular sneak. I generally gravitate towards white and these were nice as they are white with dark purple at the sole and some of the accent spots, with a little, (but not too) much light purple. They come with two sets of laces, white and light purple, so you can switch them out if you like.
Ok, now that we are done with how they look, let's get to how they feel and how the sizing goes....I ordered up an entire size on these. I tried a half size and when my foot rolled forward I felt my toe hitting the top of the shoe, so I wore medium thick socks and bought a size up and they fit well. I wear an average width shoe and for me these have plenty of width for what I need. If you are thinking, "My feet are going to look huge....", somehow they don't, so don't worry. I would, however, buy at least a half size up. I wear between an 8.5-9 and went with a 9.5 and they have a good fit. If you consistently wear one size, going up a half size would probably do.
Walking in them....I was really expecting this to be a bigger deal, since some people had told me to walk just a little while for the first week until I got used to walking in them. I wore them though for a 3.5 mile walk and then was basically on my feet all day. It is a little weird when you first put them on, as they have this rocking sensation, but you get used to it rather quickly. I likened it to wearing ice skates and walking on the rubber mat before you hit the ice, except you are a lot closer to the ground. Some say it feels like walking in sand, though I think walking in sand is alot tougher.
Was I sore the next day? No, but I do exercise daily, so I didn't expect any huge difference. The one thing I did notice was that doing yoga the next day, I seemed to be even more limber than usual when doing some of the stretches (like down-dog). It also seemed to do the same with my husband's hamstrings (we bought our shoes at the same time), so I do think it has a lengthening effect to some of the muscles.
One thing I will point out is that if you are looking for maximum calorie burn, the shoes are rated on the box, the originals have a "high burn" and these sneaks come in at a 2 out of 5, and are meant for extended fitness and wearing all day, the originals seem to have a higher sole and so if you are looking for more burn, this might not be what you want. For me though it was perfect.
Included in your box is an instruction booklet, a healthy eating booklet and a dvd. A well put together package.
Overall, a good shoe, extremely comfortable and if you buy on sale or on amazon a good value for what you get.

I have a lower back issue which flares up when I do alot of walking, and bought these on the recommendation of a friend. I balked at the $100 price tag, but as we were headed to the state fair for the day I sucked it up and bought them. I'm so glad I did. I made it through the entire day without any problem and thse are now my favorite shoes for just about everything except going to work (I would wear them there to, but we're not allowed to wear sneakers.) As soon as I put them on I noticed my posture changed, I usually make a conscious effot to walk with good posture and these made me do it without having to think about it. My one complaint is they are not aesthetically pleasing. I bought the black and blue ones which seemed the least oldladyish. (I'm 27, I shouldn't hve to wear granny shoes!) Under jeans they are not as noticably weird looking as they are on the shelf at the store. I really wish sketchers would put out some work appropriate ones. If you have lower back pain, try these. These shoes are amazing! I received them two days before leaving on a vacation to Disney-Orlando. Without a break-in period, I was skeptical I could wear them comfortably, but they surpassed my expectations. Fit as well as my well-worn Nike's and kept me going all day while on my feet and pushing a wheelchair. At the end of the day, my back, legs, and feet weren't sore and aching and they felt just as good the next morning. I wore them the entire length of my stay and can't believe the superior performance and cushioning they provide. Normally I wouldn't buy a black athletic shoe, but these were well designed with bright blue accents and come with both black and matching blue laces for different looks. I urge anyone at any age to buy a pair. The best money you'll spend!
