Although I haven't worn my Firetail GTX's yet I love the style and the weight and the ability to change out the souls fit. They are exactly what I was expecting and I'm looking forward to my first adventure in them. I'm not a major mountain hiker, just someone who loves to go with friends and go 8-12 miles when I can. I do love some mild hands on rock climbing as well. I read lots of reviews before I purchased these so I'm hoping they will go the distance with me.

These shoes were to be my approach shoes climbing steep rocky trails to the crag in Colorado. I previously owned a scarpa boulder x that worked well but were not as grippy as these vibram soled shoes. Also, they were not waterproof and I needed shoes that didn't get soaked while walking is snow, mud and little streams of water. I usually wear a size 7-7.5 street shoe but ordered these snug (like my climbing shoes) at 6.5 for steep approaches that require a more secure, less sloppy footing. I saw a deal on amazon and decided I should go for it since I already know my size and like the shoes anyway. Ordered it and over 2 weeks have passed and no shoes arrived in the mail--apparently the courrier delivered it to the wrong address! Amazon was nice enough to offer to replace and refund the item but I couldn't wait another 2 weeks so I just opted to refund and buy them at the local Bentgate. Good job handling it amazon, boohooo on the carrier! Mind you, this has happened to me 3 times already but amazon handles it graciously enough that I come back to give them my business. Good shoes and good job amazon.

I searched for a waterproof shoe that I could wear for mostly day hiking and found the Salewa Firetail's. After much research and reading other reviews, I bought a pair of them and I LOVE them! I didn't want an "oversized bulky hiking boot" and these are sleek and have just the right amount of room with medium weight socks on. (I would say I have an 'average size foot') They seem to be true to size (I ordered the same size I wear in Asics running shoes). I love the eye catching color and I get plenty of compliments from other hikers on the trail about them! They provide great traction on hard surfaces and kept my feet dry when going through patches of slushy snow and water. I've never owned a Salewa shoe before but I would highly recommend these. They were wicked comfortable right out of the box ... a keeper for sure!

After extensive online research, I chose this shoe for an upcoming Kilimanjaro climb. Tried it out first on a treadmill and found it very stiff and uncomfortable. Since I had never owned a pair of Salewa's I thought they just needed breaking in. I tried various sock thicknesses as well as adjusting the inserts with no significant improvement. After an 18 mile hike which ended with aching feet and a couple of blisters (so much for their blister free claim)I took them off and haven't had them on again. I wear a size 6 medium width. Would not recommend. Pros: Shoe is well constructed and I like the ability to adjust laces close to the toe.

These are really stiff shoes so I'm still trying to break them in 3 months later. They grip rock great, but I wish I could tighten the laces more. By the end of a 8 hour hike, my feet have a lot of wiggle room, which is pretty uncomfortable. I probabaly should have returned them asap to get a 1/2 smaller.

Normally I wear size 8 in my sneakers, 7.5 in dress/casual shoes. Ordered the 8 but feel like it's a little too big.

Vivobarefoot Women's Ultra Pure Running Shoe Reviews

Pros: I love vivo shoes and have a pair of Breatho trails that I wear whenever I can. I got these for gardening and dog walking on hot days when you need something more stable than thongs but just as cool. These are good for both those activities.

Cons: I've worn these on the beach and they're not great water shoes because the drainage holes are all on the top of the shoe. This means that once you've stepped in water, an inch of water stays sitting in the bottom of the shoe. The holes also let a lot of sand a grit in which can be very uncomfortable.

I've edited this review and changed it from 4 to 5 stars. They're still not good beach shoes but I've been using them for almost everything else through the Australian Summer running, gym, etc and I love them. I'm wearing them even more that my vivo brethos. They lose points for fashion because they look like crocks but they're the most comfortable summer shoes ever. I often wear them with ordinary cotton sports socks unless it's very hot.

I saw these in the " SKY MALL" on an airplane. They haunted me & eventhough I DID NOT write the info at the time, when i got home I HUNTED amazon for hours until I found them!!! EVERY time I wear them I get comments. They are REALLY cool & DIFFERENT. SUPER light & comfy. The only complaint I have is that they are VERY WIDE & run large ( I wear a 61/27 but because of the customer reviews I got a 6, which fits well EXCEPT that they R WIDE.) I'm not a fan of the clunky crock look, but I really like them A LOT anyway. They R great on the kyak, & anywhere around water. Cute & FUN. A great buy!!!!!

These shoes are exactly what they claim. Barefoot...really just vented protection that feels like you're running without shoes. If you require more cushioning and/or arch support, you should probably look elsewhere. I bought them for a mud run next month since they're made of rubber. I have run in them and liked how they feel, plus the holes are great for ventilation. I wear nice running socks with them for a little extra cushioning.

This one was specifically requested by my cousin in India. So I had to purchase and send it to him. Initially I wondered if the size would be fitting for him.. since I myself have few shoes with 11, 11.5 and 12 (varying brands, but all fitting perfectly). But once he tried it on, I got the update that the shoe was true to size and it fit him perfectly! He apparently loves the shoe and pretty wears it while on his sleep as well. This was not a comfortable fit for my feet because it had a groove around on the side of the arch that did not fit well. I found that buying these online was too risky and went back to the ones I first purchased at the shoe store.

I purchased these orthotics after having them recommended to me by a local specialty shoe store that I trust. I have them in a pair of neutral New Balance running shoes that I liked except they lacked sufficient arch support. These Aetrex insoles definitely provide enough arch support for me, almost too much in fact. I am 6'2" and 201 pounds and run about 20 miles per week and am therefore pretty hard on footwear. These have proven to be quite resilient and durable and I recommend them to anyone who has an appropriate foot shape to need the level of support they provide. I have noticed that my feet and knees feel better after running with these in the shoes (versus the stock New Balance insole,) but they do take some getting used to. I find the arch support to rise and fall without much subtlety under the midfoot area, which feels a bit akin to having half a tennis ball under your arch for lack of a better analogy. I'm not discouraging their use in any way, but I think my arch shape is a bit less highly sloped at the margins for these to be quite perfect. I plan on using these until they wear out (which at this rate could take a while; I've been running with them for two months now) and then trying something else. I have no objection to them other than they feel quite pronounced in my shoe, especially while standing or walking.

UPDATE 7/29/13: Sadly, I have to update that the mesh has a tiny tear after only wearing these to Zumba class at the gym a few times :( I'm sad as they were my favorite shoes!! I have them in 4 colors and 2 of the 4 have a little mesh tear :(

I received my shoes today and thought Id try them out on a shopping trip. I absolutely loved them! They are some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn! I have had plantar facitis and also had surgery to have a facia release, so my ortho doc recommended wearing shoes with good shock value and arch support. If I wear anything else I am in a lot of pain. These shoes were just what I needed. Good support and like walking on a cloud! I did however order them a size bigger, and I am glad that I did. They fit great and give me a little toe room. My feet are very wide, and I found that these shoes in size D are just perfect. I am glad that I bought them and will definitely buy them again!

Regular Asics wearers, beware! In comparing this shoe with the same size and width of the Nimbus-15 and the Kayano-19, I found that I had to go half a size up in the Cumulus to get a comparable fit. I have been wearing Asics for years and have always worn the same size (9D), but this shoe is definitely short my toe practically hits the front. The 9-1/2, though, fits the same as the 9 in the other styles. And on first try it's a very comfortable shoe with ample cushioning and a nice heel cup so my heel doesn't slip.

Great stylish shox. Although they squeaked quite a bit a first they have now been broken in and have quit. The only thing that I even remotely dislike about them is that since they are made out of a leather material they are beginning to get creases and wrinkles but overall great shoe.

Background: I have tried two variants of Asics shoes, a Saucony Triumph, and some other styles of Adidas shoes. I used to like the Adidas Adistar and bought a few pair at the store when they were on closeout. Those lasted me for a couple of years of off and on running with over 400 miles on each. When it was time for a new shoe, I bought the Adidas Ride 4 (which was supposed to be the same as the Adistar) and the Supernova Glide 4 shoes which were significantly cheaper. The Ride felt more comfortable in the store, but when I am running, the Glides just flow so smoothly. My gait feels natural and I never feel like I am clomping which I have had at times with all of my previous shoes.

In the spring I bought a pair of Glide 5 shoes hoping that they did not change it much, and I feel that both shoes run pretty much the same. I love these shoes. My Glide 4 shoes are now above 350 miles so it is getting near time to retire them. I typically cycle between 2-3 pairs of shoes and was running 25-30 miles a week until the last 8 weeks or so when I started training for a marathon and now am doing 35-40 miles a week. The last few weeks I have been using the Glide 4 and Glide 5 almost exclusively. My legs feel better after my runs with these shoes and my injuries have improved significantly. The Glide 4's are doing really well at high mileage and the Glide 5's have a bit over 100 miles on them now and going strong. My brother also bought a pair of the Glide 5 shoes and likes them a lot also. The longevity of my Adidas shoes has been excellent, and I expect that to continue with these shoes. It really is hard to explain why these shoes are so good, other than that they let me just run and run smoothly. My stride feels better in these shoes than any other shoe I have worn. I don't get blisters (even with 20 mile runs), and the cushioning feels about as good as it can be. I am planning to go out and get another couple pair now that I have verified (over the first 100 miles) that I like the 5 version as much as the 4.

Despite my high praise for these shoes, I still highly recommend you get fitted and try them on in an actual running store. Each person has different requirements in shoes and it is really a personal preference thing. If you need a neutral shoe with decent cushioning, make sure you give these a try.

I got this shoe in a different color, but they are outstanding! They do a fantastic job cushioning my feet, which has led to no knee or foot pain after running. Unless you know precisely what you're looking for, I wouldn't buy shoes sight unseen without getting properly fitted at a running store. It makes such a dramatic difference, much more than the few dollars you'll save online.

July 2013 update:

They were initially fantastic, but they literally fell apart within a few months under light use. Extremely disappointing. Sent an email to customer service, initially responded, but then blew me off. I would avoid Adidas running shoes like the plague. I don't expect shoes to last forever, but to fall apart as these did is stunning.

These "new and improved" insoles are nothing like the original 2oz Miracle insoles. They are thin and stiff, and your foot doesn't sink into them like it did with the old ones. I'm extremely disappointed that they changed the design and wish they would bring the original design back. My opinion: save your money.

I was not satisfied with the purchase I made ,as I did not recieve the items I purchased, which were to be as shown in this advertisement. They were totally different than what I had expected and I was dissapointed, as I had purchased ten pair. It is my thinking that the picture shown should have been the items I recieved, but they were not, so I think you should remove the picture to prevent someone else from making the same mistake in ordering something they will not get. Had some one informed me that these were not the ones shown, I would not have purchased them and had to return them, only to lose my shipping fees for returning a misadvertised product.
