This shoe is very comfortable. It's great to run in and do any sports as well. I'm 260 and run about 10-15 miles a week along with racquetball and speed agility drills. They lasted 3 months of heavy abuse, especially at my weight, and loved every second of them. If you are a normal person who needs a shoe for running and cross-training in I would highly recommend these.

For the life of me, I could not find where the recommended size lace was. I purchased the 34" laces for a size 8 medium width running shoe 6 eyelets on each side. It's a perfect fit. I have about 3 inches leftover. Other than that, my shoes are easy on, easy off nice snug fit and easily adjustable! You can't beat them! Great gift for the runner in your life, someone who has difficulty in bending to tie their shoes or even the seniors!

Ordered these out of curiosity and I was pleasantly surprised! I am an avid runner of about 30 miles a week and put these on my Saucony Kinvara 2's. I pulled them tight and they kept my foot snug without it being too snug (I like snug feet!). The reflective properties are there but not very noticeable, still, any visibility is better than none! They look weird but any true runner doesn't care about looks (ex. split shorts). Overall a good, durable item!

A friend gave me his pair of iBungee laces after he tried them and was dissatisfied with stretch laces generally. Plain and simple: I love them! I'd recommend them to others, especially runners and triathletes. Very nice in racing shoes, too, and completely eliminates the risk of laces coming untied.

PROS: They lace up like regular shoelaces, then you slide the ends through the spring-lock and, optionally knot the ends together so the spring-lock can't inadvertently escape when they're loosened. The laces are really easy to adjust, tighter or looser, both at the spring-lock as well as along the shoe. The spring-lock uses a strong spring and hasn't lost its grip on the laces in >500 miles, something I can't say about the Lock Laces in my son's shoes. These make it very easy to customize the fit of the shoe along the foot, to snug it where you want and keep it from being over-tight elsewhere. The reflective model has a more textured surface that slides less easily through the lace holes, so perhaps the non-reflective version might self-adjust and distribute tension evenly as you run. That could be good or bad, depending on what you're trying to accomplish. For me, the forefoot and ankle portions can be differently tensioned and stay that way with no further attention, even on runs of over two hours.

CONS: I have the reflective model and have noticed that the reflective portion seems to be "darkening" at the upper portion of the laces, which gets more frequent travel through lace holes and the spring-lock; the lower portion still looks like it's fresh out of the package.

Got these laces as replacements in my NB minimus shoes. Men's size 11 and the 38-inch length is a little longer than I actually need. Could have been 34 inches without a problem. Aside from that one small issue (easily fixed with trimming) these laces are fantastic. Shoes slip on and off, and the fit across my forefoot is wonderful. Nice and easy to install. Great product, will be buying more.

It seems like you have a choice most of the time between lightweight boots that offer little in the way of support, or big clunky boots that take a year to break in, and are never very comfortable.

This boot is the best of both worlds.

Excellent grip and foot stability, without feeling like you're wearing a cast. The lateral support is the amazing thing about Salomon boots and trail runners. Even with the laces loose, your foot won't rock.

Out of the box, I took these on a long hike, then two consecutive backpack trips, and there was no break-in time. After walking 60+ miles, they still look new. The waterproofing is adequate, and even on hot days, my feet were dry as a bone in the evening, which says something about the breath-ability. I am also impressed with the large toe-box. My toes were never compressed together, and there was plenty of room to flex.

Another plus is that these boots are true to size (depending on the manufacturer, I can wear a 7 to an 8. These are a perfect 7.5).

I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a lightweight boot that doesn't want to compromise on support.

I've been searching and I've found my boots. These are winners. They seem to be unisex boots: Rugged, well-built, and wide enough, thank goodness, for non-dainty feet and two pair of socks. No breaking in necessary. I wear them with gaiters and Superfeet insoles. I've no problems with dirt or tiny pebbles. No worries on a 30-mile backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania. I didn't bring a second pair of shoes not even Crocs. I wore the boots until tent time, three days in a row, and felt fine. Crossed streams and mud covering the books. Kept dry. They've passed the test, and I'm a happy camper. Thanks, Salomon, for getting me through the trip; I'm looking forward to the next one. Also, I like the look of these. Black, and fairly sleek. Nevertheless, they've got the space and traction that even clunky boots advertised for winter use don't deliver.

Careful allif you buy this shoe, the sizes go by US man and NOT US lady, as expected.

These are the first Salomon footwear I've ever bought. I do a fair bit of tramping/hiking here in NZ and have always used heavy, full-leather Scarpas. Why stomp around with heavy boots on, with no cushioning if you don't have to? I'm a slow learner ;-)

These boots are fantastic. Light weight, sturdy, good flex in the forefoot so you can walk properly. Still stable enough to carry a pack or go off track through steep, uneven terrain. Pretty supportive despite low-cut ankle.

The sizing does run big, though. I use the EU measurements and got a size 40 (US 8). Perfect!

Salomon if you guys read these reviews, please don't stop making these boots!

Must say these boots were comfortable and perfect right outta the box! In terms of women's boots, they run slightly big so suggest going for the smaller size that you normally revert to (I take a 9 in a sandal and 9.5 in a closed-toed shoe but in these, I'm definitely a 9.) These Salomon Discovery GTX boots are sturdy and have a medium width so even narrow feet (like mine) can adapt using thicker socks. The best thing about the boots is they have a neat look about them, they're not clunky like many I have tried on and not a smaller size of the men's version. So ladies, if you want to be stylish, functional and comfy, highly recommend.

I was sooooo disappointed with these sneakers. My son is four, and granted I did order one size up so he had room to grow in them (he had tried on another pair of Merrell's at a local store in the same size and they fit fine), but he can't even wear these, when he runs his feet come out. The z-rap part on the top isn't adjustable, unlike on his keens where you can pull the excess strapping and make them tighter, these you can only make looser. My son is very disappointed as well, his favorite color is red, so he couldn't wait to wear these. Normally I love Merrell's, but these were a major let down.

This sneaker fits smaller than other we ordered in the same size (Size 4 Big Kid). It fitted, but my daughter would outgrow it in a month. I also ordered same size Saucony sneakers and Timberland boots in the same order and they both had more room lengthwise. So, I would go at least half size up in these Merrells.

The quality looks good to me, given, that you know that you are ordering a lightweight sneaker for warmer weather or indoor gym. The fabric is thin, the little feet can breathe in them. Definitely not for cold weather outside. Also the look is super stylish. I had a good deal on sale and I would have kept them if they were bigger. But I ended up with Sauconies and returned these.

I am a 25 to 30 mile a week runner, I was a loyal (any) running shoe fan, But decided to give Brooks a shot after my wife was such a fan.... I wear neutral shoes so I thought changing shoes would not be a big deal. So my first pair of Brooks I purchased the Ghost 3,I ran in these for about 6-7 months going through 2 pair seem like a great shoe light and felt great. Then I purchased the update which was the Ghost 4 and I immediately noticed the difference, did not feel the same as the Ghost 3 .... Not to be critical of the Ghost 4 model but, my feet had comformed to the Ghost 3 and the change was noticeable. I decided to look for a couple of pair of the Ghost 3 to buy could not find my size ....I went to a running store to try on different shoes to try and get that feel again of the Ghost 3, after trying on different brands I tried on the Glycerin 9 by Brooks and this was the greatest feeling shoe I had ever tried on...Any avid runner will know what feeling I had because it was almost therapeutic. I know this is my experience and may not translate to anyone else but, if you are looking for the best ride you ever had in a neutral running shoe the Glycerin 9 is the shoe for you. Insanity and P90X workouts require lots of jumping in every direction. The main reason why I bought these over other Brooks and Nikes was because of the front cushion that almost all shoes under $85 don't have. My arches were killing me doing Insanity and now they don't. There are many other positives including long shoe-life, comfort, breatheablity, etc that other reviews say.

I put these shoes through some abuse and they are hands down best shoe for me. I will start with a little bit about me. I am 5'6, 170lbs, 8.5 shoe size, an 11:20 mile and a half, I have P.F, regular archs, with heel spurs and under pronantion. I took a huge risk buying these shoes before Officer Candidate School (OCS) but I did a lot of research and these shoes kept popping up so I bought them with a pair of Asics. In OCS we run about 20 miles a week and go through very intense training. I wore these the first 8 weeks and all of my aches and pains were gone, it was like running on clouds. I liked them so much that I'm buying another pair. They were slightly heavier then the Asics but they were more comfortable and durable.

The Boots look great, but when I first put them on, the steel toe rubbed my large toe slightly. After four hours of wearing them, both sides of my foot were too sore to continue wearing them. One person suggested that they needed to be "broken in", but I am not tough enough to break in the steel toe on the boot. The steel toe looks like it belongs on a regular or even narrow boot. I am now the owner of $186 boots that were worn only 4 hours.

While these are not Made in the USA like other Danners, (from what I can tell, all molded sole boots are not US made) they are the best mid-priced boot I have ever bought. They are made on a wide last (the 850 according to Danner's web site) and a D fit my very wide foot but was a little narrow. Not narrow enough to stop me from buying them however. I wore them in non-hiking boot condition, like in concrete pours and industrial construction. They lasted two Oregon winters where they were constantly wet but kept my feet dry. They would spend each night by the heater and then wore again the next day. They lasted 1.5 to 2 years under these conditions. I've bought construction type work boots that lasted half-that time but cost almost as much and others that cost more. As far as the color, they are not bright orange like suggested by others but they are not brown. A little leather conditioner changed them to brown however.

Great boot...and very comfortable.

UPDATE: 2/13/2013

Just bought another pair of these yesterday...definately not orange. I bought these in a 10.5 EE and they fit great. They are even more comfortable than I remember. Very good boot. I did apply a boot grease and the color definately changed to a darker brown.

Boot is great still.

Dear friends of Amazon,

I am reviewing the Danner Instigator GTX Gore-Tex (uninsulated/no thinsulate etc...), boots. I am military, law enforcement, and an avid hiker... so I was expecting a boot which fit the description which Danner labeled to the letter. My Danner military boots have lasted through many battles (on and off the field). However, BEWARE!!!! These boots, while decent quality compared to similarly priced boots on the market, are not what I'd expected. For one thing... Unlike the photographs... they are by NO STRETCH of the imagination BROWN with TAN highlights!!!!! These boots are as orange as a pumpkin! As both military (uniform) and law enforcement (uniform) requirements are very specific, I discovered that these boots ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE under any conditions to wear for duty. And then I figured, "Well... I'll just keep them for hiking then!" But, as soon as I undid the laces, and prepared to try them on for the first time, I quickly discovered that they have a LEATHER collar around the ankle section.... another misstatement, as DANNER claimed they had a cloth/gore-tex like material which comfortably surrounds the ankle! Yeah right! That's on the outside!? It's cloth on the outside, and leather on the inside? HUH? Anyone who does ANY hiking will tell you that that is a friction problem waiting to happen! Remember those rub marks when you wore crappy boots as a kid? So I called them to get my money back. They supposedly have a "no questions asked" FREE returns policy right, which was one of the reasons I'd picked them too! But (again), since I'd ordered them through the MILITARY website, they would not take them back (nor would they take them back if you got them on AMAZON either she explained)! So, now I am stuck with a pair of boots which CANNOT be worn with ANY clothing imaginable(unless your going as a pumpkin to the next Halloween party of course)!

PS. Also bought an extra pair of the "supposedly" impact dampening inserts too. They were $16, and no better than the cheap gel Doctor Shoel's (however you spell it) inserts one can obtain at any drug store for $6. But don't believe me... come on and waist your money too! My advice is to look at customer photo's on each site, as when one tries to take a picture of them THEY DO look brown and tan! But when you take them out of the box in the regular light they are not! First pair of shoes I'd describe as functionally and visually HIDEOUS!

My 4th grade daughter loves these shoes! She has the gray/purple/turquioise version and they are not too girly, but still feminine enough for mom's approval.

She has several different problems with her feet and these sneakers provide a stable platform that relieves pain in her feet, hips, and knees. It was surprising how much they helped! This is in addition to stretching and strengthening exercises.

Have a pair of these and they are by far the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. The size fits true to size and has good neutral fit. Very light and cushions your run very well. Have ran in a half marathon in these without issue. Tread wears a little quicker than other shoes but otherwise great shoes.

Cheap Skechers Men's Go Bionic Ride Running Shoe

I've put about 200 miles on my Go Bionic Rides now, in runs ranging from 4-13 miles. The flexibility, roomy fit, lightweight materials, and slightly more cushioning than your average minimalist shoe have combined to make these my current favorite.

Only one drawback, which I've seen mentioned in multiple reviews -the tendency of the insoles to slide around and bunch up when you're running. This didn't happen to me for at least the first 100 miles, but now it happens so frequently that I've taken them out. This makes them less comfortable for longer runs, though I think they're fine without the insoles for runs up to 6-8 miles. For longer runs, I now add a non-Skechers insole purchased separately, which works fine.

They've handled the first 200 miles fairly well. There is some noticeable wear at the midfoot, but I suspect they'll make it through another 200 miles.

All in all, a great shoe for minimalist runners at a relatively good price.

I've always steered clear of the Skechers brand. I thought they were ugly shoes that kids found cool and personal never found any appeal to them till just recently. After curiously walking into the recently opened Skechers store in my local mall these shoes immediately caught my eye. I'd seen them in commercials and they caught my attention because they didn't look like what I thought a Skechers shoe would look like. After recently getting more into running and pursuing a more natural running form I thought I'd give them a try. Much to my amazement I love this shoe more every time I ware it, to the extents that I have stopped using my two month old pair of Saucony Mirage 3's ($110 shoe). The cushioning is just enough were it is very comfortable without being weighed down. The upper is AMAZING and they are just a joy to use. I've taken them out on some shorter runs no longer than 5 miles and they feel great. Also, I have used them at the gym and just simply walking around and I have yet to be disappointed. So if you've thought about trying them out and said no because they have that God forsaken S on the side, GIVE THEM I TRY, I was that guy to and now I can say that if Skechers keeps this up I will definitely be back for more once I ware these out.

These go bionic ride sneakers from Skechers are incredible because they form fit your feet when you put them on,

plus at the same time they allow plenty of room for your toes to spread out, they support your feet well, they give

you enough cushion, and they are incredibly lite and comfortable, all of this at the same time. They are a very fast

sneaker and you can really run fast in these because of the for-mentioned above. They are a minimal material

sneaker that also makes them fast. With that being said, and depending on the surface your running on; I would

recommend these sneakers for shorter runs. For example: let's say anywhere from 3-6 miles. I also feel that these

sneakers would be well suited for anyone involved in track & field for events such as 100, 200, 400, 800, & 1600 meters. As I've mentioned before in others reviews is that through Amazon the delivery time for these sneakers is

really fast. These are excellent high performance sneakers that I highly recommend.

I ordered these after reading a review in Runner's World magazine. I did not have high expectations for running in them, but they were stylish and the review raved about them, so I ordered a pair. All I can say is WOW they caught my attention.

I am an avid runner and wear New Balance Minimus routinely for my shorter runs of 3 to 6 miles. I ran in these several times now for these runs and have to say I thought the Minimus was like wearing socks when I run, but these take the category. They are extremely lightweight and most of all flexible where my Minimus are not. I will repost once I have some miles on them to share how durable they are and if they pass the test of time, but for now I am sold.

I am now looking at the entire lineup now for a more structured shoe from Skechers for my longer runs and Marathon training.

A really weird thing about them is they have no insole (really... look at the picture) I couldn't believe it until I looked a second time. You can feel the stitching in the shoe and there is no cushion, they're hard, it's exactly like putting a shoe on without any padding from the insole. I'm so happy Amazon accepts returns, I shipped them back pre-paid postage and received a refund in two days. GO AMAZON!!

I have high arches and short fat feet. Needless to say it is nearly impossible to find shoes that fit my feet as either they are flatfooted and kill my arches or they are not wide enough for my foot. Vasques have been the first brand of shoe I've found that makes shoes that adequately support my arches WITHOUT having to add an insole.

I have tried 3 of their models, the mind bender, the velocity, and now the transistor fs and I passionately love every single one of them. My feet are singing hallelujah every time I put them on. Not too mention they hold up well, even in the roughest terrain and offer lots of traction which is important to me because i often go hiking in muddy slippery terrain (gotta love that Oregon weather)

One comment though, buy a half size up from what you normally wear if you have short fat feet like me because they do tend to run a little narrow on the pinky toe.

I recently joined a friend for spin class and found out how great this workout is!! I noticed that many people had the spin shoes with the SPD clips and decided to buy a pair to help enhance my performance. I am also a runner and found that when I was riding out of the saddle it put a lot of pressure on my plantar through my workout shoe. The spinning shoes have a hard sole which alleviates that pressure. I read a lot of reviews and decided to try the Pearl iZUMi shoes as they have good feedback and are reasonably priced. BE AWARE you really should order these shoes 1/2 size larger than what you regularly wear -especially if your foot is not narrow. I made the mistake of ordering my true shoe size. During my first class with the new shoes my toes were squashed into the toe and were throbbing the next day (may even lose a nail on the tall toe). I returned the shoes and ordered a half size bigger which fit perfectly!! The sizes are Euorpean so they don't truly measure true to US sizes; hence the problem (e.g. a size 40 is actually a 7.8 in US sizing). Love these shoes now so comfortable and they have truly made a difference in my performance in spin class. You will need to order the SPD clips (they don't come with the shoe) and they are relatively easy to install (check out you-tube videos) or if you need to, have the bike shop install for you.

I love this shoe. The order came in quickly, so the service was very good.

I had read the reviews and based on one of them, I ordered the size 39. I am a size 8 but I had purchased shoes in Europe before and the 39's had fit. One of the reviews here stated that the shoes ran a little large, so I thought I was safe but it was not the case. I returned the 39's and ordered the 40. They fit perfect, so I believe they run very true to size.

I bought the shoe for a road bike I purchased. I know these are a bit of a cross over shoe but based on the type of riding (and walking upon my arrival), as well as wishing to use them for spinning class, the recessed sole for the clip was important to me and makes walking much easier when off the bike. The profile of the shoe is very sleek, so it does not look like a mountain bike shoe.

The metallic trim color is very light and attractive. I was afraid it would be a bit glitzy and it is not.

Very attractive, very comfortable shoe that works well on my road bike and in spinning class.

I take a spin class a few times a week so that was my primary reason for purchasing. Before that I wore my regular gym sneakers. I notice a big difference wearing these shoes vs the regular sneakers. They are not super stiff however there is a huge difference in stability while spinning. My only issue would be that I didn't realize that they did not come with the cleats and those are sold separately. I just purchased those at a local bike shop and they put them on for me.

Other reveiwers posted about small sizing, but I've had mixed experiences when I deviate my normal 8.5 size. Ordered 8.5 and shoe is very snug. I did not return as I waited too long to open the box : ) but the fit is still find for my indoor spin class

Pearl iZumi is a great brand so I should not be surprised that these shoes are super comfortable and fit true to size. I was told to order 1/2 size up and I did; however, size 10/ EU 43 was too big. I'm a 9 1/2 in sneakers and the 9 1.2/10 EU 42 fits perfectly.
