These sneakers saved my feet. I started running more recently and went through two pairs of shoes trying to find something that didn't hurt. I have over-pronation and medium to high arches, and these shoes were great. Super light, super comfy, but tough enough that I wore them hiking and running through the Sedona trails. Great buy!

Cheap Brooks Women's PureGrit Lightweight Trail Running Shoes

About a year ago in response to a stubborn case of plantar fasciitis I began consciously changing my running stride to more of a mid/forefoot strike. It did seem to help the PF a bit, so then I started wondering about going a little more minimalist. Five-fingers utterly repel me (eeeyewwww!), but certainly there are a lot of standard-shaped minimalist shoes out there, and I'm beginning to think there may be something to the idea of promoting a more "natural" running stride.
On the other hand, there are oodles of stories of folks jumping "feet first" into barefoot running, and promptly getting hurt. More injury I did not need!
So I was seeking a transition, a shoe that would promote a mid/forefoot stride, have a minimal heel-to-toe "drop" and no artificially engineered "correction", yet would still provide a reasonable amount of shock absorption/protection from road and trail hazards.
Having run in Brooks shoes for over a decade, the Brooks Pure Project line seemed a logical place to start. I first tried the Brooks PureConnect Mens, which was super light and super comfy on first blush....but alas, upon actually running in them, the arch proved to be super high. Darn. Back to the store they went. I exchanged them for my second choice, the Pure Grit, and was immediately delighted. While the Grits are a bit heavier and less flexy than the Connect, thanks to the beefier outsole geared for trail running, they are a tad wider (as others have noted) and the arch is nowhere near as high. Ahhhh! REALLY comfy, just a delight.
I've read many, many reviews noting the unfortunate issue of the Grit's slippery soles in wet conditions. I haven't yet had occasion to run in them in the wet, but I've heard that Brooks is already hard at work on the next generation to fix this. I'm not too concerned; when it's wet I'll generally be running in my Adrenaline ASRs. But in dry conditions....well, let's just say all my other running shoes have been pining away from lack of use ever since I got the Grits!
Initially I wondered what my mileage limit would be for the Grits--how long could I run comfortably in them? They're so much less structured than my trusty Adrenalines, and when I get tired and my form starts to slip, reverting back to a bit of heel-striking, will I pay for it? Well, so far my longest run in these has been 17 miles, with nary a problem. I generally run roughly 70% trail, 30% pavement; the Grits perform just fine on both.
Addressing some of the minor quibbles I've heard about this shoe: I've had no problem with the gratuitous elastic strap over the top of the foot/tongue. Getting the lacing just right so that the shoe was snug but not cutting off circulation did take a bit of doing, but that's the case with any new shoe. Overall, the strap is a non-issue for me. I think it's just a gimmick, quite frankly.
Similarly, I find the split toe of the outsole to be no more than a gimmick. Honestly, what difference does that make?? Aside from the valid complaint that, yeah, one does tend to pick up pebbles in it, there's not much more to be said about it.
Otherwise, the Grits are awesome. Light and springy, with just enough cushioning to keep them this side of barefoot. With the tiny heel/toe drop (I believe it's 4mm?), they absolutely promote a mid/forefoot stride, so they're a wonderful transition shoe if you're thinking of trying barefoot, but don't want to move too fast. Heck, the Grits are so awesome, I don't think I need to go any farther myself.
The one qualifier I think to be aware of is that I had indeed been focusing on shifting my running stride for a year before I got these. If you are a current heel-striker (or semi-heel striker, as I was), you may want to go a bit slow ramping up with the Grits. For me, a 17-miler within the first couple weeks was no problem. Those just starting to move off their heels may want to take it a bit slower.
Overall: AWESOME shoe! If they fit, you find them comfy, and you're looking to trend minimal, the Pure Grits will make you Run Happy! Looking forward to an improved, non-slippery outsole next year. I've already bought a second pair of the current model to keep at the office for lunchtime runs. Yep, I'm sold!
On the plus side, this is the most comfortable sneaker in the history of shoes as far as the cushioning and insole--even though it's a minimalist runner. (the only downside is no arch support)

I always buy Brooks shoes, but these are by far the most comfortable I have owned yet. My legs and feet never feel fatigued in them. Will another pair.Best Deals on Brooks Women's PureGrit Lightweight Trail Running Shoes
I chose this product because I want to have a backup pair of running shoes. I have owned brooks running shoes before and I have always like how they cushion my feet. Brooks shoes generally run snug. I ordered a half size up and that took care of the fitting. I have already run a 5k in these and I plan on wearing these to a 10k in a week. I would recommend these to those who want less drop.Honest reviews on Brooks Women's PureGrit Lightweight Trail Running Shoes
I suffer from severe pronation, so I have always had to wear huge, heavy running shoes with tons of support. But I couldn't find anything like that for trail running shoes, so I decided it was time to give minimalist shoes a try. These were recommended to me for pronation (although from what I understand, they are good for many types of feet). From the moment I put these on, I felt like I was flying! They are so lightweight. Also, it completely changed my running stride. With such a small drop, I found myself running correctly--hitting on my midfoot--for the first time. I was worried I would be a bit sore, or my knees or other joints would ache (a usual side effect of my horribly flat feet), but I actually found my very first run with these to be completely pain and ache free. Every other run since then has been the same. I couldn't be happier, finally free of the big clunky stability shoes!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Brooks Women's PureGrit Lightweight Trail Running Shoes
I have this shoe in a man's size 8, which is a little big without my Spenco insole. I ordered the woman's size nine because I loved the color and my woman's sizing can run from 8 1/2 to 9 1/2. Unfortunately, the 9 was far too short, and because this is last year's model, there was no 9 1/2. Back they went.On the plus side, this is the most comfortable sneaker in the history of shoes as far as the cushioning and insole--even though it's a minimalist runner. (the only downside is no arch support)

Just one word: LOVING, LOVING, LOVING, they are a little bit wider at the TOE area than the regular adidas, true size, I ordered 8.5 and they fit what it is, Is Adidas, that's why... Very comfortable sole and very smooth walking ....
The support in the shoe is very basic. I would not recommend these for running. They would probably make great water shoes. They are comfortable, so that is a saving point. Probably won't buy them again, but they'll work for the time being.

I ordered black/pink size 8, I think it runs half size bigger but since i have wide feet so I just keep it. the shoes are very comfortable and cute, I love the color and it looks exactly same as the picture.Best Deals on adidas Women's Liquid 2 Running Shoe
In the pictures, these shoes look cute. Up close, not so much. The look very industrial and quite frankly, I think they are butt ugly. I feel like I should be working in a construction zone wearing them. In the summer, these will be a nice lightweight shoe as they are completely breathable, but wearing them outside in cold weather will freeze your feet. Since the majority of the shoe is made of a mesh-like fabric, be aware that if it rains, if you step in a puddle, or walk near water or snow, your feet WILL get wet.The support in the shoe is very basic. I would not recommend these for running. They would probably make great water shoes. They are comfortable, so that is a saving point. Probably won't buy them again, but they'll work for the time being.

I normally wear an 8.5 and when I got the first pair they were HUGE! I exchanged for an 8 and they are still pretty big. I would suggest ordering a full size smaller than your usual size if you want them to fit correctly.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for adidas Women's Liquid 2 Running Shoe
These shoes look good pictures, but they look very different in person. They fit very differently as well, I normally wear a 10, but these were at least 1.5 sizes way to big!Reviews of Mizuno Men's 9-Spike Vintage G6 Low Baseball Cleat

I have owned several pairs of the Mizuno 9 Spike low top metal spikes over the years, so I thought it would actually be safe to order a new pair on line since I have been unable to find them in stores. Well, much to my dismay the 9.5 size that I have always bought and were wearing at the time was way too small when it arrived. Not even safe to purchase shoes on-line when it is the same model worn for years. Minor tweaks in the design which all would've been fine, except the sizing has clearly changed drastically. For those that have worn these in the past, you probably need to go up a full size for them to fit properly.

A previous review had noted that the sizes as listed were no longer correct and were off one size in the too small direction. Unfortunately I didn't rely on this and ordered shoes to fit anyway. They were a size too small. Since I my choice on the return ticket was "wrong size" it was considered my error and I had to pay return shipping when I fact I ordered the correct size but the shoes were not the size marked. Suggest if you order that you get 2 pairs, one the size you need and one a size larger. One should fit.Best Deals on Mizuno Men's 9-Spike Vintage G6 Low Baseball Cleat

I love these shoes! I feel Like I have extra energy just by wearing them!
And they are so incredibly light that they make feel like I am walking on clouds!!! The only thing is the only last 100 miles for running in and I wished the lasted longer!! So far so good I've gone 10 miles in them and they are still holding up great!
about these shoes: i bought a pair of these at an expo, i was running the disney wine and dine half marathon with my girlfriend the next day. I originally put them on as a joke because spira has springs in them (gimmick), but I just wanted to see how they felt. Well i could not feel any springs in the shoes, but i could hardly feel the shoes at all they were so light. they felt so good i decided to run the 1/2 marathon with them, and i have not looked back since (4 marathons and counting with these shoes).
a word of caution, although the shoes are great and also hold up great, i still train in my heavy saucony's. I only use these for speed workouts to really bump up my time (as well as get used to wearing such light shoes) and on race days. i also have a pair of nike free's which are nearly as light (much lighter than the saucony's), but they do not produce even close to the same results in speed. PM me if you have any questions, i'm happy to answer if you're comparing to a different type of shoe.
More and more, I run only in the Spiras, with some long runs up to 12 miles. I have had no foot blisters, knee, or back problems with the shoes. I now have approximately 600 miles on them and am buying another pair. I know some sites represent them as 100 mile shoes, but for my use, protecting my feet for pavement while keeping everything minimal, they are perfect and probably better than Nike Frees (although I haven't tried them.)
If you're looking for ultra light weight foot protection, very flexible and breathable, this is the shoe.

I have ran competively since the mid 70's when I was in junior High. I bought my first pair of Nike's in 1977 as a Sophomore in High School(Anybody remember the Waffle Trainer then the Elite?). That's all I wore until May of 2010. As I got closer to the age of 50 all the heel striking began showing up in nagging injuries. I had a stress fracture 3 years ago and a very achy knee two years ago. I started reading about the benefits of running only on the balls of your feet and bought the Spira Stinger Elite (the spring is only in the forefoot)in May of 2010. After my calfs got used to a new running form I have never looked back. Despite the claim that the shoe is only good for 100 miles, I have put over 400 miles on a single pair in a year and half. I have had no injuries and am running very comfortably for an old man (I turned 50 this year). Looking forward to competing in some senior olympics while I wear my Spira Stinger Elites. Highly recommend this shoe.Best Deals on Spira Stinger Elite Mesh Racing Sneaker
I purchased these running shoes on my husband's recommendation. My feet are quite damaged from years of running, followed by contracting Rheumatoid Arthritis. I need the width of a man's running shoe combined with a large toe box. Due to the RA I have very little arch left and I have developed "hammer toes". These shoes comfortably hold my orthotics and now that I am retired I wear them everywhere. I definitely recommend them, even if the neon yellow and bright red takes some getting used to with street clothes.Honest reviews on Spira Stinger Elite Mesh Racing Sneaker

I bought these shoes through Skymall while on a plane. I liked them from the beginning and alternated running with them and Nike air max. I noticed pretty quickly that my times were about 1/2 minute faster per mile with the Spiras. Shortly after buying them, I read the book "Born to Run," a book that demonstrates pretty effectively I think that man is better off running with less foot protection to avoid injury.More and more, I run only in the Spiras, with some long runs up to 12 miles. I've been a New Balance fan for most of my life, but recently bought a pair of sneakers that just did not fit. I went back to the drawing board and selected these online (I got them directly from NB). I have wide feet and usually get a D width, which is what I got with this pair. I LOVE these shoes. They look nice enough that I can wear them with jeans, they are great for running, and I expect them to hold up nicely for hiking in the summer. I highly recommend them, especially if you have wider feet like me, and have trouble finding shoes that fit properly.
Great running shoe. Purchased a second pair. Light weight. Great construction, durable.

I bought these snow boots for my 5 year old, and after attempting to try them on, there was no way to get her feet into the boot due to the narrow and stiff ankle part of the boot. She was supposed to wear these for school when it snows and then change back into shoes for inside, and there is no way she would be able to get these on herself I couldn't get them on either without hurting her having to send back and find another style. Too bad because North Face is such a good brand normally.

I've been wearing Wave Elixir's for the last 3 years and I really like them. They instantly had a higher performance feel to them and their slightly "firmer" feel really felt good. I don't put on a ton of miles (run a local half marathon,5k or two, 8-10 miles per week average overall each year) so far they have all held up really well. They are lightweight and very breathable. I could be wrong, but the stability control built into this model does not seem as drastic in other "stability" style shoes I've worn in the past and the overall feel is a bit firmer than others I've worn. I'd say if your looking for something not quite so "squishy" feeling give these a try. Don't get me wrong they still have some forgiveness, just not as much which I guess I seem to prefer.
The color of the Amazon photo on my computer screen makes the trim look almost purple, but it's actually blue. Also, these new ones fit almost exactly the same as my older pairs so sizing seems to have stayed the same between the slight redesigns.
The elixir is very similar to the Inspire. I believe it is lighter and some difference in how much support more or less? Can't remember.
Pretty good shoe. Would use again but the Ronin's are way better.

I bought these shoes for indoor use; not for running...I use Asics and Saucony. The shoes feel good. There is not a lot of breaking in period. But, the stitching started fraying within a few weeks. I did not contact the company or Amazon, because I do not intend to use the shoes for anything more than walking around the house. However, if you intend to buy these shoes for sport, inspect them carefully upon arrival to make sure you do not encounter the same issue.

Like other reviewers have said, these are one of the most comfortable running shoes I have ever owned right out of the box. I love them and have already put about 30 miles on them feeling great no hot spots or anything! I have relatively flat feet so sometimes shoes with really strong arch support make my feet ache. These have support, but don't do that. If you have really high arches, these probably aren't for you, but medium to low would do just fine.Honest reviews on Reebok Women's Realflex Speed Running Shoe

I purchased these shoes for my 5 year old son. They are beautifully designed and are super lightweight. The fact that they are as lightweight as they are is an added bonus. The straps and velcro hold up very well and after months of having them do not show terrible signs of wear and tear on them. There is nothing worse then having velcro shoes not last very long for a high energy child. The overall structure of the shoes are still in tact even after having them for 5 months. The soles are not starting to fray or pull away from the shoes.
I purchased the Black/Royal colored shoes. While the color blue in the picture gives you the impression it has a hint more purple in it, it does not. The shoes themselves are a true blue color. So don't let the picture deceive you.
Overall these shoes are awesome and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

These shoes made a great impression on arrival -bright, very light weight, and seemingly well designed. Unfortunately, the material used for the soles of the shoes is far too friable for my 8 year old son's activity level. Six weeks after purchase, the box around the toe is completely worn away, exposing the upper material and rapidly on its way to being worn completely through. I'm in the process of ordering another Skecher's product in the hope that the sole material is a bit more durable, but even at Amazon's competitive prices, I can't afford to replace his shoes nine times a year...
