Just received these and have fallen in love! The fit on this is absolutely
true to size and very comfortable. Not too much swimming around anwhere in
the shoe and very comfortable.
I will wear these every day and have worn in the wet weather. Great grip
and water resistance and just heavy enough to resist the elements well. Decent
cushioning and very comfortable at the sole. Ran in these 1-2 times and they
offer very solid support. Sole is very grippy without being too thick or
heavy. If you are planning on very heavy trail running (lots of rocks, etc.), these
may not do the job for you, but otherwise a perfect match for the outdoors.
Look like they are also very well made and I expect will hold up for a
long period. Look, fit, finish and quality is A-1. Very snazzy IMHO.
They seem breathable, but if you plan to wear these in very warm/hot conditions,
they might be somewhat hot. Hasn't bothered me at all yet, but this is probably
because of the Gore-Tex built into the outside. For the winter/fall, this is
exactly what I was after.
Traction off-road was excellent up muddy hills. This time of year we have wet leaves on the ground which requires some caution with any runner wearing any shoe. In general, I have found a tire tread pattern seems best for off-road trainers.
The fit is true to size. I did not have any heel slippage. However, like most running shoes today, there is a pair of small ankle lace holes which one can use.
As a rule, I typically replace the flimsy factory inner sole with an orthotic style inner sole to support my flat arches. Unlike some running shoes, these did not come with various sized arch support inserts.
Other than some mud puddles, I have not had a chance to test the gortex.

It just seems that new shoes always feel good, since the elasticity in the sole is still new. However with an all around running shoe, like this trail runner, one has to take it off-road for a bit as well. The shoe is not the lightest but keep in mind your stride. I find the weight of a shoe helps maintain momentum when running at a constant pace and these shoes seem well suited for my build, 5 foot, 11 inches with a 32 inch inseam.Traction off-road was excellent up muddy hills.
