Uncomfortable, and quality is not as expected, i have other NBs that are made in England and they are way better quality than these.

Not worth the 140$ I paid for it!

I don't recommend it.

Best Deals on New Balance Men's M1300 Day Tripper Classic Running Shoe

I purchased the M1300 Day Tripper Classic because I like the New Balance brand, and LOVE that the shoes are mainly produced in the USA. When I received the product, my admittedly high expectations were not met. The comfort of the shoe is average. If I were to compare this product to another pair of New Balance that I have worn (the NEW BALANCE Running Shoes M990GL3), the comfort level is much lower, and the fit is not the same either. Although BOTH pairs were made in America, the M1300 are not made with the same quality, as the inner sole in one shoe has already come out, after only wearing the shoes 3 times. The price tag in the shoes is also NOT forgiving. Also the Day Tripper was only 30 dollars more than the aforementioned other pair I had purchased previously, 150 dollars for shoes is expensive. I expected the product to be excellent, and it was not. Therefore, I would NOT recommend this product. Honestly, I would like to return it, but am unsure if I am able, since they have been worn outside.

I have wide feet and it is difficult to find a comfortable shoe/sneaker that doesn't hurt or pinch in the wrong places. These are great for day hiking with my dog in the woods. Deep treads have good grip on all terrain. The styling is nice, too. A good looking shoe that doesn't make my wide feet look bad or frumpy. True to size.

I've owned these shoes for about a year now and love them. I am very fussy about shoes and didn't want to review these until they were proven. I think they look great and they are very comfortable on long serious hikes. I'm sure they would also be great around town, but I reserve them for hiking. They clean up easily and are very light. I highly recommend them!

I love these boots. They support my feet and let them breath. I wear them instead of tennis or running shoes, they are so comfortable. I've put 135 miles on mine so far and they are still great. I liked them so much I bought a second pair for when (IF) these wear out.

I bought a pair of Vasque hiking boots more that 20 years ago for hiking. They are pretty beat up after 20 years but still serviceable!!! That's why I bought these Vasque hiking shoes; I hope to have them for 20 years! I like the colors, the fact that they are lightweight and so durable.

Great colors but does run big. Oddly, my daughters previous pair were Girls Kinvara 3 in size 6. The old pair are very small. I went up one size to a 7 and they are big.

It's a very cute shoe, but it does not provide the support I expected from a running shoe. If your kid just needs sneaks to play in it's great. Colours are even more fantastic in person. Size runs big. I returned the shoe immediately.

I strongly encourage anyone who wants to buy running shoes to go to his/her local running store and finding a pair that is a good fit. A local running store with experts is the best...not a DSW warehouse type of store. I went to Runningfit, did a walking test, learned that I overpronate and needed a good stability shoe. I tried on several pairs, but the Mizuno Wave Inspire 9 fit my feet the best. In my opinion, Mizuno's tend to be narrower and size is smaller. I went up half a size.

These shoes are incredibly lightweight, provide sufficient cushioning (although I thought Brooks Adrenaline GTS 13 provided more cushion but it wasn't as lightweight), and support my feet well to prevent injury. I love these shoes. I love the color. I've only had them a few days and have ran 30+ miles. Absolutely no regrets.

If you don't have access to a running store, have someone watch you walk to see if you pronate. You can also take online tests that will recommend shoes for you (). I also suggest runningwarehouse.com because they provide FREE returns. I've had a positive experience with their customer service as well.

Bottom line: 1) try on shoes to find a good fit. 2) I love my Mizuno's.

Happy Running!

I bought these shoes at a local running store, not Amazon, but I love them so much I had to pass on a good word.

I started running last year with a pair of Asics. They were a motion control shoes to help me with my gait. After wearing them out thoroughly, I went back to my local store and was fitted again. They had me try on 4 different shoes and this one was the winner by a long shot.

I'm picky about how my shoes fit very picky. I also have a borderline narrow foot, so shoes like most Brooks don't work for me because the toe box is too big. My Asics were great while I was "learning" how to run, but the motion control came too be too much and I found myself tripping over their bulk. I needed something lighter, something that would conform to my foot and run with me, not against me. Enter, the Mizuno Inspire 9.

I can't say enough good things about this shoe! It fits my heel/ankle area perfectly. It hugs in all the right places and makes me feel like my shoes are on securely. The toe box is a perfect fit, as well. An attribute that sold me on the toe box is its mesh covering. My feet get really hot when I run (despite appropriate socks). The mesh helps my feet aerate while I'm running, so I don't have to take my shoes off immediately after to let them dry. Also, the material on the shoes seems pliable enough that as my feet swell after running, the shoes don't dig into my feet. My last pair I had to take off within minutes of ending my run because of heat and swelling. I've worn these for hours after and felt like they are not only comfortable, but also therapeutic. And all these great qualities aren't even my favorite! My favorite part about these shoes is the internal structural plate. When I'm running, I can feel the energy transfer difference. With my last pair of shoes, as I fatigued, my shoes felt heavier and my steps became sloppy. With these shoes, as I run, I feel like I get into a better groove and can transition steps even more effectively.

As far as I'm concerned, I will keep using these shoes until Mizuno changes the design too much or until they are no longer made. I'm training for a half marathon in August and feel confident knowing I'll have these shoes along for the ride.

Best Deals on Mizuno Women's Wave Inspire 9 Running Shoe

I have been running (injury free, yay) on Wave Inspire 8s for some time. I love them beyond belief. I was excited about try the 9s. Despite the fact that they look awesome they feel completely different to me--less cushy, tighter, not "made for my feet" like the 8s feel. I have a crappy knee and need lots of cushioning, and these aren't going to cut it. Going to return these and pick up a couple pairs of 8s before they are gone from stores.

Honest reviews on Mizuno Women's Wave Inspire 9 Running Shoe

Who knew Mizuno made running shoes? Not me. I was at my local RoadRunner and tried on at least 10 pairs before these were brought out. I was surprised to see Mizuno since I only knew of them as a baseball brand. I was in the early days of training for a half marathon and my old Sauconys were not going to last much longer. As soon as I tried these on I knew they were the one. Here's what I like about the shoe (keep in mind this is coming from a complete novice to the running world):

-they provided just the right amount of support for me. I am not a fan of shoes that are too soft/"cloud"-like or shoes that have a stiff sole

-the shoe does not have high side support (on the outside of the shoe beneath the logo). I am a size 5 and have a wide foot so shoes with too much side support cause pain after long distances

-obviously the color is great and super fun! I actually had the black pair first but once I got home and saw the blue pair online I quickly exchanged them

-they are light as a feather! I enjoy wearing them while I'm out running errands, too.

Note: as another review stated below, the stock photos aren't a true reflection of the color of the shoe. The photos show more of a sky blue/periwinkle whereas the actual shoe is a vibrant bright blue think somewhere between Robin Egg Blue and Cerulean from the Crayola box. Yep, I just went there.

The BEST athletic shoes EVER!!!!!!!!! I have a fused ankle, and wear custom orthotics...two things that make any pair of shoes uncomfortable....until I finally decided to give in and spend a fortune on my Asics Gel Kinsei shoes. Arch support = AWESOME; Comfort = AWESOME; Nice looking athletic shoe = AWESOME. To be honest, this is the best quality athletic shoe I have ever purchased! Yes, these shoes are VERY expensive. However, following 5 surgeries on my ankle if this is the price I have to pay for quality made/built shoes that will support every inch of my foot/ankle properly and help prevent further injury or trauma...well then the cost of this shoe is a small price to pay. And, for all of you out there who also have "problem feet" these shoes are endorsed by the American Podiatric Association, which means they have the seal of approval from foot and ankle specialists. If that's not enough, I went from having incredibly intense foot pain after beginning to walk following my ankle fusion, to having NO foot pain once I started wearing my Asics Gel Kinsei shoes.

You cannot go wrong with these shoes...I don't understand how anyone could have a negative opinion of them! If you're unsure go to your local specialty shoe store and try a pair on...but please make sure your feet are properly measured! Believe it or not many of us have been wearing the wrong size of athletic shoes for years!!! (even if they're our typical size). While you may wear one size to get a comfortable or "snug" fit in dressy shoes, when purchasing athletic shoes you should actually go up at least a half, to preferably a full size! Your feet need that extra room to allow for full biomechanical range of motion when walking or running. I didn't believe it either...but now that I've gone up a size, these are (even more so) the most comfortable shoes I have EVER put on my feet! I for one will be purchasing a new pair of Asics Gel Kinsei shoes at least once a year. Believe me I know they're expensive, but once you try them, you'll understand exactly what I mean! You'll never have to search the internet (or every shoe store in your state) again for the perfect athletic shoe! Your feet will definitely thank you! ....mine have! :-)

My 21 year old asked me to be her partner in the upcoming Disney Princess Half Marathon ... I have always been physically active, but knew that I had to step up my routine in order to be able to compete. A long time ASICS fan, I treated myself to the Gel-Kinsei after reading the reviews. From the very first time I laced them, I was able to run for miles no rubbing, or irritation no need to "break them in". Definitely worth the money, and the fact that they are different colors sparks conversation wherever I go. Please note that if you are looking for the new type of lightweight running shoe these are definitely not for you.

I gave these shoes 5 stars simply because they really are the best shoes I have ever purchased. Not only are they stylish and go well with my scrubs and exercise clothes, they are sooooo comfy! I am an ASICS girl to begin with and have had many pairs in the past but these just feel better than all of the others.... Maybe because of the gel soles? I stand on my feet for long hours during the day and usually come home with an achy back and legs. However, after only one day of wearing these, I felt great after working all day-no pain!

For reference: I wear a women's size 10 in other types of shoes besides sneakers. I have narrow feet, freakishly long toes, bony ankles and exaggerated arches. Because of the long second toe, I usually get a 10.5 in sneakers since sneakers dont have the same amount of room in the toe area as pumps, peep toes, or sandals.

These shoes provide enough cushion to support my arches, a low top that doesn't bother my protruding ankles, and are narrow enough that going a half size up didn't make them too roomy on the sides.

If you have normal toes and wider feet, I would recommend trying Brooks, as my boyfriend has this foot type and swears by them. However, if you have narrow feet I would give these a try and make sure to go a half size up if you have really long toes.

I am not a hard core runner but love being active. I primary ride road bikes. I picked these up for triathlon training (I will also be using these for races) and love them. I run from 2-4 miles each run and average about 6 miles a week. They feel amazing. In fact they don't really feel much at all, I guess that's the point of such a light shoe.

The color is definitely me but can be too much, and others have referred to them as very loud. :) no problem with me. They keep cars from running me over:)

Bottom line: recommended to friends without hesitation.

Wow! These are far and away the most comfortable golf shoes I have worn. I like shoes and I've had Puma, Foot Joy DryJoys, True Linkswear, Ecco Biom Hybrid.

I wear minimalist shoes and Correct Toes to work and I'm on my feet all day. The Adizero is cut wider and the med width fit, but the wide is a better fit especially with my Correct Toes. The low center of gravity improves balance and ground feel and they have just the right amount of grip. The materials are top notch. I like how they look with pants or shorts. Improved styling compared to the typical minimalist shoe. I'll still try the new M Project Foot Joys, but Adidas has hit a grand slam with these!

There is an extra set of insoles that have more cushioning and take up a little more volume in the shoe. I preferred it to the thinner insole, nice to have an option without having to purchase an aftermarket insole.

Even if you have not worn a minimalist shoe before, give 'em a try and you'll be hooked!

The Adidas Adizero Tour Golf Shoe is, as advertised, extremely light. Despite this, the molded plastic base (a lighter variation of their usual Tour shoe) allows great stability without being overly stiff. I walk all of my rounds of golf and my home course has plenty of elevation variations and uneven ground lies. The Adizero was stable and comfortable in all conditions, and there was no foot fatigue from walking the course.

There's a recent marketing trend in golf shoes to decrease even soft cleats and provide a tennis shoe experience with lighter shoes. Unfortunately, many of these shoes (I own two pair of other brands) tend to slip more on wet grass or uneven terrain, although they function fine on flat courses and are comfortable. The Adizero performs both functions light comfort and stability. As an older golfer, both factors are important to me. I've been very satisfied.

Just bought these from a local retailer here in town due to timing.

They ran true to size. I have a EE foot and I fit into a 10.5 wide size. They are supremely light and exceptionally comfortable. I may update after my first round but for now I'm thrilled. They also appear to be built from quality materials and put together well.

Honest reviews on adidas Men's Adizero Tour Golf Shoe

The shoes are great, very light, good traction, good durability. The sizing is a bit small, so get one size bigger and you are fine.

Excellent for running, They feel perfect on the track, I had never used asics before but now I recommend them!!

I bought a pair of Contends about 9 months ago for everyday wear, not intending to run in them. Good thing too, because they are already wearing out. Pieces of the outsole are coming unglued, particularly corners of the lugs near the back.

I shudder to think how these shoes would have held up, if I regularly went running in them. I only did that once so far, because I had misplaced my usual gear. I have worn my Contends almost daily since I bought them, and it shows. Perhaps it's because, as a student, I tended to walk a lot while classes were in session.

Compare the outsole of this shoe to that of a more expensive model, such as the Asics Kahana 6. There just isn't as much "meat" on the Contend. So I definitely wouldn't buy these if you are a trail runner. If you run on pavement, you might need more cushioning, and would benefit from something with a beefier outsole.

I don't mean to steer anyone away from this shoe, just be sure to manage your expectations. You get what you pay for. These might make an excellent entry-level or starter pair for actual running, due to the low price. The Contend is an adequate walking shoe, even if I'm a little underwhelmed by its (lack of) durability in that role.

Best Deals on ASICS Men's Contend Running Shoe

Let me first start by saying that I am a loyal Asics customer and I used to ONLY buy Asics sneakers. I currently own a pair of worn, beat up pair of Asics Gel-Strike 2, a pair of equally beat up Gel-Strike 3, Gel-Contend, Gel-Cumulus and a pair of Asics hiking boots. If I were to compare these Gel-Contend's to the rest of them in terms of quality, comfort and durability I would say that they are the worst of the bunch.

I have owned a pair of Asics Gel-Strike 2 for over 4 years now. Both the Gel-Strike 2 and Gel-Contend are budget sneakers and they cost around the same mount when they came out. As a matter of fact I believe these Gel-Contend's are a continuation of the Gel-Strike's. The Gel-Strike 2's were by far the most comfortable sneaker's I've owned in the past 5 years and I will keep wearing my old beat up pair until they fall off my feat.

Unfortunately these Gel-Contend's do not compare one bit to the Gel-Strike 2. They don't even compare to the Gel-Strike 3 (which was a step down from the 2). I've been wearing these Gel-Contends for the past few weeks just for walking to work and back home and my feet ache when I get home. The sole on these sneakers so very thin that I can feel just about every bump or pebble I walk on. These sneakers are not durable at all. I can already notice a good amount of wear of the rubber grips and now I have to go out and buy a pair of insoles. I would not dare to run or work on with them.

I really can't beleive the drop off in quality from the gel-strike 2 to this model. I am so disappointed with these sneakers that I bought another pair of Gel-Stike 2's from fleebay for $55 (which is almost double what I originally bought them for 4 years ago) because I knew these were not going to last long. My only conclusion of Asics diminishing quality is that they just don't want their sneakers to last long so that you keep buying a new pair. Maybe they are resting too much on their laurels and believe that people will keep buying their products because it is "Asics". I have news for you guys, keep this up and I will no longer be customer.

Honest reviews on ASICS Men's Contend Running Shoe

I have worn Asics for over 30 years and they used to have consistently reliable foot lasts, regardless of where the shoes were manufactured. Lately, the shoe size seems to vary based on the country of origin. This pair is at least a 1/2 size smaller than my other shoes and while the foot bed is EE, the fabric surrounding the foot is very snug. The shoes are fine without socks, but I will be wary of ordering any more shoes online.

I needed good and inexpensive running shoes so after doing quick research online; ASICS consistently came highly recommended.

I came across these; they looked great and the price was exactly what I was willing to spend. Thus, I took a chance and ordered them. Upon arrival they looked better than the picture and once I put them on my feet....instant love. The sneakers were very comfortable but I wasn't convinced fully; the real test would be running in them. Well, I did...now Im ready for the marathon; they are that great.

I barely felt the sidewalk beneath me. These ASICS are the best running shoes I have EVER owned.

Like them so much I brought a second pair and for the same price I paid for the first one...just a different color. But who cares.....streets here I come again!

I love all of my zoot clothing. I have several pairs of running shorts, and a tri top and tri shorts. They've all served me well. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the shoes.

I love the triathlon specific features the built in elastic laces and loop on the heel and tongue (which is also fixed to prevent accidental bunching) which make the shoes lightning quick to put on in T2. The shoes are also supposedly designed to be worn sockless, but I found no difference between these and normal running shoes when it came to running without socks. In both cases I start to develop blisters after about three miles.

Unfortunately, my feet just don't agree with this shoe. Even wearing socks I was prone to blistering on my toes and arches. The last straw was when one of my toes became very sore and turned completely black during an interval workout. Luckily it hasn't fallen off yet, but I am fairly sure it will eventually. I only run between 20-25 miles a week. Not nearly enough to start losing toenails with a decent pair of shoes.

Construction of this shoe appeared very good. Came with removable web with extra grips. UNFORTUNATELY it was TOO NARROW. I dont't understand why manufacturers do not make wider shoes. I see adds for sandals with women's soles falling over the edges. We need to stop buying what manufacturers think are the width of most women's feet and demanding proper fit. You don't see men buying shoes saying "They'll brake in after a while". NO! they demand proper fit from the beginning.

Merrell Men's J15517 Trail Glove Trail Running Shoe Reviews

Merrell Men's Barefoot Trail Glove Sneaker,Blue Depths/Silver,10.5 M US
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

Ever since my KSO Treks disappeared a few months ago while travelling(TSA?) I have been back in the market for zero drop shoes. I loved my KSO's and was seriously considering getting another pair; however,I decided to look at some alternatives on different web sites and came across Merrell's bare foot running shoe's. I had to wait a bit, but now that I finally have a pair, I can tell you that it was totally worth it.

Before I start, I'll just preface this with the fact that I am not savvy on all of the lingo and dynamics of how these shoes are built and I am not a running snob. I run on and off trail 5 days a week, usually less than 6 miles, more intervals than distance work. I lift frequently too, and a neutral shoe helps save the knees with dead lifts and squats. That's what I use my shoes for, just to give you an idea of what I base my opinion off of.

First impressions: clean, simple, and lightweight.

Size: I wear a 10.5 M and so I ordered a 10.5 M and it fits perfect, with or without running socks. There is ample room in the toe box for your toes to splay. The lacing allows for a more custom/glove-like fit.

Comfort: It fits like a glove, nothing digs into my toes, heal or the top of my foot, just comfortable.

Performance: I took them out for 3 mile run right after I received them and was blown away. They felt good. My feet stayed snug in the shoes, I had adequate traction on mud and gravel laden turns on the trail and true to their barefoot tag, my feet were forefoot striking the whole way. The shoes incorporate a fair amount of mesh, so puddle splashes did cause my feet to get damp.

Having already put a fair amount of mileage in the KSO Treks, I will add in my thoughts about how the Merrell Trail Glove stacks up:

The Trail Glove fits more like a glove that the slipper like KSO Trek, mostly because of the lacing system. The Trail Glove and KSO Treks are both lightweight, I haven't checked the spec's to compare, but they are both minimalist shoes so its probably not a huge difference. The separate toes in the KSO Trek's and other Five Finger line-up is a novel design (maybe not since it is just modeled after the human foot), but I don't think it adds any advantages to running that the Trail Glove doesn't, aside from being goofy looking, getting dandelions caught between your toes, stubbing your toes and the ability to grab things with your toes to impress your friends. I think the Trail glove is more protective and more comfortable than the KSO Treks and you don't have to train your toes to fit into individual pockets. If you like the Five Fingers, that's fine, I ran with them for a while and liked them a lot, until I tried these bad boys.

As far as durability and long term wear goes, I'd refer you to other running blogs of those who've test driven the Merrel Trail gloves before they were released to people like me.

Hope this helps.

I've been wanting to try out one of the "barefoot'" shoes since I read reviews of the Vibrum Five Fingers. I tried them on at two stores and after fifteen minutes of trying I could never get them on my feet. My fat toes just would not go into the spaces they were supposed to fit into, so I was excited to read about these. I have wide feet so i normally wear anything between a size 11 and 12, depending on brand and if they come in a wide size. Wasn't sure about these, so I split the difference and ordered a 11.5. They fit perfectly!

First impression was that they felt a little funny with the narrow sole and heal, but then a went for a run in them and I was in love. They force you to learn to run off your forefoot rather that your heel. It takes a few runs to get the knack of it, but you'll see the benefits. Feet and legs felt much better and with my improved stride I have began cutting minutes off my training runs with no increase in effort. These shoes weigh almost nothing and fit like a second skin, so that's part of it I guess. They have plenty of room in the toe box.

I would recommend these to anybody looking to improve their running. I just ordered a pare of the True Gloves. Not sure of the difference, except they look like the sole tread is more suited to road running instead to trails, so I looking forward the comparing the two.

For people who are complaining about the narrow sole and low heal, these are running shoes, not walking shoes. I would not recommend them for someone looking for walking around shoes.

UPDATE: For those who might be interested, I just received a pair of the Merrell True Gloves. The soles of the True Glove and the Trail appear to be the same. The main difference is the Trail Glove has the mesh upper while the True Glove has a softer upper. For those who have commented of abrasions from the Trail Gloves mesh upper, the True Glove may be a better choice, however, it looks like the Trail Glove "breaths" better. Both are great running shoes and weigh almost nothing.

UPDATE 2: I've been running in these shoes for over a year now including one marathon and a half Ironman triathlon plus numerious shorter races and training. For me these are the best shoes I've ever had. I'm 65 years old so I've been doing this for a while. No blisters, no foot problems at all. I still love these shoes. The only "issue" I would have is they wear out faster then other shoes I'v had. I'm on my third pair, but I don't plan to switch to something else. I love these shoes.

I have been lifting weights for several years and was tired of the same routine so I got pretty hardcore into running and cycling. After two months of running and getting pretty bad shin splints and tendinitis in my right calve muscle, I was fed up. I began researching the subject of running form, gait, and the way in which running shoes affect both. After reading various articles, blogs and a couple of books (I would especially recommend Natural Running by Abshire), I decided to give the whole minimalist running shoe a try.

I could not be more satisfied. I looked at several running shoes before making my decision. I wanted a shoe that had a nearly nonexistent heal raise, little "support" of the foot, and plenty of room to roam in the toe box. I read and watched reviews for New Balance Minimus, Nike Free Run, Vibram Five, and several other barefoot running shoes. After very careful consideration, I decided to get this shoe.

I have been running in this shoe for three weeks now and can say that I am satisfied enough to get another pair of this shoe just to lay around in the closet for when I'm ready for it. The price is certainly high, but the results you get out of this shoe are spectacular. I have been injury free and feel more muscles in my legs and feet getting worked out with these shoes. I will say this though, YOU WILL NEED TO RUN DIFFERENTLY. The whole point of running in a minimalist shoe is to run more efficiently, and that means get rid of your heel-striking gait and running on the forefoot, landing on the mid-foot.

I have started training for my first half-marathon and run in these shoes three times a week right now, between 3 and 6 miles. I also cross-train which incorporates spinning and lifting weights. While this shoe is great for balance support while lifting weights, I would not recommend spinning in this shoe; wear your stiffer sneakers for when you spin or wear your spinning shoes, if you have a pair.

I would give this shoe six stars if I could.

Honest reviews on Merrell Men's J15517 Trail Glove Trail Running Shoe

Wow, these are simply amazing shoes. From the very moment I slipped my feet into these, my feet were happy.

I ordered a 13 and they are medium width. The toe box is just right and provides me a perfect fit. Maybe some feet might find it a bit roomy in width. But not for me. It was perfect.

As a size 13, my big toe just barely grazes the front of the show... just barely. I expect the shoe to stretch a smidge and even if it doesn't, it's a fit that borders on perfection.

The lacing system gives you excellent control of tightness. The lacing system is actually composed of two pieces... the wider piece goes across the tongue and out through the eyelet and then the lace itself goes through that wider piece. So you have fine grain control of snugness.

Heel cup is perfect for me. No slipping, no looseness.

Finally the sole is vibram and seems like it will last a long time. It's a fairly aggressive tread that is just what you'd want for trail running. My first impression was that the sole seems somewhat on the stiff side of things but I actually appreciate the solid feeling that I get through the sole whereas the rest of the shoe is feather-light. Although this is considered a "barefoot" type of shoe, unlike some others out there, this sole is more substantial. For my preferences, I like it that way.

Breathability seems great and I have worn them with and without socks. When I do wear a sock, I wear a very thin smart-wool sock. The combination of the sock and the lightness plus great fit of the Trail Glove makes these hands down the best shoes I've ever had on my feet.

UPDATE: 10/20/2012 I continue to marvel at the comfort of these. The sole has indeed become more flexible with wear. I like the feeling I get through the sole. You can actually feel the surface of whatever you are walking/running on through the sole and yet the sole provides great traction. And these are aptly named "trail glove." They do fit my foot so closely that they are exactly like a glove on your feet. They're like a second skin.

The problem with being a person that likes to go barefoot, is that society at large prefers its citizens shod. And that means I need a "shoe" that looks like a shoe, but feels like Vibrams' Fivefingers; ergo my purchase of Merrell Trail Glove (yellow on grey). The hope was I could run in these shoes while enjoying the freedom, and reduced wear-and-tear of being barefoot, and not have to change shoes before going into town. It's worked out, but it's an expensive fix.

First, I wear a 12 mens. I've read comments saying the shoes run small, narrow, too wide, large...etc, etc. I've worn a twelve for 18 years now. I wore a twelve in Nikes as a youth; a twelve in the Army; a twelve in dress shoes; and now a twelve in Merrells. These shoes do not run small, large, or narrow; they fit just like every other twelve I've worn. I think those suggesting otherwise need to make a trip to a shoe retailer and have their foot professionally-sized. The toe box is roomy for a crossover shoe (which is what this is); the material breaths well, and the heal is comfortable. Unless you have shoe boxes for feet (E plus width), I can't imagine you having problems.

Now for the not-so-hot. I run five miles on a local trail every other day come hell or high water. About three times a month I feel a little younger than I am and double the distance. It works out to around 90-ish miles a month. Keeping in mind that I'm 6'1" and 190 pounds (hardly a hulking behemoth), the soles on these shoes are wearing out at twice the speed of my last pair of Vibram's--twice the speed. I've run barefoot long enough now (3 plus years) that 10 miles barefoot (no shoes at all) on concrete is not uncomfortable in the least bit. I'm well versed in how to properly land barefoot. I'm not landing wrong and thus putting undue stress on a particular portion of the sole; the sole is simply wearing out at an incredible rate. As of today, I have a half-dime-sized hole in the sole of my left Merrell Barefoot Trail Glove, and it is in exactly the same spot as the last pair.

So, if your deep of pockets, and short on miles-per-month (and 90 is quite low to begin with), then I would recommend this shoe. Otherwise, steer clear.

Edit: Final Thoughts

Barefoot running has entered the mainstream as a fad. And I think that's a good thing...BUT just because barefoot running is likely better for you (it certainly was for me) DO NOT think you can do it overnight. Try Googling "Barefoot running Achilles tendon pain," for starters. It took me three months (270-ish miles) before I was completely up to speed. I meet people on the trail who stop me and ask me how I can wear "barefoot shoes". They've tried them, they tell me, and they developed Plantar Fasciitis, heel spurs, or badly sprained ankles. In short, they went way too fast/far too soon. If this is going to be your first pair of "barefoot" shoes, keep that in mind. The people who try to suck it up, end up wiping out. You can absolutely wreak yourself with a pair of barefoot shoes if you don't go slow at first. AND YOU WILL BE SORE. There's no ankle support whatsoever--your muscles will have to develop. Your Achilles tendon is likely too short from a lifetime of heel strike--it has to stretch out and strengthen. There is ZERO heel cushion--most first timers feel like their heel is "slamming into the ground" when they go with a minimalist shoe; that's because it is and now there is no gel, air cushion, or spring technology to absorb it.

I wanted to give my 2'cents on this product, since their hasn't been any reviews yet. First off let me explain I would never buy "Fox" anything regardless if it was the shoes, shirts, hats, etc. How I received my shoes and how it came to me as I surprise of how well these shoes fit, design, look.

My girlfriend works at a large retail store, she was giving lessons from the Fox Sales Merchandiser who showed up to her store and gave her points and techniques on how to market and sell these shoes. Afterwards she was giving a free buy one pair of Fox shoes. They currently do not have women shoes, so she decided to give the card to me.

I purchased the Fox Men's Featherlite Running Shoe, Grey/Orange, Size 12. Let me be the first to say that this shoe even rivals competitors such as Nike & Reebok (both of which I have owned). "It's a crossbred between Nike Freerun 3 & Reebok Zigtech". This shoe fits small to size but I like that tight grip feeling around my ankle but also gives up enough room for my toes to breath. Wonderful and controlled cushion that fits your entire foot, extremely light weight shoe to help you move quick and burst with handling.

I love this shoe and I've recommended it to several people.
