I just looked at these shoes at a specialty store since my son wears a wide width and they were over $50. I got them here under $30 so it was a great find. However, a few days later I went to order another pair in a different color and the price went up to $40. I guess I learned my lesson and will purchase then next pair sooner.

I am a triathlete and after much hesitation, I bought this shoes, in spite of their garish color (that was the only one the store had). My first impression was that I was running with my sleepers...they are so COMFORTABLE. The weightlessness is odd at first but after 3 month of trial, I am hooked. I LOVE them. I got rid of the old ones as I tried to train with them one more time today (just to make sure) and it felt like running with Sweden wooden shoes with 2 dumbbells attached on them. You get the point.

Now, the only thing I want to mention is that at my age (43), I need an extra sole in this shoes. I know not everybody does but I really do. The basic 10 dollars Dr Scholl is perfect. Extra cushioning make up for the lack of menisci.

Once you adopt them, there is no turning back...they are too great.

The shoes arrived in a timely manner, but that's the only good thing I can say. They sent a shoe totally different than the picture and it was a 6.5 instead of a 6. Now it appears they are listing the same shoe for $110 instead of the $79 I paid. Very disappointed in this seller.

These are very different running shoes but then, they were designed to be different. I like the extra large toe cabinet (vault...whatever they call that space for toes) because you can put on nice, padded socks. The shoes do require you pay attention to how you place your feet on the ground as you run, as they were designed to do. I need that help training and focusing my awareness (proprioception).

Let me start by saying that I am a loyal wearer of ASICS Gel Cumulus shoes. I buy a new pair every time the new model is introduced, as each pair lasts me about a year, and this is probably my 9th pair of Gel Cumulus shoes. This 14 model initially felt very tight and uncomfortable across the toe box. After considerable loosening of the laces (they were pre-laced when I received them) and wearing them around the house for a couple days to break them in, they felt great and very cushiony. I've never had to "break in" these Cumulus shoes before, and I'm not sure why I had to this time. Perhaps they are being constructed with less fabric across the toes? Regardless, they are very comfortable now and I'm glad I purchased them. With this pair I chose the bold color route the "storm" color is a very dark gray, and the "brilliant blue" is a bright royal blue, while the laces are white. They are about as far from a generic white pair of shoes as you can get! They look great with black exercise pants or dark jeans. As always, this pair of Cumulus shoes has a snug fit around the heel, so they feel very secure when you're moving. The sizing (in length, at least) feels true to previous models.

This is my fourth pair of Asics Cumulus Running Shoes. I've always LOVED the fit and comfort of this shoe and so when it came time to purchase a new pair I felt totally comfortable purchasing online....no need to try them on because I know I'm going to love them. Mistake! They changed the entire shoe. Lower profile, much tighter fit and gone is the springy comfy bounce that I felt in my previous Cumulus shoes. They might be okay with an added insert but that's really not an option without going up a size (or two considering how small this shoe runs). I will still wear these for short walks but will look for a new favorite to run in :(

I have worn Cumulus for years and loved them and they have been kind to me...five marathons and all that training. The new lower heel has caused strain on my lower leg muscles which irritates my heel. They are not as wide as they used to be, so after about six miles, my feet feel cramped. I hate to say it but after all these years, I might have to look for a new shoe. Too bad; I loved my Cumulus! I never had to take them off after a run. I've actually tried to find some Cumulus 11s.I can't find my size!

I love this shoe! The colors are bright and the shoe is very comfortable. I usually wear an 8 1/2, but I order a size up when I purchase running shoes. I purchased these in a 9 and they give me enough room for when I run. This is the first pair of ASICS that I have bought (after much research) and I am very satisfied and happy! As a prior Brooks Adrenaline user (only other running shoes I have ever used), I can say that I have not noticed a difference in the stability and support or the comfort. I can no longer afford to buy Brooks (over $100), so this was a good financial switch as well. After having them for two weeks, I was able to run a 5K without any problems. I am extremely happy with these shoes and I have a feeling that they will become my permanent brand!!

I have worn the cumulus for years and have loved them! I recently purchased the 14's online and threw out all the paperwork and box before actually running in them. What a mistake. They feel terrible! I have never had foot and leg pain when running in any brand shoe before, but I had both with these. It feels like I am running barefoot! I bought another pair from Sports Authority, thinking I just got a pair from a bad batch, and I got them yesterday. I will put them on the treadmill and try them out to see if it is the model or the pair from Amazon. I am very disappointed in the pair I got off of Amazon for sure and am hoping the ones from Sports Authority are better. If not, I will return them and change brands too. :(

I bought two pairs of these shoes since I do a lot of ultras and previous commenters noted that they run wide. The first pair has worked out quite well, I am a EE and they run around an E to EE width. I have run about 130 miles in them so far, including a couple of tough 50 kilometer trail runs in them, and they are holding up better than any of my previous shoes, give good trail feel, have good traction on a wide variety of terrain ranging from snow and mud to steep and technical ups and downs, and the rock guard offers enough protection that my feet do not get beat up. Temperatures for my runs have ranged from freezing with snow to dry and in the high 80's and the shoes have been reasonably comfortable throughout. When wet they dry adequately, but are not so porous that they let in a lot of dirt and grit. Now for the down side. I was so happy with the first pair that I bought a second. The first time I wore them, I went to tighten the laces and one of the lacing loops ripped out, so quality control may be an issue. That said, I will replace the defective ones with another pair and hope they are as stout as the first pair. If the second pair had not ripped out I would have rated them a 5 out of 5.

Update I have two pairs of the Sparks and now have several hundred miles on each pair of them, including running the 2012 Western States 100. After Western States, my feet were still in good shape, with no black toenails, and only three minor blisters that I didn't discover until after finishing the race. Also, no bruising of the soles of my feet. I am still very happy with them, and they are wearing better than other shoes I have used. I do agree with another reviewer that the lacing loops could be improved, but they are holding up so far. on these two pairs.

The combination of firm cushioning, 'medium' heel-toe drop, and a wide toe box with a low arch make this shoe nearly perfect for me. I ran in the New Balance MT101 for a few years, and really liked that shoe but found it to be a bit too minimal for longer runs. The Spark has a similar last and a very similar outsole (very grippy, but not very big lugs), but has better foot protection and more support. The shoe is quite light, while feeling solidly built with a well cushioned tongue and heel. I have about 120 miles on them so far, including two 20+ mile runs, and they look brand new apart from slight wear on the forefoot lugs. A+.

I'm a little over 70 miles into these shoes, including my first 50k. I've run extremely dry/dusty trails, rocky logging roads, and just recently through some wet and slick sections. So far no complaints, I was looking for a shoe with less than the typical 10-12mm drop, and at 6mm these seemed a good step in that direction. I was little worried about not getting my feet accustomed to them before my race, but after about 35 miles I felt like they were part of me. No break in period that I could feel.

I came from a pair of (slightly too small) Montrail Mountain Masochists and realized I needed something better fitting for the 50k. If I'd had all the time in the world, I would probably have gone with the NB MT110's, or Altra Lone Peaks, but I didn't want to try going from 10mm drop to 4 or 0 so quickly. I'm glad I went with the Sparks. I have what I like to call "ogre foot," wherein the middle section of my foot bulges out way more than my toe toes, and it's tricky to find shoes that accommodate that well. I tried on a lot of trail runners, including the Brooks PureGrit 2s, NB MT110s, Brooks Cascadias, and Saucony Xodus 4.0s. The Cascadias and MT 110s felt pretty good width wise, but the former was too much shoe, and the latter was too little. PureGrit2s were too snug in the mid, and the Saucony's were 4mm drop AND felt a little overbuilt.

The Scarpa Spark Trail shoe is the best trail racing shoe I've worn in the past eight years. These shoes command the frontier between serious minimalism and super-lightweight protective shoes. I ran a great 50km race on 95% single track, and while I posted a PR, I'd say that was about as far as I's like to run in them at race speed in one day. They provide great balance and support but not a whole lot of shock absorption.

I have 300 + miles on my Sparks now they have held up extremely well, including the sole. I have raced 50K Ultra's with them, and cannot imagine running in another shoe. The comfort they provide and the light feel are perfect. At first I thought they were a bit wide, but I simply laced up a bit tighter and problem solved. The shoe has held up the best to wear and tear better than any other trail shoe I have owned after 300+ miles. My only one complaint would be the laces want to come untied, thus I double knot no big deal. But those laces that come with some shoes that are thick and thin to keep from untieing would be the only improvement I can think of. I was leary that a light shoe would not have enough cushion, as I run on rough rocky dry terrain typically but they again have performed perfectly. Scarpa absolutely hit a home run with these. My prior shoes were Mountain Massochist's those seem like a tank compared to these, and those wore out much quicker then these. The other reviewers who posted saying they have had problems, I have not experienced. And if someone runs 10 miles in them and then posts a review can't really give a valid review in my opinion. Not saying other reviewers here have done that, but I always get a chuckle when someone reviews a running shoe yet has ran in them once!

I bought these running shoes mainly for off-road running on bare, uneven, dirt and grass tracks. They are rugged and comfortable footwear.

PROS:

The footbed is lightly padded and comfortable enough to wear all day.

These running shoes provide extra support if you have feet with high arches.

The midsoles actually enhance shock absorption for a springy step while running on paved tracks.

Goodbye lower backaches! :))

The textured rubber outer sole helps you keep your grip even on uneven, uphill dirt tracks.

The breathable mesh material keeps your feet comfortably cool and dry during your workout.

I bought the silver/gray/green colorway. Gray sneakers hide dirt well! :))

I typically wear a size 10 in most shoes, but these shoes run a bit smaller. I ordered a 10.5 and they fit fine.

I highly recommend these shoes for brisk walking, hiking and running on paved surfaces, as well as uneven dirt tracks. These Saucony sneakers are both comfortable and stylish. You can even wear them as casual footwear with your favorite jeans.

I was not particularly happy with these shoes. I am an avid runner, and I always wear Saucony. I have wide toes and a narraw heel, so generally speaking, I prefer I a wider shoe, but this shoe was wide through the arch and my foot flopped around in it. If you're someone with a wide arch, this might be a good shoe for you. If not, I might look instead to the TR3.

I will NEVER waste my money on another brand. I had a pair of Saucony's that I used to run my first and only marathon in 2007. I trained in them, ran the marathon in them and then wore them for work (healthcare) for the following 4 years. They held up like no other shoe I have ever owned. I just bought this particular Saucony shoe and once again, I am thoroughly impressed. It fits my foot so comfortably. A lot of other brands I have tried have caused knee pain and hip pain. These shoes don't. I have officially found my signature brand of shoe. I will always buy Saucony. Always.

Saucony is one of the best shoe companies for anyone with high arches (i know. i work in a shoe store) IF you get the correct style. I'd never tried this one on, but i liked the colors so i thought i'd give it a shot. I'm sending these back (or else giving them away, i haven't decided yet), but it's no big deal.., I have a tough time finding running shoes that work in the first place (high arches, high instep, and tendonitis in one ankle)!! Highly recommend anything by saucony if looking for new workout shoes!!!

I bought this shoe in charcoal/black for my 19 year-old nephew, size 13M, and in tan/black for my 49 year-old brother, size 11 1/2. Both say they are true to size and they like how they look. My brother said they are the most comfortable athletic shoes he's ever worn. I am very pleased that I got the shoes at a great price and both the guys are very happy with them. I'd buy them again.

I bought these shoes from Sears for general purpose, running, walking in the park, some workout, casual sports etc. After using it for 3 days (yes, 3 days and about 4 hours each day) the sole has started to come off. Now that I took a closer look at the sole, it is definitely made of super cheap material and stuck using some kind of household glue. I've never come across such a terrible shoe that only lasted couple of days. This shoe has to be the epitome of worthless super cheap manufacturing!

The size was accurate, I normally wear a 10.5 and that's what I ordered and they fit great. I received these shoes about 2 weeks ago. Have worn them several times now and they are extremely comfy. Skechers are the only shoes I don't have to have arch supports added to the shoe.
