Cheap Inov-8 F-lite 252 Shoe

I had been looking for better "gym" shoes to workout in as opposed to a pair of New Balance running shoes I had been using.

My workouts consist of cardio, stationary bike, rowing machine followed by weight lifting. I needed shoes that were better for the weight lifting part of the exercise program.

I took a look at some of the minimal shoe offerings, but after trying on a couple pairs I really didn't care much for the almost barefoot feeling those style of shoes imparted so I went searching for something with a bit more substance between my feet and the floor.

I ordered two pair of shoes from Amazon at the same time. This pair and a pair of New Balance's new MX997BK2 shoes.

Both pair were tried on for fit inside my home. The Inov-8 immediately felt much better. The width in this case was the deciding factor. I wear a size 12 and in both cases, the shoe length was correct. However the New Balance was much narrower in the area where the arch transitions into the big toe and forward, giving a very constricted feeling to my feet. (I noticed this as well with my last pair of New Balance running shoes as well. Perhaps they have changed the last they are using?).

I have been using the Inov-8's now for approximately a week and I am very pleased with the shoe so far. It is meeting the requirements of providing the necessary support and stability for the weight training portion of my workout along with performing nicely for the cardio portion.

If you are looking for something more than the "barefoot" experience, but less than the cushioned pampering of some heavily padded running/exercise shoes, and weight training is part of your program, then these fit the bill nicely IMO.

I purchased these for the sole durability and I haven't been disappointed. I'm a heavier runner 6'2" 200 lbs and often run both street and trail on the same run so having a shoe that can handle both was the impetus behind this purchase. The top of the shoes binds the top of my foot slightly and the shell isn't very flexible. Good durable shoe, but won't win any comfort awards.

After putting in about 500 miles on these shoes, I've got to say I rated them too low. They gradually get more comfortable, but the durability is truly striking. Most of my running shoes show signs of wear a month in, but it took me a good 3 months to see any wear on the outer heal (where I tend to see wear first. I liked these so much I'm buying another pair and re-rating my purchase to a 5.

I've really just started running, but we get nasty weather in Calgary and I wanted something I could run through the winter with. I'd been using Saucony Men's Grid Trigon 3 Ride I bought a few years ago, and the shoes felt great but they're mesh, and the last thing you want to do is run with literally frozen feet.

The Crossmax are incredible. Excellent grip on snow and ice, to the point where I often just take my crampons off and run without. I've run in -18C and stayed warm, comfortable and nimble. They genuinely are door-to-trail, and I run in mixed terrain, from ravines to sidewalks without a problem.

My only problem is with the arch I've had some twinges in the arch, and I have high arches, although I suspect that will lessen as I beat the shoes up more. Other than that, excellent shoes.

I bought these one week before my first trail event. The Hyner Trail Challenge is a 16.5 mile event with over 1500 feet of elevation to climb. This year there was an added bonus of what can only be explained as a monsoon with freezing rain, sleet and high winds. The new shoes were definitely put to the test. These shoes gripped all of the mud laden surfaces both uphill and downhill giving me a immense feeling of stability and traction through the muddy and rocky trail. They also helped to stabilize my feet by keeping my ankles from rolling.

I have tried other shoes, but these had no break in period, felt the best and have held up to additional trail runs since the Hyner Trail Challenge. I would highly recommend these to anyone considering a purchase.

These are a little heavier then some of my previous trail shoes from La Sportiva, Salomon or Vasque, and I was originally not happy with their lack of waterproofing or how they drained if they did get wet. But once I learned they are just not meant for water, and I keep them dry, they have been an awesome additional to my collection of trail shoes.

Their grip is phenomenal, especially for hill climbing. They have lasted quite a few miles, and are showing little signs of wear. I love the Salomon lacing, it is great for when you get something in your shoe on a trail and want to quickly clean it out. If you aren't in a wet area these are great, I would happily recommend them any day.

This is my second pair of Salomon Crossmax trail running shoes. They are simply the best trail running shoes I have ever had. Of course, everyone's fit, running style, foot shape, and build will determine the best shoe for them, but I wanted to share what I have enjoyed about the Crossmax:

1) Stable shoe: I live in Utah and run some fairly steep, rocky trails. I always feel very stable in this shoe and have yet to turn an ankle (knock on wood!).

2) Soft Sole the shoe combines a soft sole with good protection for the balls of my feet. It is clearly a trail running shoe with the needed plate in the front of the shoe for rocky trails.

3) Breathable I did not order the clima-shield on either pair and have enjoyed how cool these shoes keep my feet on hot summer afternoon runs.

4) Tread While the shoe is intended for "door to trail", I used the Crossmax exclusively on trails. I was happy with the tread on the shoe (prefer it over the Mission tread from Salomon).

5) Life I logged approximately 200 miles this summer in the Crossmax. Given that I am a bit of a burly guy and many of my favorite trails have rocks that are hard on shoes, I was very impressed with how long the shoes last.

Kudos to Salomon, thanks for making such a great shoe. Now, just don't replace the Crossmax with the Mission....PLEASE keep the Crossmax around.

I wear a standard size 6 US shoe, 5'4, 129 lb, all shoes in size 6 medium, including running shoes. I ordered a size 6 US, and it was way too large so I followed the size chart and measured my foot and it was between 5.5 and 5, so ordered a size 5, and it was still too long and a bit wide in the toe area. With socks, the fit was ok and with feet swelling I imagine it would be good. My advice is to order a full size smaller than you usually do. I really like the shoe but can't get the right fit.

AHve always worn a gortex runner for outdoor snow and rain winter running, was using a different brand, but price point of these was cheaper so I decided to try! Cant say enough good things! Love the one hand lacing system, even tho gortex they are very light! they do not provide THAT much extra traction but I do not think any plain runner will do until you get a yax track or sumthing to go with. 5 stars!

well unfortunately i do not like these shoes. the cut is so high that it causes blisters on the heel as well as under the ankle bone on the side. As I've had this style of shoe for years, I am obviously quite disappointed. They are being returned.

I am a Montana trail runner year-round who runs in all weather and temperatures. I have a neutral gait--that's a huge benefit of this shoe. Sadly, this model no longer fits or performs like it used to. The uppers are now stiff and don't break in; the top of my foot was so sore it hurt to have a sock on after my first run in these (I had even worn them around the house for a few days trying to warm them up). The last has widened at the toe box and heel, meaning my heel now slides, even with Superfeet. And the outsole didn't work at all for traction on ice during my morning trail run. I will admit my feet are hard to fit (long, narrow, low volume), so maybe these work better for someone with simply denser feet. However, this used to be my tried and true shoe. I returned this pair. It's easier to run in my summer shoes with wool socks. My feet get wet, but at least they don't hurt.

So, I didn't buy these on Amazon. I bought them at my local running store. It's not often that I log on to review a product I didn't buy here. This time? This time I have to share.

I am a runner who has struggled with picking the right shoe, staying injury free, and running pain-free. I over-pronate, and previous to these shoes, I would have sworn I was a solid heel-striker. That tends to put me on the spectrum of motion-control for shoes. Previous to this I have run in Nike Equalon 3s and the Nike Zoom Structure Triax.

After a particularly serious injury that had kept me out from running and in Physical Therapy for months, I was looking for a new shoe to start back up running. My PT had three qualities she wanted to look for in a shoe: Lightweight, cushioned heel, but with some support for the over-pronation/super flexible ankles. I took these to my running store and they directed me towards the Cortana, which had just come out.

I tried the shoe on, and I am a believer. In contrast to a traditional running shoe which normally has a 12mm height difference between the heel and forefoot, the Cortana has a 4mm height difference. This, for me, leads to less heel striking, better form, and less pain/discomfort, even when I am pushing myself on a run. There was a period of breaking-in, where I needed to be particularly careful about stretching my calves because of the increased flex while running. I am two months into these shoes, with multiple runs per week, and I love, love, love them. I don't have a bad word to say.

Bottom line: If you can understand the concepts behind the minimalist shoe movement, but either aren't ready for a true minimalist shoe, or, like me, have previous injuries that make the switch a poor idea, these are the shoes for you. They are a perfect in-between step. They are worth every penny of the price.

UPDATE: I do have one complaint about these ... if I didn't love the experience of running in these shoes so much I would downgrade the rating I gave them. The mesh tops wear through way too fast. I am averaging 150 miles per pair of shoes before I get a hole in the top of the shoe. Unacceptably fast wear. I hope an updated Cortana addresses this issue. It's not a sizing issue, either, as I purchased a pair in the next size up and the same issue happened.

I run about 15 miles a week and these are truly a joy to run in. I've had them about a month now and refuse to wear anything else.

I bought this shoe because I'm seeking a cushion shoe for running. The last shoe I had that I really liked was an adidas climacool, first generation. It was actually quite different from the current climacools, with a pretty soft cushion and it doesn't try and prevent pronation. If anything I tend to underpronate. The old climacool also had real good arch support.

Anyway, this shoe is quite light and looks good. It has a lot of cushion in under the ball of your foot, but not much arch support. I will probably try and get an arch supporting insole and give it another shot (my arches are a little high). When I run I very quickly develop a pain on the outside edge of the sole of my foot that I haven't had with any other shoes. Like, within the first mile. I'm not sure exactly what causes it but I simply can't use these shoes for running.

Anyway, since I don't like running in this, I use it for walking and everyday use. It's quite comfortable and works well for that purpose.

I'm not saying this shoe is not good, only that it was not good for my foot. Kind of sad, actually, because I like everything about is except the way my feet feel after I run. Unfortunately I could not have told you it wouldn't work for me without actually going for a run. Just trying these on they feel quite comfy.

After wearing Five Finger KSOs for a couple years, which I think are awesome by the way, I decided that I wanted something with a little more grip/padding for light trail/street running. My KSOs are size 41, so that's what I got with these at first. They were too big howerver, so I tried size 40 and the feel just a hair too tight. When I first was using them I didn't do any running and after a couple days they seemed fine. Then I decided to run in them and that was a big mistake. The ventelation on the sides is great, but the position wes just right that the forward inside vent corner began rubbing away the skin on my feet. After running only a half mile I had to stop and descovered that there were blisters on the insites of my feet and one of them was already bleading. Also, the stitchig on the inside tips of the toes is a little too thick and rough, and leaves red lines on the tips of my toes. I'd give it these two stars, but it's not Vibram's fault my feet don't conform to their specific sizes that seem to varry from one model of shoe to the next. They do look nice though.

I've been wearing these shoes regularly for the past several weeks and I have not had any problems with them. The tongues that I had worried would rip have not yet done so, nor have they shown any signs that they will do so in the future. I am moving this rating from 4 stars to 5 stars. If the tongue rips, I will come back to this site and edit this post. As of now, I don't see this as being likely. These are great shoes!

I love Vibrams. That being said, I do really like this product, but it is not up to par with other Vibrams that I have experienced in the past. The one big problem with these shoes is the tongue. You need to yank on it to get your toes into the toe slots, which is normal. What is not normal, however, is how weak the linkage of the tongue seems to be to the rest of the shoe. So far, there has been no rip or failure, but it seems inevitable that it will happen. Maybe I'm wrong. I've only wore them a few times since they arrived, and they are cummfy enough and all, and I like the feel when wearing them, as with all of the Vibram shoes I've ever owned, but the durability of that tongue on this particular pair is just so questionable. And if it rips out, the shoe is garbage. So far it hasn't happened yet, and I hope it never does, but I'm not very confident about it. I won't give these a bad review until they have actually ripped.

New Balance is the only shoe I can find in extra wide in toddler sizes. True to size with the width to fit even while wearing thick socks in the winter. The stretch fake ties are super for allowing him to take off and put on and the velcro at the top is easy for little fingers too. Lightweight but durable these are the 4th pair of NB shoes I have purchased and I have been able to pass them on to my nephew as they always retain their shape and structure. I wash them in my washing machine air dry them and they retain shape and color. Good value for price.

Buy Spenco 4404000 Adult's Arch Cushions Full Length

I have used these Spenco Arch Cushions for many years and love, love, love them! For the people who seem confused; there are several different versions of these. Full length, 3/4 length, arch CUSHION, arch SUPPORT, etc. These are the full-length arch cushions; which are a piece of flat thicker, firm, dense fabric-on-top foam with a very thick, firm, rounded foam arch cushion glued to the bottom. The arch supports have a hard plastic or very firm foam molded full or partial foot bed. These do not. These provide moderate arch support and great cushioning in your arch and whole foot. They also provide insulation from the cold ground or hot concrete. I use these in almost all of my shoes, boots and even my slippers. Occasionally, my dressier heels or flats will be too snug for these, so I will use a pair of the 3/4-length version instead. I sometimes will buy my shoes a half size bigger to accommodate these, as it is easy to do and so very worth it! I put these right in my shoes, on top of the existing foot bed or insole. Currently, I have at least a dozen pairs of these and some are more than 10 years old. (Got tired of taking them in and out of my different shoes.) I have worn them from early morning to late at night, washed and dried them in the dryer many times, gotten them wet while hiking in the rain, snow and mud (and kept going). Just recently, my 10+ year old pair is starting to come a little unglued by the arch cushion, but is still useable! These can easily be cut with a scissors to better fit the shape of your shoe, if you like. They are generously sized. They don't deteriorate or compress over time, like others I've tried. And they don't fall apart. I have arthritic feet, severe bunions and a severely bad back which makes it hard to walk and function. But with these insoles, I can. I honestly don't know what I'd do without them. I've tried many other brands including custom made orthotics, but for me, these are the very best! My spouse likes them too. Worth every penny!

I have been wearing Spenco Arch Cushions for literally 20 years, ever since a doctor recommended them to me as a child for chondromalacia patella (soreness behind the kneecaps). I put them in all of my athletic shoes, although they're too thick for most dressier shoes, I find. (The 3/4 length would work better for those.) Spenco Arch Cushions not only give my arches comfortable, soft support, but they prevent knee and back pain. My doctor says the arch cushions prevent my feet from overpronating (rolling inward), although I know many people with high arches have the opposite problem. Spenco makes a product so durable that if you wash the insoles from time to time, they'll last you for years! The foam is incredibly high-quality and dense, so it doesn't collapse like cheaper versions. Use them in good health!

Recently i broke my toes and injure the foot bed, started to step funny to protect the toes. I had the hardest time to wear any shoes. Found Spenco inserts on Amazon, they were not so cheap but nicely made. I was so happy when i received, removed the inserts of my sneakers, and put these instead. Immediately felt the difference, they felt like i was wearing pillows under my feet, also gave support where my arches needed making my feet comfortable, the pressure of stepping eased. Before i know, i was stepping normal again. 5 months later, my foot healed now, but i left these cushions inside of my sneakers, they are great for walking around town, or in the park. They are so thick pillowie, help with the shock absorbance. I highly recommend them.
