I suffered from plantar fasciitis, and could never find a shoe that seemed to help the problem of over-pronating. Finally, I found these babies, and I am back in the game. Lightweight, great balance, they hug the foot and keep me landing squarely. The absorbent cushioning also helped correct a little knee discomfort I felt during runs over 12km. They're equally good on both the treadmill and the road. They are not as breezy as other shoes (my Reeboks were great for letting in the breeze), but it's not like they're a sauna, either.

I bought a size larger than usual to accommodate my orthotics, and I've heard it recommended to buy a half-size larger even without adding extra support.

Been running Asics for routine runs and marathons and they have kept my feet and knees very happy. I have had the GT 21xx's and the Nimbus. I think the 3020's are more snug then the GT's for my feet in a good, glove way (am slight over protonator and wide). The gel adds extra comfort and I like the stiffer, higher heel cushion compared to the GT's. I am a lazy man who does not like to lace up all the time or use a shoe horn. Finally they were at a better price point the nimbus and I didn't see the added value in paying more for them. I am still breaking them in but expect them to provide a comfortable ride for 400-500 miles.

I'm moving up from the Gel-1000 series, which has been my running shoe of the last three purchases. The shoe's a great deal for one of Asics's top-of-the-line stability shoes, but that's because it's a model year behind (the current iteration is the 3030). But that was fine by me... let others pay top dollar for the brand new shoe, and I'll pay deep discounts by buying last year's model. Suckers.

Shoe's great: it's my distance shoe, which I alternate with the NB Minimus Trail. The shoe's a solid stability shoe for neutral runners (which I am) and overpronators. You won't go wrong with it.

Major props to Road Runner Sports, who got the shoe to me very quickly, shipping it the very day I bought it.

I have a foot problem (Plantar fasciitis). I am not a sports or athletic person. I do 50% Brisk walk and 50% running. I used low to medium range shoes (including Reebok and Asics GEL 1150 series)in the past. Asics GEL 1150 was good for walking and slow running but, for a medium phase running, I feel strain. Also, some times the pain kicks in.

Now the new GEL-3020 : Used it for about 2 weeks now. Don't see much difference (including comfort) for a walk / brisk walk (compared to GEL-1150). Running (especially medium phase @ 5.5 miles/h), I see 30 % plus difference. Better grip/control, less strain. Felt the running was more easier / comfortable than earlier. Didn't get into the Plantar fasciitis problem. The price paid was more than double (compared to GEL 1150) but, GEL-3020 are well worth the money. Strongly recommend.

Ordered these for my 6 yr old son. He loves these shoes, they are light weight and as he says he can "run very fast" in them. He says they are very comfortable. The laces stay tied when double tied and so far they've held up to daily wear and tear with no issues. For the remarkably low price they are well worth every penny paid. They run true to size.

I ordered these for my 6 year old. The shoe seems to be a nice fit for her, my only problem is the fact that the color is not actually PINK it is a more of a fuschia which is not what I expected.Maybe they should change the description color for accuracy.

I bought these shoes for law enforcement bike patrol. I needed a stiff soled, aggressive tread and comfortable shoe for running hills, pedaling and standing while devouring doughnuts.

It's been five days in the field and they're doing really well. Very happy with the stiff sole, there's little to no flex while pedaling (and we're talking 15-20 miles a day of biking). They're super comfortable with great arch support and they grip super well. What's been a surprise is how comfortable they are when running. They're on par with my Asics Gel Nimbus shoes (now I haven't done a ton of distance, maybe a mile or so, but they were the least of my worries).

I will update as time goes on, but they're a 4 star out of the gate.

Added: Changed my rating to 3 stars. After 6 months of use, they're destroyed. The sole of the left completely tore off, the right has a hole in the sole, the toes are kicked out of both and they are now garbage. Being said, up until their last day of use, they were very comfortable, light and agile. Also, for the amount of trail running I did in them (and it was a lot) only turned my ankle once, which I credit to good grip on the shoes.

My experience is at the high end of what these shoes would be put through, and they held up. 6 months of biking, trail running, rock climbing, street running, fence climbing and jumping from roof to roof, 5 days a week, 10 hours a day.

I opted for what I hope are a more durable pair of the Vasques to replace these, with a more aggressive tread and all rubber toe. All in all, a pretty good shoe.

As advertised good trail running shoe. Went on a 7.5 mile hike on gravel/ dirt trail right after I took the shoes out of the box. Ran a couple of the miles. Upside: Light weight, comfortable, vent well on a warm day, good lateral support, and no rubs. Downside: Sole is not thick/ stiff enough for hiking over a seriously rocky trail.

these shoes are the best i am 6'2" about 200lbs and this is the second pair i bought. typically run anything from 1-5 miles, gym stuff everything just the amount of cushion and support i only wish they had more colors

Purchased this for some light trail hiking. Very light and comfortable, Size seemes accurate. I would recommend them for dry weather only. After a month or so of pretty high I use they still look newafter brushing the dust off. I like the sole as well. It is good for absorbing shock.

Once again, I put on a pair of Kswiss and wonder why I ever buy any other shoe--they fit my foot perfectly. Nice-looking shoe, too. I like how subtle their brand name is on it--I don't feel like I'm being forced into functioning as a billboard for their brand.

This brand, I find, does run almost 1/2 size larger than most other brands, so if you're between, say, a 7 and 7 1/2, go with the 7. The mediums I ordered are also a bit wider than most other mediums, so if you sometimes need a "wide" and sometimes not, you'll do fine with regular width in these.

I'll update this review as there is wear in this pair, but the last pair I owned I kept for three years of alternating running and walking days and another couple years where I wore them bumming around the house--those were well-made, durable shoes.

Review of New Balance Men's MT110 Trail Running Shoe

The good is:

1. Even in really wet conditions, these keep my feet perfectly dry.

2. Semi-wide forefoot gives toes more room than most D width shoes.

3. Low profile and snug heel are very stable.

4. Traction is generally good.

5. Very light

6. Feels very nimble.

7. Pretty much no heel lift! (YAY!)

Now the bad:

1. My left shoe is creasing on my big toe and hurts a lot after a run.

2. The interior shoe is made of some kind of crappy vinyl or plastic that seems to be the culprit. It creases badly where it bends.

Now the things that aren't really bad, but I'd like to see different:

1. Rock guard in forefoot makes forefoot feel hard.

2. Rock guard in forefoot reduces traction (especially noticeable on wet roots) because shoe doesn't bend around them and makes minimal contact when it needs to.

3. Mid-sole is quite firm. If this had Nike free kind of softness, I'd be very happy, but as it is, it's okay on trails and snow, but too hard for me on pavement.

Bottom line is for running in crappy conditions this shoe is amazing whether it's snow or mud. It feels very light, nimble, secure and fast!

I'm working on coercing the shoe to not bend on my toes by using a shoe stretcher and the bunion things to bump it up in the area it bends down and crushes my poor toe.

Runner: Flat footed size 12. Avid runner.

i usually wait a little longer to review products. but since i found it frustrating to find zero info on these shoes when purchasing, i figured i would throw in an initial two cents.

the bad...they are narrow. so if you have wide feet, i would be hesitant. they also do not have a ton of arch support (as a flat footer who long ago switched to trail running, this does not bother me in the least). zipper at the very top of the ankles can be a little tight, but i expect that to stretch a little.

the good...excellent traction on the wet rocks and trees and such. i felt sure footed at every turn and hop. dry feet is a plus with these with solid breathing. i took them through every puddle i could get them in and they were dry all afternoon. however, i am certainly going to clean after every run to preserve the water repellency of the outer material. the shoe is super light despite already having a full shoe on the inside and an additional sole.

overall...these shoes are a lot of fun and pretty much give you every reason to get your feet out in the winter weather. i would recommend.

I did one 3.2 mile run and walked around for a day in them. After the second wear the bottom of the shoe started to separate from the fabric. Not sure if it was a lemon. I ordered a new pair a half size bigger. I'll post again if the shoe starts to fall apart again. If not the shoes were good in the water. Kept my feet dry.

The length of my foot is about 7.5. The company sizing for this shoe is 7-7.5, 8-8.5 etc. So I am in between for this particular company. Love the overall feel and fit and of course the retro style! So I decided to keep both sizes and use an insert for the 8 and wear the 7.5 without socks. How's that for a solution for a shoe that you really want but isn't 'perfect'? Good luck and cheers!

So I just got these today but they fit really nicely and were much lighter than my older pumas I believe the night fox edition. The colors are poppin as usual. The heel is snug which in like and the curl from heel to toe is suited to for a more curved foot which was good for me, maybe not you though. The only thing I would complain about is the support in the ankle though I have weak ankles so we shall see how they hold up to the trails.

I've had one other pair of Puma Voltaic sneakers before these. I had them for over a year and a half and loved them so much. I'm on my feet all day at work, running around and my feet never hurt and my legs never got tired. When they started to wear out I was on Amazon hunting down a new pair. I looked and looked but the ones available in my size I just didn't love the color. Yes I'm a girl so color matters. I was just about to buy the glitter pink and purple ones when I saw the you might like these list at the bottom of the page and instantly loves the color combo. They were Voltaic so I was sold. I got them the other day and put them on and immediately went to work and just like my other pair no pain in my feet. I will most likely never but another brand of sneaker again, because you just can't beat out of the box comfort and the awesome colors!

The sole isn't too "busy" with laced cushioning which tends to throw me off blance and I like that this shoe has a slightly fitted elastic collar which is great as so many shoes that neck loses its support. Awesome color!

So I bought this thinking my feet would enjoy some squishy silicone goodness. First few days, were pretty ok. Not the unmitigated bliss described in their commercials but ok. I truly never felt like I was "gellin". After 8 days the the short lived honeymoon was over. The fabric cover started separating from the insole causing my feet pretty icky discomfort and blisters. After 12 days the material of the insoles started crumbling filling my shoes with little sticky chunks of blue mystery gel. I can't tell you the great sorrow it caused to me to see my shoes fill with such nastiness. I took a while to get all the icky bits out of my beloved boots. I apologized profusely to my trusty footwear, vowing to never again make them suffer this fate. Hopefully I will be forgiven.

In short, these Dr. Scholl's Massaging Gel Insoles do not massage and are a total waste of money. I mean $10 bucks for about 10 days of usefulness isn't really what I was looking for. They suck out loud. Don't bother with them unless of course you like messing up your shoes. Then by all means buy a case of them.

I think the reason so many people have problems with the different gel inserts is because they don't insert them into the shoes correctly. The colored gel part goes down. I agree this doesn't make logical sense since you would think the soft colored gel part would go up. But if you look at the directions it says that part should go down. And that makes sense when you read people's reviews and the problems they have they have installed them the wrong way! I have these in the shoe's I am wearing right now and really like them. The insoles in my dress shoes have worn down and there are holes through them in two locations where there is the most rubbing. The outsides of the shoes look great. These extend the life of my shoes and take away the pain form the holes in the current insoles. The only thing I don't like about them is they create a squeek for a while until they get worn in between the dress socks and the insoles but it does go way after they wear in a little.

I had been a fan of the Dr. Scholl's (DS) Insole for a few years. Because I have a peripheral neuropathy problem, I have feet that are sore and require some insoles that are well padded from heel to toe. I had been buying the DS Ener-Gel insole (about $15.00 per package) and had about 4 pairs one for each of the shoes I wear on a regular basis. However, these were wearing out, so I returned to the store to buy more. This model was no longer on the shelf, and a check of the DS web site indicated this model was no longer being made. Apparently, this model has been replaced by the DS Massaging Gel (MG) Insole. I purchased a pair, took them out of the package, and compared them to my original insoles. First and foremost, I should mention for others with foot neuropathy problems, the "last" thing you need is an insole that "massages" the damaged nerves in your feet which results in more pain.

In addition to this, The MG model appears to have reduced the gel padding by at least 50%. The padding that is present is almost totally located in the heel portion, and then thins out to almost nothing from the arch to the toe area of the insole. Also, even though the insole had been significantly reduced in materials/quality, the price was the same or more than my original DS Ener-Gel insoles. Wow! Talk about the proverbial "ever shrinking candy bar" that sells at the same price or higher, this is it! I can't recommend these insoles to anyone needing a significant amount of padding in the front portion of the foot, and I am very disappointed in the Dr. Scholl's brand for trying to "cut corners" (and improve their bottom line) by making and selling a cheaper product at inflated costs; thus, the reason for my one star rating of this product.

They're comfortable enough but the heels wear out and begin to crumble after only a few weeks of hard use. (And no, I did not have them in upside down as some reviewers have suggested.) They are then uncomfortable and leave a sticky line on your socks. I've had much better luck with brands/models that have a firm reinforcement cupping the heel, e.g. the Walgreens house brand, gray with a black rubber-like liner around the heel edges.

When I saw commercials for this, I thought "what a great idea" so I bought a pair. The heal makes it easier to "stand" for a long time but the design forces my foot forward when walking (yes, I put them in cloth side up). My heel becomes loose so it slips up and down. After awhile, my toes get so jammed up at the front of the shoe, I have to stop and kick my heal on the ground to pull my foot backward into the shoe where it should be. I think this happens because the heel is raised higher than the toe. I found it more difficult to walk with the product in the shoes than without it. Since I don't want to create some physical foot or leg problems due to incorrectly compensating for this, I stopped using them.
