After discovering this unfortunate characteristic when running in a light drizzle, I looked on the web for product reviews of the T217N. One reviewer commented that these shoes tend to "sip" water. Don't be fooled. These shoes suck up moisture (and God knows what else) with the efficiency of a dry sponge. Loathe to throw away a brand new pair of $90 (at the time) running shoes, I resolved to use them only in dry weather. Alas, I live in a city that likes to hose down the sidewalks: Damp pavement is no match for the Bounty Paper Towels of running shoes. I threw away the $90 and probably again that amount on ruined socks. You would think that a company like Asics would test market its design "innovations" and if they do, then this is a case of repurposing a production flaw as a design "feature" and dumping its inventories to outfits like New York City's Jack Rabbit Sports (where I bought this mess of dysfunction), confident that their so called experts are anything but. So, unless you are planning to use these shoes in an indoor track sterilized for runners with auto immune disorders, go with something like the Mizuno Ronin Wave 3s.

These shoes are great! The orange is nice and bright so if you like neon orange, you will love these shoes! My only complaint was that the rubber sole on the bottom started to come off after a couple weeks of use. I just put a little super glue on them and they haven't come apart since! (I've had these shoes for 5 months.) I really like these shoes but they fit a little tight for my liking. I wear a size 14 shoe and these size 14s seem to actually be a size 13. Not a big deal to me but if you don't like your shoes a little tight, then I would suggest maybe ordering a size bigger than what you normally get. With all this considered, I still really like these shoes and would definitely recommend them to a friend!

p.s. those holes let more water in than they do out, if you walk across you wet lawn you will have wet feet. However, if it's 90 degrees and humid outside, you will have dry feet :)

This is my second pair of Ultimate 81's. The first lasted my a couple of years before they finally wore out. Definitely would not recommend these for running as they don't have much support but for walking, running errands, etc., they are great and they look even more cute in person. You also get an extra pair of laces in another color which is a nice bonus. I find them to run pretty true to size, I'm usually an 8.5 or 9 and the 9 fits perfectly.

This was my first pair of Onitsuka Tiger shoes. I heard a lot of good reviews and I see a lot of people about town wearing these, so I decided to give them a try since the price was low enough. I have to say that these fit better than the ones I tried in a local store. The support was much better than anticipated. I have huge, wide feet, so was worried these would be too tight. But they fit perfect. I have to say I am impressed and will probably buy another pair in the near future depending how well they wear and tear over time.

i was a little skeptical about the build quality of salomon shoes, as the last one i owned jettisoned its entire tread and sole. i must add that it was several years old, so i sure the glue just became brittle. it was well built and durable before its death throe.

so far, this shoe has impressed me and is virtually flawless. i appreciate its light weight, ease of cinching up the laces, and the sole provides good grip and very good support. the mesh fabric breathes very well to the point i can sometimes feel a cool breeze through the shoe; although i suspect it will not provide much protection in wet conditions save for the toe cap. i have fallen arches, and my feet feel quite comfortable without the need to replace the insole. tread design is aggressive and grippy, but seems to wear out quickly.

This is a very comfortable trail shoe for those with hight arches and wear on the outside of their shoes. I also really like the quick lace system which is one of the main reasons I purchased these. it makes it very easy to get on and off. This is my second pair of Salomon's and really like them

This pair of spikes are extremely solid. It has a very rigid plate and 10 spike pins on them, the most I've ever had for any spike shoe. The grip is amazing and i would highly recommend it to 100m sprinters who focus more on power rather than their sprinting cadence.

The shoe hugs the foot well and it looks very durable as well. I've trained in them for about 5 times so far, and there are zero signs of wear on them.

I bought these shoes because they were cheap and I needed a new pair. I usually buy "skater shoes" in size 9, but bought these in 8.5 and they're too big. They're also stiff and uncomfortable despite being worn daily to work and walked around in for 10 hours at a time. I've never had DC's before, but I won't buy again after these.

After reading some other reviews on Ryka footwear, I was worried about the sizing of these shoes (narrow and shorter than standard sizing). Based on what others have said, I went and ordered a size up and in a wider width (since I have big, wide feet). The shoes fit absolutely perfectly with the sizing up. My toes have lots of room and the heel is the perfect width for my feet. This isn't a super cushioned shoe, but it is padded well enough to protect your feet and give a good, cushioned feel. I would buy these again when my current pair finally wear out. I'd recommend these for light hiking or just walking around town. These aren't meant for heavy duty running.

I've bought Ryka's in the past and have enjoyed them. This pair, I wouldn't really call a "Running Shoe" since it doesn't feel nearly as padded as other running shoes I've owned. I bought these for Zumba as I had been wearing my Nikes' Musica for over 3 years. The little 'sweet spot' on the bottom has now worn down and I don't have as much traction, and too much slip and slide. These looked stylish, 'slender' and not clunky like the Nike's; but the fit doesn't feel as sturdy. The arch is odd and does not give me security (I have high arches). No problem with narrowing and the size 9 is the right size (Nike I had to go up a size). An odd thing: the laces feel like ribbons, and not cotton laces we know to be on sneakers. They are less expensive than the Nikes, so maybe that is why I feel they are inferior. Wish there was another Zumba sneaker, though. I will return them and get another pair of the clutsy Nikes! Sigh!

I bought these shoes for Zumba so they only really get worn a few times a week. I was a little disappointed when they first arrived. The leather is very stiff so I knew it would take a while to break them in. They are also rather narrow and don't have much of an arch. Plus the laces are kinda cheap, I'm always afraid to tighten them up too much because I'm scared the lace will break! On the plus side, they are very light which is to be expected from a dance shoe. They are now starting to break in and get a little more comfortable, but I don't think I would recommend them or buy them again if needed.

I gave this particular Reebok a try because I really don't care for the look of the regular zig tech shoe. This is, by far, the most comfortable running shoe that I have used. First day of use, I set the treadmill for a brisk pace and intended just a quarter mile to see how they would feel. After a while I checked the monitor and saw that I had gone past a half mile. These running shoes were so comfortable that I had just kept on running! Very comfortable and absorbs the pounding of a good run.

That's really the only thing I didn't like about these. I wanted orange, but when these arrived, the lighter parts of the shoes are almost yellow, and the orange is lighter than it is in the pictures. They're almost pastel. Way too ugly for me.
