These shoes are light and true to size, given they are goretex. There is a useful pocket on the tongue which stores your laces while running. Good traction in dirt and mud. Not sure how they perform on the pavement in the wet. Time will tell if the current performance remains. I will update later.

It's been ten years since I ran consistently. As a guy trying to start back up after several aborted attempts over the last few years, I didn't want to spend too much money. I was very pleased to get this pair for only $29. I took them out this morning on a ten minute run, and am quite happy thus far. They are incredibly light with good stability. I did not notice any uncomfortable pinches or rubs. Though I normally wear an 11, I bought a 12 just to be on the safe side, which seems to have been a good decision. I've bought shoes that were over $100 and so far I'm just as happy with this pair. I will update this review if anything should change. (Wish me luck!)

There is just something about Avia shoes that are extremely comfortable for all day walking. I used to wear skate casual shoes then switched to these night and day difference. They have excellent support, and my feet do not tire at all when out walking all day at Disney with the kids.

The only negative is the mesh uppers will let in moisture\water if you get soaked, so be prepared for wet socks as well.

When this pair finally wears out, I will simply order another pair from here on Amazon. But looks like they will be lasting quite a while, as they still look near brand new.

I bought these shoes because they were cheap and I needed a new pair. I usually buy "skater shoes" in size 9, but bought these in 8.5 and they're too big. They're also stiff and uncomfortable despite being worn daily to work and walked around in for 10 hours at a time. I've never had DC's before, but I won't buy again after these.

I paid about $40 for these shoes to wear to the gym. ASICS sizing is consistent and their fit is perfect for me. Also wear them on long walks and, while usually getting lower back pain from this, have had no problems at all. Wish I'd bought two pairs.

I have always been a New Balance fan because I have very wide feet and they have wide widths in this and many of their other models. I have also been wearing the 990, 991, 993, etc. series of shoes for about 25 years and always loved them. I even got the NB 2002 model a year or so ago and it just did not feel that good, but I decided to give these NB 2040 a try anyway. I am glad I did because they fit wonderfully. I also got the new 990 model and they are nice but not up to the fit and comfort level of this 2040 model. They are easily the best shoes I have ever had and it is a bonus that they are made in the USA. They are expensive but I think they are worth it.

I own a shoe store, have for 43+ years. I carry all the "top shelf" items. This shoe doesn't look like it should be any better than hundreds of other items we carry, but it is !! From the moment you put them on you can really feel the comfort and support differences between these and the less expensive products. $250+ is a lot to pay, for that matter so is $150. My feet have quite a few miles on them, I started to think that I needed to realize after 60 years of walking etc. you WILL have some discomforts that no amount of money spent on footwear can relieve.......boy was I wrong. I can wear these all day (on thin-no padding carpet, and concrete) and if I need my most comfortable pair of shoes for afterwork activities, the M2040 can handle that too. I am ordering a pair in the "new" black color (due in 5/1) this is my new "go to" shoe that I will want on all trips too. It's a lot of money, but don't skimp when it comes to your feet.

I'm a heavy runner; 220+ pounds and run 20-30 miles per week. New Balance is the ONLY shoe that I have found that protects my knees and provides total comfort during the run. The quality is everything you would expect from a USA manufactured shoe. Sure it's expensive and there may be another shoe out there that might provide comparable fit and comfort but I'm not looking. These shoes are great, I wake up with lower back issues between my paraformis. These shoes are amazing, theres springs in the heels that make it like walking on a cloud. I bought mine in a store in long island, I actually paid $140, the most I have ever paid. Im actually really glad I did because these have really helped my back. It is really like walking on a cloud, I don't feel the shock of hitting the ground.

I do have to say I have had them now for about 5 months, which is a really long time for shoes for me, and the springs are now starting to make clicking noises, like they need maintenance or a tune up. Im not sure if they maintain them, but I will find out. I have worn them EVERY day Monday thru Friday for the last 5 months. I work on ladders all day. I have told all my co-workers about these shoes.

Time to buy my next pair, but please find them online, they are a lot cheaper.

At first sight : outstanding product, They fit like a glove in your feet. The oversized shole works perfect in all terrain, nevertheless it was suppossed to be the "500 mile" lasting shoe but around 150 mile small portions of the two component shoe shole started to tear off tending to loose grip . I do not really tend to give bad feedback but it caused serious inestability around my heel while I was downhill so you can imagine that the situation was not funny. I hope that Tecnica will improve this issue in the upcoming models.

I can't recommend these because of the narrow soles. You would think a midtop shoe with bulky soles would prevent ankle rolls, nope. I think Tecnica should consider a wide version.

I tell myself to write more reviews when I either really like, or really dislike, a product. Then I don't. These shoes, however, motivated me to get my opinion out. Really, really great shoes. Perhaps the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn (and I've owned about a dozen pairs) along with a pair of Johnston Murphy golf shoes I owned about 15 years ago (that also happened to weigh about 20 pounds). These shoes are lightweight (I prefer to walk and 18 feels like an hour at the range). They perform (they grip the ground...the Ecco pair I tried, albiet at the store, just did not seem like they'd perform great on a wet course....but then again look at all the pros who wear them (for a healthy endorsement check?). They are built well (again, I was intent on going Ecco, but these seem much more durable and well made...the Ecco pair was comfy, but the quality seemed questionable (I am not, however, a cordwainer (cobblers repair shoes, cordwainers make shoes...but I pseudointellectually digress. I can wiki with the best of 'em)). They are stylish (I went with the tan saddles and can wear them with shorts or long pants, white or black socks (no-shows, of course), khakis, jeans, white...it all works. They are affordable (half the price of where they should be...FootJoy CFOs, cover your eyes). In short, music to my feet.

Ok, long review for a really short endorsement (the non-paying kind). Get them. And FootJoy, the price point is perfect.

I bought these along with other footjoysdryjoys and fj icons. The interesting thing is they are all different feeling. Icons feel like really nice dress shoes with a bit of added stability. These feel especially light and more athletic. In all, I'd say they are excellent build and design. Important for me, since I add arch support inserts, is that they fit just as well with the added inserts.

Great golf shoes at half the price of what I paid for Nike golf shoes. These FJ shoes are a much better fit, they look better, and are very comfortable to wear. Spikes seem to be holding up well so far. The smooth material makes them easy to clean, I just use a Bounty sprayed gently with mild soap water and the dirt comes right off. Great buy!

These shoes fit like a glove. I would consider myself a moderate runner, logging between 20-30 miles a week. They are extremely light weight and are excellent for road running. One thing to be aware of is they are vented from all sides. Meaning they have vent located on the sole of the shoe, so running after a rain storm will definitely result in soaked socks. Otherwise very happy with the product.

I was reading some reviews and I, personally could not be happier with these shoes. I have had four back surgeries and have not been able to run for nearly seven years. I live in a mountain rural area and have injured myself just attempting to walk up and down our hills. I recently got a treadmill and after walking in a variety of shoes and flinging them to the floor frustrated, I began to research the barefoot, minimalist running shoe, as I always seemed to do best barefoot. This however did cause soreness on the balls of my feet as I typically average about an hour at a time on the treadmill.

Enter the Vivobarefoot. So the shoes arrived, they are ugly, they look crazy wide, I have a narrow foot. Yesterday I ran for a solid 30 minutes. I cannot express how amazing this is to someone who has been trapped in a body that has betrayed them and I am only in my early 40's now.

So, the shoe is wide on purpose. This allows your toes to somewhat spread out while running. The lightness of the shoe adds to the fact that even though they are wide, my foot did not slide or slip. These are also supposed to NOT have traditional support. That is the point of barefoot running or minimalist running shoes. I personally need to feel the ground or I am the most graceless runner you have ever seen.

Today on the treadmill, I started with another brand of minimalist shoes. I thought perhaps I was just having an off day. These other shoes admittedly have a somewhat thicker sole. Those were flung to the floor in frustration. I alternated running and walking for about three minutes and was concerned I may sound like a herd of buffalo's to my husband who was working downstairs. I returned to my vivo's and my mojo returned. I am able to run much more smoothly, which does not jar my back. I am able to run with grace, run quietly, and am just happier in these shoes. In a traditional running shoe I am typically clunky, loud, jarring and just plain uncoordinated in general. These shoes have absolutely been a life changer for me.

These shoes are extremely wide for my feet. I would not recommend them for anyone with narrow feet at all. I had at least 3/4" space at the side of my foot. They are not at all like the Merrell Glove line of shoes that hug your foot and work well for those with narrow feet. They are much wider overall and I looked like a duck wearing them around. My husband even commented that they looked huge. Color was a nice vibrant crimson. The material the shoe is made from reminds me of Crocs. The literature in the package says the soles should last for 300 miles with proper barefoot form, but only 150 miles if you are walking/running differently on more abrasive surfaces.
