A great pair of shoes. They are very light, probably the lightest pair of shoes I've ever owned. They also have great arch support and are quite comfortable, especially in comparison to how light they are. They came 2 days after I ordered them, and I did the free shipping through Amazon, so the delivery was speedy. I do not use them for running as I don't care for Adidas running shoes, but rather as leisure shoes instead. I would say they are rather wide, so they fit very comfortably. The top of the shoe is somewhat mesh, but it keeps your feet warmer than regular running shoe mesh. I would definitely recommend these shoes to anyone.

I am a 25 to 30 mile a week runner, I was a loyal (any) running shoe fan, But decided to give Brooks a shot after my wife was such a fan.... I wear neutral shoes so I thought changing shoes would not be a big deal. So my first pair of Brooks I purchased the Ghost 3,I ran in these for about 6-7 months going through 2 pair seem like a great shoe light and felt great. Then I purchased the update which was the Ghost 4 and I immediately noticed the difference, did not feel the same as the Ghost 3 .... Not to be critical of the Ghost 4 model but, my feet had comformed to the Ghost 3 and the change was noticeable. I decided to look for a couple of pair of the Ghost 3 to buy could not find my size ....I went to a running store to try on different shoes to try and get that feel again of the Ghost 3, after trying on different brands I tried on the Glycerin 9 by Brooks and this was the greatest feeling shoe I had ever tried on...Any avid runner will know what feeling I had because it was almost therapeutic. I know this is my experience and may not translate to anyone else but, if you are looking for the best ride you ever had in a neutral running shoe the Glycerin 9 is the shoe for you. Insanity and P90X workouts require lots of jumping in every direction. The main reason why I bought these over other Brooks and Nikes was because of the front cushion that almost all shoes under $85 don't have. My arches were killing me doing Insanity and now they don't. There are many other positives including long shoe-life, comfort, breatheablity, etc that other reviews say.

Highly recommend to friends and family.

I put these shoes through some abuse and they are hands down best shoe for me. I will start with a little bit about me. I am 5'6, 170lbs, 8.5 shoe size, an 11:20 mile and a half, I have P.F, regular archs, with heel spurs and under pronantion. I took a huge risk buying these shoes before Officer Candidate School (OCS) but I did a lot of research and these shoes kept popping up so I bought them with a pair of Asics. In OCS we run about 20 miles a week and go through very intense training. I wore these the first 8 weeks and all of my aches and pains were gone, it was like running on clouds. I liked them so much that I'm buying another pair. They were slightly heavier then the Asics but they were more comfortable and durable.

I love these shoes! I have run this series since the Glycerin III and have always had good luck. The Glycerin 9 is by far my favorite yet. It provides lots of cush and comfort without being too soft and is still relatively light. The shoes also look as good as they feel. I may buy another pair now I like them so much.

I'm an IRB Level 1 Rugby Referee & purchased these boots during a time sensitive situation. Actually arrived two days earlier than expected. It has great heel & arch support, has the feel of any pair of Asics running shoes (which are FANTASIC, I owe a pair of GEL Kinsei 3s). I love the design of the sole & studs, really ensures mud doesn't get stuck or clogged up, also makes for an interesting (in a good way) grip feel on the field. Build quality is great & really well built. What you can't see from the pictures is that the "tongue" or material beneath the laces actually contains a synthetic leather filter that prevents any debris from entering from the front of the boot.

I've always worn Asics since high school track days. For the last decade or so it's been pretty consistent GT series shoes. Over the last 18~24 months I've been trying to branch out and try new things. This was my latest experiment. First off, this is nothing like the GT series or Kayano. This shoe is very light and has very little cushon. This is a shoe for racing (or for people who are very good runners who want a minimalist-type shoe). After training and racing in it, here are my thoughts: Training I use this shoe for my shorter, faster training sessions (4 miles and under and/or track workouts). Racing I recently used this shoe for an Olympic-distance triathlon (10k run). The shoe comes laced with traditional laces but included are elastic "speed laces" which I used.The shoe is designed to be used without socks, having said that I have gone with/without socks and had no problem. It also has "drainage holes" in the bottom which seems to be the trend now with triathlon-specific shoes. These are by far the lightest shoes I own and I can feel it when running.There is a trade-off of course, speed vs cushion. The 10k was the limit for me, no longer than that in these shoes, I could start to feel the stress/fatigue in my lower legs at the end of the race. On the plus side you WILL feel faster. The shoes went on fast (no socks) and didn't cause me any foot discomfort (blisters etc) at all. These shoes are not for everyone so know what you're getting into. These are fast, light, racing shoes. I give 5 stars becuase they do what they are supposed to do and do it well with a little flair too...

Great tri/running shoe. Only complaint I have is I wish that the tongue was part of the upper. Separate tongue and upper takes about 1-2 seconds longer to put on. Great flex, moderate cushioning. I love the color scheme. Definitely an attention getter. I have been doing my tris in the pearl izumi isotransition but this one has a slightly lower drop at around 6-7 mm Both have the drain holes in the sole which I like for tris but running outside on wet days gets kid of annoying because water ran come up through the bottom, but they do keep your foot cooler on hot days. Totally worth the trade-off in my opinion.

My husband works retail and is on his feet 8 10 hours a day. These shoes are the only ones that can hold up to that treatment. We buy him a pair once a year and they last for a full year before there is noticeable breakdown. All other brands and styles of shoes that are sold specifically for work all fall apart within 4 6 months. For the price I would rather pay a little more up front once a year than twice as much throughout the year. This is a shoe that proves its worth.

these are a very rugged version of a traditional trail runner, and theyre built to last. I live in Alaska and ive taken these through the wringer as a test before my 30 days to return them was up and they continue to look ne at the end of each day by just hosing them off.

These shoes are waterproof. That's true. Otherwise they are the most uncomfortable shoe I've ever worn. Let me explain why. There is a strip of material that runs along the top of your big toe on both shoes. What this strip of material does is forces downward pressure on the knuckle of the toe as you step through, prying your toe backward. Now doesn't that sound comfortable? Total design flaw which will lead to injury after prolonged use. I've contacted Columbia's customer service and have never received a reply. This is the last Columbia product I'll ever buy. Either stand behind your product or make way for other, better brands. I've replaced these shoes with the Keen Marshall waterproof shoe and could not be happier.

Bought these shoes just before a 9-day vacation that involved hours of walking every day. Never developed any foot or leg pain. Even took them for an hour-long run one day. Wasn't able to test the waterproof feature, but I would recommend these shoes to potential buyers.

Only complaint was that they developed a sweaty feet smell within a few days.

Note: normally I wear a size 12, but these fit best at a size 11.

I read the other reviews saying they run small, so I ordered up a size. That was not nearly enough!!! Order up a few sizes. I think they have totally mislabeled these shoes. My daughter is crying in her room: they are such darling shoes, but just pinch her feet terribly.

We are now on our second pair of these shoes due to growth. Our 4 year old loves them and they are very durable. The only down side (and why I give 3 stars) is that my daughter scuffs the toe up on her first use and it is VERY noticable. I have yet to find an inexpensive pink shoe polish (as I doubt I will need that color ever again after these shoes are outgrow.) But for now, they are great play shoes!

I love these shoes, they are my daughter's favorite! They are so adorable and I like that they are so flexible. I wanted to keep her in soft shoes as long as possible for foot development but now she's playing outside a lot and running around with other kids and needs harder-soled shoes. She was putting them on my herself at about 18 months, which made her feel great. They are also pretty durable, not quite as shiny as when they were new, but the leather is holding up well and they look way better then her little suede sneakers. The only issue (and why they lost a star) is because the insoles come out pretty easily and she likes to take them out & play with them and has peeled the leather off the foam more than once. You can order replacements though.

I do think they're pretty pricey, but look for them on sale and sometimes you get lucky (I haven't paid full price yet)

**edited to add: we have the red shoes so my comments on how they are holding up apply to that color only.
