Review of Salomon Men's Wings Sky GTX Fast Light Backpacking Boot

I have a "Salomon foot" with high arch and instep. I have a closet full of Salomon downhill ski boots, cross country ski boots, water shoes, and hiking boots. All good stuff.

Recently, I purchased the Wings Sky GTX to replace a worn-out pair of ten-year-old leather Salomon hiking boots. Wow! These are so much lighter, tougher, more stable, and more comfortable than the pair they replaced that it's difficult to string together enough superlatives to convey my delight with this product. I have subsequently purchased a second pair.

In my estimation, the Wings Sky GTX defines the current state of the art for heavy-duty hiking footwear. At this time, it doesn't get any better than this. Enjoy!

I purchased these boots after doing alot a research on a nice pair of lightweight yet comfy & durable hiking boots.

These boots fit the bill, I was worried about them looking like a guawdy pair of basket ball boots. But rest easy in the flesh they are easy on the eye and SO comfortable. So far I have taken them on several day hikes, and a couple of week long trips (15-20kg load avg), on varied gravel/rock/muddy trails in the spring and summer. They have perfomed great and held up well. I will update the review when I take them hiking in Japan during the hot humid times OR the winter sleet ect weather that we dont get here in Perth.

Basicly if you buy these boots you will be happy with your purchase, so will your feet and knees :)

I've done a fair amount of hiking in the tropical isle of St.Lucia where I live. I've tried a few different boot brands but this is by far the best. Never did I imagine that a pair of rugged hiking boots could literally feel like a pair of basketball sneakers. In fact, I can state with no exaggeration that not even my new balance running shoes feel better than the Salomon GTX. Ultra-light, exceptional cushioning and very rugged, these boots are definitely worth the price!!! Highly recommended!!!

Salomon has done it again! A Great Ultra Lightweight Hiking boot. This is my fifth pair of Salomon in the last 10 Months. I used this pair mainly for technical hiking, cross country, rain and rocky trail conditions. They are very comfortable, light, good ankle support, fit good and does not need break in. I went hiking the next day I got it. So far I hiked twice with this pair, they are both 17 miles with over 4000 elevation gains.

So far I've only worn these boots for a week in the mountains and desert of Utah. The boots have performed well in both the rugged, slick rock trails of Canyonlands and rocky, rooty, trails of the LaSals and Abajos. They are light and quite comfortable, have held up well through this admittedly brief time, and if you look around you can get them at a good price (mine were ($120). I'm a Soloman fan and these boots didn't disappoint in any way.

I spend a lot of time on my feet at work during a 12 hour shift so these shoes were perfect for me. They are extremely comfortable, light weight, and look good. I had to get the white pair for my job but I would not recommend getting the white ones because, like any white shoe, they stain easy. If comfort is a major issue, then I would definitely recommend these shoes.

These are super cute and light as a feather and flexible. No real support more like a slipper you can wear outdoors. I am a true size 9 and needed to go up to a 9.5 for a little more length at the toes and width across the arch which was a little tight. The 9.5 is perfect with or without a sock. Love them!

Giving these shoes 5 stars because they are unbelievably light. I was looking for a minimalist shoe and not quite ready to transition to vibram 5 fingers yet. These shoes are great, basically like running in socks with tread on the bottom. Note, you will need to run on clean pavement with them. You will feel gravel, etc underneath your feet. They ran small for me, I typically wear a 9 in running shoes but had to get a 9.5 for these to fit right. Love them, they just want to be out hitting the pavement!

I purchased my first pair of VFF's about three years ago when I read how they help eliminate plantar faciitis (mine went away after a couple months of wearing them). The KSO's fit my feet great, and I wore them only exclusively for two years before they were too messed up to wear anymore. The problem I had with those is that the stitching came apart rather easily, and how they lasted two years...I don't know. Once they were out of commission, though I ordered my KSO's online on a whim and they fit perfectly, I decided to go to a shoe store to try on other models. Bikila, Spyridon, velcro, laced; none fit! I couldn't even get my feet in the opening. I tried bigger sizes, but they left too much room in the toes. I thought I'd never be able to wear VFF's again. I ended up buying a pair of New Balance Zeroes, which I had to buy in a size larger, because like VFF, they don't make wide sizes. $110 for shoes that fell apart with minimal usage.

I like to check the VFF every now and then to see what new shoes they have out and if they've decided to make wider sizes. That's when I came across the SeeYa's with a traditional lacing system. I figured I would be able to pull the laces out enough to get my fat feet in them (I'm an average sized guy with hobbitt feet), so I figured I would take a gamble and just order them. Luckily for me they fit. Are they still a little snug? Yes, but not enough to make them uncomfortable. I also like the SeeYa's a lot more than my KSO's. They're more comfortable inside, and the construction seems quite solid. I do everything in them, and they haven't shown the slightest sign of coming apart, unlike my old KSO's.

If you are someone with wide(r) feet, I would definitely recommend these. If Vibram isn't going to make wide sizes, they might as well make all their shoes with traditional lacing. However, if you are someone with extremely wide feet, you're probably still out of luck.

I'm in the army and in an rotc program, I bought these to replace my aging PT shoes for running and general exercise.

These are the lightest, most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I immediately noticed an improvement while running vs my army issued ones. These shoes are extremely light, slim and flexible so that you never get the feeling that they're slowing you down, instead they seem to add a bounce to your run. Also, the cushion is excellent, so they definitely reduce the impact on your joints and muscles, great if you have a high impact routine, or if you're prone to injury or pain (knee, ankle issues, shin splints etc)

i bought these for my 10 year old. He is active but not overly active or crazy with shoes. I bought them in February so in Minnesota, we had snow through May. He alternated snowboots and these shoes. The right shoe got a huge hole on the side by the end of May. I just bought him another pair (although not through AMAZON because i bought them in February for 31 dollars and now on AMAZON they are up to 54.99 or so, and I will not spend that much on shoes for my son if they are only going to last 3 months. I bought the SAME exact pair, same size (his feet did not grow much) so I will see how long these last .. it is summer but if these get a hole, then it is the shoe. None of his other shoes ever had a hole like that.... could be a fluke. Overall though, he loves the shoe and they do fit pretty good. I'll try to remember to do another review at the end of the summer and see how these shoes hold up.

I have tried the F10, F30, and F50, synthetic, leather, all of them. This is by far the best. It helps you run extremely fast, helps control the ball easily, and has a great shot. They are expensive, but I got mine for $60 on ebay. An important thing to know is if you are a size 10 shoe for example, and you want to put in the support that comes with it, you might want to get a half size bigger. 10 is my perfect size but if I put the support in the shoe is way too tight. I am a 10.5 Nike so that should give you an idea of what size to get. If you do not want to use the support, get half a size smaller than your Nike size, same size as an Adidas shoe. If you want the support, get the same size as a Nike shoe or half a size more than a Adidas.

ASICS Women's GEL-3030 Running Shoe Review

I bought these shoes about a year ago as a beginner runner (15-20 miles/per week)...and have run in them mostly for training, 5K and 5-mile courses. Most of my running is on pavement/tracks. I have a history of plantar fasciatis and intermittent outer foot pain. These shoes have been wonderful and my foot feels fully supported, with plenty of room in the toe box and no rubbing/chafing around the ankles. I have not had any foot pain or difficulty. They are comfortable and light weight. It was recommended that I replace them after about 500 miles of running. I will be replacing them with the same shoe. I recommend them for the beginner/intermediate runner or if you just want shoe that provides you with good arch support.

Cheap Minnetonka Women's El Paso II Suede Moc

I bought these moccasins last year in a tan color for my 13 year old niece.

She loved them, but so did her sister and her mom who wear the same size shoe as her.

All 3 of them wore these shoes so often over the last year, I decided to buy another pair

for them this year in a different color.

They are true to size when you receive them, but like all moccasins, they stretch at least a 1/2 size larger after about a month of frequent wear. The pair I bought them last year is almost a whole size larger after all the wear and tear over a year. I would buy a 1/2 size smaller than you usually wear if you plan to wear them a lot to allow for them to stretch a little.

If you rotate your shoes a lot or wear a lot of different shoes, I would order your true size.

I bought them for wearing in the house, but I could probably get away with wearing them out. The design is cute and the suede is good quality. The fit at first seemed a bit odd, but they get more comfortable by the day. I love the brand and have been a fan since my first pair of moccasins.

The only thing I wish they had more support in the arches and that they were made back in the US like they used to be. I have an old pair that were made in the USA and the quality is much better. That being said, these are still a comfortable shoe that I wear all the time.

I absolutely loved the Triumph 9. Trained for and ran my first marathon in this shoe and had absolutely zero issues. When I saw that the Triumph 10 had a re-designed upper, My first thoughts were not pleasant. I immediately went on line and purchased several pairs of the Triumph 9 at roughly 1/2 price just to make sure I had a supply for a while. One day a friend of mine showed up at our weekly group run and he had on a pair of the 10's. I asked him what he thought of them compared to the 9. He praised the shoe as being the best thing since sliced bread. A few weeks later, I was in our local running store and decided to lace up a pair of 10's. They felt different for sure, definitely in the heel. The height of the shoe felt lower in the heel also. I was skeptical, but I shelled out the $$ and decided to give them a whirl anyway. After the first run I was not sure about them, but after the 3rd run I was hooked. After about a month, I put on a pair of the 9's and went for a run, and did not like the way they felt at all. Af far as I concerned, the Triumph 10 is the best shoe on the market for runners that require a stable platform with good arch support..

I used the Triumph 8 before. The last weeks I ran about 50 miles with this new shoes and it felt like flying. I would recommend this model for everyone how was happy with the earlier versions of the Triumph series.

This is the best version of the Triumph I have ever run in. I have ran in the Triumph since version 5. The 10 exceeds all other models in comfort and stability, as well as colors and style.

One word of caution though...if you are a perfuse sweater, and you are accustomed to your shoes getting soaked on hot days, the insole begins to slide around inside the shoe. It only happens to me on runs that are in the mid-80s exceeding 6 miles. Now that the temps are cooler I have not had any issue whatsoever. I recently purchased my second pair.
