I love the fit and performance of these shoes! I've been using Zoots for the past 3 years and they're a perfect fit for my feet and running style. I tried the "minimalist" approach in between using Zoots and suffered foot problems, but when I switched back to Zoots, my feet were back to normal in a matter of weeks. I'll never switch again! Great shoes...I'd recommend them for anyone who competes in triathlons whether sprint, olympic, half or full IM. They run slightly small so I always get a half size larger than my actual size.

Bear with me in the logic chain... Originally ordered womens 7.5 but they were pretty tight across the arch (I have a medium arch) and too small/snug in length, as feet swell during runs I knew this shoe would wind up being uncomfortable for me. As the other reviewers said order 1/2 to full size up I happened to see these in men's size 7. Here's the logic, if the men's 7 = women's 9 (per size chart), (and these Zoots run 1/2 to full size too small) ((therefore men's 7 would really = women's 8 to 8.5))... Erego, I gave it a shot and I'll be doggonned as it actually worked out! I put CurrexSole RunPro inserts in them (women's 7.5 btw) and the inserts fit perfectly... Go figure... I really wanted this minimalistic style shoe so it was worth the effort to make it work. The toe box worked out great as I have a wider foot and the length of this shoe is approximately 3mm longer than my women's 7.5W Saucony Triumph 9, which is negligable overall. I can wear socks if I choose (and for marathon training, I do like to wear at least a thinner sock)... Why not order women's 8.0 you may be asking? Women's 8.0 = $140 vs. men's 7.0 = $85... I only gave it 4 stars due to the Zoots sizing is not "true" compared to other brands and is in keeping with other reviewers ratings...
Additional note: am a neutral runner, the CurrexSole Inserts add stability especially in the heel cup area and the soles of my feet do not ache after longer training runs (> 13 miles)...

If you ever buy this, please buy 1/2 a size bigger. I'm now thinking of giving up on it if it still doesn't expand after 5 runs.
I had blister on one side as the sock feel wasn't as fitting as I would want it to be and on my right foot, the toe box somewhat feels smaller than my left.
I didn't have issues with my DS Trainners and Nike Free Run.
