I just don't know what that something is! I am comparing this shoe to a Nike LunarMTRL+ and a Brooks Green Silence which are comparable in the group but all have different feels. I will say the Puma does have a very wide toe box which might make the shoe feel bigger than expected, but that is me. This is my biggest complaint about Nike Shoes, the toes box is so frickin small and narrow. So if you need room to spread out your feet then this shoe is a good one to try. This shoe does not have a cushon feel so if you are looking for any type of support under your arch stay away, this is a pretty flat feeling shoe with a not so comfortable feel until they are really broken in, unlike other shoes i've had.

Overall, lightweight, fits my toe box very well, and is holding up to 10k a day very well. Some downsides, but if you can find it at a deal it's worth the try...

Review of Spenco Polysorb Flow Cool Insole

I bought the FLOW Cool inserts to replace the sock liners in a pair of Asics 1130 running shoes (I have run 3 marathons in this particular pair of Asics shoes). The FLOW liners are generally the same thickness as the original Asics sock liners but they have more bounce and better arch support. They work perfectly for me.

Put this is one shoe and left my regular sole in the other shoe..no difference. Have psoriasis onmy foot and when it gets hot it gets worse..was hoping this would help...nope. Comfortable but that's it.

I have been using these a week (during extreme heat) and indeed, where usually my feet would be hot, they are now ok. Don't expect too much, but it seems to help.

As any insole, they do give decent (heel) support.

Material seems decent quality.

CONS

The arch is a bit too high for my liking, but it is no big deal.

Some tips for beginners:

If you're looking at vibrams you need to get them sized in a store, to your longest toe. They dont always fit as expected and you will save yourself some frustraion. Then I would recommend buying them online, especially because a lot of the stores that sell them are pretty pricy.

If you're just getting into barefoot walking/running try to take it easy and don't wear them for too long at a time and then work your way up.

Seeyas are the lightest shoes I've ever worn, I don't know what kind of magic they use to make a shoe so light but it must be some advanced wizardry with unicorns or something. I own many other pairs of vibrams (classics, jayas, bikalas, etc) but these are definitely my favorite. It is so close to being barefoot but without the perils (stepping on syringes, broken glass, gross bugs) and they can be easily washed in the washing machine.

Just got these today and they fit great. I have a wide foot and narrow heel so New Balance is always a great shoe for me. I ordered an 8 D (wide) and they fit a little tight for a wide but I would rather have a snug fit for pivoting and plyometrics. No slipping in the heel either. The stability feels great too. A couple of reviewers complained about needing more cushioning. Cross trainers are not supposed to feel squishy/cushy. The whole point of a cross trainer is to have comfort but good side to side mobility. Running shoes have more "cushion" than this shoe but that extra cushion will also make you turn your ankle doing side to side motion.

I'm a nurse and I work on concrete floors 8-12 hours a day. I've tried numerous brands of running/walking shoes (New Balance, Mizuno, Adidas, Nike) but for the past year, I've been wearing these and I wouldn't trade them for any other brand. The cushioning in these shoes is unparalleled. Previously, I had to buy new shoes every 6 months or so because the cushion would wear out and my joints would become achey. I've worn the same pair of Saucony Jazz for a full year and only now am I replacing them. You can't beat the price--at least 50% cheaper than the higher end runners I've tried (I used to wear Adidas Supernova and went to these after they were no longer produced). I have had several pair to wear around town--the color combinations are terrific and fun and they are great for walking /travelling. I order mine 1/2 a size larger only to allow for thick socks/foot swelling (I used to do double shifts and the foot swelling was awful by the end of the day) but I find that they are true to size. The foot bed isn't very molded, so if they don't fit well size-wise your feet may slide around but that doesn't deter me at all from wearing them every day & I just tighten the laces. I do not run in these, so I cannot speak to how well they do for running. Overall, I can't recommend these highly enough for you if you're on your feet all day. Take it from a 12 year nursing veteran--give these a chance!

These shoes are so cushy, I literally felt like Tigger while effortlessly bouncing around in them the first day or two. They definitely made my walking/running routine much easier and go by faster. Hope I'm not wearing the inner cushioning down too quickly! Thankfully, though, they're affordable enough to be able to purchase every now and again. They also do have a slight heel, so if you're used to walking in relative flats (like Converse, or [Ugg] boots all winter) then they may take a tiny adjustment. But the small height helps one appear more elongated. The colors are awesome, but never can decide, and classic black goes with nearly everything. Awesome, fun shoes!...and free shipping!

I love these shoes!! I have a pair of black and silvers and they really are my favorite pair of shoes. I'd say they give you at least a good inch in height, so my pants aren't dragging on the ground and it makes me look leaner. It's a simple style that is really good looking! I own the suede/nylon ones opposed to the all leather ones, and my only con about them is that the suede can fade due to too much walking in the snow or rain. This may be eliminating by spraying them and avoiding those conditions!! Otherwise they're comfortable and I wouldn't give em up for the world!!

This avia shoe I bought is amazing. It is more stylish out of the box and is very feminine. I love the blue stripe. The shoe's heel is extremely comfortable. I know it might not look that comfortable but the little gaps give so much cushion. The cushion doesn't come on the inside like on most shoes but it comes from the outside. I think the shoe was made for people with narrow feet. That is tottally me. I have such a narrow foot that I cannot wear moccosins or anything of the sort. My heel just slips jp no matter what the size. Well anyway regarding the shoes they fit me perfectly so just have that in mind. I tried loosening it up for the review and it still fits me perfect. Also the shoes are not actually brown. They are black. Overall you're foot will thank you if you buy this shoe under one condition. You're foot must be extremely narrow!

I have beeen a Nike snob for many years and continue to own several pairs of trainers. I raced in 3 triathalons last year and used the Nike Free as my running shoe. This was mainly because I wanted a lightweight shoe and believe in mid-foot strike running. I am over 200 pounds and started to feel the effects of no stability and no arch support. Upon researching the Brooks PureCadence, I noted the shoe to be made as a light weight minimalist shoe which has good cushioning and support for the arch. Immediatly I noticed an improved difference in my running form do to the built in stability and arch support. The cushioning is like no other for this light of shoe and I feel like I can run forever.

Basically what I learned is while Nike does make several good shoes, they are way behind the curve on running. It is no fault of theirs, they are large company and have many shoes for all sports. But, when it comes down to specialty shoes in sports like running, go with a company who specifically designs and tests shoes for this sport. Brooks makes running shoes and they do a great job. Some might think they are expensive, but I would rather pay for a quality shoe, especially to prevent injury.

awesome shoe, I wear a 10 and a half in hiking boots and casual shoes and this fits perfectly in an 11, So comfortable that the nike free runs that I had tried on and ordered at Dicks had to be returned as they felt like uncomfortable bricks after wearing the Brooks, they also are more comfortable than my Asics Gels and New Balance which have always been my go to running and all purpose shoes

Excellent transition for a beginner level runner towards minimal shoe running. I am 1.81m and 87kgs, so it suited my transition away from heel strike running. Average runs about 5km per trip at 26mins. However I do find that the groves on the sole do seem to leaves the durability in question. I have used the shoe for almost 6mths now. Still doing fine but I'm not expecting it to last past 1.5 years.

There is no escaping it the shoe is ugly (compared to Triumph, Hurricane, Guide)

It is very light, and the shoe laces are different than usual (thinner and flat) but they hold well (unlike the round show laces which tend to open mid running).

It takes a few minutes for the foot to adapt but the shoe is very comfortable and very easy to walk and run with.

These are my fifth pair of Salomon Trail-Runners, and I absolutely love them. I wear all my Salomons while playing disc golf on a wide variety of terrain in all different parts of the country. The 'Salomon Synapse CS WP's are both lightweight and sturdy, while providing exceptional traction. The kevlar drawstring laces make for a quick tie, and only add to the shoes stylish frame. I would highly recommend to anyone interested in a high performance trail-runner. I would also HIGHLY recommend this shoe to ANY DISC GOLFERS.

Like my first two pairs of Salomons, these Synapse CS shoes fit my "average to slightly wide" feet with one caveat: where I normally wear a size 12 (sometimes +/half a size), with these I require a 13. Thankfully, REI had that sometimes hard-to-find size in stock when they went on sale recently.

What I like about these shoes:

+ I like the look. I'm a fan of orange, so the accents have my approval.

+ Compared to my other lightweght and breathable Salomon models, these ones wear a bit warmer and are waterproof. Love them for cold mornings.

+ Very good breathability, even with cotton socks.

+ Grip is great, despite the tread being a less aggressive "block" pattern vs. the previous styles I've owned.

+ Solid construction: Based solely on my previous pairs, the pull-laces were problem free, the sole never separated from the body, they held up well to the salt water I exposed them to. Only the tread wore down with normal usage, and that's more than I can say for most shoes I own.

It is important to note that I don't use these as a daily "trail runner" as they're marketed. They're more my weekend dog walking, kid toting, beach combing, "walking around" shoes. A lightweight shoe that offers me good support and isn't overly flexy.
