I almost always buy New Balance and decided to try these even though there were no reviews. They are well made and good looking. Good support. True to size. The main difference between these and other NB I have purchased is that they feel warmer on the 'breathable' mesh areas are lined on the inside. Good for cooler weather, may be too hot for summer months (I stopped buying some other brands because of this). Happy with purchase.

My foot rolls a bit to the outside, and most shoes are not comfortable and do not hold my foot steady. I had tried various other types of shoes, which were not really comfortable or stable. Long ago I had a pair of New Balance shoes which was also wonderful, so I tried these, which have more traction on the bottom good for where I live in the mountains. I wore them to work all day on a cement floor, and another day on a hike, and they are great. I am going to buy 2 more pair.

Generally, when I buy a shoe, it takes a certain amount of breaking in time. Not so with the New Balance WO689 Multisport Hiking Shoe. This shoe was comfortable from day one. It's not overly hot, has nice padding on the inside, and is semi-water resistant as well. I love this shoe so much I bought a couple of extra pairs for later on!

I'm on my feet most of the day. Last time I wore a pedometer all day I clocked in at seven miles, and most of it on concrete. So I need a sneaker that can hold up to a lot of stress! My feet are a hard fit, for some reason I rarely find shoes that don't rub or chafe somewhere.

These shoes are incredible. They absorb impact, they breathe well enough to dry out fast when my feet get soaked, they actually look pretty decent and not like clunky orthotics. If I were to hike a long distance, these are the shoes I'd wear.

I live on Okinawa and I bought these to wear when I go snorkeling. It is often a long hike over sharp and or slippery coral and lava rock. These perform excellent in both conditions. The thick soles protect from sharp (and I mean really sharp) rocks, yet have great traction on slippery algae as well. They are also super light and swimming with them on is as close as you can get to bare feet. They also work great for keeping sand and pebbles out. I have walked thrugh soft sand and gravel and never had to remove them to rinse irritating rocks out. I ordered mine large enough to wear with socks and they are stylish enough for everyday wear. Bottom line these are the best, most versitile water shoes I have ever owned, or heard of. Worth every penny

Excellent shoes, but first the only con: for river shoes, they don't dry out as quickly as I expected. For the pros, I bought these shoes as an alternative to tennis shoes for long distance hiking, since hiking boots always bruise my ankles and give me blisters. To test them before taking them on the trail, I jogged a few days in them, up to 8 miles at a stretch, and was comfortable and didn't notice them--which is what I hope for in my shoes. Then, this Summer, I took them on two long hikes in the High Sierra, a total of 140 miles. They even scrambled an 11,000 foot peak. Because they're low-top and I had a 50 pound backpack, I wore ace-bandage style ankle supports between my socks and the shoes, and also always hike with trekking poles. They performed outstandingly well--no bruised ankles, only one minor blister on a 14-mile day with lots of downhill. It was nice to walk right through river fords and off down the trail. The soles gripped well on rock, and even did fine on snow crossings. And the shoes are easily put on and taken off. The seams held up well, though the outer webbing got a minor tear from a sharp stick (but this didn't affect performance at all). Next Summer I plan to hike the John Muir Trail in them. I would definitely recommend them to friends.

I am a medicare aged male who has lived in Florida all my life, in and around fresh and salt water, fishing, swimming, boating and kayaking. For a number of years I used Teva sandals or some form of water boot, neither of which is ideal for all activities. I wear sandals in the surf for arch support. Saw a pair of the Teva Churn watershoes at a retailer and thought they would better support and protect my feet while performing these activities versus the open toed sandals. Wore them surf fishing for the first time last week and what a disaster. They immediately filled with sand and shell bits...so much so that every space in the shoes that didn't have flesh had this material. A large annoying blob of sand was under the arch making walking uncomfortable. Tiny shell bits came into the shoe, filled up pockets of the mesh on both sides of both shoes and small bits of shell stuck in the ridges of the soles. I finally took them off and traded them for my traditional sandals. The shoes do not dry well. I spent a half hour or more trying to get all the shell bits from every possible place in and on the shoes. I was not successful. They may be great in fresh or clear salt water or while on the power boat. However, they are not for the surf, period.

These are just super shoes for around the water, when you know that you are going to get your feet wet. I use them for kayaking. Previously I had used sandals, but had issues with gravel and little stones constantly getting stuck under the soles of my feet. No such problem with these. The shoes are comfortable, light, quick to dry, and quick to put on and take off.

I typically wear a size 12 (just about a perfect fit in nike shoes) and based on other reviews I ordered both a 12 and a 13 unfortunately the 12 was too small and the 13 was too big (no half sizes options for me). I ended up returning both pairs and going with the Soloman Geko in size 12 and have been really pleased with it. My wife ordered the women's version of the Teva Churn and it fit her well. Comparing the Teva Churn to the Soloman Geko in-use, the Teva is a slightly lighter shoe with a little more breathability than the Soloman, however the Teva also seems to hold water longer than the Soloman. The Teva generally stayed damp while wearing and had to sit out overnight to dry out; whereas the Soloman dried more while wearing and if wet in the morning was dry in the afternoon. The drying differences could be due to differences between my wife and I, but I figured I would give my experience since I find comparisons in reviews really helpful. Overall, this is a good shoe for the price.

First of all, I hate buying shoes...I hate wearing shoes. If I could get away with being bare foot all day, I would but alas the no-shoe memo has already been buzzing around the work place. It's hard to believe with all the stilleto wearing gals in the building, I would be getting compliments from people albeit probably just the granola eating, tree-hugging sorts. I'm thrilled with the color very neutral and versatile. I've paired them with khakis, shorts and casual skirts. I've been told they look like ballerina slippers (by a girl) and ninja butt-kickers (by a guy).

Some reviews have complained about the velcro but I haven't had a problem with mis-alignment or discomfort because of it. They are extremely comfortable although I don't notice a whole lot of difference between these and regular shoes my body may know on some level but perhaps because I walk around barefoot so often, I don't have to adjust as much (or perhaps there is no difference and I've been duped...cue the dramatic music).

I typically wear a size 9.5 shoe although my feet are closer to 9.25. I went to a store to try these on (they only had bright red and black) before and I was more comfortable in the 9.5 (some have suggested going smaller). They don't fit like a glove but are still pretty secure and I don't feel like I have to worry about my ankles turning as much a major problem with sneakers higher off the ground OUCH!!

Overall, I'm thrilled with the shoe and am so happy Merrell and Vibram made the non-5-toe version for us folks with "special" feet.

I have never experienced such comfort in a shoe. I have a wide foot and a high arch and finding a shoe that fits is extremely difficult. This shoe is perfect! This is the type of shoe that many of us look at, contemplate, and then don't buy. If you're really going to run in them, logic tells us to get a "real" running shoe. My son bought two pair of reeboks for back to school and for some reason this pair runs a little larger. We bought a size 13 and he has plenty of growing room, probably should have gone with a 12 1/2. In a different style of Reebok the 13 1/2 fit great. Not sure what is up with that?? He usually wears a 13 1/2 in Nike and a 12 in sperry's. So maybe the other pair just runs small?? He loves the look and can't wait to wear them (they are for school so I can't comment on durability yet).

I was hesitant about making a footwear purchase online. I needed new winter boots and saw the Columbia Sportswear Men's Cascadian Summit II Snow Boot. Alright, I wasn't going to leave any feedback (I usually don't) but the last week with these boots has been incredible. They're extremely comfortable when it's cold, and I just walked through 2-4 inches of water in my basement and my socks and feet are bone dry and warm. THAT is what prompted me to write this. Very impressed. Best pair of boots I have ever owned and will definitely be buying another pair once these have worn through.

I bought these shoes because I have multiple foot problems and was tired of wearing out $130 running shoes in two months after wearing them daily, not running in them. I have torn multiple tendons, including my Achilles', in my feet. I have extremely high arches and an intractable case of plantar fasciitis, for which I've had surgery twice. I supinate when I walk, putting all of my weight on the outside of my feet. I wear orthotics that are an inch thick and need a deep heel cup and big toe box. Virtually all running shoes are made for those who probate and have flat feet. My orthotist recommended Aetrex for longevity and support.

The shoes felt like they would hold up longer than my standard two months (I wear Brooks exclusively, and Brooks are known to be among the most durable and long-lasting). They seem well made.

Though I took out the insole to accommodate my orthotics, it appeared to be the most cushioned insole I'd ever seen. The heel cup seemed to be no deeper than the heel cup of the Brooks (known to have deep heel cups) but nonetheless deep by most running shoe standards. I did find my heel slipped, even with the laces through all holes.

The toe box was wide, though I could have used it a bit wider. The difficulty for me was that these shoes felt a half size too big. I wear an 8.5 in every other running shoe I've ever tried on, and though I ordered an 8.5 wide in these shoes, they fit like a size 9.

I'm considering the size 8 but have sent the 8.5 back for the time being. The Orthotic Shop was fantastic -fast shipping and easy return shipping. So I'll consider using them again.

All in all, the price seemed fair. I pay between $100 and $130 for my other shoes because I can't find less expensive shoes that accommodate my many foot problems. So while these are very expensive, they are or would be worth it to me if they held up like they seem like they would.

My 8 year old daughter absolutely loved the style and color of this shoe. However, she needs the wide width. We have been loyal to Stride Rite for years due to the lack of wide width shoes available by other companies. To my surprise, this was actually offered in wide sizes so we gave it a try. The color and style are as pictured (hence the 2 stars), but these are NOT wide width at all. There is nothing on the shoe label itself to indicate it is a wide width (although the box is marked as such). I returned the shoe and re-ordered thinking it was a packaging error. When I received the second shipment there was no difference. She could not get her foot into her regular size. I ordered up a size too and although she got it on, it was way too narrow in the front and hurting her. We are going to try New Balance next as the Stride Rite styles are becoming less age appropriate as she gets older. If you are looking for a true wide width shoe, I do not recommend this sneaker.

The Original MuckBoots Unisex Edgewater Camp Shoe Review

I've used these shoes for ages to go feed the animals, muck out stalls, take out the trash, water the plants, fetch some wood, harvest the garden, as well as inside tasks. They are easy to slip on and off without bending down, which is especially nice if they're dirty and I don't want to track anything in. The insides are fabric so I don't have to wear socks, but the fabric is slippery enough that I can still easily get them on while wearing socks. They are cushioned inside which makes them extra comfortable. They have some give to them while still being sturdy and providing more support than you'd expect. They seem to be impervious to mud and stall gunk and can be hosed off easily. The stretchy collar allows ease stepping into them while still offering a snug fit around your foot to keep bits of dirt out. I've been so pleased with mine, I bought a pair for my son as well. These are great shoes for all sorts of inside/outside casual activity.

Five Star Rating!

My daughter told me how good her Muck Boots were for the barn, but until I purchased a pair of the Edwater Camp I didn't understand her enthusiasm! These are comfortable in both wet or dry conditions. I bought them for use at our summer trailer in Canada, and found I used them year round, even back at home.

My experience with most camp shoes are that once they get wet, they don't dry out. My feet stayed dry until they were completly immersed in water, then dried out withing a few hours. Even when worn wet, they are comfortable and stay on your feet. They clean easily and hold thier shape.

An excellent choice for hard-core campers, or the occassional RV'er who has to walk on wet morning grass. Well worth the money. My first pair is still in good shape and I have used them constantly for 3 years.

We have had a very rough winter here at our farm in Northeastern Kansas. Snow, ice, blizzards you name it, we have had it.

After falling a few times in the walk from the house to the barn, I purchased a pair of YakTrax pro shoe crampons.

Oh, they worked beautifully. I felt safe. I felt secure. I could walk around the farm, checking on animals, without fear of falling.

Now, I walked carefully, I was not incautious. But these worked wonderfully.

Unfortunately, after only two weeks of daily use, the curled wire broke on one of the YakTrax.

I suspect it is because under the snow, under the ice, we have a gravel driveway and a gravel road. These might work fine for you if you stay off any gravel, even though it is under a cover of snow and/or ice. But I don't think they were built for really tough use in a farm situation.

So, if you are only going to use these walking on maybe a paved, snow-covered driveway or sidewalk, or only on your snow-covered lawn, they are probably fine. But if you live out in the country and have a lot of gravel underfoot, don't buy these, as disappointment will soon follow.

My husband bought my Yaktrax for me about seven years ago when we moved to the mountains and had a very icy driveway. After just one use, I was amazed at how well they worked. We no longer live in the mountains but still have a steep driveway which can be quite treacherous during the winter months. Even when the driveway is a sheet of ice, stranding our cars in the garage, I can walk down to the mailbox without any trouble. This review is for the Yaktrax Pro only....the cheaper version has "wimpier" crampons that are not as effective, as a friend discovered after our last snow in December. As I said, my Yaktrax Pros are seven years old and still going strong...I can't imagine a winter without these nifty devices.

My wife walks our dogs through heavily wooded terrain in all kinds of weather. She was introduced to YakTrax by fellow dogwalkers who swore by them. She was cautioned not to walk on asphalt or concrete in them, as they will break in those conditions. I've bought a pair, and they saved my back on several occasions. I once went out on ice with my husky without them, and fell and was in he hospital for several days. Ice is no joke! Not sure what the last reviewer was smoking, but I love mine. The non-pro version has a tendency to come off, so if you do anything in deep snow or in the backcountry, get the pro version. They're worth it.

These really help on ice and packed snow. When tromping around in the wintertime and I'm not wearing snowshoes, these a pair of gaiters are standard fare.

I purchased wildcat 2.0 for my souyh-bound Appalachian Trail thru-hike.

They were comfortable, quick-drying, and I didnt get any blisters.

The problem was that they fell apart after about 250 miles of hiking in Maine. I was concerned they wouldn5 last untip gorham, new hampshire. I hwr to do a lot of duct taping.

For short hikes they are fine. I do not recommend for long distance hiking. Go with merrell.

I discovered La Sportive Wildcats a few years ago and have been a dedicated fan ever since. This shoe is adequately cushioned for moderate trails, dirt/gravel roads, and some pavement running. It offers protection commensurate with its design, meaning it is not a hard core rocky trail type shoe, but is perfect for less challenging terrain. I used Asics 2120 2140 trail shoes prior to buying the Wildcats, and was quite happy with them, but find the Wildcats offer a better and more comfortable fit and a roomier toe box. They feel lighter than their actual weight and are as speedy as I could hope for without going to a lighter shoe that offers less cushioning and protection. It occupies the center ground in trail shoes, neither a superlight barefoot trail runner nor a heavyweight super protective Hummer of a shoe. For my type of running, mostly forest service roads with some singletrack and an occasional road run they are perfect.

I'll keep them only for walking, just because they look top notch. The EUR sizes are correct but the US sizes are half size small (maybe even 1 size small), I'd suggest take a half size bigger than your (max) US size.

As it comes to actually RUNNING, these are hell stiff and not flexible AT ALL (unlike Mizuno's which are stiff but still flexible). I felt no cushion (too close to the ground). No energy return, not a bouncy shoe at all.

I can't comment on durability but it does seem pretty solid and high quality. I'd not really categorize this shoe for running.
