Got these in place of the PUMA Basket's that were too small and narrow and I finally gave up on. This shoe was a much better choice. Looks exactly like the shoe I grew up wearing in the 70s. The shipping was super fast and I opted for super saver shipping. I was worried the shoes would be too bright but they were nice and pastel like. The problem is they were too narrow even openning the laces. Also I ordered a size 8 my normal size and even with a very thin sock they were too tight. Even with all those problems I thought they would be the most comfortable shoe (like on a cloud) they were not. I returned them very easily and was refunded promptly. First, I have to say that these shoes fit like a dream and look so very good on your feet. Yes, they look a little strange in pictures and in real life, but they look so great on! Many Reebok shoes have been getting too narrow, but these are just right. Now for the bad part... I have only had these one month and the inside back of the heels are totally worn through. At this price, I expected the shoes to last a lot longer. To be fair, I walk 3 to 4 miles a day so I didn't think they would last 6 months. I just think that one month's wear is not enough. So, if you are a casual walker and want a great fit, these will work. Best Salomon Women's Speedcross 3 Trail Running Shoe Deals
Now, to be fair, this is first time I've ever really invested in trail running shoes other than Nike, Saucony & New Balance so there may be a better trail running shoe but let me tell you how I used them and how they held up.
I ran my first ever obstacle race last weekend (Spartan Sprint) in Malibu, CA. There were trail runs (uphill and downhill), wall climbing, crawling under barbed wire, running through waist deep water (and yes even swimming through an ice cold pond), fire jump, and other crazy obstacles. I bought these shoes a few days before the race and wore them twice before the big day.
The water resistant technology was awesome as one of the water crosses was right at the beginning of the race. By the time I got to the top of the trail my shoes were almost dry until I had to go through the water again. I liked the way the shoe pushed the water out and it didn't make my socks, shoes or feet squishy like regular running shoes would. These shoes are also mud resistant and good thing because there was a lot of mud that day. I didn't get any debris inside the shoes (I was also wearing wool sock), and I went through a lot of loose dirt, too and none of that got inside the shoe. No blisters, just total comfort.
I was so happy I bought these shoes. I didn't slide going downhill, and they gripped going uphill as well as when I had to scale walls (even greased up walls). I am thoroughly impressed.
When I got home from the race, my shoes were covered in mud and since you can't put them in the washer I just scrubbed them with a soft brush and clean water and they came out as good as new. I let them air dry and I took out the soles to let them air dry, too. I think for any trail running I do, especially obstacle course racing, I will stick with these. Pretty awesome shoe. I am female, and I own the size 7 in the black/teal color.
They are well made, have a very comfortable heel, plenty of room in the toe box, broke in quickly and conformed to my foot. I really like the lacing system and the toe cap. I tend to stub my toes near the end of trail runs, and this has saved me from several black toes.
I recently wore these in the Tough Mudder. I was one of the few people that wasn't slipping and sliding all over the place. Traction is terrific in almost any terrain, though they obviously aren't shoes for serious road work. The laces kept them on my feet in the worst of shoe-sucking mud pits. The clasp on the laces did get gunked up and made it difficult to remove the shoe, but worked just fine once the mud was rinsed out.
I do occasionally have some issues with rocks getting into the heel (running downhill on gravel is the worst), but all shoes would have that problem so I won't hold it against them.
They won't keep your foot from getting wet, but they dry very quickly and don't hold water in like some of my previous shoes. (I'm looking at you, Nike Shox.)
They cleaned up very easily. Just rinsed off the worst of the mud and gravel and threw them in the washer. Presto.
These won't be the greatest in the winter because they are too breathable.
They don't have a lot of arch support, but there is plenty of room to add if needed.
If you are looking for a great trail shoe, I'd highly recommend these. Definitely well-made and worth the money.
***UPDATE***
I've worn these shoes for over 50 miles of trail races and countless training miles. While I see a little wear on the lugs, they are still in nearly new condition. The laces and slider have held up well and the shoe itself still looks and feels great. Don't even think I'll need a new pair for racing season this year. Definitely have held up very well!!

I also tried the Salomon XA Mission, which got rave reviews, but the toebox fits extra wide. I also tried the Salomon Crossmax, which had a great arch but fit like a motion control shoe, so my gait felt very stiff and unnatural.
The Speedcross 3 purple looks great and the fit is perfect: strong arch support, well cushioned, hugs my narrow feet very well, low volume toebox but still plenty of room to wiggle toes. I also love the speedlaces, easy to use and works great.
The tread is very aggressive, which is great for mud and trail. But I will warn that walking on hard surface felt a little weird as I can feel the treads "wiggle" (compress, tweak side-to-side and rebound), it's a low "wiggle" so I don't feel unstable in any way. Not sure how the treads will wear on hard surface over time.
The shoe also feels very light for a water resistant shoe, it's not Gortex but Climashield. It's supposed to be breathable but I haven't tested the waterproofness yet, but will testing them soon on the trail. Highly recommend for grass, dirt, any soft surface, trail or muddy/wet conditions.

It was the most recent near-ass-busting that sent me to REI to try on any and all trail runners they had. A friend of mine works at REI in Sacramento, and she had recommended NOT to get a true hiking shoe/boot, but a trail runner, since I prefer a more lightweight shoe. So I did a ton of research online and hit up the stores. REI did not have what I originally went in for, but I tried on several pair including 3 different Brooks and these Salomons. Right away these felt like they cradled my foot perfectly and gave good support and cushion. Most importantly, the tread on these suckers is FIERCE. I balked at the price at first ($125 @ REI, yikes), and tried on a few others there and elsewhere but I ended up going back for these (wish I had waited and gotten them at Amazon, looking @ the price).
I didn't realize til I got these home and started reading about them online that they are a competition shoe. So maybe I look like a tool out on the trails, I dunno...but they are worth it. The tread grip is unbelievable, and the sky is the limit as far as distance is concerned because they are so supportive and comfortable. They also work okay for flatwater kayaking (where you may encounter *some* water but are unlikely to get turned over) because they are waterproof...however, if you do more intense rapids or something where you are more likely to roll, I don't know how they would do. I would suspect they drain okay because they are supposed to, but I haven't tried it. I have taken them about mid-depth in streams, and they stay dry as a bone.
So from a hiking perspective, these are definitely recommended. Don't shy away from trail runners just because you aren't a "runner"!

I have narrow feet and a high arch, so need a shoe that has good arch support, good cushioning and low volume but still roomy toe box that is not too stiff. I've been a Salomon fan and own several older model XA Comps/XA Comps GTX and took that on many trips (from hiking in the desert to trails in Hawaii). I now need replacement shoes since I've killed the old ones. For athletic shoes, I'm usually a 9. For all Salomon, I wear a 9, same for these (I also wear 9 in ASICS, but 9.5 in Nike, Brooks and Puma).I tried on just about every major brand to look for some trail hikers/trail runners and they all fit too wide. My daughter is about as picky as you can get when it comes to shoes. The seam isn't right, the arch feels weird, the heel is too tall. Whatever it is, I have heard it. Reviews of KEEN Newport H2 Sandal (Toddler)
The price that Amazon was selling this sandal at was unbelievable at about 65% off and lower than anywhere else. Of course it is subject to change but check out the different patterns for different sizes and you may get one color at a fraction at the price of another color. I have a little 14 month old walker who is wearing size 3.5 for stride rite. I bought the size 4 Keen (which is the smallest anyway). The length of the Stride Rite size 3.5 and Keen size 4 were the same. The Keens are just way wider. My little one does not have wide feet and I can see some space on the sides especially when she does not wear socks. You can't make them less wide with the velcro strap. However, they seem to fit fine to her and she took off running when I first put them on. I also have a pair of crocks that are much lighter. However, she does not like to wear those. Great toe protection. I would not recommend them for little ones that are not walking yet.
I had to buy them a full size bigger than what they wore in their other shoes, for both the 21 month old and the 4 year old. the little kid sizes are kind of hard to put on, so my 4 year old needs a little more help with his shoes than he does with some of his other shoes.
Here are my favorite qualities of the Newport H2:
1. Quality tough, yet comfortable. Sturdy but flexible soles, cushy insoles, comfy stretch fabric that lines the uppers. The fit is so perfect. I tried some cheaper imitators from Target and Old Navy, but they either didn't fit properly, or were so cheaply made that they looked like they would fall apart quickly. Newport H2s look better, and hold up better (even after washing).
2. Washing so easy! Wash on cold with detergent and air dry. Consider using an old toothbrush and mild soap to get any gunk out of the footbed, but that is the hardest it gets. Even a one year old will get their shoes filthy, so consider washability a must.
3. Design perfect for beginning walkers and growing feet. The rubber sole grips the floor and protects tender feet while still being flexible. Its toe cap prevents "road rash" and toe-stubbing. The Velcro ankle strap opening allows for a snug fit, while still allowing easy entry. (I tilt the shoe to the side to get the big toe in first, then twist to make sure the little toes don't get caught.) The heel strap helps get a perfect fit and avoids folding under.
I will continue to buy these shoes as my son gets older (and for successive children). One warning in use, though: when you go out in the sun and put on sunblock, remember to put it on your child's feet before you put their shoes on. Otherwise, they get a really funny tan line. ;)

No pressure spots, no red marks, no sore feet, when worn with or without socks. They never fall off their feet. The velcro has held up well so far, only a month old right now. Some may flinch at the idea of spending $40 on a pair of shoes for a kid who is barely walking (I know I did). I decided to take my son to a shoe store to try some shoes on, with the intention of just discovering his size and buying some cheapie shoes. The salesman suggested the Keen Newport H2. When I saw my son walk in those shoes, I knew we had to get them. He was a brand new walker at the time, but the H2s didn't get in the way in fact, they seemed to help his gait. Choose five stars because these shoes are really well made and very comfortable. I can wear them anywhere as long as there is no snow. Just beware if you wear without socks at first...they turn your feet black or even maybe the color other than if your order another color.

I love these shoes! I got my normal size (11), and they fit perfectly. If they stretch, I doubt it will make that much of a difference. I love this show very much! When you first try it on it will feel very narrow.... it's not actually narrow. They are very comfortable and definitely worth the money. The shipping was also fast so I got my shoes quicker. They were not too big either. They are pretty true to size.

I bought these for my 10 year old son and he loves them. As soon as he put them on he remarked about how good they felt on his feet. After wearing them at soccer practice, he raved about how great having the laces off to the side was for kicking. Great look, fit, and performance.

These shoes have allowed me to return to running after a recalcitrant case of plantar fasciitis. I had thought I wouldn't run again, but these shoes have eliminated all heel pain.
The shoes felt like they would hold up longer than my standard two months (I wear Brooks exclusively, and Brooks are known to be among the most durable and long-lasting). They seem well made.
Though I took out the insole to accommodate my orthotics, it appeared to be the most cushioned insole I'd ever seen. The heel cup seemed to be no deeper than the heel cup of the Brooks (known to have deep heel cups) but nonetheless deep by most running shoe standards. I did find my heel slipped, even with the laces through all holes.
The toe box was wide, though I could have used it a bit wider. The difficulty for me was that these shoes felt a half size too big. I wear an 8.5 in every other running shoe I've ever tried on, and though I ordered an 8.5 wide in these shoes, they fit like a size 9.
I'm considering the size 8 but have sent the 8.5 back for the time being. The Orthotic Shop was fantastic -fast shipping and easy return shipping. So I'll consider using them again.
All in all, the price seemed fair. I pay between $100 and $130 for my other shoes because I can't find less expensive shoes that accommodate my many foot problems. So while these are very expensive, they are or would be worth it to me if they held up like they seem like they would.

I bought these shoes because I have multiple foot problems and was tired of wearing out $130 running shoes in two months after wearing them daily, not running in them. I have torn multiple tendons, including my Achilles', in my feet. I have extremely high arches and an intractable case of plantar fasciitis, for which I've had surgery twice. I supinate when I walk, putting all of my weight on the outside of my feet. I wear orthotics that are an inch thick and need a deep heel cup and big toe box. Virtually all running shoes are made for those who probate and have flat feet. Palladium Men's Pampa Hi Boot Reviews
I would like to start by first saying the only thing that makes these anything in common with Converse All Stars is they are Hitop and Canvas. I dont think the French would wear these in the desert for 70 yrs if they were Sneakers. This is my 5th pair of Palladiums, and I can say without a doubt these are my favorite Boots I own. These are more suited for summer use being canvas. My waterproof leather version of these boots are perfect for winter. But as far as being lite weight and VERY comfortable these are unmatched. They are both stylish and comfy. They go with literally everything I wear From Jeans to Khakis. I just dont understand everyone comparing these to Converse All Stars. They are WAY more comfortable than Any Converse All Stars Ive ever had. AND they ARE BOOTS and NOT sneakers. Im NOT trying to offend any of the other reviewers Im just saying these are Nothing like Converse All Stars. Thanks for reading.

Up to now, the wearing pattern is always similar: they will start tearing on folds in the canvas.
Lastly, they seem to have a break in period of roughly a month.
They are light, have soles with good grip, keep my feet cool on hot days, are easy to clean I wash mine by hand although I have washed them in the machine without any adverse effects easy to pack, and give me just the support I need without unnecessary bulk or weight.
My first three pairs still had the original burlap insoles, no support at all though easy to wash, the present insoles are a lot better.
If for some reason, I hope never, the manufacturer decides to discontinue these boots, I hope to be informed of it ahead of time so I can buy 10 to 20 pair, so as to be sure I never have to "set foot" in those over-engineered, over-priced, over-promoted hideous spaceship resembling synthetic monstrosities passing for hiking-boots these days.

Honestly, they look pretty good for $42.00.They are definitely NOT the manliest boots I've ever seen, but they are versatile and comfortable. Basically, they are the Converse or Vans of boots. I will probably be buying these shoes again in other colors/styles/materials since they are such a great deal.

These boots are NARROW. Dont buy if you have flat or wide feet. Im not sure if Palladium offers these boots in widths but the boots in general are narrow. Overall these boots are great.
