I was in the market for new shoes a few years back. One night I went to the shoe store and ran into this very pushy salesmen. I told him that I was browsing and not quite ready to buy yet. He wouldn't let up on his sale tactics and forcibly put a pair of shoes on me. I ran out of the store crying, not sure what to do.

Every time I would try to take them off, a man would show up out of nowhere and tell me that if I didn't want them I shouldn't have put them on in the first place. When I tried to explain they were forced upon me he would say if they were legitimately forced on me, my body would have rejected them. And if that was the case, i should have taken them off sooner. Luckily I had the means to leave the state. At which point I could finally take those shoes off.

I was squeamish about buying new shoes for many years after that incident. After much thought and deliberation with my family, I decided that the time was right. It was time to buy new running shoes. I wanted a pair I could stand in. Be proud of. That say "this is my choice and it is the right choice for me." I tried on the Mizuno women's wave rider 16. They were perfect. When I first began wearing these shoes I thought my reproductive rights were secure. Turns out, I couldn't have been more wrong. Luckily these shoes are really great for kicking republican legislators out of office! They want to shut down reproductive and health care facilities for the poor in Texas? Use these shoes to shut down the state capital!

These go perfectly with any back brace you may need after good old fashion filibusting for 9 hours (with 4 more to go). What's that? Your crappy mean spirited colleagues on the other side of the isle say it isn't fair? That's right ladies, this shoe is completely washable, so just shove it up their ass.

The Inov-8 Lite-232 is a great all purpose workout shoe. The only issue I have is its not true to size! Recommend getting a size UP to what you normally wear. Other than that.... 2 thumbs up!!

Reviews of ASICS Men's Spivey LD Running Shoe

I bought these spikes to replace my old Adidas adiStar MD 05 spikes. First off, these spikes are incredibly light, especially compared to my old adiStars. The asics website says these weigh 5 ounces a piece, but they feel much lighter on the feet. If you use these spikes in competition, you will definitely get a mental boost from them. Secondly, I bought the green/yellow variant, and they are just as vibrant as the display image. Since I wanted a bright pair of spikes, I was happy to find this to be true. Thirdly, the spikes come with a cross country claw that can be used to turn them into cross country spikes. The claw is a yellow plastic star that fits into the bottom of the shoe, with special golden spikes to be inserted into the plastic claw. However, I would not recommend them to be used in this fashion since I don't think the hard plastic on the bottom of the shoe won't hold up very well under cross country conditions. Racing flats should be racing flats and track spikes should be track spikes, but that's just my opinion. These shoes come with the slightly shorter than usual 3/16" pyramid spike as opposed to the 1/4", so be conscious of this fact when buying them.

These are rated for the 3,200 m through 10,000 m, but these should work well for distances down to the 1,500 m. However, the material around the toe box is quite thin so take this under advisement. Once I run a timed mile in these I'll edit my review as to if I've changed my thoughts.

EDIT (3/4/13):

I finally got around to running a timed mile in these and they felt great. Once you put them on and start running, they feel like they disappear on your foot. While running in these, I PR'ed by 10 seconds even though I haven't really increased the intensity or length of my runs. In my opinion, these spikes are a good choice for down to the 1,500 m. Below that though, you'll want to get a middle distance spike for the tougher construction. Even though I'm pretty in shape right now, the day after the timed mile I could feel it in my ankles and my calves. I think this is mostly due to me changing my stride and converting to be a forefoot striker, but the shoes may also have contributed since they are so light because they don't have a lot of cushioning. I recommend doing some barefoot running on the grass or infield in order to get your legs used to the extra forces it will endure without cushioning from regular running shoes.

A word of advice: Make sure you clip your toe nails when you get to run in these. The toe box material isn't that frail, but I'd err on the side of caution. After all, it wouldn't be fun to buy a new set of spikes and then tear the toe box with your toe nails.

This is an outstanding spike. It snugs up nicely on the foot without feeling tight or cramped in the toe box or mid foot. I tried on every spike in the store before settling on the Asics Spivey LD. On the track, it's the most comfortable spike I've ever worn. With other spikes, there is a very noticeable "spike" feel. That wasn't the case with the Spivey LD. After the first few steps, I forgot that I was wearing spikes and I could concentrate on the workout. Even though it's a long distance spike, I plan to use them for the 800m and 1500m. My old spikes were one of the top-of-the-line Nike models. The Spivey LD fits better and feels like it transfers more power to the track than the Nike. I have several racing flats and a couple of spikes in this weight range, but none have the feeling of power transfer that I get wearing these spikes.

Equally important, after three hard workouts, I have no spike-related injuries. Usually, my feet and ankles get nagging little injuries when I switch over to spikes, but that has not been the case with the Spivey LD.

Another reviewer mentioned that the spikes themselves are slightly shorter -3/16 instead of 1/4 inch. I ran tonight in the rain on a wet track. In my warm up racing flats, I could feel my shoes slipping a lot with every step. In the Spivey LD, I noticed no slipping at all in spite of the fact that puddles were forming on the track. I'm happy with the shorter spikes. The fit is true to size.

I've been running in Mizuno shoes for about 10 years, and the Sayonara is the best yet…in fact, it may be the best "all around" shoe I have ever worn in my 30+ years as a runner. I have been using Wave Inspires for long runs and races over 10 miles, and Wave Elixirs for track work and short races. I've had the Wave Sayonaras for about 10 days, and have not even thought about putting on the Inspire or the Elixir. The toe box has lots of room and my heal feels anchored. Stability seems about the same as the Elixir, and I think this shoe would work fine for a Half or maybe a Marathon. The upper is amazing…I think I could run sockless in this shoe with no problems. These shoes aren't just a little better, they are much, much better.

I'm a recreational runner who logs 700+ miles a year for cross-training and the occasional 10k or half marathon. I have really enjoyed my Mizuno Wave Precision 13s for roads, and New Balance MT-10s for trail running, and was looking for a new set of road trainers/racers with a low drop. These fit the bill perfectly. The Wave Sayoraras weigh 8.1oz with a 10mm drop -a fairly minimal shoe. Their one-piece uppers fit me like a glove. I'd recommend these for mid-sole runners who don't pronate, are looking for a light weight shoe, and are used to shoes with a smaller drop and minimal cushioning.

I have been training and sometimes racing in the Mizuno Precision. That shoe was discontinued and this is in its place. It is a significant improvement in weight and quickness. There is ample cushioning with slightly less heel to toe drop. I have trained in it and also run a 10k race with great results. It is in the neutral performance category and perhaps the best shoe on the market in that niche. No question that this is a step up for Mizuno.

First the standard disclaimer, a shoe that works for one may not work for another. I can only tell you my experience in this shoe. The midfoot fits snug to tight, while the forefoot is very roomy and the heel falls somewhere inbetween. While the length of the shoe is fairly true to size, the fit feels somewhat large. I normally take a size 11 in wave rider 16's (and 11.5 in rider13's) but in these, a size 10.5 is about the right size though it leaves less than the typical thumb width at the end of the shoe for me. The shoe is more straight-lasted than either the precisions or riders. The arch support appear to fit medium to high arches so if you have low arches, these may cause arch aches (the arch "height" is somewhere in between say a green superfeet and black). I land midfoot and supinate and the cushioning is "just enough" to last for hour long runs but can start to feel too firm for longer runs. These are not as soft as the precisions 12/13's and may be just a tad firmer than the Elixir 7 or 8s. It really feels like a mix of the two shoes in one but I'm not quite sure if it takes the best from both shoes or just tried to mesh the two with results somewhere in between. It has a firm heel counter with a very flexible and flat feeling forefoot. Personally, I would like a little more cushioning in the forefoot and less arch support. It's softer than say the Nike Vomero8's but firmer than the Pegasus 29/30.

Saucony Originals Women's Jazz Low Pro Sneaker Review

I don't think the Saucony Jazz are quite squishy enough to be running shoes, but I'm giving them five stars as walkers. I don't have a car, so I do a LOT of walking around town, and all over campus, and these work out great for that.

My feet are a little bit wider than average, and the Sauconys give me plenty of room. There's even enough space for me to add a bit of an arch support my instep is really high, so I do that with most of my shoes, and with the Saucony Jazz (both the Low Pro and the Original), the addition of the support doesn't mess up the fit of the shoe, the way it does with some others. This makes me very happy!

They're comfy right out of the box, they wear well, they come in lots of nifty colors, and they're good to go whether I'm on the sidewalk, the beach, or an easier hiking trail I wouldn't substitute them for serious hikers of course, but they've got wicked good tread. I've got two pair of the Low Pro, and three pair of the Original (slightly thicker sole), and so far I've never been disappointed.

Sorry but I do not agree wholly with the previous reviews. While these shoes are not terrible they are not the best either. They are not very thick which does not provide good support for running outdoors on hard surfaces. They did not absorb shock well either. I developed shin splints while using these shoes. Once I switched to Nike Air Pegasus my shin splints went away. I use these shoes now for jogging indoors. While these shoes are not the best for running they are good for light jogs or the treadmill. Sorry but I would not reccomend these to long distance runners or those who prefer to run outdoors on asphalt.

I am in love with these shoes. I work in a giant warehouse walking on an average of 20 miles per day in a 10 hour shift. In the last six months these are the third pair of shoes that I purchased specifically for this job and all the walking that I do on hard cement floors. The first pair were $100+ Nike Air and were comfortable for about two weeks when the hard floors seemed to just take their toll on them, new inserts didn't even seem to help and I basically felt I had wasted $100. I decided to shop around and not spend so much if good shoes weren't even going to survive all this walking. I purchased some $45 Filas and actually got a couple good months out of them alone and then even extended that with new inserts. I wanted to find something that didn't have the breakdown that these shoes had without spending an arm and a leg. After a short search it came between the GravityDefyer and these Spira's. At $65 I went with these. (some vendors had the exact same shoes for much much more) I have had them almost three months now and feel very little difference than when I first wore them. The insides are intact, a little wear but no material rips or breakage yet like the other shoes had after a much shorter period. They breath very well also. I totally recommend them for anyone who does a lot of walking or has back issues. I have had lower back surgery and all the walking would remind me of that everyday. These shoes have not eliminated that completely but have made it a non issue. I have only found one drawback in these shoes, because of the metal springs in them they do set off the metal detectors where I work so if you work in a secure facility or go to the airport a lot you may need to reconsider these. I do plan to purchase another pair when these do wear out.

Bought a second set of these after having the first for a short while because they fit well and were very comfortable for walking and playing. (Used one outside and one only for treadmill.) But the spring does not last. You'll find yourself adding cushion inserts after a while. After 6 mos, the life of the cushioning is pretty much exhausted and the shoe is no longer very comfortable and the front toe portion of the sole is starting to tear away from the shoes and you're suddenly back on Amazon looking for a replacement.

They fit perfectly. My only complaint is they feel a little heavy when walking around. I have very bad feet and hoped the springs in the show would help with the impact. I didn't notice the difference until I wore my regular shoe. They do make a difference. They were not the miracle shoe I had hoped for as my feet are in still the same amount if pain. I think next time I would like to try the the Spira shoes with three springs in them.

Before I start, let me tell you that I were my shoes daily. I work in a lab and am on my feet alot. Due to the daily wear and a foot issue, I change my shoes every two months. With those comments done, let me tell you about the shoes. They are pretty and relatively inexpensive. However, the shoes aren't comfortable for my feet. After wearing them and stretching them, they still hurt my little toes. They don't support my ankles. I have to tie them very tight to keep the laces from coming out of a DOUBLE knot. The lining is already tearing along the back sides of both shoes. These shoes aren't as good as the Reeboks I bought several years ago and I'm disappointed with them. It is almost time for new shoes. I'm going back to Easy Spirits. They last the two months, support my ankles, and, even during the stretching period don't hurt my toes.

the sneakers are solid and above average in overall quality. good materials and good craftsmanship. however, they have some flaws in terms of comfort. the insole is 1 size smaller than the sneakers themselves so that there is a half inch gap at the tip of the shoe. and, the inner knitting of the tongue seems uncomfortable. i might not have ordered them if i had had a chance to try them on beforehand.

I bought these shoes on clearance, but WOW, I did not expect them to be this terrible. There was hard fabric on the inner tongue that stabbed into the joint of my big toe everytime I took a step. Forget walking a mile in them! The heel, also, would just slip on and off my foot; conversely, the tongue and laces were too tight a channel. I can't even fathom how Reebok could make a shoe so awful! Disillusioned, here: I think I'm just going to go non-name brand, non-pain.

My first pair(s) of the Noosa Tri was the Tri 6,and I must confess I bought them initially for their killer looks but they turned out to be another great ASICS running shoe as well.. Couldn't wait to get my hands on these when I saw them on Amazon.

Now, All my ASICS are size 12 and no matter what model they all fit the same. So these were a bit of a shock when they arrived.

My first impression was that they are a bit more shallow in the forefoot therefore making them much more of a "snug" fit and they don't seem to have the same length in the forefoot as all my other size 12s including my Tri 6 models. ( I think that my big toes would endure a fair bit of grief if I actually decided to do some big mileage in them.) The Tri 6 was made on the same last as the DS Trainer 16 -which was a combination lastbut these appear to have been done on a slip last and this may be part is what's behind my perception of the 8s being noticeably different.

So I would suggest that if you are thinking of getting a pair of these you might want to consider going up a half or full size more than what you would normally buy. Apart from those two points I still think they are a great shoe but I just can't give them my usual 5 stars.

Now Having said all that, I do intend to buy another pair, especially in this colour, but I will step up one size to a 13 which will give me that little bit of extra length and comfort in the forefoot.

These are true to size and have the best cushion. I am not crazy about a lot of the color combos but it's the cushion that sold me. The cushion will wear out depending how much you run & mine wore out after about a year.

They are pretty too! I love the way these fit, and walking/running in them feels great! I busted them out the first time while I was moving! They felt like the fatigue in my feet melted away instantly. It feels like it corrects your step. I even almost wore these out on a Friday night, and went for a "Sporty Spice" lookbut I didn't-only because I'm not comfortable being in public in a sports bra. Seriously though if you buy these shoes you won't be sorry! Most shoes i looked at for running you can bend the soles, or at least see where the shoe will crack on the bottom, these are solid! I tried a pair on at Meijer, and almost purchased them in the store, for $75!!! I looked on Amazon and found them for $54! Just another reason I love Amazon/online shopping! When will I stop being amazed?
