I've had foot surgery for plantar fasciitis! I have these shoes in almost every color! I wear them daily the white ones to work (I'm a nurse). I am on my feet for 12 hour shifts they are very comfortable and you don't have to worry about your shoe laces coming un-tied! They are machine washable also not many shoes can be thrown into the washer! I have them in blue suede and in black suede to wear with jeans and other casual clothing! I hope they never stop making these shoes!

I bought these shoes to wear at the barn because they are called wash and wear and because my foot problems won't let me wear any of the very fashionable Ariat boots. These shoes are definitely more than wash and wear! One week after I got them I bathed my horse and while the outer shoe got wet, my socks stayed dry and the collar around the shoe prevented water from entering from the top. They dried on my feet and the leather still looks great. They are comfortable, but the toe box is not as roomy or tall as the Propet Walkers that I also bought. However, with a little adjustment these shoes are comfortable, useful, economical, and allow me to be active on my feet for several hours without pain.

This is my second pear of Propet walking shoes. They are extremely comfortable and fit great. The mushroom color is really very attractive. I wear a wide shoe (normally a D width) and these are absolutely true in fit (at least for me). They are comfortable and sturdy enough to wear to the gym and I keep them on all day. I have plantar fascitis and need to wear orthotics. The insole of these shoes is removable so that I can wear my orthotics comfortably.

I have not yet tried to clean these shoes yet, but it is suggested by the manufacturer that they should be cleaned with a damp cloth. I have another wash and wear pair in white that I have put in the washing machine and they look like new.

The Addiction 9 is a great shoe for over-pronators. The only reason I rated a 4 instead of a 5 star was the wearing of the soles. I am a heel stricker and have always been tough on the heels. But the Addiction 7 soles never presented a wearing problem for me. The 8 & 9 models evidently have some different sole material. Brooks has not answered my question concerning the issue. Bring back the Addiction 7 soles and slap it on the Addiction 9! I will log about 1800 miles this year and try to change the shoes every 500 miles. My current pair is at 300 miles and the heels are badly worn. Amazon did their usual great job of getting the goods to me before the expected arrival date!

I figured that after having these shoes for a year, it was time to write my review. I personally get tired of reading reviews where the owner has only had them a few weeks, or worse a few days. For me, it is how it holds up over time. Overall these are fantastic shoes. I cannot give them a five for one reason, mine make noise. They made noise ofter only a couple of days. I think it is from the stabilizer bar. It is not a lot of noise, most of the time you don't even notice it. However, it is very noticeable when you walk through a library, which I do often. That is my only issue. These were comfortable straight out of the box, and still are. I know these are running shoes, but I wear them daily. I am also a big guy, 6' and 275lbs. I am very hard on shoes. These have help up very well. I ordered them last August and I currently have them on my feet. I have recently ordered another pair of Brooks shoes to replace these. I am keeping them however to do yard work. They are starting to have holes wear in the mesh around my pinky toes. This wear is great considering that I literally where them every single day. The stabilizer works great. After a year of usage there is almost no difference in the way my foot gets planted as I walk. The mesh is nice too, very cool in the summer. However, it also lets the cold air through if you wear them in colder climates (not a complaint, just saying). I also still have the original laces in them. This is a little thing, but it is good to know that the laces that come with the shoes lasted me over a year with daily use. Despite the wholes rubbing in the mesh, these are too good to throw out, hence them being yard work shoes now. If their other shoes are as good as these, then Brooks has found a loyal customer. Overall, these are very good shoes, and well worth the price.

I bought these for my husband, who swears that $10 no-name athletic shoes from Wal-Mart are just as good as any other. I was hoping to show him that name brand athletic shoes are not only more comfortable but also reasonable priced. I hit it out of the park with these. Good price (about $45) and he says they fit well and are WAY better feeling that his cheap-o shoes. He has worn them to work several times and even at the end of a long day (sometimes 12+ hours) he's still comfortable. And these fit the bill style-wise as well -they are casual enough for weekends but not so casual that he can't wear them to work. I would definitely buy these again.

I have a confession: My feet sweat!!! This causes a big problem because after spin class my shoes are always soaking wet. Before Stuffitts I couldn't leave my shoes in my gym locker because they would make my locker smell horrible (and no one wants to be that guy!). And if I left them in my car while I was at work, I had to drive home with the windows down for fear of passing out. Stuffitts fixed all that! As an Airmen traveling around the Middle East, I wanted to keep my boots dry and comfortable. I am in all types of climates and walking on all kinds of terrain. My feet get sweaty no matter what and I could not always have access to newspaper to shove into my boots. I heard about Stuffitts from a friend of mine who swears by them and thought I would give them a try. All I can say is that these kick butt! These seem well-made, and feature strong stitching and good quality materials. The cedar smell is terrific. I haven't started using them in my shoes yet, and I will update this review as soon as I have used them for several weeks. (That's why I can only rate these at 4 stars for now.)

The customer service of this company is absolutely outstanding. I originally purchased these in XL to use in a new pair of size 13 DC Skate shoes. The length was great, but since the inserts are pretty bulky on stuffing (and my shoes were unworn), they were too large for my shoes. I contacted the company about this and the CEO replied almost immediately and corrected the problem by sending me another pair in the Large size. The large ones fit nicely. This is obviously a company that takes pride in their product and TRULY cares about satisfying customers.

ADVICE: I suspect the XL were too big for my shoes because my shoes are brand new and the padding and leather haven't been broken in. If you have loose-style shoes (like some skate shoes) that you've worn a while and have large feet, then XL is probably for you. But, if you have brand new shoes, or shoes that aren't worn loose/large, then I'd say go with the L size. The Stuffitts company website has a sizing chart that you can use to help make your choice.

I sent them back hassle free and got the medium size. The medium need to be a bit bigger and the large needed to be a bit smaller; however the product works great. I have tried about a dozen shoes to get a true all purpose Crossfit shoe flexible, zero heel raise, firm sole. I have some Vibram (weird fit), Asics weight lifting shoe (OK but too much heel raise), Nike's (too much ankle wiggle from soft sole), Merrell's (good but not enough structure) and Pendlay's (great but just for weight lifting). These are a great combination of supportive structure, flat sole's, easy on (racing laces) and they look good! Plus FOR $30!! Can't beat it!

I bought these because I thought I was ready to transition to barefoot running. I had been running for 2 years and really working on my mid-foot strike with my Newtons and was ready to go minimal with my footwear. But I was not able to make the transition. I even started out slowly like they suggest, but I guess my body likes a bit of cushioning on the feet. But these shoes are really, really comfortable and since I'm a tenderfoot, I now wear these whenever I would like to go barefoot and I love them. I walk in them, walk the dogs in them, grocery shop, and even wore them when we went to the river. They have a nice sole, so my feet feel protected, but otherwise, it's just like being barefoot. Sure they look a bit odd, but are very comfortable and if you are looking for protection for your barefoot experience, whether running or walking, they are a good buy.

I've been using my Bikila's for a month now 4 runs a week. I love them! Yes, there's the initial getting used to, with calf-soreness and some strange looks from passersby, but otherwise, it's helped my form and has been a fun reason to run!

I agree with another poster that at first the material was tight on the top of the foot, but that never actually bothered me when I started running, and now has stretched to the point that there's no tightness (not to say it's stretched out, just that it's formed to me now). I have gotten no blisters or heel chafing, but I would say that sizing is so important. So if you buy online, you still might want to go to the store to make sure you've got the right size. Based on measuring my feet, I was a 39, but after going to the store, I realized I needed a 38, which fit me perfectly.

Best part of my run, bar none: running through the wet grass or feeling a breeze all the way to my toes in the Bikilas!

I walk in these every morning on paved and dirt trails and they are great. I almost always get knee pain while walking in any other shoe (my hips/back are out of alignment). But with these Vibrams I have no pain anywhere and can just keep walking. It feels like it redistributes your weight more evenly throughout the foot, giving a more stable stride. There's a lot of hype about these being great for running, but they are a blessing for walking too. I usually wear a 7-7.5 size shoe, and I wear a 37 in these Bikilas. At first, my big toe felt too tight, but I would say that there is some slight breaking in time (or my feet just got used to it), because now everything feels great.

Seriously, they hold up sturdy for over a year with severe abuse. Very severe. The tread didn't even fade away from all of the running I've been doing. The tread and traction is as good as new. The only thing that cause me to get a new pair is that the leather on the top managed to get a hole in it from something sharp.

I've also had a problem with previous shoes where the sole's would fall off after a while. Well, say goodbye to that problem...

Also, they are very fashionable. They are all purpose shoes, and boy do they do a better job for them then shoes specialized in: climbing, running, fking anything...

I ordered these in my normal size and it took a bit of modification to get the fit I was looking for. Because these shoes are designed primarily for parkour, free running and the like, the fit is quite snug. Also, the laces are a type that is designed to stay tight. The end result is that the shoes pinched at some places and the distribution of clamping force was not equal. I am sure that with time and practice I would have learned to lace and secure these shoes properly, but I bought these because I wanted a high quality shoe designed for abuse I would never give it. I ended up getting superfeet black insoles, which are fantastic and half the thickness of the factory insole (which was very good itself, but they were tight and I needed the room), and regular laces. Now the shoes conform to my feet like sneaky gloves that absolutely refuse to slip even in the worst conditions to date. I have not tried them on snow and ice, but they handle wet tiles like dry concrete. The quality is higher than all but the most expensive shoes that I own. They are light and the profile is fairly low. They are not a minimalist shoe, but they are definitely approaching that end of the spectrum while still being a sneaker. The more I wear them, the better they fit. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a quality active shoe. Be aware of the sizing, however. If you tend to run near the high end of your size, or have unusually shaped feet, you may want to go a half size higher.

These shoes are quite comfortable. After purchasing, I went on a 2 or so hour hike at a local waterfall state park. They were very comfortable and provided great cushion and support. One thing I noticed right off the bat was that these shoes have great grip. You can tell that the special stealth rubber really does a great job of sticking to surfaces to provide excellent traction. These are great quality shoes and you won't be disappointed.

I bought these for my son as an easy-on, easy off all purpose, ventilated shoe for warm weather outdoor wear. He has been wearing a men's size 9 in Merrells, so I bought a half size up thinking they'd be roomy and last through the summer before the next growth spurt. (He's only 11 but very tall and lanky and wearing men's sizes!)

The shoe is attractive, lightweight, and seems well made. But they do run a bit snug, and are not as easy to pull on as I'd hoped. Probably not a problem for someone with a narrower foot. If your feet are wide, you might want to try a different shoe. Overall, these seem to run smaller than some brands. I notice other reviewers said these run large, but that was not our experience.

Update to my review: about a month after we bought these, one of the laces broke. Replacement laces at the local shoe store cost about $7.99. A little pricey for laces, but I could handle that. The problem is, the original laces that come with the shoe were actually glued, or possibly sewn, very tightly inside one of the openings down the center of the top of the shoe. They are REALLY glued in there. I never could get all of it out; I had to use scissors and a shish kebab skewer to jimmy an opening big enough to force the new lace through alongside that stubborn bit of the old lace. Apparently the manufacturers had the idea that either these laces would never need replacing, or that I was going to spend another $50 or so to replace the whole shoe just for a broken lace. That was a real pain.

I bought these for my boyfriend who had slipped and injured himself on his last canoe trip. We had shopped at local stores, and all the water shoes there were either too flimsy or looked just like a pair of regular sneakers. He wanted something light and that would dry quickly, but he also had a good rugged toe, sides, and bottom for underwater rocks while maneuvering shallow water with a canoe.

He wears a 12.5 which is very hard to find in men's shoes, so we are always debating between a size 12 and size 13. This size 12 fit his foot comfortably, and he had no more slipping! He also has trouble with comfort in shoes that you do not wear socks with. He said that these did not rub or cause him any blisters.

I bought a pair of Contends about 9 months ago for everyday wear, not intending to run in them. Good thing too, because they are already wearing out. Pieces of the outsole are coming unglued, particularly corners of the lugs near the back.

I shudder to think how these shoes would have held up, if I regularly went running in them. I only did that once so far, because I had misplaced my usual gear. I have worn my Contends almost daily since I bought them, and it shows. Perhaps it's because, as a student, I tended to walk a lot while classes were in session.

Compare the outsole of this shoe to that of a more expensive model, such as the Asics Kahana 6. There just isn't as much "meat" on the Contend. So I definitely wouldn't buy these if you are a trail runner. If you run on pavement, you might need more cushioning, and would benefit from something with a beefier outsole.

I don't mean to steer anyone away from this shoe, just be sure to manage your expectations. You get what you pay for. These might make an excellent entry-level or starter pair for actual running, due to the low price. The Contend is an adequate walking shoe, even if I'm a little underwhelmed by its (lack of) durability in that role.

Let me first start by saying that I am a loyal Asics customer and I used to ONLY buy Asics sneakers. I currently own a pair of worn, beat up pair of Asics Gel-Strike 2, a pair of equally beat up Gel-Strike 3, Gel-Contend, Gel-Cumulus and a pair of Asics hiking boots. If I were to compare these Gel-Contend's to the rest of them in terms of quality, comfort and durability I would say that they are the worst of the bunch.

I have owned a pair of Asics Gel-Strike 2 for over 4 years now. Both the Gel-Strike 2 and Gel-Contend are budget sneakers and they cost around the same mount when they came out. As a matter of fact I believe these Gel-Contend's are a continuation of the Gel-Strike's. The Gel-Strike 2's were by far the most comfortable sneaker's I've owned in the past 5 years and I will keep wearing my old beat up pair until they fall off my feat.

Unfortunately these Gel-Contend's do not compare one bit to the Gel-Strike 2. They don't even compare to the Gel-Strike 3 (which was a step down from the 2). I've been wearing these Gel-Contends for the past few weeks just for walking to work and back home and my feet ache when I get home. The sole on these sneakers so very thin that I can feel just about every bump or pebble I walk on. These sneakers are not durable at all. I can already notice a good amount of wear of the rubber grips and now I have to go out and buy a pair of insoles. I would not dare to run or work on with them.

I really can't beleive the drop off in quality from the gel-strike 2 to this model. I am so disappointed with these sneakers that I bought another pair of Gel-Stike 2's from fleebay for $55 (which is almost double what I originally bought them for 4 years ago) because I knew these were not going to last long. My only conclusion of Asics diminishing quality is that they just don't want their sneakers to last long so that you keep buying a new pair. Maybe they are resting too much on their laurels and believe that people will keep buying their products because it is "Asics". I have news for you guys, keep this up and I will no longer be customer.

I have worn Asics for over 30 years and they used to have consistently reliable foot lasts, regardless of where the shoes were manufactured. Lately, the shoe size seems to vary based on the country of origin. This pair is at least a 1/2 size smaller than my other shoes and while the foot bed is EE, the fabric surrounding the foot is very snug. The shoes are fine without socks, but I will be wary of ordering any more shoes online.

I came across these; they looked great and the price was exactly what I was willing to spend. Thus, I took a chance and ordered them. Upon arrival they looked better than the picture and once I put them on my feet....instant love. The sneakers were very comfortable but I wasn't convinced fully; the real test would be running in them. Well, I did...now Im ready for the marathon; they are that great.

I barely felt the sidewalk beneath me. These ASICS are the best running shoes I have EVER owned.

Like them so much I brought a second pair and for the same price I paid for the first one...just a different color. But who cares.....streets here I come again!

Fast shipping. Overall cool set of wheels. Puma Suedes are little more narrow than I expected. I thought they would fit the same as clydes or puma basket. So I'm returning.
