When my running style was first observed in the store 4 years ago, they told me I was neutral and sold me Wave Rider 11s (which I absolutely loved). Sadly, they died a few months ago, so back I went to get some more of the same. However, I was told that I now over-pronate, and so I ended up buying the Wave Inspire 7s. Despite looking good on the camera in store, they were uncomfortable during runs and caused pain, so back they went and I was again recommended bulky corrective shoes, this time the Asics Kayano 18. Same story very big and heavy, felt like running on mud, pain in the knees and hips after a run. Thankfully the 3rd time I went back, they sold me the Wave Nexus 6! They're awesome shoes, light and zippy like my old beloved Riders. They are slightly corrective, for mild to moderate over-pronaters, but they don't have a huge ungainly heel on them so I don't even notice. Marathon training is back on track thanks to these gems!

PS Always order a half size up with Mizuno shoes as they do run small. It's best to try them on in a store first if possible.

My stats: I have normal arches, mild over-pronation and run 40-50kms a week on pavement. Weight is 55kg (123lb), height is 168cm (5'6").

As a beginning runner in a Couch-to-5K program, I told myself after three weeks I could treat myself to some real running shoes (I had been running on some old nondescript cross-trainers that were at least 6 years old). I went and got myself fitted, and this shoe was recommended (I'm a moderate overpronator). They really fit like a glove. From the moment I put them on to now, a couple weeks later running about 8 miles a week, I've had no soreness or discomfort. They're light (8.6 oz) and very breathable. And the price is right.

Bottom line: if you're a light to moderate overpronator and you're looking for a good shoe at an easy price point, I highly recommend these.

I've been running for a LONG time. I log about 40-50 miles a week. I had to buy these quickly. I have always had luck with Mizuno's products. Loved the Wave. All the reviews were positive for these nice and neutral shoes. I've had these for 1 month. So far, the bottom treads have worn flat. My feet do not fit like a glove in the toe box. I feel as if my mid foot is just a bit off of the fit. They just are not comfortable to run in. Luckily, I have back up shoes! I'm very disappointed.

Honest reviews on Mizuno Women's Wave Nexus 6 Running Shoe

LOVED the way the shoes looked...however, I had to return them...which was quite easy to do. My refund was recorded in a few days.

I ordered the shoes one size larger than I usually do. They were still too small. I find that common in Muzunos. The toe box is too narrow even for someone with a medium width.

I'll keep trying though, because Mizunos are my shoe of choice.

Needing a new pair of running sneakers I bought theses on my sister's recommendation. She bought them to train for her first half marathon and loved them. As soon as I tried them on I loved them as well! They literally feel like a glove on my foot. They are extremely light and have plenty wiggle room in the front for your toes. the mesh on the shoes also helps the sneaker breath and keeps feet from getting too hot. Live them, would highly recommend!!

The shoes are really attractive, but not great for running. I would have only given them 3 stars if they didn't look so good. I would have sent them back but then I realized they do slip on and off easily so they are perfect for wearing to the gym for yoga or Pilates where you are going to take your shoes off anyway. They are also quite comfortable for brisk walking, but if you are only interested in a running shoethese are probably not for you.

I bought two pairs of these. One pair red and black and one pair yellow and black. I have tried many shoes for Crossfit and these seem to be what works for my 200lb frame. These shoes are super light, I believe 7oz and they give great support. I love minimalist shoes for their light weight but some of the most popular ones for Crossfit don't give me a wide enough heel for support when jumping etc. The Reebok YourFlex had everything I was looking for, heel support, light weight, and super flexible like most minimalist shoes. I have done numerous Crossfit WODs in them and I am very satisfied. At first I was worried that lifting might be an issue but after several heavy WODs I was sold. Even though they provide ample cushioning for running they are very stable when lifting.

The only thing the shoes need is:

A) That little loop sewn on the tongue your laces go through to keep the tongue straight.

B) Higher Quality laces like the ones by "10-Seconds®"

Update: 9/5/2012

Since I have used these for Crossfit the whole time I have only one complaint. Short Sprints are sluggish due to the soft flexible sole. Seems squishy. Great for long runs, but bad for sprinting. Same deal with the Nike Free.

Gonna try the NANO 2.0 next.

Bought these for my son who had VERY wide feet. He is not a sneaker guy, but he needed to have a pair for activities. He really loves them & reaches for them all the time. He's begun to prefer them over his beloved flip flops. That sure says a lot for the shoe.

Honest reviews on Reebok Men's YourFlex Run Running Shoe

These are some great running shoes. Comfortable, light, and the soles aren't too thick. I got the yellow ones so sometimes people bring up how brightly colored my shoes are and ask me why "I put tennis balls on my feet". This leads to new friends and good conversation. 5 out of 5, would buy again.

Great color to add to the collection. Own roughly 15 different pairs of New Balance 574s, currently. Have received many comments on the color from people. Make sure to spray with water proof/stain resistance before wearing to ensure long dirt free life. Would recommend to anyone looking for a colorful sneaker. Order a half size larger than you would normally wear as the shoe seems to run small.

This was my first New Balance shoe ever. I've seen people wear New Balance brands so I decided to try it. This shoe is VERY comfortable, cushioned, and make great for street walking. I am not very active and normally wear sandals or dress shoes so perhaps this is why they are comfortable. I have not worn athletic shoes in years. I am definitely going to buy New Balance in the future. I like the look of this shoe and the look of their other shoes.

Best Deals on New Balance Men's ML574 Lifestyle Sneaker

I must say that a large part of the glowing review I'm about to give is due to the color of my shoes, which, incidentally, is not shown among the dozen or so variants available here. My pair of 574's are mostly black, with light grey "N" logos stitched on, a white strip above the sole, white portions by the top lace eyelets, and a PALE YELLOW rear "kick guard" or whatever you'd like the call the plastic strip on the back. This particular combo looks killer, and I don't see it here.

But I digress... Typically, when one goes to buy a casual sneaker, they have two things in mind: Looks and comfort. Sometimes, comfort even comes AFTER looks if you are really bent on your appearance. Versatility and longevity are OFTEN not primary factors. It's a street sneaker; you aren't looking for high-end sprinting performance to rival Usain Bolt, or the ability to wade through crocodile-infested swamps while silently pursuing a band of ruthless mercenaries.

The New Balance 574 delivers soundly in both leading categories of looks and comfort. For the first 20 minutes of wearing them and strolling around, I was alarmed by the awkward feeling they provided, as with every pair of new shoes (particularly New Balance) that I have bought. This quickly subsided as my feet readily accustomed to the shoes, and now they feel like part of my body. So...comfort, check.

And the LOOKS... When I first stumbled across the 574, I had frankly gotten sick of the typical shoe design--lots of cheap "synthetic uppers" made of whatever synthetic material it is they use, and "bling" in the form of gaudy, glued-on plastic trash that usually peeled off after a few weeks and contributed a frenetic, busy appearance reminiscent of a Jackson Pollock painting. The 574 does away with this nonsense. First off, forget what cliches may exist for suede shoes (especially blue ones), the suede used for the uppers on these is MUCH nicer than the typical "synthetic" [material]. In addition, the shoe is simple (at least mine are, with only neutral tones) and lacks glued-on tidbits, meaning that you won't be leaving a trail of spare parts behind you once the shoes age a bit. The big "N" logos scream "retro" and I think they look pretty cool. I see a lot of folks wearing New Balance shoes, and although all of them are pretty good quality, mine seem unique and a step above the typical "generic" style.

But wait, there's more! So they are comfortable, and look the part. What about those "bonus" features? Well, I haven't gone on a mercenary pursuit lately, but I can say that I jog, cycle, exercise, walk around the kitchen, go to class, go to work, drive, and push cars with these things...no problem. What's more, and this is entirely true, I rode a camel up Mt. Sinai (yes, THE Mt. Sinai in Egypt, and yes, a CAMEL) and then walked all the way back down...in these shoes. And they LITERALLY look "none the worse for the wear." Seriously, they aren't high-traction hiking shoes, so I slipped a bit on the gravel (though proud to say I never FELL) and these shoes didn't have a mark on them afterward.

Moral of the story? If you like suede, retro-ish, comfortable, durable, and generally great shoes that don't require a trip to the loan officer at your local bank, then don't hesitate to buy the New Balance M574 sneakers. They really are that good.

I got these sneakers for my husband after months of searching in stores. New Balance must not make them too much anymore. Anyway, our entire family owned a pair at one point and we must say it is by far the most comfortable, lightweight sneakers we have ever worn. This is my 3rd pair of Nike Lunar line shoes. I have finally found a shoe that fits me perfectly, is very comfortable and is durable. There is a lot of cushion along the bottom of the shoe both in the heel and the toes. I have other pairs of shoes that I cannot wait to take off at the end of the day, but I could sleep in these. I have tried the Nike Free line, but they cannot even compare to these. I highly recommend these.

I've been a runner for over 10 years, I've tried Mizuno,New Balance, Saucony, Nike as running shoes, for some reason it took me a long time to get to the Asics, now I am kicking myself after I tried these out, these are the most comfortable, lightweight trainer shoes, is the right frontier between lightweight and hell of a cushioning.

They do feel different, and this is asics intention the 33 collection is supposed to bring a more natural foot movements and it does, the shoe kinda merges with you feet, it's a nice, fresh symbiotic relationship LOL

No problem with the widht, version 1.0 was narrow, this isn't, this is perfectly adjusted and as mentioned in other reviews, laces now have the right lenght.

This is the perfect trainer for an every day run, no sourness or any sort of pain whatsoever after using them for hours.

This is the one, buy it.

6 month use update:

These were not just a good first impression, after 6 months they continue to be as good as they have always been in cushioning, comfort and lightweight.Highly recommended, I just bought my wife the blur2.0 for ladies, same good experience.

1. Moderate Arch

2. Size 10 , width M

3. Neutral, midfoot strike

4. I use lightweight shoes especially for low distance competitions (1km-10km), it is most comfortable than most lightweighted shoes and shock absorption is good, I use these shoes about 4-5 times a week, each time to run from 5km-7km, rarely 10km (but still comfortable at 10km). I would think it twice before engaging these in a 15km and up race due to its nature of being lightweighted.

Works for casual too, very nice looking with a pair of jeans, and people will comment about it; been there, done that.

I have been looking for a pair of sneakers for a while now that look good, but also fit my feet and are comfortable to run in. Basically, I didn't want to sacrifice style for comfort, or the other way around. These fit the bill perfectly. I originally purchased the Gel Blur33 1.0, and found that they were on the narrower end, and that the shoe laces were too small to even lace. These are a noticeable improvement from the previous version. They are so comfortable, I don't even want to take them off when I go inside the house. They fit so perfectly to your feet, they almost feel like a part of your body. The netting on the upper also sends a nice breeze through the shoe to keep it ventilated and your feet cool. Oh, and on top of it all, these things look absolutely dope. I have had them for about 2 weeks now, and I have never had so many people compliment me on my shoes. Asics hit it out of the park with these. I couldn't imagine a more perfect sneaker.

Best Deals on ASICS Men's GEL-Blur33 2.0 Running Shoe

I've been wearing Asics for the last 5 years. My last 2 pairs I've purchased are the Asics Gel Nimbus 12 and 13s. I absolutely loved the Nimbus, but when I went to buy a replacement the price had skyrocketed to $180. I decided to try the Gel-Blu33 2.0 shoes as they were less than $100 from Amazon. The shoe came quick and the color was dead one. I definitely noticed that these shoes didn't have as much cushion as the Gel Nimbus. I definitely can see why people say that this shoe is good for 5 miles and below. I typically run 5-6 miles during the week on a treadmill and then do a 7-10 mile run on the weekend. I'm not confident that these shoes will provide the support\cushion that I will need on the longer runs.

If you're a short distance runner these shoes are fantastic, if you're more distance oriented then i would skip these and pony up for the Gel Nimbus.

Honest reviews on ASICS Men's GEL-Blur33 2.0 Running Shoe

I have gone through 3 pairs of the first generation Blur33's, so you could say that I was rather concerned that they had changed the shoe after only 1 year. The upper material is different, and designed differently, but I would say it is an improvement, and I do not miss the old design. The tongue is more a part of the shoe than before, which keeps it from slipping around. The shoe is slightly lighter, about a quarter to a half ounce for a size 9.5. My pair weighed in at 10.20 and 10.25 ounces. The sole, thank goodness, feels pretty much the same as the original. I was really concerned when I put the shoes on, the sole felt stiff. The shoes broke in just before my first mile was up, and I breathed a sigh of relief. I really, really, like these shoes.

I've always been partial to ASICS, and have been running for over 25 years. There have been some failures, but by and large, this isn't one of them. It is a nice, comfortable shoe, not "heavy", give plenty of shock protection and padding. A good training shoe, but thus far, I don't think it is ready yet for 13.1 or more. I like it, though, very much as a trainer shoe. Personally, the personalization is nice, but I wish ASICS would offer width, as well as other personalization features.

I wanted something I could use "off road" at the local nature center paths. I have tried a wide variety of shoes over the past year running the gamut from traditional cushioned to full minimal vibram's and Merrell's. The Kinvara 2's have become my favorites and the shoe I compared all others to now. The Gel Racer's compare as well as anythign else I have tried. They have a very simialr feel to the Kinvara's. They are quite as lightweight and have a little greater heel drop differential, but they feel very similar on the foot.

The Gel Racer's are supposed to weigh in at around 8.8 oz in a Men's 9 which is about 2 oz's more than the Kinvara's but still on the lightweight side of things as far as shoes go. The heel to toe drop is approx. 6mm which is less then most traditioanl shoes (10-14mm) but more then a true minimal which is usually (0-2mm). 6mm is a good compromise in my opinion. I wear size 12's and that is what I order here. I found the fit to be spot on and these are very comfortable.

The upper is well made. Seems to be better quality than the Kinvara's. The heel offers gel cushioning which doesn't mean as much to me as I tend to run more on my midfoot and forefoot these days, but even on hard roads the rear of the shoe is very comfortable. The forefoot is not really that well padded, again in line with minimalism. The material is much tougher than that found on the kinvara. There is a rock plate enclosed as well. On actual trails the traction is great and padding fine. On hard road surfaces the padding isn't quite there if you are going on longer runs on a purely paved trail. 5k-8k or so is fine but I don't know if I would go longer on a hard surface. Again though this is a trail shoe and on grass and dirt or a mix of trail/pavement this is a great shoe. I have run an 8k trail race in it in addition to training with it and the shoe performed very well.

Color is nice as well. I went with the purple, black, yellow and it looks great. Overall a great shoe for trail racing.

Been training in these for a few weeks and finally got to wear them in a 10 mile trail run. Awesome shoes. In years past after this race with other trail shoes my feet were sore for days. My feet never felt so good after a race before. These are lightweight and well ventilated. I have had foot issues in the past (Plantar Fasciitis) and was going through a recovery period from another injury to my arch. I wore these in the race and felt no pain during or after the race. They actually seemed to improve my condition. I would highly recommend these.

Honest reviews on ASICS Men's GEL-Fuji Racer Running Shoe

This is my third pair and love them. The sizing advice is correct half size bigger. I was told I was an excessive pronator and had the brooks beast shoes for 10 years, but got into longer distances and trail running and could not stand the weight and build of the beast. I must say when I first set out on these shoes I almost turned around at 2 km due to the muscle pain in my foot. I then switched off old shoes and new and was fine ever since. A great shoe if you want to go light, I bought the purple one because they were cheaper and nobody seems to laugh in my face about thecolour.

Have only had the shoe for a few weeks and put 10 miles on a single track trail run. I ordered together with the XR Missions by Salomon to see which fit better. These won by an edge. I have never owned a pair of Asics. I have always gone with Adidas because that's just want I was used to wearing and I'm not a avid traditional runner. I play in more exciting areas than a treadmill or a boring run on the road. I do not do marathons. I run Tough Mudders, and other adventure type races. I wanted a new pair of running shoes that can handle a trail run, mud run, or a day hike/mt bike session. I'm 6'0, 185 and ordered these in a 10.5. They fit well. Feel athletic and fitted with out being lame minimalist ninja wannabe shoes. Great grip and provide good balance, and flexibility while still maintaining it's form and support around my entire foot, not just the heel. Good purchase and decent price for a pair of sneakers I plan to use hard for the next year.

I wore the shoes for almost a week. Normal everyday walking, never even got a chance to run in them. The internal lining began curling at the instep which was very uncomfortable. I would reach down and unroll it by the end of the week it was roled up about a half inch and hurting too bad to wear. The insert was removable and I suppose I will go purchase some gels. Otherwise the fit was good and received several complements on the really cool colors. Not sure if the rest of the shoe will hold up especially with runningwhich I plan on. They are really light however and breath very well. Since both shoes did the exact same thing, I doubt this was just a fluke. I really hate that I paid this much as usually I get Asics Nimbus or Kyano for the same price and they hold up for 2-3 years before I just buy a new pair simply so they look better.

I just my A86 in the mail two weeks ago. I was impressed right away with how light they are. Talk about your minimalist shoe. I felt like i put on a sock. I've put about 50 miles on my A86 shoes so far. I'm just converting this year to the zero drop shoe. Here in Utah it's all the rage. Because of the zero drop, you have to change your running form strike flat instead of a heavy heal strike. That's taking a bit of getting used to for me. They say they fit true to size, but i found mine to run about a half size small. So far i really like the shoe.

Pro's

1. Super light shoe

2. Excellent fit and plenty of room in the toe box

3. Pretty breathable.

4. Well constructed and flash colors to choose from

5. Trail Runner magazine really liked it and gave it an "Editors Choice Award"

Con's

1. The ankle box is unusually large (From Heal to Laces) I'm still undecided if i like it yet.

I will update my review after a couple more weeks running on it.

I love these..I have had 2 pairs as I wore a hole in the toe box of the 1st ones. I run trails 95% of the time but did a road marathon this past labor day and was very happy with the shoes. Yes my feet were sore but nothing to bad. I finished in 3:30 which was decent and will continue running in them!

Love these shoes. The photos really dont show how cool they look. My son thinks they are comfortable and time will only tell if they are tough enough. My child has a wider foot and he never said that they felt tight.

Honest reviews on Keen Men's A86 TR Trail Running Shoe

At the end/bottom of the laces, there is a design flaw that causes the 'toe cover' to rub against my big toe when I tighten the laces. The toe cover sort of folds in on itself and creates a wedge that rubs on outer part of my big toe, creating discomfort. Within a half hour of any type of activity in these shoes, the discomfort turns into a mild pain. Because I didn't address the issue, I grew a grape size blister on my big toe the first time I ran with these shoes.

The next issue is the traction tits/cleats under the shoe. I've put less than a hundred miles on these shoes and the area where my feet strike the ground are already flattening. Now, granted, I have put just a little more miles on pavement than on trails, so this is partially due to user error. My running path in my neighborhood goes through trails and pavement and it's a little hard to find shoes with good traction for both.

What I do love about these shoes is how breathable they are! I run through puddles, mud, dirt, and back to pavement on a regular basis. Theses shoes are so breathable that I can literally feel water draining out of the shoe sides and wind/air coming into the shoes, drying my feet off.

I run with socks and without socks, depending on the weather and/or if I plan on running through water/mud. Other than the issue with my big toe mentioned above, these shoes handle sock-less running just fine (I use a band-aid and a corn cushion to address my big toe issue). Unlike a certain other popular minimalist "free 3.0" shoe, which digs into the back of my heels and practically require socks on 24/7.

Another thing I love about these shoes are the lace design. With an exception to the toe rubbing part, the design of the laces allow me to tighten the shoe like a glove from the top rather than through each pair of eyelets.

So with all of this being said, I truly hope that Keen doesn't abandon this line of shoes, but rather plan on improving these couple of points. As it is, I will not be repurchasing these shoes once my pair becomes worn out. I have a pair of Nike Free 3.0, as well as a pair Fila Skeletoes, both of which have issues all on their own. I plan on moving onto Merrel, Vibrams, or Innov8 next. However, if Keen provides a revised version of these shoes that mainly address the toe issue, I'll be back on board with Keen.

I plan on running a 5k mud obstacle race here soon (6/1/13) and I intend on using these shoes. I'll update this review with how they handle the race!

**UPDATE 6/18**

I ran my mud race on 6/1 like I mentioned above. The shoes held up great. Even after being fully submersed in water as well as being ankle deep in pure mud, the shoes survived. Everyone I went with, donated their shoes after the event. I brought mine home and threw them in a bucket of water (too tired to clean it that day), then clean them in the washer the next day with a load of laundry. I let them dry in the sun and they were as good as new with the exception of the laces being a bit frayed. I bought a pair of lock laces and threw them on and I am still using the shoes for trail running. I have a couple more mud runs coming up and I plan on using the same pair of shoes yet again. I'm gonna put these shoes through hell, lol.

Unfortunately, due to the design flaw I mentioned above (where the shoe folds in on its self and rubs my big toe) I am still not planning on repurchasing. Well, I actually bought my pair on a different website that as a daily sale that so happen to be these shoes. I got my pair for $30. If I saw the price again, I definitely repurchase, but I don't think they're worth a penny more.

These are my 14yr olds favorite shoes but they held up for less than 4 months and started to pull away from the sole. Time for a new pair. I wouldn't buy them again at full price.

I had two pair of the zx500 and now these are even better. The perforated leather makes them much more comfortable.
