My husband is in the Army, and goes through new running shoes about every 4-5 months. He's tried all different brands and levels of shoe. This time, I strongly encouraged him to get the absolute best running shoe the New Balance store offered, along with the additional super-duper insoles. It was pricier than usual, but after all, you only have one body, so you might as well take care of it, right? Well, this morning, he called me right after taking a PT test (after taking the second half of the summer off of training) to enthusastically thank me for making him get the shoes, and excitedly exclaim that, not only did he shave a minute off his run time, but felt INCREDIBLE. His hips and knees didn't hurt like usual, and the term he used to desribe his new shoes was "phenomenal."

This shoe is by far the best i've ever owned. I walk a lot an run on the tread mill an with my previous shoe i used to get blisters a lot an my feet would be sore, but I have not had that problem with the 1224. I recommend it just for everyday use, walking, running, etc...

This is my second pair of 1224's, after two pairs of 1223's. New Balances just fit me better. The 1224's have a nice blend of stability and cushioning. The only shoe I've found comparable are the Saucony Hurricanes. The kicker for New balance is that they are the last of the major sports shoe companies that make a real effort to have their shoes assembled in the U.S. If I were to suggest any changes, it would perhaps be a little more forefoot cushion. By the way, you will love the laces: they stay tied due to their unique design.

I have flat feet and suffer from pronation. I needed stability shoes for regular everyday use. For last 8 months I have been using New Balance MR1224. I am very impressed with these shoes. These shoes are very comfortable and made from high quality materials.

I purchased these expecting to like them as much as the gray Voltaic 3 I have in the closet. Turns out that Puma switched from a very nice mesh fabric to a cheap-looking and feeling vinyl type material. The shoes aren't nearly as comfortable and will probably have ugly crease marks after a little more use. I haven't worn them much considering my disappointment.

Otherwise, they're a decent shoe. They're fairly comfortable and look stylish at this point, while they're still new.

i was a little skeptical about the build quality of salomon shoes, as the last one i owned jettisoned its entire tread and sole. i must add that it was several years old, so i sure the glue just became brittle. it was well built and durable before its death throe.

so far, this shoe has impressed me and is virtually flawless. i appreciate its light weight, ease of cinching up the laces, and the sole provides good grip and very good support. the mesh fabric breathes very well to the point i can sometimes feel a cool breeze through the shoe; although i suspect it will not provide much protection in wet conditions save for the toe cap. i have fallen arches, and my feet feel quite comfortable without the need to replace the insole. tread design is aggressive and grippy, but seems to wear out quickly.

This is a very comfortable trail shoe for those with hight arches and wear on the outside of their shoes. I also really like the quick lace system which is one of the main reasons I purchased these. it makes it very easy to get on and off. This is my second pair of Salomon's and really like them

I am a woman and bought this shoe in a Mens size because I have wide feet and Mens sneakers are made wider than a womans. Well I hate to say it but this shoe is VERY narrow for a Mans shoe. It is very tight on my feet and will have to be worn several days/weeks to be worn in (which you're not supposed to have to do). I absolutely LOVE the color (royal blue) and have had compliments on them already but I wouldn't wear these to run in because they don't have enough cushioning in them for my liking but they were good for the price I paid for them (less than 1/2 off). If you just want a nice looking sneaker and you don't have wide feet then these are perfect for you :o)

For extended treks with a heavy pack, I'd probably want something a bit stouter, but this is a great boot for what I need it for: camping, hiking, scrabbling around rocky lake shores, and working on our steep and heavily wooded property in North Georgia. I tried lots of different casual hiking boots for everyday as well as work wear over the years. Most of them looked great, and were comfortable at first . . . but they all wore out quickly. I bought K2 when they were making boots, Nike and others. The Timberland boots are awesome. Very waterproof, very comfortable, and last quite a while. I usually wear them out in 2 or 3 seasons of wear. I use them for carpentry, yard work, daily wear in the fall and winter. I like to keep a "dress" pair that I wear for going out. Great boots. In constant rotation in my closet. Excellent value!

I have a pair of Timberland boots model Dusty Trails that I've used for five years. I've put them through a lot of work and abuse, mostly working around my homestead that is mostly steep fields and forest. They no longer look pretty but are still intact with plenty of tread. These have been extremely comfortable and durable boots so I thought I would get another pair. Well, the Dusty Trails is no longer available and after six months watching ebay I saw only two pair show up (but not my size). So I decided to look for an alternative. I checked out several Timberland boots that have good ratings but I didn't want to spend $80+ so I went with the Trail Seeker.

The Trail Seeker has tread that is identical to the Dusty Trails, which is good. The Trail Seeker appears similar to the Dusty Trails but looks to be somewhat lesser quality. The eye hooks are solid vs the flexible eye rings on my older boots and I suspect more likely to break (of course I hope I've judged that wrong).

They are comfortable and haven't even been fully broken in yet. They do feel very much like my old boots and have the same excellent traction. Time will tell if they are as durable as my older boots but my guess is they will take the abuse I dish out for at least a few years.

Best Saucony Women's Progrid Omni 10 Running Shoe Deals

I run 25-30 miles a week and have been wearing Saucony Progrid Omni's for nearly 4 years. I have been through several pairs of the 7, 8, and 9 series and replace them every 400 miles. Typically when I purchase a new pair, I slip them on for my first run and I feel like I'm running on a cloud! After breaking down my shoes for 400 miles, a new pair offers the cushioning and support that I love about this line. I purchased the 10's (I always buy the older model when a new model comes out they're cheaper!) when the price dropped and expected the same feel, or at least something very similar, as the shoes I've been wearing for so long. I was very disappointed. There is virtually no cushioning or arch support in this shoe. They feel a lot lighter than the older models, but I only care about lighter in a racing flat. I need a shoe that is soft AND supportive, and the Omni 10 is neither. I'm returning them today and going back to the Omni 9.

Previously I've used the Saucony Omni 8 and that was a great running shoe. This one is just as comfortable with a little more cushioning around the ankle. It's a very supportive shoe and fits orthodics without any difficulty. Having been told I'd never be able to run due to hip problems, these shoes have proven to be very supportive and comfortable when running. No complaints!!

I have had three pairs of Omnis over the last couple of years. I like the shoe for its support and comfort -it has definitely helped with my stress fractures. With that said, every pair I have owned has suffered from the same problem. The uppers, though very breathable, wear way too easily for the price I pay. My toe starts sticking out of the mesh within two months. For the $110-$120 I pay for these shoes, I really don't want to have to take needle and thread to them to sew them back together.

I will begin by saying I have plantar fasciitis, bunions, and a plantar's wart under the skin on bottom of foot. I have bought and returned 3 pairs of shoes recently but when I received these and tried them on I actually kept them on ALL day. I have never tried on a more comfortable shoe. The box is wide enough and the arch support is great. They are the lightest shoes I have ever worn. These are great for running, walking, and Jazzercise. Honestly, I couldn't wait to write the review because I wanted to spread the word about these great Saucony shoes. It has been difficult finding the right shoe because I am picky but I will stick with these from now on because they are awesome.

I absolutely love these shoes, they are super light weight and the sole is very flexible which i absolutely love! I've ran 52 miles in them so far and they feel just as good as when i took them out of the box. The only complaint that I have is that yes the saucony symbol on the sides of the shoe did fall off after a couple of weeks of running. But thats nothing compared to the awesome feel of these shoes.

I ordered these in an attempt to see how they compared to the Kinvara, hoping to like them more. I still love the Kinvara too much! These work, and I'm doing all my runs in them. I have higher arches and they don't quite fit my foot as well as the Kinvaras do, a little too much wiggle room. The tendons in my feet get a bit sore when I run in these and I have to wonder if its from that.

As with any running shoe, just because it doesn't work for my foot, doesn't mean it won't work for everyone! The fact that I'm still doing 15-mile runs in them says a lot, really. It's a great shoe, but I just prefer Kinvara still. :)

He has the 10/11 size in the santa cruz. They are just a little bit to small. The 12/13 are too big. The sizes are to drastic of a jump. There should be more of a happy medium in the croc sizing. I bought these for my 2 year old. He is able to put them on by himself, and because the velcro is only on one side, it is rare that he gets them on the wrong feet. He can easily tell which is left and which is right. They are adorable and we get lots of compliments on them when he wears them. They have held up with only slight wear for 6 months of use; we will be ordering the next size up!

I like these shoes and they are very comfortable; however, the uppers are starting to crack, because they are plastic. There are a few spots on the uppers that are leather: underneath the emblem, but these are small. Still, $71, which is what I paid, is not too high for these fine shoes.
