The shoes are really comfortable and great for wide feet. However, the spiky pieces on the tread keep coming off. I bought these in November and about 1/3 of the pieces have already fallen off!

Reviews of Pearl iZUMi Men's All-Road Cycling Shoe
Bought these shoes because I was looking at dual-sided pedals for my road bike (Cannondale CAAD8). I live in a busy urban area where clipping in is not always an option or the wisest idea in stop-and-go / constantly fear-for-your-life defensive circumstances. I already have a set of Shimano Ultegra racing pedals and SPD-SL cleats, but these weren't very practical for every day use.
These shoes absolutely met my expectations!
My criteria:
Comfortable: check. Not quite as light or firm as carbon shoes, but please for $71.33 (my purchase price through Amazon, $30 cheaper than any big box retailer had them), try and find a better value for all-purpose biking.
Good fit: check. As mentioned by previous reviewers, these run small for some reason. You definitely want room for your feet to swell during a ride, so do not buy your 'correct' size based on these sizing charts. I normally wear an EU 44 dress shoe / US 10 10.5 athletic shoe depending on the brand. I went with an EU 45 for these shoes and they fit like a dream with no heel lift during rides when velcro is down correctly.
Recessed cleats and treads for walking: check. These are great for walking around after hopping off my bike without the annoying click/clack and slip/slide with my racing shoes/cleats. I hope to never have to hike my bike in these, but they would be more than up to the task.
Easy to clip in, clip out: check. I went with the SPD SH-56 multi-directional cleats on these shoes and everything works as expected. The cleats seemed to come loose after the first few rides, but a few additional tightenings and they seemed fine.
durable: check.
Compatible with SPD SH-56 (multi-directional) and SH-51 (uni-directional) cleats.
And the size may run a slight bit below stated size. Not being used to the EU sizing, I ordered what it stated and they are a tad small. They fit okay but not enough room to double up on socks for the cold morning rides.
The build quality is great though and I will be ordering another pair.
Watch out for non Amazon sellers as they will likely make you pay to return or exchange. I usually make sure items are actually from Amazon or Zappos.

These are great shoes. I use the for spin class so I may not be their best critic but I will say that they do run small and correlating the size from US to European makes matters more confusing. One reviewer suggests that you take your US size and go 1/2 size larger then convert to EU. I did this and they still feel a little tight not unbearable but not the most comfortable either. If I were doing this again I would go a full size larger and then convert to EU and select that either that or go somewhere locally to determine my European size before ordering online. This is the first pair of cycling shoes I have owned. They work very well and definitely improve my performance on the bike. However, they do not keep your feet warm on cold morning rides. Also, make sure the screws are very tight on the cleats. If they come loose, it is extremely difficult to become unattached from the pedal check the tightness of the screws frequently.And the size may run a slight bit below stated size. I just received them and even though I ordered a EU size too big the shoes we still too small. I wear a 12 in normal shoes and had to order a 47! This is a pretty bad manufacturing problem.The build quality is great though and I will be ordering another pair.

This is my 1st pair of cycling shoes. I've been indoor cyclyng for about 9 mos. w/ tennis shoes. These really made a difference in my form and feel. They fit well, and no more foot discomfort. Not great for walking, but great for spinning.

This is a great shoe, but doesn't have much of a life. It's amazingly comfortable, but after only a few times wearing them, the lacing along the top began to unravel. The only way to stop the entire top of the shoe from coming apart, was to tie a knot in the lacing, and hope for the best. This is disappointing, because the shoe is so easy on your feet. They are a great casual shoe, and they're good looking; but be aware that as good as they look when you get them, they won't last long. Don't be taken in by the fact that they are made by DC; it just shows that not all their shoes are manufactured with the same high quality as say, their board shoes. All in all, a good shoe; but not one to plan on having for very long. I'm not sure they're worth the price for the life span you get out of them. Grandchildren from 7 to 16 loved their shoes. I like the leather insdtead of the cloth (especially on the white shoes) just for durability. I work out everyday. My workouts include the treadmill, stairclimber, spin bikes, and weights. I also do triathlons. These shoes accomodate all of that. I am on my third pair of Adidas Supernova Glides. These shoes are comfortable from day one to the day you buy a new pair. They have a little bit higher heal that pushes you forward when you run. The toebox is wide enough so that your toes aren't crunched and I love the extra reinforced big toe (my big toe tends to rip through the mesh, but I have never had that problem with these.) I don't have very high arches and the arch support in these is perfect. I have worn nike shoes before and am in pain because the arches are too high. These are perfect if you have a lower arch. When you go into the shoe store to buy a new pair of running shoes try these on then try on a different pair of running shoes. You will be able to feel the difference. I absolutely love these shoes and I am getting ready to buy my fourth pair.

I've always liked Free Runs and for $70 and $5 shipping I couldn't pass up this deal. In stores and online I would have paid over a $100. Besides price, they are EXTREMELY comfortable. Considering the price, they actually are very cheap looking (and probably also to produce), however they definitely make a big difference, when I ran with 1 shoe with regular and the other with elastic laces. Definitely worth trying for somebody who runs a lot or has problems tightening the laces at the right places.

Bought these for my partner, he had never bought Mizuno before but tried it on my recommendation. He uses them for running and he's very happy with them. They fit very true to size, he has narrow to medium width feet.
They look even better in real life too, really stylish but supportive.

The stars should be 4.5 because my feet got a little wet running through the morning dew on the grassalbeit they did dry fast (I had running socks onsee my review for them)...I would expect a little more water control on a trail shoe.

Great trail running shoe!! I run trails that range from gravel to crushed limestone to dirt to beaten path forest and this shoe performed very well. The grip is right for up and downhill with a good bite. The support and ride works well on uneven surfaces and the foot feels well protected. My typical shoe size is a 10.5 (road running shoe) and the fit calculator on RunnersWorld noted these would fit at a size 11. They were right!! In the Navy, I have to get up at Zero dark hundred sometimes for runs and other "fun" stuff (i.e., PT or exercise).
Dealing with shoe laces in the dark and in a rush can sometimes lead to loose laces or laces coming untied. Not a good idea to call attention to yourself in formation with laces flopping around on the ground, and really bad to fall out during a run to re-tie a shoelace.
I put these in my running shoes and -VOILA! PROBLEM SOLVED! With a quick squeeze of the speedlock and a yank of the laces, the shoes are snug and then I just stuff the ends deep inside my shoe. NO PROBLEMS.
The gray laces are low-key and aren't noticed. No one seems concerned with the little squeeze thing on my laces (it is pretty small and gray too, so it doesn't stand out). They are great. Very happy with them.
If your shoelaces do not need replacement I would suggest buying cordlocks (58 cents at walmart for 2 pair or available inexpensively elsewhere) and installing them. the basic concept is install cordlocks onto laced shoes and tie a not at the end to keep the cordlock from coming off.

Cheap ASICS Men's GEL-Volleycross 4 MT Volley Ball Shoe
I ordered my usual shoe size and it fits perfect... excellent ankle support and comfort... well constructed yet they weigh little. This mid-top especially great for outdoor grass volleyball which I do a lot of. Grass courts will often have wear spots and uneven surfaces that can easily tweak an ankle and then there is the occasional opponent's foot that lands on my side of the court... well, this shoe can help prevent injury. I highly recommend this shoe!
