I didn't get to run in them, because I ordered a half size too small. The difference was that the forefoot area was too tight for my liking. Nevertheless, just from trying them on, the plate was a solid and supportive. The zipper really made the shoe fit snugly. I'm sure if i had gotten some track time they would have been a pair of great performers. I was looking for a lighter sprint spike, but these are a bit on the heavier side at about 7.5 oz. But very solid.

My exceptionally picky son likes the shoes and is willing to wear them. Considering they were the least expensive I could find that looked like they might hold up, I consider it a successful buy.

I purchased these for my Son who runs the 80M Hurdles, 200M and 400M Dash. Although I would generally recommend a middle distance spike for hurdlers, he found these comfortable for practice and meets. More importantly, they are designed for speed and have a few advantages over spikes similarly priced:

1. Significantly lighter weight

2. Shark skin outsole are like tiny needles that provide excellent traction and durability. Other brands using rubber are not half as sharp (less traction), wear out rather quickly and heavier.

3. The upper zip shroud was a plus as he did not have to tuck the shoelaces into his spikes too keep them out of his way.

One thing to note about Brooks is that they do run about a size smaller. If you wear an 8.5 in Nikes or New Balance your probably going to fit into a size 9. I ended up buying two pairs and then returning the smaller one through Amazon Prime without being charged so it worked out fine in my case

Missing spikes, disappointed in quality and workmanship. It is very much like barefoot shoes. Not enough support we were expecting to see.

This shoe is extremely light. For a beginning sprinter I would remove the rear 3 spikes. I would recommend this shoe for any runner
