Let me preface my review with this: I am a professional fitness instructor, lifelong dancer who is veeeerrrrry PICKY and opinionated about her shoes!!! The proper shoes can reduce the damage we do to our ankles, knees, hips and back. (or increase the wear and tear on our joints). I'm a Zigtech lover who was THRILLED to see a Zig with low traction and a PIVOT POINT!!!! (I also have deep knowledge about foot anatomy and shoe construction)

I was extremely excited about finding these shoes on Amazon.com much cheaper than buying directly from Reebok.com. They had my size in pink AND blue, so I bought BOTH!!! I was even happier that they arrived soooo quickly. Then I tried them on and my excitement quickly faded.... Usually my feet are happy when I put on Zigs, these new shoes are immediately stiff and suffocating.

I was really hoping that this shoe would be this perfect mix of my favorite cushy Zigs (I have 6 pairs) BUT NOW with a PIVOT POINT to reduce the wear and tear on my knees and ankles from teaching so many Zumba classes. Nope. This shoe is a great idea, but it fits more like a basic dance sneaker. STIFF. And the wonderful Zig cushioning is diminished. Sooooo sad.

This shoe is better for someone with a narrow foot or low instep or flatter feet. Even re-laced and seriously loosened, the shoe was so tight that I feel my feet throbbing and I lost considerable flexibility. (in a proper fitting shoe, the grommets "should" be roughly parallel. In this shoe my grommets were in a WIDE V-shape). Due to the constraints of the shoe and lack of arch/ball support, I could feel the shoe pulling my feet into a pronating position. (that was really weird!!!)(my knees will ache later!!!). I have very flexible feet (STRONG muscles and ligaments between my metatarsals and cuboid bones), but these shoes actually pulled my feet FLAT!!!! Then, the rigidity of the vamp/lack of forefoot cushioning didn't allow for much rebound or springy-ness like my other Zigs. My feet felt like they were FIGHTING the shoe and my tootsies were relieved to take them off after class.

(On a positive note, the tighter toe box meant that my feet didn't slide around inside the shoe!!! Maybe that will help reduce my toe calluses)

Overall, I'm dissapointed with these shoes. Unfortunately, I will have to keep the turquoise pair. When I was trying them on at the gym, the right shoe heel touched the toe box of the left shoe and left a deep, DARK dirt mark on the WHITE fabric. Why would they put a white fabric on an area that will receive so much scuffing??? I wouldn't mind keeping the pink ones, because my older pink Zigs actually have rips and holes!!! But I don't need a third pair of turquoise Zigs, especially when the fit is uncomfortable.

An important note. The shoe does not breathe like my other Zigs!!!! My feet got noticably HOT while teaching, and this morning (12 hours after class) the shoes were still slightly damp!!!! After teaching, I always open the laces, store my shoes in a well-ventilated area, with Sneaker Balls inside. But this morning, I could still feel moisture in the shoe!!!! I can imagine how soggy these shoes would be after teaching two or more classes per day. Even if I wore the blue ones for morning classes and switched out to the pink pair for evening class, the blue ones would still be damp for class the following morning. Not good!!!! Scary things grow in warm damp shoes!!!

One more note ..... The Pivot Point. The pivot point on this shoe is beneath the ball of the foot toward the arch, where a BALL player pivots when he/she is standing flat. Most dancers (fitness instructors) dance with a slightly elevated heel and pivot more on the toe side on their ball. (just look at the bald spots on a ZIN's shoe!) The pivot placement combined with the lack of flexibility and loss of cushioning made the shoe feel very .... Unresponsive. I'm not sure yet if the pivot point on this shoe makes up for the drag from the tread of other Zigs. (I can always put tape on the other Zigs to make them slicker, but I don't know what to do to make this shoe more comfortable. What a conundrum)

I LOVE my other Zigs because they are light, flexible and the brilliant cushioning actually HELPS the body rebound! The new Zignano Fuse Trianer II just doesn't compare. The Pivot Point is a GREAT idea, but the product needs a bit more tweaking before it is the "PERFECT ZUMBA SHOE". (Hey Reebok, give me a call, I'd LOVE to help design the next version!!!)

These are my first Reeboks and I am ok with them. I hate the shoelaces. The tongue tends to

I was hoping this shoe would help me with my plantar facitis, with its extra custioning. I found the shoe rather narrow and slippery on a wood floor. My neighboor liked them, she though they were pretty. I have since purchase another pair of aerobic shoes for Jazzercise.
