I bought this shoe because it said it was a trail running shoe, and thus, was extra cushioned. It does have great cushioning and is nearly water proof when running on trails. It is a stable shoe, and as a result is heavier than my other running shoes. BUT, I would rather have a heavier shoe that minimized ankle rolls on rough terrain and uneven surfaces. The shoe fits snugly, and wraps up around the foot. Because I have a narrow heal and a medium width forefoot, I love this fit! No slipping, no blisters. Fit like a glove from the first run! If you have a fat foot, not necessarily wide, you probably won't like this shoe. Like I said, it is snug, but not tight. The black color is great for hiding trail dust.
Just to be clear, I also use this shoe on pavement. Again, its extra cushioning and good arch support make it great for those who struggle with plantar fasciatis.
