I've owned Nike, New Balance, Asics, Brooks, running shoes.

This shoe is ultra light and has a lot of cushioning to make you feel very comfortable for running and take the impact, especially for pavement runninghigh impact to protect those knees / joints / lower back.

For the price range these shoes are in though, the Asics outperform all of the competition relating to cushion and comfort if you are buying on a budget.

If I am spending over $100, I would buy New Balance running shoes.

I purchased these shoes because I work for a valet company parking cars. We do tons of running & standing, so I need something comfortable and supportive. I ONLY tried on these shoes at the store because my company demands a black-base colored shoe, so I obviously was drawn to the Blk/Blk/Gray model on the shelf. I went to the store wearing my favorite pair of Brooks running shoes which are made for my low arch & have a "stability" rating. As I only tried on 1 Enduro and took a few steps, I realized that they were MUCH more comfortable & stable then the Brooks I loved(past tense). Although these Enduros are made for a "neutral" gait, the abundance of comfort, IE:Gel insole, supports my foot BETTER then a shoe made for my arch! These shoes fit my whole foot like a glove, and feel like you are walking on memory foam. I have not yet worked a shift w/these shoes on, but I cannot imagine them dissappointing me. If you see these in the store, you MUST try them on!

Either these shoes are not meant for my type of foot/gate or Asics needs to go back to the drawing board on this one. Have been running in Asics for years my favorite is the Gel-Kahana. These were on sale, so I gave them a whirl. Big mistake. I must need more Arch support than these shoes offer as my mid and fore foot get very sore after even a few minutes in these guys. I even tried them with an Arch insert. No joy...my feet can't stand these things. Doesn't feel like there is enough support/cushion in the mid and for-front areas of this shoe.

I only gave it an average score as, hey...it could be that these shoes are just not meant for a guy like me :-/

The Enduro 4 was one of my standbys for the past year -basic shoe with good fit, few gimmicks. This continues the trend, and works well. I'm biased against technical shoes, so this is the way to go for me.
