These shoes were just what I wanted. I typically wear a 9.5 wide or 10 reg. These were 9.5 reg and fit great. If you are a wide, try them (they don't make wide at this point). If you're an in between size, order the shorter.

As for the shoe. Good leather lower, the upper mesh allows it to fit snug but not be uncomfortable and I can wear them with or without socks and they're comfortable (thought I bought them as colder weather shoes to wear with socks). They don't look super sporty, so they're a good casual, minimalist shoe.

I will also so, if you aren't already wearing a shoe like this, they aren't kidding about the break-in time. I typically wear a small drop shoe and I still was sore for a couple of days, but not that big a deal.

During the warmer months I run in Vibram five-fingers, but when the temperature drops below 34 degrees, my feet are frozen. Tried other five-finger shoes for winter running, but having separated toes reduces the warmth from the other toes. This shoe was a great option for winter. Unlike the other Merrell's I tried this one had a roomier toe-box and actually fit my foot. The roomier toe-box works well for the freedom you need for minimalist running. The suede also keeps your toes warmer in chillier weather. There is a little more control in the heel section than I'd like (not as rounded a chine as the five-fingers) so they are not as flexible overall as the five-fingers for the foot-fall. It's more difficult to land on the sides of your heel or make those kinds of adjustments. The stiffer heel area forces you to land flat on the heel which is fine, but I would prefer it if they could allow for more variety in the heel-landing. But, they are very well-made and have lasted well through the first full winter cycle of running. They also work for casual wear minimalist shoe. I would give it four and half stars if I could, just taking off for the steep angle of the heel cup. Otherwise, very good quality and function and fit. I generally wear a size 12, with a wider forefoot. Unlike other Merrell barefoot shoes, these fit!

Those shoes are delightfull to wear, as most product from this brand, Merrell.

They really fit the foot, can be worn bare foot without hurting at all the skin.

They are very light, the sole is thin and flexibel.

In addition, those shoes are nice to see, with a personal preference to darker and less flashy colors.

Overall, a very good buy.

Great shoe, just not quite as flexible in the upper as the sport version. This is to be expected though since it is leather and not mesh. The sole is the same as the road glove and flux sport, so it's very flexible and actually has pretty good trail traction. It's thin though so you may get some bruises and very rocky trails. The trail glove has more rubber on the sole and a foot plate. I prefer the flux sport with the mesh upper, but this would be more durable and better in the colder weather. It feels more like a regular shoe than the sport version. Overall still very lightweight and a great shoe!
