I cannot live without these shoes. The first time I tried them on, they were like heaven strapped to your feet. I know these shoes say that they are pure connect 2 but the bottom is the same as the previeous model. The most changes that have been made are on the upper. The upper is all in one piece and there isn't any opportunities for the tongue to slip under. They have amazing arch support and they are cushiony yet you can feel the trounce. This allows for less stress on your joints, and they help strengthen your feet. I prefer them over the very popular Nike frees. The flexibility is exceptional. The nav band keeps your feet in place without squishing your feet. The toe split doesnt affect anything, but I like that. I initially thought that the toe split would be a hazard, but it doesn't affect the comfort. I LOVE THESE SHOES!

When they changed my favorite running shoes the original PureConnects, I was in a PANIC. Searched everywhere for some of the old ones with no luck, so ordered these. Turns out the new model is just as great, if not better. Actually has a little more arch support (as a flat footed runner, I like this a lot!) but they are still light as a feather. (5.9 ounces) I LOVE brooks running shoes, they are always great right out of the box and require no break in time at all. I have a hard time with running shoes and my toes falling asleep. The new model did not disappoint me on my 8 mile run this morning, so comfortable! LOVE these shoes! ♥ I will run my 4th half marathon in these this Saturday! Yay! I was SO worried! These are just as great as Gen 1! :)

These are my first pair of Brooks. I've run on Asics for as long as I can remember and have always been pleased with them. While getting my daughter fitted for cleats, though, I saw these out of the corner of my eye and decided to try them on even though I had no intention of buying a new pair of running shoes at least for a few more weeks. But the minute I tried them on, I knew I was getting them. They're amazing! There light as a feather and the cushioning is beyond any other running shoe I've ever tried. But, the extraordinary part is the arch support. It's SO supportive, it actually takes some getting used to, but it's exactly what I need. I tend to run on the insides of my feet, ending up with blisters after any run over 6 miles. I ran 7.5 miles after getting these and my feet felt great, no blisters, and no knee/joint/foot pain. They're also really cool looking without being too boring and too flashy. I'm so glad I got them.

I'm still a fan of Asics, but I think Brooks has pulled me over to their side.

Notes: I wear a 7.5 dress flat and got a size 8 in these, as I do all my running shoes for a little extra wiggle room for my toes, and they fit well. I highly recommend going a half size up with these. They're stiff, and if you're not used to running in stuff shoes, your toes are gonna need the extra wiggle room.

Also, they come with both black and neon green laces (to match the soles). So, you know, score.

I like the minimalist approach brooks has going on with the Pure series. More rounded sole allows for good ankle motion. My wife loves these!

When I read the reviews for these shoes before I bought them, I thought some of these people had to be exaggerating. Things like "heaven strapped to your feet" and "absolutely amazing" seemed a little far fetched. But, I'm not kidding, the first time I put them on, I had to keep telling my mom how awesome they were and I felt like I was walking on pillows because of how comfortable they were. I noticed a HUGE difference between them and my last pair, Onitsuka Tigers. Now, the Onitsuka Tigers are supposed to be lightweight and somewhat minimalist, but the Brooks weigh next to nothing and have GREAT arch support and all around fantastic cushioning. Putting these on is really like pulling on a glove.

Just in case you can't tell from the picture, the reason these shoes are so lightweight is that nearly the entire upper portion (everything above the sole) is made of thick mesh, which of course, weighs practically nothing. The brand symbol on top of the shoe is made of reflective material, as are parts of the shoe lace loops and the silver strip on the heel that says pureconnect, which is helpful if you're running at night or early morning. As another reviewer said, these shoes are much more attractive in person. I even grew to love funky crookedness of the shoelace portion.

A few personal reasons why I love these shoes I wear a women's size 12 and have narrow feet, and my big toe is the longest of all my toes. Most shoes have a rounded toe box, which creates discomfort for my big toe when I walk or run in them. THESE babies have a toe box shaped perfectly for my toes, with a pointer part where the big toe is, which gives me all the room I need! Also, I wear a size 12, but these shoes make my feet look so much smaller. I hardly ever write reviews for products I buy, which should tell you something about how awesome these are. The ONLY complaint I have (and it is a tiny one) is that the fabric puckers a little bit on the inside near the upper-middle of the foot. That's it. I believe I found my favorite brand of running shoes, and I will definitely buy another pair. Well worth the price.
