These things are AWESOME!!

I originally had the choice between the indoor and outdoor versions of these shoes. In the end, I thought it'd be best to go with the indoor type first(to see how they'd feel). Honestly, this is some of the most comfortable footwear I've ever worn! Like any other shoe, it takes a little while to break them in(they'll quickly conform to your foot-shape), but they already felt pretty good straight out of the package.

Even though these are not authentic Japanese "tabi"(which are not specifically "ninja shoes" but traditional Japanese split-toe socks), these are a perfect blend of East and West! Actual tabi are made to fasten at the back and aren't exactly elastic, unlike standard socks, that are made to stretch over a person's foot. The split-toe design of these ZEMgears mimic traditional tabi(and have ended up being way more comfortable than I first imagined) but they stretch across your foot like athletic socks. The material these are made from is very durable(yet thin) and the soles(also thin) have good traction, almost like the rubber tread on full-blown sneakers! They're also easy to care for: when you need to wash them, just throw them into your washing machine with dark loads(cold water), then let them air dry.

For anyone looking to try some unique indoor footwear, these are HIGHLY recommended(next, I think I'll try the outdoor version)!!

I purchased these because I prefer to work out barefoot at my MMA gym, but others wear shoes which track in debris and rocks. Tired of getting my feet cut or leaving with them dirty, I purchased these shoes. I wear an 8.5 ladies which is the lowest size recommended for the small. My only complaint is that they seem to have stretched out some over use, so I think they should have noted that sizing runs large, and you should order about a half to a size smaller. Aside from that they have been great. They are better than just wearing socks because of the treads and the fabric's breathable. The split toe looks funny, but it does actually aid with balance.

I wear a size 9 9/12 and the 'Medium' fit well.

I didn't have difficulty putting these on and over all they fit alright but my problem with these is that i felt the stitching around the toe pocket to much.

I am experimenting with barefoot training. Doing research. I ordered the Unisex round toe Zem gear. Was not over joyed with those but I think them being unisex made them not fit correctly. Wide through the toe and heel and they are much thinner than what they seem to show pictured. But the SPLIT TOE fit true to size. They look a bit weird, but, I am open to trying them. I will post an update After wearing them (just got them with the round toe zem gear), Both round toe and split toes are strictly indoor use.
