One other feature that's nice is the velcro strap is that it's built to be re-sized the end of the strap is sturdy, but segmented so you can chop off the extra part of the strap if you want to keep it from getting in the way of the crankset.

Shoes look as pictured, single wide velcro strap provides more than adequate closure and does not slip around on the pedals. I normally wear a US 13, and ordered a 12.5 conversion and do not have any problem with space. In fact, I would be interested in trying on a 12 with no sock. Clips are easy to bolt in.Best Deals on Shimano Men's Triathlon Cycling Shoe SH-TR31
I am new to triathlon. I have been an endurance athlete for many years. I have done several 26.2 marathons, a few ultras, a few adventure races, mud runs, and a ton of MTB.I NEVER owned clipless pedals before. I have never owned a road bike before unless you go back to 9th grade and my ancient 10 speed no name bike.
These are very easy in and out. I can get out of them while still riding on the bike and pedal on top of them up to T1.
They are true to size. Comfortable without socks and well vented.
I am sure I cannot appreciate the attributes of a shoe that costs 3X as much as this stage. In the mean time I am very happy to use these.
I also picked up the Shimano 105 pedals. I would prefer if they were weighted to stay in the upright position to make clipping in easier. But I am a newbie and I am sure I will get better as time goes on. I may try different pedals next season, BUT the shoes are keepers.
