The unique lug design and continuous hard rubber soles with torsion control gives tremendous support, stability, and grip over a variety of surfaces. The only drawback is that running over smooth, wet surfaces is a little scary (I didn't slip a lot, but was kind of scared of slipping on decks and flat stones). However, the advantages in traction over soft and uneven surfaces makes up for that easily.

WOW, what traction this shoe has! I just did a 5K obstacle mud course and I PASSED a bunch of people who were slipping and sliding up a steep muddy hill and I RAN by without even a slip! I will be wearing these in my next 5K obstacle course adventure for sure!!!Best Deals on adidas Men's Vigor TR 2 Trail Running Shoe
I needed a pair of off-road running and sports shoes and wanted to get Adidas because I already had a bunch of Adidas workout clothes. I traditionally had never been able to find a running shoe from any of the "Big 3" (Nike, Adidas, Reebok) sport shoe makers who had great apparel and accessories to go with them. To date, Asics was the only shoe that "sang" on my feet for real running and training. Great shoes but, come on, they just don't have the kind of slick supporting products to look cool in the gym.I also wanted my new Adidas off-road runners to have the classic 3 stripes design because all of my other Adidas stuff did. Still, the Vigor had some great online reviews. So what the heck, I tried the Vigors along with the Thrashers and the Kaneda models. Once I put in my favorite insoles, the Vigors blew me away! They felt feather light, they perfectly supported my whole foot (especially the traditionally problematic instep), and grabbed the dirt and turf like a magnet. They showed no slippage when I reversed direction (like in shuttle runs) and made my feet feel like they were in bubble wrap even on hard packed dirt.
No matter how I switched insoles or lacing tensions there was just no comparison between the other Adidas models I tried and the Vigor. So much for the 3 stripes! In fact, the Vigors put a newly purchased pair of Asics, my traditional favorite, to shame.
Don't worry if they feel a bit snug when you put them on, they stay very comfortable even though they fit like a second skin. I ordered my usual size and found it a bit snug but like I said, it's part of the fit. I recommend ordering your regular size or maybe a 1/2 size larger.
I love my new Vigors and want to run even more just to have an excuse to use them!
Honest reviews on adidas Men's Vigor TR 2 Trail Running Shoe
I waited about 6 months of using these regularly on intense hikes before writing the review.Id say i am very happy with them for the following reasons.
1) they are comfortable even when wet. after you cross a stream or river they dont become squishy or slidy on the inside like many shoes do.
2) they dry very quickly. So after getting them soaked crossing a river, the openess of the shoe allows for easy "wicking away" of the water, and soon you dont feel like your walking in wet shoes.
3) They perform well (dont slide easily) in muddy or mossy conditions.
4) The back heel has an extension on the grip. which works really well when you are descending a muddy hill.
5)They have lasted well over 10 tuff hikes and so far they are standing up strong.
a good pair of hiking shoes.
