Pros
-They look great. I received multiple complements the first day I wore them.
-The low cut is cool. These are lower cut than most low cut which I like.
-The are comfortable (if you don't have wide feet)
Cons
-Not for the wide foot. If you got wide feet don't get these shoes.
-They seem to run a little small. I would suggest getting a half size up from what you normally wear.
***THIS IS THE MAJOR FLAW*** After three days of wearing the shoes I noticed my sock were turning red. Not just a little red but a lot. The insole of this shoe has PUMA printed in red on them. After three days I would say these shoes have not even had normal use yet the ink from the insole is bleeding on to my socks. If you live in a neighborhood where 99% of people request you take off your shoes when entering their house (like I do) this could be a problem. For a name brand like PUMA I would expect more. I am not sure if all the Whirlwind style shoes have red ink on the insoles so if you get these shoes and they have a different color on the insole write a review to let us know if your socks survive.

I purchased the Puma Whirlwinds for a number of reasons. I had never run before and I was very interested in trying the sport and hopefully whipping myself into shape for the last two thirds of my life. I chose this shoe because it had a classic stylish look unlike the other 99% of running shoes. You know, the ones that look like an amusement park was magically condensed and formed into a sneaker. The Puma Whirlwind was also about $80 dollars cheaper than those competitors. I figured that since I may not be into this whole running idea after my first go at it, I better stick to something less than a car payment. And with this shoe, if the running didn't pan out, I knew I could grab a boom-box and a piece of cardboard and become a break-dance champion. Well, here I am a month later still running, and wheezing, my way toward a more healthy me. I believe this shoe has made all the difference. It's lightweight yet feels very stable on my feet. The traction is wonderful on all types of terrain that I have run through... pavement, mud, puddles, and some wooded areas. I would definitely recommend the Puma to anybody starting out with this insane idea of exercise because if it can do the trick for me, it will certainly do it for you. And if it doesn't work out for you, I'll see you on the cardboard!Best Deals on PUMA Men's Whirlwind Classic Sneaker
Aesthetics are very personal, but I really like the look of these shoes (I have the blue and white version). Subdued enough not too stand out too much, while still having some personality.Very comfortable not break in period at all, and feet don't hurt or develop hot spots even after hours of walking or standing.
Only complaint is the durability. The shoe itself seems to be fine, but both rubber soles are almost completely worn through after only 8 months of wear. Much shorter than previous pairs.
