I love this shoe. I do a lot of summer hiking in Colorado, so I wanted a light-weight trail shoe that would last through all my hikes. I ordered a half size bigger than what I normally wear and they are perfect. They are narrow in the heel, which keeps them in place, and they have a lot of space in the toe. (At first that worried me, but after my first hike I realized it was absolutely necessary for that extra space). I think Montrails are my new favorite brand...I will order these again when I need them.

This is my 3rd pair of Montrails, and they have all been awesome!!! This is the first time I've bought the Masochist, and like the other Montrails, they fit perfectly and never hurt my feet or cause blisters. I usually wear an 8 1/2, but buy a size 9 in Montrails and they fit great and support my high arch. Also, I feel like my ankle is supported well. Every pair I've had has little wear until about 500-600 miles of walking, and the support in the shoe is still intact like a new one. I recommend this for anyone wanting a long wearing running shoe that is comfortable. Then when you get a new pair you can still wear your old ones for working around the house.

I am on my 2nd pair of this model. I run on dirt trails only, 3-5 times per week, 5-8 miles. These last me about a year. They are light weight, but offer more cushioning than other similarly light models. Super breathable. I often end up in rain, mud, etc. and they usually dry out in 24 hrs without stuffing with newspaper. Overall my favorite runners in a long time.

Okay, my foot type: wide with narrow heel, high arch, high instep, excessive pronator (I know, weird but true). Before trying these, I tried the Brooks Adrenaline and after about a week, I returned them because they hurt my feet. I'm like the Princess & the Pea when it comes to shoes. I'm a hiker/walker, not a runner. I walk on both dirt roads/trails (with little rocks/scree) and asphalt. These shoes are very supportive, but yet comfortable and breathable. I also have the world's sweatiest feet (which I why I avoid GTX like the plague). These do NOT make my feet sweat. They have a cushy heel and decent arch support, although I still add Heel Seats which add a little extra cushion in heel and arch support. I have extremely high arches, but I pronate excessively. Anyone who tells you this is not possible, I'm living proof. I have had my gait analyzed by Pod. and I have battled PF in the past. I love that these are really wide in the toe box, but nice and snug fitting at the heel with no slipping up and down. I had previously been wearing a 7.5, but I have gone to an 8 in these shoes. I made the mistake of purchasing these at a local running store, but I wanted to make sure they were comfy and they had a 30 day return policy. What I've done in the past is go to a running store that carries them, try them on for fit, then order from Amazon! MUCH cheaper! I will buy another pair.

Arrived in good time. The box was light so I knew the shoes would be. They were comfortable from the moment I put them on. I enjoy daily 3 mile walks on different surfaces, up and down hills. I wanted something with enough tread for slick pavement and also enough cushion and support while being light weight and quick to dry. This shoe provided everything I was looking for. I have a wide foot but found this shoe to be roomy enough at the toe and snug at the heel.
