After reading the reviews, I was really looking forward to getting these. I wear a size 10. They run a bit small. I wore them but was so surprised when I slipped several times on a wet surface. There wasn't any moss or anything else on the surface. Clean but wet. The bottoms look great for a rocky terrain but if you are on a wet smooth surface you WILL slip. I have to return them for both reasons.

I needed hiking shoes for a trip I was taking that week. Couldn't find size 11 anywhere in town, so I ordered these and the Merrell Siren Sport 2. The Moab hiking shoes were the winner by a long shot.

The size 11 fit for both shoes (I wear an 11 regular in tennis shoes also), but the Moabs felt so much more comfortable and sturdy. (not quite as cute though!) I was worried about breaking them in, but wore them for about 3 miles one day and could tell they were perfect already no rubbing or discomfort. I took them on a trip to Costa Rica and they were perfect for the rocky hiking and wet climate. Not too bulky, so they look fine with regular shorts or jeans also versatile for travel.

These shoes are not waterproof in the slightest. The shoes and my socks got saturated walking in a rain storm. I did not even walk thru any puddles. Don't waste your money. You will pay extra for waterproof shoes and you'll end up with sopping wet feet.

Update: Merrell is going to replace them. Hopefully the replacement pair will be waterproof.

FYI: this is my husband's account. Just so you know, I am not a man wearing women's shoes.
