After a copious amount of reading and research I bought these boots for a 5 day solo hike in the Grand Canyon last September. Boots/Shoes are a touchy subject for me....I have a spur or two, an old injury and pretty high arches this makes finding a comfortable boot difficult. These were great! I did change out the insert that came with them for a more cushioned insert due to my high arches.

After 50+ miles up and down the canyon plus a 10 mile climb to the top of Mt Humphrey my feet felt great. Not a single blister....unheard of for me. I was not dying to get these boots off at anytime during my trek!! Highly recommend them.

Enjoy!!

Over all, I like this boot. It's well made, looks good and has a comfortable base. However, it does run a little small. I bought these for hiking but after my first 5 mile excursion I could barely walk. No blisters or anything like that, but the toe bang was awful and actually bruised the ends of my toes. I've never had this problem before so I can only assume this boot runs a little small. When I first tried it on I noticed the fit was 'tight' but that's kind of how they are advertises, as 'molded to your foot'. Of course after 5 miles through mud and rocks I coudln't return or exchange them. Luckily I can still use them; I work in the office of a large produce farm and so long as I'm not doing any rigorous down hill action they will be fine winter boots. But buy a half size or even a full size up from your regular boot size with these.

Used these on a 5 day backpacking trip in Olympic National Forest during May temps cool, weather wet. Good waterproofing encountered mud, rain, snow, and many stream crossings. Felt supportive while carrying a 30lb pack. On Day 4 blisters occurred on both feet (outer 2 toes)...making Day 5 miserable. Wonder if the nested fit was too much, and did not allow for swelling in feet and toes which is bound to happen on any hike more than 3 days in? Still use these for day hikes but grab roomier shoes for the longer ones.
