A little more than 6 months ago, I purchased a pair of Helly Hansen Men's Pace Trail HTXP Trail Running Shoe from Amazon.com after first trying them on, of all places, at Disney's Epcot Norway pavilion where these shoes are sold in the gift shop. These are, without a doubt, the best shoes I've ever owned in my life; that is, not just the best running, or athletic, or all around, or everyday shoes, but the very best shoes of any kind that I've ever owned. But be careful about size. I wear size 8.5 in New Balance and Nike, but in these Helly Hansen shoes, my size is 7.5. My son wears size 9.5, but in Helly Hansen he wears size 9. I was concerned that they would be too warm in the summer months because they are waterproof, but they have been very comfortable throughout this summer. At first, they are very stiff, but after about a week, they become comfortable and now, after six months, they are like comfortably tight fitting moccasins. When they become dirty, I use a little water and a brush and they look new again. In my opinion, these are great shoes.

The tread on these shoes gives me the ability to walk on wet hills with cofidence the shoe will hold firm. This shoe is water proof and it is comfortable enough to wear all day as a walking or hiking shoe. The tread is a hard rubber so it should wear much better than some of the gummy rubber trail shoes, it is too soon to say how much wear the HH shoe will give though. This shoe runs slightly long but not enough to give me a problem with it. I wear this shoe all day working outdoors. The shoe is light weight, supportive to my feet, and well designed. At the end of the day in these shoes my feet are not tired.
