Cheap Pearl iZUMi Men's isoShift Running Shoe

I am a big Pearl Iz shoe fan and have bought many of their models. I like these a lot and they look great. My only complaint is they feel just a touch loose. For sure I would buy these again.

I've been loving my syncro infinitys for the past couple of years, but they're starting to wear out, so I decided to order the isoShifts, as they appeared to be the closest current match. My syncros are 10's, and, based on dowjr1's review, I figured I would be safe re-ordering the same size. When the shoes arrived and I tried them on, though, I found that they were extremely snug: they felt at least a full size too small, maybe even more. I'm sending them back but will not be reordering another pair because when sizing is that far off I get scared--was it just one, defective pair, or has Pearl iZUMi really changed its lasts? I wouldn't know whether to try another pair of 10's, or to try to compensate by ordering 11.5s. It's a shame! I really loved this brand.

Update: I subsequently spoke with a representative at Pearl iZUMi, who confirmed that the company has in fact changed the fit of its shoes. Even though the "bead"(?) is the same length, the toe box has been narrowed, so that shoes feel smaller. He said that not everyone needs to order a bigger size, though: he, himself, was wearing the same size as before, but the guy working next to him had had to go up a half-size. The last thing I need is a narrower toe box, so I guess I'm done with the brand. :(
