As a thrower at the Master level, I was looking for a rotational thrower shoe that would not only fit with comfort, but would also allow for effortless rotation for the shot, discus and hammer.
Since I need a wide shoe (4E) I had to get a larger size than I normally wear (1/2 to a full size larger) in order for the width to work out. It still felt a little tight, but I could have made that work with thinner socks if only the sole had worked for me. It didn't. The sole was way too grippy for my liking. They resulted in a jerky rotation, instead of a smooth one. I quickly returned them and was pleased with the service. They would be good for someone gliding in the shot I think.
I then tried the Nike Zoom Rotational 5 with a smooth Pebax sole. They are perfect for me -very smooth rotation. I needed a shoe 2 sizes larger than I normally wear though to fit my width. I love these Nikes!

So far shoes are amazing. Haven't worn them much yet but the fit is great and they are so light weight

During my sophomore year, I was never a big believer on the "throwing shoe" hype. I had always used regular tennis shoes and done just fine. By my junior year I finally succumbed and invested in this pair of throwing shoes. After the second day of use my throws had already increased drastically. They have great traction for shot put but at the same time are very quick in the discus ring. They do well in wet conditions also. It is now half way through my senior year and they are holding up great. Wouldn't recommend any other shoe but this one.

Me and my athletes now have 6 pairs of these, and they are the best we have ever used for throwing shot and disc.
