I've been running for 35 years, almost all with nike. I tried others in the beginning but always went back to nike for a comfortable but rugged shoe. For some reason sports authority has mostly dropped nike. I don't like the prices of the others. So, I turned to the internet and for the first time ordered shoes without being able to try them on first. These shoes were about $20 cheaper than all the other comparable shoes. I was very disappointed when they came in. THey fit well but were uncomfortable, too stiff, inflexible. Worst, the foot liner was cheap with no cushion. It felt almost like running on a hard surface with no shoes. I went to sports authority and paid $20 for liners that I got in the past in nike shoes. That resolved the cushion problem but they are still stiff and inflexible. The worst nike shoe I have ever experienced and I've been through a lot of them. Since 1976 I have run somewhere in the neighborhood of 10,000 miles so I know shoes. These are sub par for nike.I love it! It fits well and has a classic deign to it. I am attracted the first time i saw it.

I'm new to minimalist running and I love these shoes. This pair replaces their 360 and is much more suited for outdoors running (the 360 is NOT). I use it on dirt and pavement and it's great for that. Sole thickness appears to be a big discussion for minimalist runners and is probably personal preference. These soles feel a little thicker than the 360, but it's not a difference I can feel when running. Highly recommended. Tip: Search for "tabi socks" on Amazon for split-toe socks to match.
They are a little bit warmer then the 360's but not uncomfortably so, the split toe is unnoticeable when you put them on, rounded/split are pretty much the same. Overall they are great! I have to ease into them slowly though so I don't hurt my feet, I may post back an updated review in a few months or so.
I was really excited about the prospect of the Terras for "rugged ground" as all the roads around here are gravel. I ordered a pair from Amazon and again one of the supporting bands was not attached for about 2 inches. I called and emailed to report this as they need replacing. I ran in them this morning as I had no response to the issue. I can say categorically as someone who used to run barefoot 35 years ago that they are not up to gravel roads. half inch pebbles protrude through the sole and bruise the ball and instep. I can see these are fine for grass, sand rock and many other surfaces but not gravel roads. I can recommend them otherwise as long as they fix the the quality.
The soles are probably the same thickness for size 12 which I take and the small sizes. Likewise the wearer will not feel the pebbles through the soles if they are only 110lbs as opposed to 190lbs as I am. A thicker sole on the larger sizes would be good.

I'm not a runner or an athlete, I use these for everyday shoes. I'd rather be barefoot all the time, but that's not practical, so these are the next best thing. They are an improvement over the original ZEM's in several ways. I can walk on wet pavement without getting my feet wet, and the shoes will last much longer due to the new sole design. Traction is greatly improved as well. The only downsides are reduced sensitivity through the soles (although you might consider that a benefit), it's more like wearing shoes. They are also more structured than the old design, I call the old ones my foot mittens. These are definitely shoes.Best Deals on ZEMgear Men's Terra Split Toe Shoes
So far these shoes are doing quite well, I haven't attempted to take them trail running yet but I have run on grass and some pavement and done some basic crossfit style workouts and they are doing just fine as far as wear and tear. They are a little bit warmer then the 360's but not uncomfortably so, the split toe is unnoticeable when you put them on, rounded/split are pretty much the same. Overall they are great! I have to ease into them slowly though so I don't hurt my feet, I may post back an updated review in a few months or so.

great shoes durable and comfortable. these are like walking bare foot they improve balance and make good shoes for marshal art. the have excellent traction. the only draw back to them I have found is that they are a little lox so you may have to roll up your pant leg to keep the form getting under your heel as you walkFind helpful customer reviews and review ratings for ZEMgear Men's Terra Split Toe Shoes
I bought a pair of Ninjas originally for Karate training in the park and then noticed that the bands on the left foot were coming away from under the sole. A replacement pair were sent but took 3 weeks to get here.I was really excited about the prospect of the Terras for "rugged ground" as all the roads around here are gravel. All feet are different. I have a high arch, and find the Vasque running shoes to be the best fit. I am on my second pair. The shoes are on a dusty trail almost every day, and have proven to be tough and long lasting.
It's been five days in the field and they're doing really well. Very happy with the stiff sole, there's little to no flex while pedaling (and we're talking 15-20 miles a day of biking). They're super comfortable with great arch support and they grip super well. What's been a surprise is how comfortable they are when running. They're on par with my Asics Gel Nimbus shoes (now I haven't done a ton of distance, maybe a mile or so, but they were the least of my worries).
I will update as time goes on, but they're a 4 star out of the gate.
Added: Changed my rating to 3 stars. After 6 months of use, they're destroyed. The sole of the left completely tore off, the right has a hole in the sole, the toes are kicked out of both and they are now garbage. Being said, up until their last day of use, they were very comfortable, light and agile. Also, for the amount of trail running I did in them (and it was a lot) only turned my ankle once, which I credit to good grip on the shoes.
My experience is at the high end of what these shoes would be put through, and they held up. 6 months of biking, trail running, rock climbing, street running, fence climbing and jumping from roof to roof, 5 days a week, 10 hours a day.
I opted for what I hope are a more durable pair of the Vasques to replace these, with a more aggressive tread and all rubber toe. All in all, a pretty good shoe.

As advertised good trail running shoe. Went on a 7.5 mile hike on gravel/ dirt trail right after I took the shoes out of the box. Ran a couple of the miles. Upside: Light weight, comfortable, vent well on a warm day, good lateral support, and no rubs. Downside: Sole is not thick/ stiff enough for hiking over a seriously rocky trail.Honest reviews on Vasque Men's Mindbender Trail Running Shoe

I had (still own) medical orthotics. They never felt right and didn't solve my issue with not enough arch support. I use these in sport shoes and mocs. They are probably too wide for dress shoes, but I don't wear those. I was using SuperFeet off-the-shelf green for a few years and they worked well, but they had to be trimmed to fit--not a big deal. When I needed another pair, I was told that they had been acquired by Sof Sole and so I bought this pair. This size fits my 8 1/2 shoes great. A full sole insert works better for me than a half sole (the medical orthotics) and these were even better than the SuperFeet. I get shin splints without an insert, so I can tell very quickly if they are working or not--these work. I tried on the next support level up and that was too much for me.Best Deals on Sof Fit Series Neutral Sole
Super arch support. We have tried many different types and shopped our arches off. These are by far the best feeling. Worth the money, especially in shoes that have little or no support.Honest reviews on Sof Fit Series Neutral Sole
I too was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, and found myself in need of a insole. I have used super feet in the past, but I wasn't in love, the arch is in the wrong spot for me. Anyway, I ran across these and bingo! These really help my feet. My foot pain is non existent when I wear them. And, between stretching and losing some weight, my feet feel much better first thing in the morning. I find that these do have to be replaced in about 5-6 months... but I really like them and can have several pairs for different shoes. Instead of one pair of orthopedics for $200. So, for now, I will continue to use these Sofsole Insoles. I would recommend that you check them out at a local store to see which one you might need. I got mine at Shoes on a Shoestring.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Sof Fit Series Neutral Sole
I purchased these a year ago looking for relief from plantar fasciitis. My heal pain was gone within 1 week and has never bothered me again. I use these in my hiking boots and gym shoes and my feet never hurt like they used to.Cheap RxSorbo Sorbothane Classic Insole

Back in 1982, when I was obviously a much younger man, I played a lot of competitive tennis. Back then, after a season of playing 3-set matches almost every day, my knees began to hurt especially on landing after each serve. A friend suggested I put a pair of these sorbothane insoles into my sneakers and the pain magically disappeared. It didn't take days or weeks to notice the results they were apparent the very next time I was on the court.
Now, 30 years later, I'm playing a lot of tennis again and needless to say this aging body of mine has more aches and pains. I could compensate by easing up on my game, but where's the fun in that? I started looking around for the same "plain vanilla" insoles I had used so successfully in the past but all the newfangled models seemed frighteningly over-engineered with different kinds of arch and heel supports and multiple zones. It all seemed too complex.
Recently I saw a listing for these basic, nothing-fancy Isolate It! Sorbothane Classic Insoles and bought a pair. I used them today for the first time and after 2 fierce hours on the court I can tell you that I have almost no pain and remarkably little fatigue. Since I play 3 or 4 times a week I'm comparing apples to apples I know the level of pain and fatigue I usually experience. These things just work.
I remember when I first tried them 30 years ago I'd read that they coated submarines with sorbothane because it was so shock absorbing it made them stealthily invisible to sonar. Whether or not that's true, they seemed to have made my feet and legs nearly invisible to pain. It's like stealth technology for tender feet and knees.
I had a pair of the classic sorbothane insoles, which I didn't use because the heel was simply too thick (raising my heel too high for the boot to grip). BUT -I cut them in half and mated them to a pair of Arch Cradles by Pedifix (Amazon sells them; make sure to get the right size) Pedifix Arch Cradles. The PediFix arch cradles are the best heel-cup/arch/metatarsal support insoles I have ever found. They taper forward to a thin edge designed not to be felt by your foot. However, they do nothing to absorb shock or cushion the forefoot. Which is where my fix comes in.
Sorbothane, being a dense elastic plastic with superb shock absortion and excellent heat resistance, grinds down without melting. I was able to cut my old sorbothane insoles in half and taper them with my belt sander to match the taper of the PediFix insoles. I taped them together and found that I had created the perfect insole...almost. Because there is room in my boots to do so, I also added a pair of standard Spenco FLAT neoprene insoles on top for extra cushioning. I used them on my last climb of the season (Longs Peak, a 14 mile hike with more than 5K' elevation gain and loss) and my feet, while tired, did not hurt at the end. The combination was unbeatable. The Spenco insoles are good for one season, but are relatively cheap to replace.
Now, this may seem like a lot of work. But, for me, a guy who's been hiking for 50 years and does it a LOT, it was well worth the effort. How my feet feel at the end of the day is priceless. Now if someone would only make such a product...
ALSO note: Sorbothane is available in sheet form Isolate It!: Sorbothane Vibration Damping Sheet Stock 50 Duro (1/8 x 12 x12in) which is cheaper than the insoles. 1/8" is the thickness of the insole's forefoot.
A word on insoles that come standard in shoes: they exist for in-store comfort, and do you virtually no good in normal use. I never buy a show without a removable insole I can replace with something that works.
A word on flat insoles: many, such as Superfeet (way overpriced IMHO), have excellent heel cups, but no metatarsal support (a "bump" that the fleshy part of your foot rides on that's just behind the metatarsal -ball of foot -bones). The Pedifix insoles may feel a little funny at first, but wear them for 5 minutes and that feeling disappears.

After I had the cartilege removed from both knees it had been painful to walk on hard surfaces like concrete and tile and sometimes even hardwood floors. I put these in my walking shoes and now there's never any pain from walking or running. I've seen professional orthotists cut custom-shaped insoles from a big sheet of Sorbothane and charge $80 for them. The Sorbothane seems to do the shcok absorbing that the cartileges used to do. These are heavier than other inserts but they wear like iron. I've had mine almost 20 years, and they don't pick up odors or smell at all. If you don't like the extra weight for running in a competition or playing sports, get a pair of the other Sorbothane inserts that just have bands of (black) Sorbothane in the heal and the ball of the foot area for that use.Best Deals on RxSorbo Sorbothane Classic Insole
I have used these insoles for many years and they are great for running, walking, and standing on your feet all day. I am 6'3" and 250 LBS. These insoles have given my knees new life. I play tennis on them and run 10-15 miles a week on them. At work, I walk around a cement floor all day. My knees couldn't be happier.Honest reviews on RxSorbo Sorbothane Classic Insole
I'm an avid hiker who climbed 11 14ers and countless other ridges in 2012. My problem had always been my bony feet with high arches -which limited my hike length (I called mine "10-mile feet"). I've cobbled my own insoles together for years, but hadn't found the right solution until recently.I had a pair of the classic sorbothane insoles, which I didn't use because the heel was simply too thick (raising my heel too high for the boot to grip). I use 10 US size, so I requested them. To my surprise, this shoes were 1/2 number bigger than expected. The sole of the shoe comes with a kind of paper cover that when rains and you get indoor, you go mopping all the house. Shoes are nice, and of good material but just the size is bigger than the standards, and the sole paper cover (which you cannot remove unless you use) are the points to consider.
-They look good
-They are comfortable
-I enjoy the leather soles
Cons:
-Chinese manufactured
-Don't look quite like the picture

I love shopping shoes on Amazon
You can find the best deals and also some type of Converse that are not in the shops anymore.
These were my main reasons to shop the Camouflage shoes at Amazon. I do appreciated also the help that the website provides in picking up the right size. This is not easy with Converse, because they are a bit different on respect to your usual size. But the size chart on the website was perfectI want to buy shoes that fit and look good these look good and say mens shoe but I wear 11size I need something in this style that fits.

I actually bought these shoes for my daughter because her previous GEL shoes hurt her feet. She put these on right out of the box and has not had a single complaint (and she complains about EVERYTHING) about them and she wears them EVERY DAY!
I can't think of a better endorsement at least as a walking shoe. She doesn't run because of a weight problem but she walks all of the time and she really gives these shoes a workout.
I'm hard on shoes and they seem to be wearing pretty well
Overall a very good price for a training shoes.. If you're more serious and you want to go up 26 or more miles, you need to go with mizuno, saucony or puma..But if you're willing to replace every 200/300 miles max, it's a good option...

I have always been an ASICS fan, however this particular model seems to wear down fast. I purchased these just over a month ago. I walk 1 to 3 miles every day, and the tread is almost worn already. I opted to purchase the Brooks Ghost 5 shoe since the treads are reported to not wear easily. For daily use though, these are comfortable and a true, good fit.Best Deals on ASICS Men's GEL-Galaxy 5 Running Shoe

I ran 4 miles, just to do review. These will go in my closet until my Cumulus 12 pair wears out. I wish I could've found my size in that same sneaker, but everywhere seemed to be out of my size. This shoe seemed alike in fit and when I was walking. When I ran, it seemed alittle tighter in the heel, but not too big of a deal. I also bought the Gel Frantic 6 with this Galaxy 5, I liked that one more. I have a neutral fit, size 11. Overall a good shoe for the price, around $40.Discount New Balance Mens MX407WB Xwide Running Shoes

i tried this shoe for the description, price, and looks.

my feet hurt the entire walk of 40 minutes.

Have been wearing these for a few days, and I am noticing some tightening(good tightening) of the muscles in my legs. No pain,or muscle fatigue;just a feeling of strength.I have a couple of muscle disorders and was kind of leery to try toning shoes, but so far they have been just great!!
I ordered these in a wide width, and they fit beautifully. Very comfortable on my old lady's feet.I do not do much shopping because my legs and thighs usually get worn-out after about 15 minutes, but my nearly an hour shopping in one store felt good for a change.
I generally shy away from anything even remotely neutral, but these taupe-colored shoes are very nice looking and I can wear them happily with my jeans and tee-shirts.
So far I like them very much.I am going to get some bright pink shoelaces to match the small pink strip in the toe,and will no doubt look exceptionally cool!!
And they arrived quickly in good,not-too-much-extra packaging. All recyclable materials.
Update: Still loving these shoes. My muscle problems still exist, but these shoes have not made them any worse, and I find I can walk longer now.
As for the toning part-yes I am feeling the toning happening in my thighs, hamstrings and calves. It is relatively comfortable shoe.
That being said, if you have tensor fasciitis, not sure if this is a good shoe. Although while wearing it, it feels comfortable, I am feeling a little flare up with heels and feet. I will continue wearing and decide if this will resolve after the learning curve.
Also another questionable use is if you have knee problems. I have mild arthritis in my knees also, and it seems to flare that up. Although the past couple of times wearing haven't been as bad.
I am wearing them only 2 to 3 days a week and am always taking another pair of shoes with me just in case.
If just looking for a work shoe for toning-this is a great shoe.
If you have health issues with feet and knees, check with your doctor if he/she thinks it would be okay for you.
It's a personal choice, of course, but Rock and Tones are the best shoes for my feet. I am over fifty and most shoes make my feet hurt with their lack of support and cushion. These toning shoes have a thick sole that keeps the arch up/supported. They give me a little bounce to my step! The only downside is getting used to the characteristic rocking -the feet aren't FLAT on the ground. This can be a bit disconcerting at first -yet, I adjusted quickly. They are great for walking in a straight ahead manner, housework, walking around campus, and bad for tennis and other sports. I have four pair (one tan/brown and three white) because they make my feet happy -and when my feet are happy, I'm happy.

I think they do work. I especially like this version from New Balance, since it is in neutral tones and just kind of blends in with whatever outfit I'm wearing. And they don't scream "lazy girl shoes". Plus I trust New Balance for fit, support, and resistance to wear.Best Deals on New Balance Women's WW1645 Toning Shoe
I got this shoe at an awesome price. Have been looking for a toner shoe, but never found one in my size that I could use for work. Skechers don't make my size in women's, and men's are too wide.As for the toning part-yes I am feeling the toning happening in my thighs, hamstrings and calves.

Love these shoes for "street walking" on cement or blacktop. Great support and comfort, especially in the wide sizing. Will not wear them on trails or uneven surfaces.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for New Balance Women's WW1645 Toning Shoe
One problem with this tan-brown version (part mesh, part leather top) is that the more intricate pattern seems to make the shoe run a little tighter than the simpler style. Wish I would have gotten a half size larger or a wider width --just a note of caution if your foot is a tad wider or if your instep is a bit high. Go with the larger then. I was looking for a light pair of training shoes that were secure enough for resistance training exercises, but flexible enough for agility movements. I started with the Nike Free Trainer 7.0, but found that the shoe is so bulky and stiff that it hindered quick movements. The Nike Free Trainer 5.0 was better, and I almost purchased them, but after trying the 3.0 I realized it was the best choice.
The shoes are almost as light and flexible as the Nike Free Running series but still secures the ankles and gives support for training exercises. The design of the shoes is a huge plus too, not only are they functional but they look good too.
I'd recommend this shoe to anyone looking for light, flexible, and supportive training shoes.

I can't believe what has happened. I've had(3)back surgeries including a dorsal stimulator inside the vertebra on top of the spinal cord to block the pain signals to the brain. I've been wearing this Lynco product for (2) days now. 3-4 hours the first day and 6-8 hours the second; Pain diminished 80-90% WEEEEEHAAAAA. I bought them at Shoe Solutions, Kennesaw, GA. It's a professional store, recommended by doctors, except my doctor!!! If your feet, legs, back, hips hurt, you should try these recommended by a professional. For me, she watched me walk, or I should say stumble along and knew exactly what product I needed. Mine were for severe pronation and fallen arches, There are to many specialty items for you to make a selection yourself. Most of you won't live in Kennasaw so look in the yellow Pages under Shoes-Orthopedic or online at orthodics. There are many brands that make products, but this Lynco is A1, Top Drawer, 1st Class, Double distilled, Triple A quality, that works for me.
After you get a pro to fit you, you can come back to Amazon and save a few bucks. Good Luck I hope this helps you.
The bottom line is that if you pronate, have interior knee pain, or feel strain in the arches of your feet, these are worth trying.
They used to cost about $80, so the cost has come down and I just ordered 3 pair. I wear one in my combat boots (they're a lifesaves while deployed#, one in my running shoes, and one moves between casual shoes. The lining #the blue cover material) lasts 9-12 months, even with heavy wear (I wear size 14 and weigh about 210 pounds). Just try them... you'll wear them forever.

These exact models were prescribed to my by Dr. Scott Stryker from Gundersen Lutheran Medical Clinic in LaCrosse, WI back in 2001. I had a major pronation problem as a result of time in the Army (carrying loads, running, ruckmarches, etc), and the misalignment caused IT Band inflamation in my right knee. Within a couple weeks of wearing these, a knee support, and resoling my boots (for cushioning), the inflammation had completely gone away and I passed my 2-mile run with a minute to spare... after not being able to run for about 6 months! Since then, I've tried replacing them with "heat in the oven-customized" crappy insoles. They just don't cut it. Lynco quality is simply THE standard... they just WORK.The bottom line is that if you pronate, have interior knee pain, or feel strain in the arches of your feet, these are worth trying.
