This shoe runs tight and does not have enough wiggle room for toes. I have a narrow foot and thought it was tight. You may want to order a size up. Additionally, I'm not sure they offer the support you would need for a good long hike. They look a tad clown like... but then again I tend to be attracted to clown clothes. They are very colorful which is fun.

Very comfortable, mushy, good heel hold. Lightweight.

Very easy to clean, just throw them in your washing machine . The only problem I have with them is that they are so soft on the top, that my big toe which I tend to lift while walking so that part of the shoe where toe is pocking is getting dirty in no time. I suggest getting darker color. Otherwise you will have a dark dirty spot in your toes area all the time.

I run 15-25 miles and week and I have normal arches and neutral pronation. nd have been wearing saucony forever, but decided to give these bad boys a try and I was very pleased. They are a great shoe all around. I do not have any pain at all running in them now that they are broken in. My only advice is you need to sit down and read the little pamphlet that comes with them and break them in properly, they are a minimalist running shoe and you should not just throw them on and go out and run 6 miles on your first day! No no no you need to break them in slowly and then they will be your favorite shoe. Sadly I can not find them locally any longer and no where on line carries my size 6.5 so I will be returning to my Saucony's and giving their minimalist shoe a try.

This shoe is awesome for running. I feel these are better than the Saucony shoes I used to wear. There is just enough cushioning and medium bounce in these shoes. I normally buy .5 size larger in running shoes, but in these I did not have to buy up. Buy your true street shoe size. There is good support for my medium arch and the heel cups my heel perfectly and with this shoe my ankles get the proper support and do not feel weak after running.

I am not a runner. I am 54, and I walk 2 miles every day at lunchtime. I went to a Fleet Feet store, and the shoe they recommended and the one that fit best was an Adidas running shoe. It was a higher end model that unfortunately I could not afford ($165 with the inserts they wanted to sell me, too). I looked on Amazon and came up with these instead. They are okay. They fit a little large on me I have a lot of room at the end of my toes. They were not comfortable the first few times I wore them. I ended up buying a pair of Dr. Scholls' Active Series inserts, and that has helped some. I am a little disappointed these don't feel better on my feet. They are just okay, and if I can find something that feels and fits better, I will retire these to just casual use and won't wear them on my daily walks. If my feet don't feel right, I am miserable all over.

Review of Inov-8 Men's F-Lite 230 SMU Cross-Training Shoe

The shoe is constructed well, is light, stylish and comfortable, and should perform as expected. Unfortunately for me, there are 2 areas of concern:

1. The last is narrow (similar to Puma shoes), and so I had to order a size up (based on feedback from others). While the shoes fit all right, the shoes toe is quite long and tends to stick out. This is a but of an issue while running, so people with broad toes do take note.

2. The toe-box is also made from a material (almost like stiff textile) which tends to collapse/indent where pressed a bit strange, and quite regular since the toe is long and the foot does not sit there (refer to my earlier point). This is not a performance issue, but cosmetic in nature, still not expected in a quality shoe.

I have an average size foot and usually can wear shoes right to my size, but i found the Inov-8 F-Lite 230 to be a 1/2 size too long. Plus they are very narrow and squeeze my foot. Totally unwearable. But they are super light and have some great design. So if my feet were thinner then I'd definitely return for a 1/2 size smaller than I normally wear. I'm sad they don't make them wider. They look great.

I love these shoes. I have flat feet and scoliosis and I was getting tendonitis since I do bootcamp. I switched to ascics and they just caused me to get severe hip pain. I couldn't run for 3 months. Someone from my bootcamp who also does crossfit recommended the Inov8 and a few days after no more hip pain or tendinitis. I have been using these now for a couple of months and I feel great in them. I came across this article which explains why pain is diminished with barefoot or minimalist shoes.

I purchased them brand new less than 3 months ago and have worn them a dozen times and they're already falling apart at the seems. Both shoes have a hole and are coming apart in the exact same spot which clearly indicates to me that it is a flaw in the design and/or they are cheaply produced. Cheap FiveTenn Men's Chase Hiking Shoe

Seriously, they hold up sturdy for over a year with severe abuse. Very severe. The tread didn't even fade away from all of the running I've been doing. The tread and traction is as good as new. The only thing that cause me to get a new pair is that the leather on the top managed to get a hole in it from something sharp.

I've also had a problem with previous shoes where the sole's would fall off after a while. Well, say goodbye to that problem...

Also, they are very fashionable. They are all purpose shoes, and boy do they do a better job for them then shoes specialized in: climbing, running, fking anything...

I will never wear another pair of casual tennis shoes ever again.

I ordered these in my normal size and it took a bit of modification to get the fit I was looking for. Because these shoes are designed primarily for parkour, free running and the like, the fit is quite snug. Also, the laces are a type that is designed to stay tight. The end result is that the shoes pinched at some places and the distribution of clamping force was not equal. I am sure that with time and practice I would have learned to lace and secure these shoes properly, but I bought these because I wanted a high quality shoe designed for abuse I would never give it. I ended up getting superfeet black insoles, which are fantastic and half the thickness of the factory insole (which was very good itself, but they were tight and I needed the room), and regular laces. Now the shoes conform to my feet like sneaky gloves that absolutely refuse to slip even in the worst conditions to date. I have not tried them on snow and ice, but they handle wet tiles like dry concrete. The quality is higher than all but the most expensive shoes that I own. They are light and the profile is fairly low. They are not a minimalist shoe, but they are definitely approaching that end of the spectrum while still being a sneaker. The more I wear them, the better they fit. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a quality active shoe. Be aware of the sizing, however. If you tend to run near the high end of your size, or have unusually shaped feet, you may want to go a half size higher.

These shoes are quite comfortable. After purchasing, I went on a 2 or so hour hike at a local waterfall state park. They were very comfortable and provided great cushion and support. One thing I noticed right off the bat was that these shoes have great grip. You can tell that the special stealth rubber really does a great job of sticking to surfaces to provide excellent traction. These are great quality shoes and you won't be disappointed.

Buy New Balance Men's M1260 Stability Running Shoe

As a previous owner of the NB 1223, 1224, and 1225, I was disappointed at the reviews of the 1226. Luckily NB also offered the 1260 as an upgrade. Compared to the 1225s these seem to be of slightly higher quality and comfort with one exception: The cushioning under the forward part of your foot feels thin. It's not that the cushioning isn't adequate, but it does feel thin and slightly firmer than the 1225. I do get a better sense of the terrain I'm moving across, but I do think that it encourages you to land more on your heel as a result. Perhaps the firmer cushioning leads to a longer-lasting sneaker the 1225s did tend to wear out after a few months but I've gotten used to the softer design. If the cushioning were slightly thicker I think these would be a great pair of sneakers.

I have been running relatively long distances (6-26 miles per run) for over 25 years and have tried many brands of running shoes. This is one of the best I have tried. And better yet, they're made (or at least "assembled") in America.

Different shapes of shoes work well for different people, but never go running in anything but RUNNING shoes or you will get injuries. (Cross-training shoes are NOT running shoes.) The typical runner should replace their running shoes every six months, or whenever the running shoes loose their "springy" feel they have when they are new. I replace mine every 3-4 months.

Despite my frequent shoe turn-over, I began having foot pains last year after long runs, which gave me significant discomfort while walking for a day or two afterward. I tried different running shoes, including other New Balance shoes, to no avail.

I figured, "Well, that old age," but as soon as I started running in these shoes, the pain stopped and I have been pain free, since. I feel young again!

The shoes arrived at my house surprisingly quickly, given that I opted for standard shipping. (I think it was about two or three days, but I can't be sure because UPS leaves package on my front doorstep, and I generally enter and leave my house via my garage.)

These running shoes have held up surprisingly well, especially considering that several miles of my run are along the barnacle-covered rocky shoreline of the south Puget Sound, which have caused some of my previous shoes to wear out after several runs.

I have since decided to order two more pair of these shoes.
