Review of Inov-8 Men's F-Lite 230 SMU Cross-Training Shoe

The shoe is constructed well, is light, stylish and comfortable, and should perform as expected. Unfortunately for me, there are 2 areas of concern:

1. The last is narrow (similar to Puma shoes), and so I had to order a size up (based on feedback from others). While the shoes fit all right, the shoes toe is quite long and tends to stick out. This is a but of an issue while running, so people with broad toes do take note.

2. The toe-box is also made from a material (almost like stiff textile) which tends to collapse/indent where pressed a bit strange, and quite regular since the toe is long and the foot does not sit there (refer to my earlier point). This is not a performance issue, but cosmetic in nature, still not expected in a quality shoe.

I have an average size foot and usually can wear shoes right to my size, but i found the Inov-8 F-Lite 230 to be a 1/2 size too long. Plus they are very narrow and squeeze my foot. Totally unwearable. But they are super light and have some great design. So if my feet were thinner then I'd definitely return for a 1/2 size smaller than I normally wear. I'm sad they don't make them wider. They look great.

I love these shoes. I have flat feet and scoliosis and I was getting tendonitis since I do bootcamp. I switched to ascics and they just caused me to get severe hip pain. I couldn't run for 3 months. Someone from my bootcamp who also does crossfit recommended the Inov8 and a few days after no more hip pain or tendinitis. I have been using these now for a couple of months and I feel great in them. I came across this article which explains why pain is diminished with barefoot or minimalist shoes.

I bought these shoes specifically for CrossFit workouts. They're wonderful. The fit really well and look cool too. They perform well for lifting and also for things like box jumps and running. I wouldn't do any long distances in them, though.

I expected so much more out of these $110 shoes from a company w/ a seemingly good reputation (Innov-8). I purchased them brand new less than 3 months ago and have worn them a dozen times and they're already falling apart at the seems. Both shoes have a hole and are coming apart in the exact same spot which clearly indicates to me that it is a flaw in the design and/or they are cheaply produced. Extremely frustrated and requesting a refund form Amazon.
