My husband is in the Army, and goes through new running shoes about every 4-5 months. He's tried all different brands and levels of shoe. This time, I strongly encouraged him to get the absolute best running shoe the New Balance store offered, along with the additional super-duper insoles. It was pricier than usual, but after all, you only have one body, so you might as well take care of it, right? Well, this morning, he called me right after taking a PT test (after taking the second half of the summer off of training) to enthusastically thank me for making him get the shoes, and excitedly exclaim that, not only did he shave a minute off his run time, but felt INCREDIBLE. His hips and knees didn't hurt like usual, and the term he used to desribe his new shoes was "phenomenal."

This shoe is by far the best i've ever owned. I walk a lot an run on the tread mill an with my previous shoe i used to get blisters a lot an my feet would be sore, but I have not had that problem with the 1224. I recommend it just for everyday use, walking, running, etc...

This is my second pair of 1224's, after two pairs of 1223's. New Balances just fit me better. The 1224's have a nice blend of stability and cushioning. The only shoe I've found comparable are the Saucony Hurricanes. The kicker for New balance is that they are the last of the major sports shoe companies that make a real effort to have their shoes assembled in the U.S. If I were to suggest any changes, it would perhaps be a little more forefoot cushion. By the way, you will love the laces: they stay tied due to their unique design.

I have flat feet and suffer from pronation. I needed stability shoes for regular everyday use. For last 8 months I have been using New Balance MR1224. I am very impressed with these shoes. These shoes are very comfortable and made from high quality materials.

I didn't know these shoes were waterproof when I bought them but they are. They are also very comfortable they keep you feet dry while you are gardening or washing the car etc. Stylish too they look great with jeans. Rockport makes comfortable shoes that don't cost an arm and a leg like Mephisto or Ecco and they come in American sizes. I wear size 12 and any Rockport shoe style that is size twelve fits.

This New Balance running shoe runs 1/2 size small. This is my fifth pair of New Balance running shoes, and my experience is that all five pairs run 1/2 size small. I don't notice other brands running small as much as I notice New Balance.

Sizes run small and I had to purchase a size larger than normal. The shoe fits and wears well. This New Balance 940 replaces the older version 850. I walk 5 miles a day and average about 600 miles a pair before I have to replace shoes. I will continue buying New Balance as long as they are made in the US and wear like they do.

These are my favorite running shoes. Better stability and arch support than most running shoes. Nice snug fit. Not the lightest shoe, but good for the amount of stability. Length is maybe a quarter-size smaller than other popular brands, but my normal size fits well.

New Balance shoes are about the only shoe I can wear that works with my orthodics. They're comfortable and fit flat feet well. The only issue I have is that after about 6 months of regular use the back lining tends to come apart until they're uncomfortable to wear. If you don't mind replacing them in a few months, get 'em.

I was a little leery of buying shoes on line. However, these New Balance sneaks are exactly as advertised. The fit perfectly, are comfortable, and look great. Also, they arrived two days earlier than expected.

Ordered size 13 4E. The box and inside the shoe state this size, but they are a little small and tight. My other New Balance shoes This size fit perfectly--but these do not. They fit more like a size 12. I think they would be good shoes if they fit properly.

I really like the look of these shoes, which is the primary reason I bought them. They are decently comfortable, however you will likely want to add another insole insert as I have if you're gonna be on your feet for any length of time, as the padding is not all that substantial. Also, the rubber toe cap started peeling back on the right shoe only a couple months after I bought these shoes, which is disappointing. I was able to reattach it with some epoxy but I was not happy to be repairing a $75 pair of shoes so soon. Overall these are pretty sweet shoes and I would recommend them to anyone that likes this style.

I got this shoe in the quest to find my daughter dress shoes that are wide enough on her feet. While these are still wider than some of the "wide" Stride Rite white sandals I ordered, they are rather stiff in the soles (not at all like the rest of the See Kai Run shoes she's had) and the back edge of the forefoot of the sandal cut into her skin. This is a stiff sandal in general and wouldn't be comfortable for more than to have on one's feet for sitting through a wedding ceremony or church service.

Bought three pairs of these laces directly from welovecolors all three pairs have such fat tips that they wouldn't fit through the eyelets on ANY of the shoes (Nike, Reebok, etc) that I tried. Their customer service person told me that ALL of their laces have the same tips. So if you have normal eyelets on your normal shoes, it's pretty much guaranteed that these won't fit your shoes. I'm awaiting their return label so that I can send back these useless laces.

Love these laces & the material they're made of (nylon). Colored laces for some reason have become impossible to find in a retail store so I'm very thankful for finding these laces & the variety of colors available. It's just not possible to be cool without color coordinated laces for your sneakers.

I've had three pairs of the Avia A344 model shoe. I don't like laces and only walk. The first pair split at the seams (little wear on the soles) but I kept using them as they were comfortable. When I took an assignment back east, my wife bought me two new pairs and in less than four months, the first pair also split at the seams (both sides, outer side worse than inner). I haven't worn the other pair much but checked them last night and they haven't split but I can see where it is about to. Thus, I would steer clear of these shoes. They're comfortable and they look great but they don't last for diddly; I would say the pair I'm wearing now has about 50 miles on them while the other pair has less than 20. Considering that the pair with about 50 miles has no visible wear on the soles, that's not very good.

It has been awhile sionce I have been able to find any decent walking shoes that are not lace up! I do miss the NIKE version!

These fit well and seem to not need a real "break-in" period, at all!

I prefer an air cushion sole, but these are close enough for my daily mile walks!

Quality seems to be OK, but time will tell. (The strap versions I have been getting at Wal-Mart, stor brand, do not last very long)

These are usually popular with the Senior Citizen set and I definitely like/need them that way!

The differences between different shoe brands for the "same" size makes it difficult to order by mail. Normally I take a 12 medium in sports shoes. I ordered a walking shoe from another (not-Avia) company recently and it was too loose. This Avia shoe was great in all respects except that it was short in the toe. This was a surprise because I had settled on Avia after going through several other manufacturers over the years for my tennis shoes (actually cross-trainers) because they were the most comfortable by far for my feet. I guess even within the same brand, there can be manufacturing variations. In the future I will go back to a brick and mortar shoes store to try them on before purchase.

This is a supeb, sturdy tennis and walking shoe. It feels like a glove and I would sleep in them in the winter if my wife didn't like the feel of my toes. Additionally, the shoes are the nicest looking tennis shoes I have ever seen. And, they are leather! I dunno' if I should but I will eventually put them in the washing machine for cleaning. I particularly like the toe box which provides ample room. I changed to red laces so I wouldn't look so-o preppy and to eliminate the dinginess of white laces. I wear a 10.75 size shoe and the 11 I purchased fits perfectly.

Have tried many different brands and this shoe fits me best, provides good support, long wearing, good traction, and reasonably priced. I liked them so much I bought 2 extra pair. Did not find any problems with the shoes. The only thing that could be improved is the ventilation for those hot humid days.

The primary purpose of these shoes was to play tennis, and they have held up well after four weeks of play. The grip on the hard court is as expected, and they allow you to stop sudden and go in the other direction without discomfort. So all in all, i would recommend these shoes for tennis.

I got these shoes to work at the US Open in Merion. Okay... I just said that because you probably didn't get to go.

Anyway, it rained the entire time I was there and white shoes in the mud are not white shoes for long.

I've cleaned them off as well as I can but the soles are still filthy. Unfortunate for my favorite shoe brand. Get black Lacoste shoes if you want them to last longer.
