I've been sold on Saucony for many years, but after finding this shoe, I'm totally hooked on New Balance. A half-marathoner, I log about 100 miles per month on average. No black toes, no numbness, no lost toenails with this New Balance W1080. Shoe laces stay tied without having to double knot. Note: get a FULL size longer than regular shoe size, particularly if you wear orthotics.

I am just getting started in the running world and training for some 5ks. I wanted to make sure I was starting out in the right shoe, so I went and got fit at Fleet Feet Sports in Brentwood, TN. This shoe was a winner, but in the store they only had the purple and grey ones, which is not me. Luckily, amazon is awesome and had this color option, which I absolutely LOVE. I also love that New Balance has so many options for shoe width! Not everyone has the same size and shape foot and they totally accommodate for that! I added some insoles because I have ridiculously high arches and these are now my 'perfect' tennis shoe! The colors go well together and are very bright. They are very comfortable and lightweight. I highly recommend these shoes!

This is the second pair of New Balance 1080 series I bought and they are wonderful running shoes that provide support for my fallen arches (hereditary). I've tried various running shoes over the years, and these work very well. I bought my first pair at a New Balance store in which they properly fitted me and recommended Ten Second Insoles for orthotics. This has helped me run better and without any discomfort or pain in my ankles or knees. I ordered this second pair online, which I usually don't do for shoes because I want to try shoes on. However since I knew my size and Amazon's price cannot be beat, so I ordered and am very satisfied.

I would recommend these shoes for runners who need support and cushioning.

I've tried them all (Nike, Reebok, Brooks, Asics, etc..) and this is the only running shoe I can wear out of the box without any breaking in time no pain, shin splints, blisters, etc.. It's a pricey shoe, but worth every penny. I run 3.5 miles per day, 3-5 times per week and this shoe performs like a dream.

I love this shoe. it has great room in the toe box, fits my heel great. My feet don't burn and it gives them great support. I did go up a full size. I usually wear an 8.5 but bought this in a 9.5. I'm so glad that I did because after running a little, they fit great. I highly recommend them but size up. Also, I like the shoe laces--old fashioned kind that stay tied.

But ONLY if you have really high arches. Otherwise you are going to be quite uncomfortable. The arches are now so high that you almost feel as if your feet have to be tipped to the outside. I found that the first day I ran in them, which was on the treadmill, they made me feel like I was running in quicksand. It was not comfortable and really hurt. The next time I ran, I did so outside, and it was GREAT! I ran a few more times outside in them and then tried the treadmill again and after breaking them in a bit the treadmill was good. They are not very attractive though. They are my 6th pair of Omni's and I'm a much bigger fan of the 8s I started out in! Don't ruin a good thing guys!! I will still always choose Saucony to run in, they make a great shoe.

Running shoes that fit one person will be too narrow for someone else, too flat for someone else... you have to try them on. I definitely recommend finding a local running store to help you out. I need extra stability in my running shoe, and my toes need ample space to wiggle (other shoes give me blisters on the side of the widest part of my foot, and under my toes) but the Omnis are perfect, every season, right out of the box. I've shopped at my local running store enough times to know that this is always the shoe I end up buying! When they didn't have any in stock and I desperately needed a new pair, I ordered them online. I already knew they were perfect for my feet.

I bought these (adidas Terrex Fast X Mid GTX) in January for a planned 800 mile hike of the El Camino Real in California. I was skeptical of the fast-lace system but adidas has always done well by me so I trusted them. After wearing the bots on local hikes for four months I set off on my big journey in May. By the time I had walked from Sonoma to Salinas there was trouble with the laces not releasing from the little "dongles" that clamp them. A few times I thought I would have to cut the laces to get the boots off but with a great deal of effort they eventually came free.

At that point I wrote to adidas customer service and explained the trouble I was having. I pointed out that, as I was hundreds of miles from home in the middle of an 800 mile trek I would be in huge trouble if these boots gave out. The useless response from adidas advised me to try to return the bots to the original retailer (Amazon) and said if I had trouble there adidas would provide an RMA for a return and credit. The clerk obviously never read the pertinent information in my email.

At any rate, a few days later when I arrived in Soledad and removed my boots one of the laces snapped. Since this is a closed-loop fast-lace system, replacement is impossible. I just had time to go online to Amazon and order a new pair of New Balance Dunham boots for next-day delivery to Greenfield, my next stop. I cut off the shredded portion of the broken lace, backed it off a couple of eyelets and tied an old-fashioned knot, which surprised me by holding out for the 14 mile walk. Before leaving Greenfield for King City I mailed the adidas boots home so that I could deal with returning them to Amazon/adidas when I returned home in another month plus. To Amazon's credit when I contacted Customer Service they waived the usual return period and accepted my return for a full refund.

I do have to give the adidas Terrex credit for holding up well other than the lacing system. The soles and uppers look like new and they were fairly comfortable, although they did pinch my little pinkies badly enough to turn both toenails black. I must say the Dunham by New Balance Men's MCR6630G Cloud Mid Cut Boot surpassed the adidas Terrex in comfort, having a much wider toe box that no longer tortured my little toes. I did have to go back to actually lacing and tying my boots again, but I finished the remaining 500+ miles without further boot-related incident.

So, if you want a comfortable, GoreTex lined, lightweight boot and don't mind a narrow toe box, you could do a lot worse than these adidas so long as you get the ones with normal laces.

Nike's seem to run smaller these days, so bear that in mind before buying. Overall the build quality is good. The shoes after a 1.5 years aren't falling apart at the seams. I think the midsoles break down too quickly though. I rotate running shoes, so ignore the overall years I have had them. Given the miles I have, I do not feel the midsoles are as durable as they should be.

I sent these back ONLY because at 11.5 D they were a tad too tight, and I had just tried a pair of Teva Links size 12D (that are actually a bit wider than D) that worked great. I should have ordered 12's instead, and I still might. These shoes were so comfortable in the footbed and since I wear 2E they were too cramped in the toe box as D's. They grip well on platform pedals too BTW, but not as well as the Tevas do. BUT, since the Tevas are going to get trashed and dirty doing mountain bike duty, I may get the Lux's in 12D to kick around in, and have as backup.

I purchased these for my 9 yr old daughter who loves blue! She says they are really comfortable and she was really happy with the color. They seem to fit pretty true to size, as we ordered the size she normally wears in athletic shoes. She has a narrow foot and we had no problem with these being to wide or bulky.

I have a number of ecco gym shoes & I love the brand. This is the first time I purchased running shoes; these shoes are light weight and very comfortable. Individuals accustomed to running shoes would probably rate them a 5. I rated them a 4 because I think I prefer a little more cushioning; of course, this would affect the weight of the shoe. I have only worn them once. Perhaps, after a few more wearings, I will have adjusted to the lighter shoe.

I loved the Mizuno Wave Rider 15's, then I was crazy about the 16's. I've done most of my running in those two models. I switched to Brooks Pure Project shoes because I loved the lighter, more moulded fit. This shoe brought me back to Mizuno. It fits like a glove with great support for the arch and heel but the toe box is roomy. It is light and responsive on road and trails with plenty of cushion, although not as much as the 15's. It's a great product! I bought the raspberry colored but I wish they had a larger selection of colors. Never the less, I am hooked!

I really like the fit of this shoe and it is light. I am a neutral runner. I am a Mizuno fan. i run 25 to 30 miles per week with a long run on the weekends. I try to alternate shoes. I do about the same mileage during the week in 3 days that I do on the weekends. I ran 7 miles first time out in these shoes with no problem.

I am an avid runner and triathlete. I run all distances from 5Ks to marathons. I'd say I am typically middle of the pack or a bit faster. Currently, I am running about 20-25 miles per week as I ramp up to another marathon in February. I am a neutral runner and have previously run in Asics Nimbus, Mizuno Wave Rider, and Mizuno Precision. I bought these as a replacement for my favorite shoes, the Mizuno Precision 13. They are not really a replacement, as they are a totally different shoe. They appeal to the same type of runners, though. They are a great middle of the road shoe, so to speak -not super cushy but not minimalist. I knew the drop was only 10 mm compared to the 13 mm of the Precision, but I was wanting to go a little more minimal and a bit lighter. I've only run in these shoes for about a month, and I'm having Achilles problems running only 10 miles for my long runs and 3-4 runs per week. Nothing major, but it's definitely tight and sore much of the time. Achilles issues aside, I've always loved Mizuno shoes because they last forever! My Precisions have over 500 miles on them, and they still look brand new (well, the soles are a bit worn, but the upper has no holes or anything -I trained for and raced an Ironman in them). My Asics always had holes in them by then. Unfortunately, after only about 100 miles, these shoes are showing some wear. The mesh has small holes where my foot bends already! If it wasn't for the durability factor, I'd give these more of a chance. I will continue to run shorter runs in them and hopefully make the adjustment to the lower drop, but I have a feeling they just may not last long. I think I'm going to try to pick up a pair of Precisions before they are completely gone. I REALLY wanted to like these. I waited a month for my running shoe store to get them in after Mizuno pulled them from the shelves for a defect. Many people are having issues with holes in the mesh now that they've been out for a few months. I hope Mizuno will fix this problem because otherwise, they are great shoes.
