I currently own two pairs of Gel Enduro shoes. I bought these shoes with the understanding that they were WIDE width. Since I was very happy with my other shoes I quickly took off the tags, and got rid of the packaging (yep I was that confident in the brand). As I walked around the house I noticed that they did not have the cushioning of my other pairs. They were a lot stiffer but I thought that I just needed to adjust to the new shoes. Wore them about 3 hours and I seriously wanted to dump them in the nearest dumpster. They are horribly uncomfortable. Wishing I could take them back but in all conscience I can not because I DID wear them and got rid of the packaging to boot. Lesson learned, I should have went with my first instinct and return them promptly after trying them on :(

I bought these shoes this summer and I've been completely loving them. They are a bit narrow (I have narrow feet so this isn't a problem), which is a typical running shoe "problem." But, if you have narrow feet they're wonderful. They are very cushioned, so if you are a runner that lands a bit hard on your heel despite trying to retrain your stride they're good because they give you a lot of support. And, as usual with Asics, there is wonderful arch support. Highly recommend this product to any runner.

Cheap La Sportiva Women's Quantum Trail Running Shoe

These shoes are the most wonderful fit I have found in a trail runner they wrap your foot as if they were actually "wrapped" great arch support and wonderfully soft. The problem is, the softness comes from a "bubbly" rubber over foam on the sole which wore through about three weeks after purchasing the shoes.

Have now worn them for almost nine months and am resorting to Shoe Goo to keep themm going. Have written twice to La Sportiva no answer. Guess La Sportiva is off my buying list. At $115 a copy, I definitely would not recommend these shoes.

After doing my first 50k trail run on a minimalist type shoe, I knew I was going to need more cushion going into my second. After all my research from various trail reviews, I decided to try the Quantum. They are very snug/narrow shoes that provide good support and the plushest ride ever! They are not so cushy that you lose the feel of the trail, but just right :). I had to upsize almost a size and half as I feel they run small. This may be due to the narrowness of the shoe especially in the toe box. I had to get creative with the lacing, and even then, I believe I could have sized up another half size. I have put them through about 50 miles so far. They are rather slippery in the mud but hold the ground well on dry rock. They flex well and hold your heel in well. If you have a low volume foot this may be a good option. I gave them 4 stars as opposed to 5 due to the sizing issue.

They protect my feet. They are light weight and somewhat comfortable but not for a long period of time. I find wearing them for any length of time; I just want to remove them. They are find for short periods, but I would not be able to wear them all day, every day. But that is me.

He really liked these shoes, but unfortunately the shoe sole turned out to be rather slippery because the middle part of it is made of some kind of foam instead of the rubber. These were bought for my husband. He says that they're okay, are flexible and light, but don't offer a lot of internal cushioning. The removable insert that's provided is pretty thin and provides little cushioning. He's going to buy some athletic inserts to correct this problem. We got them when they were listed at $28, so buying his own insert will be an acceptable trade-off. The mesh construction allows for a good amount of airflow. As with all Avia shoes, he has to order a size up because this brand of shoes seems to run short and slightly narrow. Avia doesn't seem to offer wide-width shoes in the styles that he really wants, or maybe we just haven't run across them. He normally wears a 12, but needs a 13 with Avia. He'll see how the shoe holds up overtime and provide an update.

Easy five stars here. I broke these in on six miles of muddy trail straight out of the box and I couldn't be happier. I wear a 10 1/2 D and have neutral pronation. I ordered these in 10 1/2 and they fit perfectly. I really like that there is plenty of room in the toe box but the sole is still firm. The traction on these is great and really stick to the trail. The shoes also feel really light as far as weight goes. On paved ground, you can feel that you are running on thicker tread, but it is still a smooth ride on pavement while trying to get to the trail. I think the color does look good on these. The last 2 pairs of trail shoes i tried were Pearl Izumi and these Mizuno shoes are much better, a nicer fit, and much more comfortable. If these become anything less than awesome while I am running on them, I will update this review.

This was my first Mizuno shoe ever in my 17-year running career. Very impressed. Snug fit but not tight (I bought the same size I usually buy Nike or NB in), enough cushioning for trails, but light enough that it doesn't feel like too much shoe for treadmill or pavement running. Will probably look to buy another pair soon.

AVIA Men's Avi-Maximus Running Shoe Review

I've been searching for a low drop athletic shoe for running and training. I looked at all the big brands and couldn't bring myself to spend the $$$. I'm on a budget and don't have a lot for extras but my previous training shoes were all but threads. I've tried the barefoot thing and know that I need some protection.

First Impressions:

These are my first "low drop" shoes and as such felt a little weird(good weird) when I first put them on. I did some body weight squats and could instantly feel how the shoes promote driving through the heel. I then took a short, light run and was pleased that the shoes also promote a mid-foot/fore-foot strike. All this was with socks. The following morning I took a "vigorous" walk for a couple of miles pushing my daughter in a jog stroller. I did this sock-less and was pleased that there were no raw spots and the shoes breathed very well.

Fit:

I'm 6'1", 178 lbs, and wear a size 8.5 which is the size I ordered. Putting the shoe on was no problem, the lace system is easy to manipulate. The heel-pocket really seems to grab the foot and keep it there. The shoes loosens up as you move from mid-arch to the fore-foot. The toe box of the shoe is roomy and allows for splaying of the toes and makes for very stable maneuvering and a surefooted feel. The padding is minimal but not "barefoot" minimal. You can feel the ground well but not every pebble. The upper seems rugged and is decently flexible while providing support. If you're looking for a barefoot feel shoe this is not it.

Overall I'm really happy with these shoes and hope that Avia is still making them when I need a new pair. I intend to update this review after a few months of use. So far these shoes are wicked awesome.

Before I start, let me tell you that I were my shoes daily. I work in a lab and am on my feet alot. Due to the daily wear and a foot issue, I change my shoes every two months. With those comments done, let me tell you about the shoes. They are pretty and relatively inexpensive. However, the shoes aren't comfortable for my feet. After wearing them and stretching them, they still hurt my little toes. They don't support my ankles. I have to tie them very tight to keep the laces from coming out of a DOUBLE knot. The lining is already tearing along the back sides of both shoes. These shoes aren't as good as the Reeboks I bought several years ago and I'm disappointed with them. It is almost time for new shoes. I'm going back to Easy Spirits. They last the two months, support my ankles, and, even during the stretching period don't hurt my toes.

the sneakers are solid and above average in overall quality. good materials and good craftsmanship. however, they have some flaws in terms of comfort. the insole is 1 size smaller than the sneakers themselves so that there is a half inch gap at the tip of the shoe. and, the inner knitting of the tongue seems uncomfortable. i might not have ordered them if i had had a chance to try them on beforehand.

I bought these shoes on clearance, but WOW, I did not expect them to be this terrible. There was hard fabric on the inner tongue that stabbed into the joint of my big toe everytime I took a step. Forget walking a mile in them! The heel, also, would just slip on and off my foot; conversely, the tongue and laces were too tight a channel. I can't even fathom how Reebok could make a shoe so awful! Disillusioned, here: I think I'm just going to go non-name brand, non-pain.

Best Reebok Men's Yourflex Run Running Shoe Deals

I'm a returning runner and initially fell into the "minimalist" craze, with the expected results. After healing up I decided to try out a slightly more padded shoe and put on the Yourflex by Reebok at a local sports store. Fantastic. Immediately I felt how light they were, how comfortable, soft and airy they were and how much they flexed underfoot (this is a good thing!).

I now have about 20 miles on them and they are easily my favorite running shoe, and the shoe I am most likely to reach for out of my closet... period.

Pluses: Light, well ventilated, flexy underfoot but still padded, super comfy

Minuses: Not fancy looking, no toes, can't julienne carrots

Seriously, if you're looking for a lightweight, inexpensive mid-strike/forefoot strike style running shoe with a little fluff underfoot, you won't find a better one.

This shoe is fantastic, got the grey and white ones for $51 dollars, i have pretty average feet good arch and normal width and i got these in 10.5 they run true to size. as with all new running shoes i'll wear them for a day to break them in and get a feel for them then run in them, and these feel amazing, they really absorb any impact when you walk, if you're not a runner get these for when you go out on walks or your spending a day sight seeing. the upper is a synthetic mesh that is very breathable and keeps your feet cool and prevents blistering. running in these feels amazing, this is a lightweight shoe, not a minimalist shoe, you are getting a lot of padding, however it is extremely lightweight and comfortable to run in. the shoe is extremely flexible and allows for a lot of natural foot motion, which i find comfortable but other runners seek more stability.

THIS SHOE IS WORTH EVERY DOLLAR.

the yourflex is a more basic version of the realflex.

First I was pretty skeptical about this or any other new-fad shoe design but was looking for something (anything) to try other than the standard shoes I have been running in for years.

Quick background I starting running for fitness and the challenge about 3 years ago, namely distances of 5 miles plus. It started as way to lose the excess 35 lbs I had gained over some years and then became about the mental challenge of pursuing a goal to run a full marathon. Long story short, I lost all the weight, got in shape and ran my first full marathon (first race / organized run ever actually) 3 years ago. I quickly learned that my right knee is plagued by ITBS Inter-Tibial Band Syndrome. It basically (for me) causes the tendon running from your hip to your knee to swell and then inhibits the knee's bending while causing extreme pain over distance or continuous impact running...as confirmed last year with my 2nd Marathon where my knee "locked" up at mile 18...that last 8 miles with a knee brace and hobbling was almost enough to end my running right there.

I don't concede easily and after buying all of the high-end top name shoes, treadmill video gait checks, correcting my stride, fixing my form, trying the "barefoot" five-fingers for awhile trail running (natural) and wearing a knee brace after a 16 mile run my knee just quits on me. From core-strengthening, to yoga to hip-flexor strengthening exercises too with cross-training, nothing helped at all.

I saw an ad for these some time ago and knew a couple of people who had them, but never really gave it another thought. 2 weeks out from this year's Marathon, I decided to give them a go...what do I have to lose. Ordered the Zig Energy (trust me confusing, I know...the different type are generally just different materials...some for toning, some for running, etc; the soles all appear to be the same) and literally only put 30 mins on a treadmill for a quick hot-spot / fit check and another 6 miles outside when I ran out of run time that day. That was it for "break-in".

So, the final test: I did what I know better and tried something new on Race Day & ran my 3rd Full Marathon in Italy 2 weeks ago in them, untested (fully). It was cold and raining all day while I racked up the miles waiting for the 16 mile mark and imminent knee failure. 17 miles. 18 miles....no knee pain at ALL. Picked up the pace 21, 22...these shoes are AMAZING! Ran my fastest Marathon time ever (03:44 a PR for me at least!) on wet, cobblestone roads for 26.2 miles absolutely pain free for my first distance run ever. I am sold, no kidding, no BS. Works as advertised.

A few notes: The fit is right...I have a Wide Foot, but generally would wear an 8.5E (XW)...they didn't have it so I opted for the 9D (US size) and it fit perfectly. I worried about foot swell over distance (causing pain and blisters in the "toe-box" in narrow shoes), but while it did get snug, I didn't get a single blister or hot spot (seamless upper too helped I'm sure). I DID however due to foot lengthening / impact get 3 black toenails (impact blood blisters under the nail itself they are lost after awhile). I have experienced this in boots and many other shoes as well...distance running just can cause this without a perfectly matched shoes tried and tested. I wore some high-end socks that I trained in for running and had no pain overall.

For Runners: Your foot-strike...this is designed to be a heel-strike shoe, FYI. I had to re-learn how to "improperly" run again after months of training otherwise (mid-fore foot). I kept my stride and gait about the same, but forced heel first impact unless I was passing other runners with some speed. It's it the design and again regardless it works. The only thing for me I significantly changed over 3 years, and it really works.

I have already ordered others for friends and passed the word to everyone I know. I want to find some for my kids too for Xmas...as trendy as they may seem, you can customize them completely in any color mix and even put your name on them (through Reebok for extra $$). I will be ordering a less flashy pair (black) for work as the black and bright yellow stands out a bit too much post marathon attire.

I am a dedicated customer and when a company makes something true to its claims and serves me well, I spread business by word of mouth (it goes both ways though!).

Buy them you won't regret it. Read the other reviews I did and had them proven correct.

With a recent history of plantar fasciitis and having it surgically repaired these shoes are awesome. I had a surgical repair for my condition three years ago and was still buying new shoes every 6-months. The verdict is still out on when my next shoe purchase will be. I am now working out in these shoes and have taken three all day trips to Disneyland. After the those trips my wife complains that her feet are hurting her, I laugh because mine feel great. Buy these shoes and replace the in-soles with after market thicker in-soles you will not regret it.

I have worn the shoes a few times as yet and done a few road runs + walks. They are really good and I like them, or more so, I love it :)

The following are my observations...

Size I have wide feet (bordering on "E"). Therefore as recommended by others, I bought ½ size larger. It is a true to fit.

Comfort Very very comfortable, smooth insides and hence has no "first wear" problems. Well cushioned and the arch support is good too. This is probably my best investment in sports shoes.
