Review of New Balance Men's MT1010 Minimus Trail Alpha Running Shoe

This is the third pair of New Balance Minimus' I've purchased. Two are the less cushioned MT20 trail running shoes, which I've found to be great weight lifting shoes. These shoes where purchased because of the more substantially cushioned sole for everyday wear. The one big difference was sizing; my other two pairs are size 10 and with these I had to return a couple of times because they run quite large, finally ending up with a size 9. Once broken in, as with my other New Balance, they're very comfortable to wear.

I am running with these bad boys everyday here in Afghanistan. They feel great and are holding up very well. They can be a little challenging when I hit heavy rocks or gravel but that is kind of hard to avoid over here. I will definately get another pair when I get back to the states.

I have NO arches. None. NADA. As a result virtually all athletic shoes cause my ankles to roll, except for these. They have a very wide and stable platform and weigh nothing. I have tried Altras and Merrells and for me, these shoes are much better than both.

I have had two other pairs of minimus. These are my favorite so far. They are comfortable and lightweight. I'm thinking about ordering another pair or similar, just different colors, maybe a little louder. No issues with anything on these shoes yet. I hope they hold up as good as the reviews said.

I have the MT1010 product as well. These have a slightly more padded sole/heel area so I use these when I'm running on harder ground. Not a pure minimus shoe, but just the right blend of support and ground feel. EXCELLENT traction in the mud and wicking capability. These (and my MT1010s) are very light when exiting water obstacles compared to my old-school (super padded) trail running shoes. I'm a NB Minimus disciple!

Buy Rockport Women's World Tour Classic Walking Shoe

I bought a pair of these shoes back in the fall of 2004 for work. I was on my feet for 6 hours at a time and these shoes remained comfortable and allowed me to move (hunkering down to reach things on lower shelves) while looking professional.

I have since worn them to job interviews and to my various other jobs.

Seven years later I still have the same paira little scuffed up at the toes but they are now my walking shoes for walks in our woods. As you can see from the pictures they don't have traction enough to use on trails with any sort of incline (Though I've done that to) but they provide enough protection and support for a little rougher wear.

I am very happy with my pair for comfort, durability, and value. I was looking for a replacement for them and I am thrilled to see my old walking shoes are still being made and even better: cheaper then when I first purchased them!

Since a recommendation after back surgery 23 years ago I have worn this same shoe ---in every variation in which it is produced. I hate recommendations written by someone who has had the product for just days, weeks or even a few months. Most items we need time to evaluate. This shoe I KNOW!! It may not be the most stylish but it has comfort, great construction and the fact that it holds up so very well in its favor. It is a great walking shoe. If you spend most of the day on your feet than this is the shoe for you.

I walked all over Europe in the women's version of the World Tour Classic, as did my husband in the men's version. When I tried to replace them, however, I found that Rockport had discontinued the women's line. You can still find a few left-overs on sale, including on this site, but my size isn't one of them. When I started to compare my husband's shoe with mine, they looked identical except for size, so I called a reputable shoe store, and they told me there is indeed no difference at all.

After spending a few moments on-line converting my woman's shoe size into a Euro size and then back into a men's size, I ordered the men's version of this shoe from this site. I am very pleased with the result. The only difference between this shoe and my old women's version is the label in the tongue that says "men". They look the same. They measure the same. They weigh the same. And best of all, they fit and feel identical to the women's shoe.

I'd give this shoe ten stars if I could, but shame on Rockport for giving up on women.

I work in a library and I'm on my feet a lot. I've been wearing this style for more than ten years. I buy a new pair every year or two. It's a very well made, sturdy, comfortable shoe. Orthotics work well in it because you can take the original insoles out.

Best ASICS Men's GEL-Forte Running Shoe Deals

The reviewer is an 8+ years stroke survivor. Up until a few weeks ago I wore lower cost NBs in order to walk without having too many problems with a mild foot drop. From time to time I'd stumble, too. Recently bought a new pair of ASICS Gel-Fortes after having fit tested a number of pairs at a local runners specialty store. These ASICS are the best shoes I've ever had for comfort AND stability, both non-negotiables when I buy shoes. Since the purchase, I've noticed I am not quite as tired at the end of a day as I used to feel. More importantly, my gait has actually IMPROVED after all this time. Also, I am also able to walk longer without a cane than I used to. Something VERY special about these shoes. Highest recommendation.

This shoe does not work for me at all. It is hard and stiff. If I had not tried it on the road a few times to see if it would break in, I would have returned it to Amazon. I have been wearing ASICS for years because they were the most comfortable for my feet. These feel like they were made by a different manufacturer. Might work for you, but my feet say "ouch."

The last on this shoe forces the hip joint to rotate differently than with any other Asics shoe except the Oracle. The gait, therefore, is different than the traditional Asics gait. This shoe and the Oracle are not compatible at the hip rotation level with other Asics shoes. (The structure of the two shoes is the same the only difference is in the midsole foam.) Some people may not know whether they do better with neutral or stability shoes. The Oracle will not help them decide. Some people may not know whether they do better with stability or motion control shoes. The Forte will not help them decide. Instead, the Forte and Oracle try to make you use only them by creating a unique hip rotation imprint. They are a bad direction for the company to travel. The traditional Asics hip rotation is the only gait from Asics I want to use.

I am a flat footed 225 pound runner and run 4-5 times a week, 3-6 miles, with occasional half marathons. I have worn Asics Motion Control shoes for many years. Occasionaly I switch to try something new, but I always come back to Asics. They are the only shoe that I can order online and feel cofident about the size fitting me right.

I think these Fortes are the newer version of the old MC Plus. Fit and feel good.

I was sooooo disappointed with these sneakers. My son is four, and granted I did order one size up so he had room to grow in them (he had tried on another pair of Merrell's at a local store in the same size and they fit fine), but he can't even wear these, when he runs his feet come out. The z-rap part on the top isn't adjustable, unlike on his keens where you can pull the excess strapping and make them tighter, these you can only make looser. My son is very disappointed as well, his favorite color is red, so he couldn't wait to wear these. Normally I love Merrell's, but these were a major let down.

This sneaker fits smaller than other we ordered in the same size (Size 4 Big Kid). It fitted, but my daughter would outgrow it in a month. I also ordered same size Saucony sneakers and Timberland boots in the same order and they both had more room lengthwise. So, I would go at least half size up in these Merrells.

The quality looks good to me, given, that you know that you are ordering a lightweight sneaker for warmer weather or indoor gym. The fabric is thin, the little feet can breathe in them. Definitely not for cold weather outside. Also the look is super stylish. I had a good deal on sale and I would have kept them if they were bigger. But I ended up with Sauconies and returned these.

I wasnt expecting much with a 40 dollar pair of running shoes to be totally honest. I am not a hardcore runner. I bought these for the gym and the treadmill and hiking....theyre REALLY great. Theyre totally breathable, fit fantastic (perfect amound of room in the toe cap) have good shock absorbency, seem to be really durable, they arent getting smelly from sweating in them almost every day. Love this sneaker. They are very soft and comfortable. They move well with your foot and I never feel like my feet are squished or uncomfortable. I would buy more in other colors just to have them. I wear an 8-8.5 normally and I ordered an 8.5 and they fit perfectly! There is just the right amount of give in the heel so my feet aren't sore after walking a few miles. Highly recommend!

I've run about 200+ miles on my first pair of Xodus 3 (purple) and just added a 2nd pair (blue) to my rotation. It's one of the few shoe models with toebox wide enough for my feet and that has been a common positive statement among runners, both locally and online. They've got a good rock plate that will likely provide protection against pointy gravel on gravel roads. (waiting for snowmelt to test) They also have decent shock absorption in the forefoot for those who land on midto forefoot. (So many shoes have elevated heels and no forefoot protection.) It's a nice blend of protection and firmness without being cushy. They also cinch snugly through the instep area, which is nice for those of us with high arches.

Most of my mileage has been on snow (bought in fall in Alaska) so not 100% sure how they will work on unfrozen dirt with rocks and roots that aren't buried under snow. I think they'll do well.

I love exercise but hate the cold. I play tennis and run and if I am even a little cold I won't even go outside to exercise. Because I play tennis, I need cold-weather gear that allows me to move comfortably. I love this hoodie. It's extremely comfortable and warm and has become my favorite coverup for exercise. The hood is effective, not too large which doesn't work for tennis because it can obscure your peripheral vision yet it is warm enough to protect my head without needing a hat. The hood is form-fitting enough that it doesn't fall off. When the hood is down it doesn't flap around which can also be distracting for tennis. The one thing that might have enhanced this top for me would have been some mechanism for rolling up the hood. But even without it this top works great.

I usually wear a size small or medium and ordered this in a medium which works over my tennis tops.

Just one note of caution for people who get hot quickly, this hoodie is very warm and people not sensitive to the cold or people not living in cold climates could get hot very quickly wearing it.

The Scott eRide concept is awesome technology but this shoe really falls short. I have the Scott T2 which is a wonderful shoe and was looking for more or less a trail version of these from this purchase. The eRide Grip could fill this role and be awesome as well except that it is absurdly narrow in the toe box, to the point of making it almost unusable. And my feet are on the narrow side at that. When I run in them I have to place a wrap of tape around my pinky toes or it will be rubbed raw. A great trail shoe requires a relaxed fit toebox to help with balance and allow the foot to naturally absorb on downhill. It's hard to imagine that the designers of these could have tried them out on a trail or even pavement unless they came from one of those countries where they bind your feet from childhood to make them smaller. Traction is very good with the outsole using a slight variation of the tried and true triangluar lugs, doesn't retain mud. The upper has a nice blend of keeping water out while maintaining breathability. Nice reinforcement on lower part of upper to protect from stubbing toe on stone. Color is gastly, I can live with that but it would be nice after their running days are over to be able to use these for casual use on days other than Halloween. Very light and nimble. This is a love/hate relationship. Love the shoes but I need to limit distance and although the shoes really excel at downhill I have to avoid long/steep decents or my pinky toes will pay the price.

I tried these in the store. I normally wear 9.5 but with these shoes a 9 felt much better. The fit is snug but not constricting. It does not look bulky thanks to the thin materials used. They are extremely lightweight and very flexible. The toe box is super soft and my big toe can easily push up on the fabric. I've never worn shoes like these and made me wonder if my toe will eventually poke a hole through it. These are great if you're looking for shoes that offer exceptional foot movement. The shoes felt almost like wearing socks.

When you buy a pair of New Balance shoes that fit exactly right and feel good on your feet, you're pretty darn lucky. I tried this M750 running shoe and found it a bit small and somewhat flimsy. It just doesn't seem to give any support. the last pair of New Balance shoes I bought were a great fit and feel. They are both 14 4E, but you would never know it.

Maybe when you buy mid-range quality shoes at a mid-range price you should keep your expectations in check.
