The reviewer is an 8+ years stroke survivor. Up until a few weeks ago I wore lower cost NBs in order to walk without having too many problems with a mild foot drop. From time to time I'd stumble, too. Recently bought a new pair of ASICS Gel-Fortes after having fit tested a number of pairs at a local runners specialty store. These ASICS are the best shoes I've ever had for comfort AND stability, both non-negotiables when I buy shoes. Since the purchase, I've noticed I am not quite as tired at the end of a day as I used to feel. More importantly, my gait has actually IMPROVED after all this time. Also, I am also able to walk longer without a cane than I used to. Something VERY special about these shoes. Highest recommendation.

This shoe does not work for me at all. It is hard and stiff. If I had not tried it on the road a few times to see if it would break in, I would have returned it to Amazon. I have been wearing ASICS for years because they were the most comfortable for my feet. These feel like they were made by a different manufacturer. Might work for you, but my feet say "ouch."

The last on this shoe forces the hip joint to rotate differently than with any other Asics shoe except the Oracle. The gait, therefore, is different than the traditional Asics gait. This shoe and the Oracle are not compatible at the hip rotation level with other Asics shoes. (The structure of the two shoes is the same the only difference is in the midsole foam.) Some people may not know whether they do better with neutral or stability shoes. The Oracle will not help them decide. Some people may not know whether they do better with stability or motion control shoes. The Forte will not help them decide. Instead, the Forte and Oracle try to make you use only them by creating a unique hip rotation imprint. They are a bad direction for the company to travel. The traditional Asics hip rotation is the only gait from Asics I want to use.

I am a flat footed 225 pound runner and run 4-5 times a week, 3-6 miles, with occasional half marathons. I have worn Asics Motion Control shoes for many years. Occasionaly I switch to try something new, but I always come back to Asics. They are the only shoe that I can order online and feel cofident about the size fitting me right.

I think these Fortes are the newer version of the old MC Plus. Fit and feel good.

I had a pair that was slightly different color scheme for occasional running and everyday use. Like them so much that I bought this second pair to give the first pair a chance to dry out. A nice fitting shoe, very comfortable.
