This shoe is very comfortable. I was a little concerned at first because adidas always tends to run narrow and I have a wider foot. But after trying them on, I decided they were just what I was looking for. I have several pair of heavier, more stable golf shoes, mostly from FootJoy, that I love. But as a walker, these are a welcome addition. THESE ARE NOT WATERPROOF SHOES. They are made of a very thin mesh material, which is why they are so light, but they are definitely not to be worn in soggy wet conditions.

These shoes are extremely comfortable. I played 3 rounds of golf in 3 days and I was impressed with the comfort these shoes provided. The fit was good, true to my size 9M. They also look good. I would definitely recommend them to others.

Comfort plus....hardly know they're on.....even nearing the end of an 18 holer! Like a super lightweight pair of racing shoes.

I already have one like this and I am getting another one because it is so gentle on my feet, especially on my right heel (which has a bone spur)and I don't feel the discomfort that I get from my other golf shoes even after long walks on the golf course. It is so light and it is a great pair of golf shoes, made for walking the course. Thank you Adidas.

This is my second pair since the first pair was so comfortable for walking an 18 holes round. Not hot like many other shoes.

comfortable and supportive; flywires give the heels a more snug feel, but not in a bad way. this blue really pops, i love it.

These line of nike roshe flywire's run a little bigger than the regular and og roshes. To adjust simply get .5 size down. The biggest improvement on these is the nylon like material which you never thought nike could have improved on. I have been wearing these sockless since the material feels much more comfortable than your typical cotton socks. Highly recommended as a fashionable walking /occasional jogging shoe.

About a year ago in response to a stubborn case of plantar fasciitis I began consciously changing my running stride to more of a mid/forefoot strike. It did seem to help the PF a bit, so then I started wondering about going a little more minimalist. Five-fingers utterly repel me (eeeyewwww!), but certainly there are a lot of standard-shaped minimalist shoes out there, and I'm beginning to think there may be something to the idea of promoting a more "natural" running stride.

On the other hand, there are oodles of stories of folks jumping "feet first" into barefoot running, and promptly getting hurt. More injury I did not need!

So I was seeking a transition, a shoe that would promote a mid/forefoot stride, have a minimal heel-to-toe "drop" and no artificially engineered "correction", yet would still provide a reasonable amount of shock absorption/protection from road and trail hazards.

Having run in Brooks shoes for over a decade, the Brooks Pure Project line seemed a logical place to start. I first tried the Brooks PureConnect Mens, which was super light and super comfy on first blush....but alas, upon actually running in them, the arch proved to be super high. Darn. Back to the store they went. I exchanged them for my second choice, the Pure Grit, and was immediately delighted. While the Grits are a bit heavier and less flexy than the Connect, thanks to the beefier outsole geared for trail running, they are a tad wider (as others have noted) and the arch is nowhere near as high. Ahhhh! REALLY comfy, just a delight.

I've read many, many reviews noting the unfortunate issue of the Grit's slippery soles in wet conditions. I haven't yet had occasion to run in them in the wet, but I've heard that Brooks is already hard at work on the next generation to fix this. I'm not too concerned; when it's wet I'll generally be running in my Adrenaline ASRs. But in dry conditions....well, let's just say all my other running shoes have been pining away from lack of use ever since I got the Grits!

Initially I wondered what my mileage limit would be for the Grits--how long could I run comfortably in them? They're so much less structured than my trusty Adrenalines, and when I get tired and my form starts to slip, reverting back to a bit of heel-striking, will I pay for it? Well, so far my longest run in these has been 17 miles, with nary a problem. I generally run roughly 70% trail, 30% pavement; the Grits perform just fine on both.

Addressing some of the minor quibbles I've heard about this shoe: I've had no problem with the gratuitous elastic strap over the top of the foot/tongue. Getting the lacing just right so that the shoe was snug but not cutting off circulation did take a bit of doing, but that's the case with any new shoe. Overall, the strap is a non-issue for me. I think it's just a gimmick, quite frankly.

Similarly, I find the split toe of the outsole to be no more than a gimmick. Honestly, what difference does that make?? Aside from the valid complaint that, yeah, one does tend to pick up pebbles in it, there's not much more to be said about it.

Otherwise, the Grits are awesome. Light and springy, with just enough cushioning to keep them this side of barefoot. With the tiny heel/toe drop (I believe it's 4mm?), they absolutely promote a mid/forefoot stride, so they're a wonderful transition shoe if you're thinking of trying barefoot, but don't want to move too fast. Heck, the Grits are so awesome, I don't think I need to go any farther myself.

The one qualifier I think to be aware of is that I had indeed been focusing on shifting my running stride for a year before I got these. If you are a current heel-striker (or semi-heel striker, as I was), you may want to go a bit slow ramping up with the Grits. For me, a 17-miler within the first couple weeks was no problem. Those just starting to move off their heels may want to take it a bit slower.

Overall: AWESOME shoe! If they fit, you find them comfy, and you're looking to trend minimal, the Pure Grits will make you Run Happy! Looking forward to an improved, non-slippery outsole next year. I've already bought a second pair of the current model to keep at the office for lunchtime runs. Yep, I'm sold!

I always buy Brooks shoes, but these are by far the most comfortable I have owned yet. My legs and feet never feel fatigued in them. Will another pair.

I chose this product because I want to have a backup pair of running shoes. I have owned brooks running shoes before and I have always like how they cushion my feet. Brooks shoes generally run snug. I ordered a half size up and that took care of the fitting. I have already run a 5k in these and I plan on wearing these to a 10k in a week. I would recommend these to those who want less drop.

Honest reviews on Brooks Women's PureGrit Lightweight Trail Running Shoes

I suffer from severe pronation, so I have always had to wear huge, heavy running shoes with tons of support. But I couldn't find anything like that for trail running shoes, so I decided it was time to give minimalist shoes a try. These were recommended to me for pronation (although from what I understand, they are good for many types of feet). From the moment I put these on, I felt like I was flying! They are so lightweight. Also, it completely changed my running stride. With such a small drop, I found myself running correctly--hitting on my midfoot--for the first time. I was worried I would be a bit sore, or my knees or other joints would ache (a usual side effect of my horribly flat feet), but I actually found my very first run with these to be completely pain and ache free. Every other run since then has been the same. I couldn't be happier, finally free of the big clunky stability shoes!

I have this shoe in a man's size 8, which is a little big without my Spenco insole. I ordered the woman's size nine because I loved the color and my woman's sizing can run from 8 1/2 to 9 1/2. Unfortunately, the 9 was far too short, and because this is last year's model, there was no 9 1/2. Back they went.

On the plus side, this is the most comfortable sneaker in the history of shoes as far as the cushioning and insole--even though it's a minimalist runner. (the only downside is no arch support)

I bought these shoes for law enforcement bike patrol. I needed a stiff soled, aggressive tread and comfortable shoe for running hills, pedaling and standing while devouring doughnuts.

It's been five days in the field and they're doing really well. Very happy with the stiff sole, there's little to no flex while pedaling (and we're talking 15-20 miles a day of biking). They're super comfortable with great arch support and they grip super well. What's been a surprise is how comfortable they are when running. They're on par with my Asics Gel Nimbus shoes (now I haven't done a ton of distance, maybe a mile or so, but they were the least of my worries).

I will update as time goes on, but they're a 4 star out of the gate.

Added: Changed my rating to 3 stars. After 6 months of use, they're destroyed. The sole of the left completely tore off, the right has a hole in the sole, the toes are kicked out of both and they are now garbage. Being said, up until their last day of use, they were very comfortable, light and agile. Also, for the amount of trail running I did in them (and it was a lot) only turned my ankle once, which I credit to good grip on the shoes.

My experience is at the high end of what these shoes would be put through, and they held up. 6 months of biking, trail running, rock climbing, street running, fence climbing and jumping from roof to roof, 5 days a week, 10 hours a day.

I opted for what I hope are a more durable pair of the Vasques to replace these, with a more aggressive tread and all rubber toe. All in all, a pretty good shoe.

As advertised good trail running shoe. Went on a 7.5 mile hike on gravel/ dirt trail right after I took the shoes out of the box. Ran a couple of the miles. Upside: Light weight, comfortable, vent well on a warm day, good lateral support, and no rubs. Downside: Sole is not thick/ stiff enough for hiking over a seriously rocky trail.

I want to like these shoes. Light, look good, decent support, feel great overall.

After 20 light miles they are showing significant wear. There's numerous reviews online of the bottom sole wearing all the way through in under 50 miles. Save yourself the time and money and skip these ones. There's no way these are going to make 150 miles. My last pair of trail shoes made it more than 700. I was hoping for 300 in these.

I was totally psyched about this shoe. they look awesome, they feel better than any shoe I've ever had and they are lighter than a feather. I totally started running more because of how cool they are (yes I know how very 6th grade of me). But unfortunately only about 4 months later (after spending $100 on them) they are worn down enough that I cant really use them anymore. I'm trying to decide if I want to spend that much money on shoes that won't really last that long and I don't think I do.

Best Deals on The North Face Men's Single-Track Hayasa Trail Running Shoe

I have had a very tough time buying shoes that allow me to have a comfortable run. Depending on the company (only 2 come to mind) I can get away with a normal width, but for the most part I usually have to ride in the 2E or even 4E realm of shoe buying, which, if you have duck feet like I do, you know how much of a pain it is to just walk into a store and find a good fit, and even if they are a good fit, usually the shoes are as heavy as bricks.

I own a few North Face products, and after being frustrated at all of the different shoes I tried on in the store, I stumbled into these (I wasn't aware that The North Face even made running shoes), and I have to say, these are without a doubt my favorite pair of running shoes.

I tend to land on the middle of my foot, but I will occasionally heal strike (I've ran for years heal striking. It's not the devil's form of running.)I'm not a marathon runner or anything eith phenomenal technique...probably 20 to 25 miles a weekI run for enjoyment and cardio. They are a very light shoe with the perfect amount of support without giving up the feel of the terrain under your feet.

If you have wide feet, these shoes will feel amazing to you. However, if you have narrow feet, I'd definitely try some on first I love this shoe because they are wide at a "normal" width.

I cannot recommend highly enough!

Honest reviews on The North Face Men's Single-Track Hayasa Trail Running Shoe

Read a bunch of reviews complaining about the grip wear; I took a 3 hour hike and there is significant wear on the sole. Very disappointing. Even worse, the rocks were wet and I was slipping repeatedly while my friends had no problems. I've never experienced this kind of slippage with my North Face hikers or my Merrell's.

The shoes are really comfortable, I'd say they're good for wearing around town but real world use on the trails will shorten their lifespan significantly.

After wearing Five Finger KSOs for a couple years, which I think are awesome by the way, I decided that I wanted something with a little more grip/padding for light trail/street running. My KSOs are size 41, so that's what I got with these at first. They were too big howerver, so I tried size 40 and the feel just a hair too tight. When I first was using them I didn't do any running and after a couple days they seemed fine. Then I decided to run in them and that was a big mistake. The ventelation on the sides is great, but the position wes just right that the forward inside vent corner began rubbing away the skin on my feet. After running only a half mile I had to stop and descovered that there were blisters on the insites of my feet and one of them was already bleading. Also, the stitchig on the inside tips of the toes is a little too thick and rough, and leaves red lines on the tips of my toes. I'd give it these two stars, but it's not Vibram's fault my feet don't conform to their specific sizes that seem to varry from one model of shoe to the next. They do look nice though.

UPDATE! This top section is RECENT. The paragraph below is OLD.

I've been wearing these shoes regularly for the past several weeks and I have not had any problems with them. The tongues that I had worried would rip have not yet done so, nor have they shown any signs that they will do so in the future. I am moving this rating from 4 stars to 5 stars. If the tongue rips, I will come back to this site and edit this post. As of now, I don't see this as being likely. These are great shoes!

I love Vibrams. That being said, I do really like this product, but it is not up to par with other Vibrams that I have experienced in the past. The one big problem with these shoes is the tongue. You need to yank on it to get your toes into the toe slots, which is normal. What is not normal, however, is how weak the linkage of the tongue seems to be to the rest of the shoe. So far, there has been no rip or failure, but it seems inevitable that it will happen. Maybe I'm wrong. I've only wore them a few times since they arrived, and they are cummfy enough and all, and I like the feel when wearing them, as with all of the Vibram shoes I've ever owned, but the durability of that tongue on this particular pair is just so questionable. And if it rips out, the shoe is garbage. So far it hasn't happened yet, and I hope it never does, but I'm not very confident about it. I won't give these a bad review until they have actually ripped.

I have had the devil of a time trying to find IC shoes that are not designed to be the profile of bananas-long and narrow. Nike, Puma (impossibly small-for-stated size) and Adidas all are narrow and, to my feet 'way undersized in 12. The Fila Forza, now getting scarce, are true to old fashioned American-sized feet. While a snug fit in 12, they are properly snug, not squeezy-narrow. Shoes are handsome, seemingly very well constructed, materials appear high quality. I have not put them past the rigors of walking about or toying with a ball indoors, so can't comment on durability. I'd suggest these as a cycling shoes, also good for walking, versus the cleat-style cycling shoes that leave one hobbling when off-bike. Good stiff sole, as cycling shoes have. I liked them so much and was so relieved to find IC shoes to fitshoes that also look casually, athletically sharpthat I bought pairs in white and in the pictured mainly black. Can be found for well under "list" price, but, as I said, scarce now.

I am not a runner, I bought a pair of the Monos direct from the factory. I chose the leather tops with the 3/8" leather laces. I tie them with a simple knot on the thong strap which can be slid back and forth to adjust tightness or to slip the sandals on and off. I didn't cut the lace short, I just wrap the excess around my ankle and tie it up.

I've found them very comfortable, especially in the warm south Florida climate. I've been wearing them on weekends and change into them when I get home from work. I love the feel of the leather laces, very secure and comfortable one they've worn in a bit. Very well worth the price. Hint: I ordered one shoe a half size smaller than the other for a good fit. The factory has no problem with doing this. I think my problems with nail fungus may be a thing of the past, keeping your feet out of the hot-damp may be the best cure.

I've never liked flip-flops because they keep falling off your feet unless you keep your toes somewhat clenched (which has been claimed to cause hammer-toe). I never realized just how comfortable sandals can be until I discovered Luna sandals. I really can't recommend these enough. It may take you a while to get used to the leather lace between the toes, but the material softens up after a few days of use and then you hardly notice it at all. They offer a few other options for laces, but don't be afraid of the thick leather ones. I also have a pair of the original Luna's with their first generation ATS laces, but I find that they keep loosening up on me. The newer version of the ATS straps may be better, but I have no first hand knowledge of that.

I bought them a size larger than i needed, but the back of the shoe has some kind of plastic insert that wraps around your ankle, and something in/under the tongue that is not forgiving even after two days. I absolutely love these shoes. This is actually my second pair. After getting my first pair at a department store, I decided I needed a second in a different color. I am a Nurse and am on my feet a lot, and these are the first shoes that don't make my feet hurt. I knew as soon as I put them on that they were comfortable.

The problem here is that Amazon has labeled them as men's shoes (which is the absolute only reason they are getting four stars). These are WR, which means women's running. The only one that is actually a men's shoe is the all GREY. The other four colors are women's and will come in women's sizes. The only reason I figured this out was because I was cross-referencing with the New Balance website and noticed the all grey was not an option there. Hope this helps clear things up. And the title of the shoe should be "New Balance WOMEN'S WR580 Running Shoe"

The other reviewers seem to have had bad luck. I ordered this shoe in white/blue and it was a woman's shoe. I love this shoe actually, been running on it for about 200 miles now and it's still going strong. In winter I don't run so much but when it's warmer out I try to run between 20-30 miles per week especially when I'm training for a half marathon.

I have really high arches and it provides enough support for my foot. I bought the white/blue color because it was the cheapest option for my size, which is 7. The only complaint I have is that on one of my feet on the metatarsal bone right below my big toe the shoe kind of rubs funny but it's not all of the time. I think one of my feet is slightly bigger than the other so I think that's really the problem it's not a flaw with the shoe.

The main thing I was looking for was a quality shoe with good arch support and good cushioning and I have found it with this shoe. I will be buying this type of shoe again once my current pair wear out.
